Altitude and Pressure Changes

Dr. Jonathan Taves Season 1 Episode 137

In this episode, Dr. Taves explains why you might experience a headache with altitude gain. How does our body respond in the hypoxic state (less oxygen)? A change in Barometric pressure is also an extremely common trigger for many migraine sufferers. Why? Because typically there is a level of inflammation within the neck joints (C1 and C2) and the pressure within the joint increases during barometric pressure changes. So how do you move forward? You simply Control What You Can Control. Reduce the level of tension in your neck and shoulders so that your threshold for what your body can tolerate goes up by spending 5-10 minutes stretching each day.
