This week (3 weeks ago) Casey and Upo just catch up after a long break. We obviously had to cover the Knicks victory, the world cup, Lebron walking, and mescaline ice cream.

SPEAKER_02

Perfect. Cheers. Ben a minuto. It's been, I think, since the last time we uploaded. Not since the last time we actually sat down, but the last time we uploaded was three months ago.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that was my bad. I went with Hambozo. I went I went kind of hard that night.

SPEAKER_02

It was great in the in the moment. Yeah, no, it was a it was a absolute eye.

SPEAKER_04

Even after we went like off script completely for like another hour.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and then I remember some of the topics that came up and I was like, I didn't even listen back to it. I was just like, delete. Nope, delete. This could never like never ever. Dark tapes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, not even the dark tape. I keep most of the dark tapes, but that one I was like, that was the UPO files. This was delete. That was in the files, bro. That was I was like, yo, that's fucking still remember me and you talking about something, and Dev was like, Yeah, I don't understand how anybody could like that type of thing. And me and you went for like 10 minutes of like trying to justify one type of thing.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, oh, this is and then and then immediately we watched After Sunset. That was like the wildest. Yes. We watched the most rom-com movie. Oh, I forgot about that. Not even a comedy, but we watched the most romantic film possible after the film.

SPEAKER_02

I needed something low low energy. Yeah. Because there was a couple points where you were this way was going crazy on the verge of fucking popping out, and I was like, I need something low energy right now because if we if we play something high intensity high intensity, then then we're gonna be up until fucking 6 a.m. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Fair enough. Good call. Good call. But yeah, man, what's been up with you?

SPEAKER_02

Uh not shit, really. I mean, I'm trying to think. Last weekend was the first weekend in since I can remember that I did absolutely nothing. That was a nice change.

SPEAKER_04

When you say nothing, what did you do? Just hung out of the crib, hung out, watch movies, just like yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I woke up on Saturday and I was a fucking degenerate. I woke up on Saturday, I was a little hung over because even what time? Well, I woke up at like I mean you're like okay. I got out of bed at eight. I probably woke up at like seven, got out of bed at eight. I was like, oh, let me go get some breakfast. I'm up, you know. Got some uh Waffle House. What's your what's your go-to there? Uh blueberry waffles and a side of bacon. Alright, fair enough. Pretty good. Um came back. I saw the entirety of the last season of The Bear was this is four, right?

SPEAKER_04

Because five just came out. Or five's the new one. Yeah, the new one. Oh, yeah. People were saying it's incredible. Yeah. They're saying it's a great one.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, I'll watch an episode before I like shower and get ready for the day. Locked in. I locked, it wasn't until like two o'clock in the afternoon that I actually like went and got it, like took a shower and like I was like, this is incredible.

SPEAKER_04

Like it is, it is man. I don't I don't know if you it's like to people who don't get it, I don't know that you could properly explain the appeal of going into a weekend knowing you have no plans. That shit is that shit is glorious.

SPEAKER_02

What happens is Friday afternoon I hit the chat generally at like one o'clock ish. And generally there's somebody who's trying to do something. Martinez is out and about usually so between one and I one till I get a response. I'm a little on edge because I don't know what I'm doing after I get off of work. Okay. But if I get off of work and there's no response to anything, then I'm in that like, oh, we're not doing nothing. Yeah, I'm going home. Um you missed your shot. Getting a six pack and I'm just chilling. Yeah. And I think Saturday came around too. I think uh you said you had a little uh sore throat pause. Uh so like I was like, Casey's not worth the risk. Not worth the risk. Well, I'm not doing yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm not gonna hang out. It wasn't worth it. Um and then like nobody else said anything, so I was like, okay, so this will this is I'm a free man. Yeah, this is great. Nobody was home either. I was there by myself. Yeah and I just was a complete piece of garbage and didn't do anything productive.

SPEAKER_04

But I mean, complete piece of garbage, probably exaggerating. Like I said, I mean, just you know, what all of man's problems stem from his inability to sit in a room quietly by himself.

SPEAKER_02

That's true.

SPEAKER_04

That's it. Yeah, I mean, that's that's all of man's problems. So it honestly, I don't consider that being a piece of shit. I just maybe being like unproductive is probably the worst I judge you for that. But like I said, I I there's certain people who are if you're an extrovert or if you're like a busybody, yeah, I get it, you probably go fucking nuts and you feel awful about yourself. But there is a really great just like I got no plans this weekend. Like it could go anywhere, it could go fucking nowhere, and I'd be good.

SPEAKER_02

It just like I realize that without uh the structure that a job gives me, right? I'd have a real tough time keeping it on the rails. And I know this was a vacation for me technically, but like You took PTO? Dog, I went for that to that mountain week. Oh yeah. Degeneracy. Yeah, just like by myself in a cabin. Uh a man in a room by himself. Yes. Beers on beers on beers on the case. I'll be Frank when uh I'll be Tom. Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Um, yeah, dude. Like when Celeste goes away for conferences, like she's like gone from like Sunday to Thursday, yeah. Monday night making dinner.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, crack a bottle of wine. Yeah, fuck it. I'm just I'm cooking. Yeah, I'm yeah, dude.

SPEAKER_04

And it's like a like I'll sit on that couch though on a TV show, start binge watching something, and it's like I'm like realizing I'm like three quarters to a bottle of wine by myself, and I'm like, alright, I gotta stop. It's Monday, like what am I doing? I did that uh when she was out. I was I binge watched uh Watchmen on HBO. Oh, I think that was right after I needed to. And uh yeah, I dude, like Monday night, just sitting on the couch after making dinner, ate, sit down, watch, put the TV on. Yeah, like two hours in, I'm like three quarters of a bottle where I'm done. I'm like, holy shit, I'm by myself. This is crazy on a Monday night. Like I can't be doing this.

SPEAKER_02

Like that's insane.

SPEAKER_04

The Yeah, when you're when you're dolo like that, you lose track real quick. Yeah, it's easy to put down the stuff.

SPEAKER_02

The good thing is like I did do some writing, and I'll be honest, there's a reason I think a lot of writers like lean towards alcoholism and yeah, just boozing consumption, consumption. Consumption in general. Cause like the second you write something sober, you're like, that's fucking whack. Like you write you write anything, and like you have like the the back of your mind actually processing shit, and it's like, that's terrible. That's fucking corny, that's terrible. Cut it. If you have between, I don't know, four or five drinks.

SPEAKER_04

When you hit that like substance flow state, yes, yes, and you can just go. Same shit, dude. If I'm here, like I I typically like to record my mixes when Celeste's gone because they've is loud as fuck, and I like to sometimes crank it a little bit because I like I like to feel what I'm mixing. Um, and I just look like to be inconsiderate. Like Celeste's more than happy. Like, I'll close the door, she'll go downstairs, and I'm sure the bass is fucking going through the fucking floor, but she generally doesn't really care. Um, sometimes she's even like let it open, like I'd like to listen to it, and I get self-conscious or whatever. But anyway, yeah, sometimes like I'll crack a couple couple IPAs and just like and then like 30 minutes into a mix, like once you hit that slow state, you're like, oh man, you start feeling everything, and it's it's a different thing, it's a different thing. You start moving, yeah, yeah, yeah. Shit starts coming together real quick. 100%. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So I did something out there, but yes, me by myself is just a fucking booze hound. It's a booze.

SPEAKER_04

It's just like fucking Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you also hit the you also hit the liquor too. That's that's yeah, yeah. It was it was like a a telly and yeah, I I don't know if I could whiskey in by my I I'm definitely like a beer and wine guy because I could sip. Yeah, doing doing doing liquor. I'm I'm I'm a lightweight dude. I'd be I'd it'd be an early night for me.

SPEAKER_02

It essentially came down to just like and I hope we didn't talk about this before on the pod, but it's been a few months now, so I I doubt we did, but it was just like one of those things where it's like it's like the jump start. So like I'd have a beer and a whiskey after I was done doing whatever I need to do in the morning to get myself straight. Okay. And then you take the whiskey and then you kind of sip on the beer, and that'll get you going so that like I can start writing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then once I start writing, until I realize I'm like getting self-conscious about it again, like I don't go back inside for another until like I start being like self-conscious about my writing again.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And then after like an hour or two, then I go back in for another beer, and then you can kind of coast on the beer. But the whiskey was just like a jump start, and then it was once like the the sun went down.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And uh you need a spark plug. The the yeah, the beer wasn't cutting it no more. That's when I'd hit the whiskey again. But and then I'd do dumb shit like watch uh the heat and town back to back and be like and text you and be like, yo, yeah, I'm sorry, but start dropping your R's and shit.

SPEAKER_04

Uh fucking um I was gonna say, I think I've asked this before. Are you are you someone who is generally prone to depression?

SPEAKER_02

100%. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So, I mean, how do you feel about you know just boozing in the woods by yourself? Do you feel like you do you feel like you get bouts of depression when you do that shit?

SPEAKER_02

Or are you usually good at mind space like before you So let me rephrase that. I was prone to bouts of depression for years at a time, but I think a lot of that was chemical. I was off testosterone at the end of the day. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course. Like, and I didn't realize that that was what was like actually what was happening. Yeah. So since I've been back on testosterone, I'm good. Like I'm fine. You're I I have anxiety still, obviously, but it's different than good. So yeah, I don't have any worries like that. Also, even when I was like, quote, I sub-diagnose depress. I don't I've never been to a therapist, so I don't really know. But uh even when I was what I would consider depressed, um it was never like a like a yeah, like this way. I wish I wasn't alive or I wasn't like. Well, I mean I that was it. That was it. I did have that, but like I would never do it because I had you made it seem like it's no but like No, I had the thing where I was like, Yeah, I wish I I shouldn't exist. Yeah, if I could just like take me out of the timeline and but not like suicidal ideations, is what you're saying. Exactly. So like yeah, like I was like, I would I would be like, Man, I wish I could kill myself, but like my parents would be really bummed and I have friends, I would be bummed. Like, so I won't do it. But like I definitely wanted to like if if it was like me alone in a uh fucking in a society where If your parents are past, yeah, you're just yeah, all of your friends are dead.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I'd be if you were the Joker, basically. Okay, okay. Damn, we're starting this one off on a light note. Oh, yeah. You went to Dallas to go see a I we did, yeah, man. I got to see my first World Cup game. Uh me and Celeste went with uh her coworkers, actually the one who got us the tickets. Whole crazy story. We got to go for free, basically. Nice. I mean, we spent like Buku Bucks out there. We tried to be smart and were like, we'll just Uber around instead of renting a car. Horrendous decision. We spent so much money in Dallas because like it's like suburban sprawl. So it's like every Uber is like $20, $30 every time we go into it.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sure there's more people there than there normally is.

SPEAKER_04

So thankfully, because I have Chase, I tried to use Lyft a lot more uh because I get credits from that and I get five times points. Um Uber has been on some bullshit recently, but also because all the international people are using Uber because they don't have Lyft over season. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Uber was like a non-sequitur basically. Um so I used Lyft as much as I could. So I didn't really get hit with surge pricing. I tried to use the weight and save as much as I could. Um, but we spent like we were there for what, three, four days, and we spent like at least like five hundred, three to five hundred. Fuck. Somewhere in that range. I mean, we were we were hopping everywhere we went, so it was, yeah. I mean, it it ended up costing us. Um, we we thought we were being smart. I mean, thankfully, I think it was the right decision because everywhere we went we were drinking. So it made no sense to drink and drive, especially with like all the police and everything in town, like it was crazy. So, but yeah, Dallas was uh it was hot as fuck. Um it was, you know, it's Texas in fucking June. Um but uh yeah, I mean, Dallas was sick, man. I actually kind of liked it. Um we went to like the I guess like what would be like the hipster district. It's called uh Bishop Arts. Okay. There's like a bunch of uh bars and like little restaurants, boutiques, and shit like that. And uh we went the first night we got there uh to go out and just watch a game at a bar. Um it was really sick because we got to see, you know, being in a World Cup city, you know, there's like a group of like Netherlands fans and they're from the Netherlands, British dudes over here at the bar. You got a group of Argentinians sitting at another table. So you got like all these like ethnic enclave groups kind of running around, and it was really cool to see that. Um, you know, and everyone's having a good time, everyone's vibing, you know, no issues, none like that. Everyone's fun.

SPEAKER_02

Um most of the fucking soccer hooligans can't afford to actually also.

SPEAKER_04

I'm pretty sure like they were like they're in you're in America, like cops shoot and kill people. Like, I'm sure that's like forget about that. I'm sure that's like the zeitgeist, so they're like, Yeah, maybe behavior stuff. Cops over there don't got guns. Trump's in office, they're deporting people if you look at them wrong. Yeah, they don't give a fuck. Uh but um I got to see like Dallas though, like uh it was Saturday night. So yeah, I mean fucking lifted pickup trucks blasting fucking corridos and ranchero, like fucking loaded up, like neon lights all throughout the cabins. Like it was, you know, and they're they're cruising real slow down the block. Um it was it was it was exactly what you'd think yeah uh Texas would be like. I mean, a lot of cowboy hats, boots like that. I mean, it was it was cool. I liked it. Oh yeah. Um as someone who's generally not like a big like not big into the cowboy aesthetic, like personally, yeah especially with like how like mainstream it's become like all these bitches wearing fucking cowboy boots and fucking shit like that. Like I'm like the That shit is corny, especially if you're not from there.

SPEAKER_02

But I think the main thing for me is the cowboy boots and the the hats are like you know me how I feel about like function like uh like Western. You like Western stuff. I like I like Western stuff, but like I'm never gonna be the guy that's wearing a cowboy hat because I don't do I don't do that shit. Yeah, even like that's insane. It's whenever I see like some big fat motherfucker and I say that as a fat man.

SPEAKER_04

Um like a big dude with a tight with a 10-gallon hat?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, with a 10-gallon hat and the cowboy boots and shit, and I'm like, you're not on no fucking horse, bro.

SPEAKER_04

You're ranching.

SPEAKER_02

Like, what are you doing? Like, yeah, yeah. So and I get the and I hate it.

SPEAKER_04

Like if you're Mexican or a Texan, like I get it, of course.

SPEAKER_03

That's your aesthetic.

SPEAKER_04

Like, drop that shit. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You can pull it off. If I was Mexican, your boy would have a cowboy hat with the biggest.

SPEAKER_04

The co-op hanget though, from like the random suburban white girls are like, you know, I see the BCU students, and I'm like, dude, come on.

SPEAKER_05

We saw Raylon Gibbons at the bar the other day, like fucking.

SPEAKER_04

Holy shit, my birthday. Oh my god, what a night. That was insane, dude. That guy was a fucking character. Listening to fucking like Russian fucking hip-hop in his earphone. Like, oh man, that guy was a character. Wrote it, wrote a different name on the sign-up sheet for the pool. His his actual name was completely different. Oh, was it dude? He told me so. I think the name he wrote was Jerude. Like it was because we were like we're like Jerude, like looking for like a Frenchman. Yeah, yeah. This motherfucker pops up, and he told me his name was Abe. And he's like, like honest Abe. And I was like, okay. Oh, I kind of remember. Your name's Abe. All right, yeah. And I mean, just he was a cool guy, but just like a fucking character, man. Like one of those, like, one of those dudes I'm not gonna forget anytime soon.

SPEAKER_02

I'll never like I was blackout drunk and I won't forget that guy.

SPEAKER_04

I was I was pretty toasty by the time when I met him and throughout his rest of the night. He's a nice guy. He offered to buy me drinks like multiple times. I was like, What's your birthday? Like, what do you want? Anytime he went to the bar, he's like, What do you want? You want a shot? You want a beer? I'm like, he bought me like one or two beers. Um, he's trying to give me shots. I was like, nah, I'm I'm already fucked. Um, but you know, and then there was the whole thing with Mirari. That did you you didn't hear about that?

SPEAKER_02

No, I don't see.

SPEAKER_04

So at one point in the night, uh Merari comes up and she's like, Are you guys gonna run another game? Yeah. And um, I'm like, Oh, if you want to jump in. So uh, and I introduce him because she's like, Oh, hey, blah, blah. You know, he's standing right there. And so we get into a conversation a little bit, and he's like, Oh, um, he's like, Is this your this is your girl, right? And I'm like, Oh no, I'm like, my wife's right there. I'm like, this is our this is one of our good friends, blah, blah, blah. And um, so yeah, we're just talking, having a conversation, and all of a sudden, he's been dolo the whole night. Yeah, this woman walks up and she's like, Hey, to him. She's like, Are you ready to go? And he's like, Oh, no. Like, and he like, you know, it's kind of sassy. He's like, No, I'm not ready to go. But he kind of has like a little bit of like dismissiveness, and me and Maria are like, fuck. And she's like, and she looks at me and Marari and she's like, Oh, hey, by the way, I'm his wife, like that. Oh, and me and Maria were like, Cool, like nobody was trying to encroach on your yeah, we're not trying to have a threesome with your man, bro. Like, what are you doing? Like, she came at us like we were like some sort of threat, and we were like, What the fuck is we were like, Okay, like that's cool, like we're playing pool, and yeah, and then they got into it, and me and Mariah were just like we did like the Peter Griffin into the bush, yeah, yeah, yeah. The Homer Simpson, yeah, the Homer Simpson, not Peter Griffin, the Homer Simpson into the bush. Like, we were like, Alright, we're gonna back out of this conversation real quick.

SPEAKER_02

Holy shit, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't think I really I I ran into him a couple times throughout the night, you know, just said something in passing, but uh that kind of killed the vibe.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, Yeah, this guy's the only thing I really remember.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, the Knicks winning the championship I remember the next 53-year drought, baby. On my birthday, no less.

SPEAKER_02

I remember me like not having any cash for my next like pool game. Right. The quarters. The quarters, yeah. And um, I hope this I'm not talking about Abe's wife right now, but like some like hipster goddess walks up and was like No, she was she was like a blonde white woman, she was not like a hipster. And she like had like like a fucking roll of quarters in her hand. What the fuck? And she was like, You need quarters? And I was like, Yeah, but I mean I don't have any, like, I don't have a single to get it. Yeah, I don't have any cash. And he was like, she was like, take as many as you want. You're good. Here. And I was like, She was hitting on you.

SPEAKER_04

No shot.

SPEAKER_02

She was good looking.

SPEAKER_04

You think you think women just offer money to random men? Is that do you think quarters?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, maybe. I don't know. A roll of quarters? She didn't say take ten dollars worth of quarters, but she was just like, hey, if you want a like a couple bucks worth, yeah, go ahead. I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Rand random kindness from women?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I try to unlikely.

SPEAKER_03

No, I'm just I try not to of course you never want to assume that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's never, it's never that. It's never that, it's never that. Yeah, it's always a semi-based.

SPEAKER_04

They could save your life. You'd be like, thank you for being so friendly. I really appreciate you. Yeah, yeah. Um, but yeah, that was a fun ass birthday, man. It was a good time. Rare time we got everybody in the same room. 100%. I mean, Zelaya was there. Shem Shem pulled up. He tied a few. I mean, he was drinking at the not at Let's What the fuck was he? Oh, the phony Negroni. He didn't have any nose. Uh my brother. Yeah, it was a it was quite a rogues gallery of fucking the crew.

SPEAKER_02

Oh shit, that reminds me, I gotta book the fucking B and B. Me, Dev, and Zelaya said we're gonna get a B and B for uh for Mike's, maybe go down the day before and uh kind of make a weekend of the situation. Um Mike's wedding.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, you guys can do that? Then fuck. Let me know what the details because uh me and Celeste are gonna book the hotel, but um what day are you guys doing it?

SPEAKER_02

Probably going down Friday and then just a day early, it's just a day.

SPEAKER_04

We may just come out and crash all and just see y'all and see what's up. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well well, it depends on where we book. That's amazing. I mean, we're not gonna crash with you. No, no, no, but you know what I'm saying. Like, yeah, it depends on where we book, because Zelaya was talking a whole this a lot of this uh uh Zelaya was like, yo, let's just get like a nice ass spot and just like blow it up.

SPEAKER_04

If you guys want, I mean, if it's just a three-year, yeah. I mean, obviously, clearly you guys could probably get a nicer one if you book a five person. If you want to include me and Celeste in that, just let us know our portion. I'm down. I'll let you know. Yeah, because we're gonna have family in town too. Yeah. Um, I know my mom's cousin Chago, he has like a decent, he has like three kids, his wife, so he's getting an Airbnb. He's not doing a hotel. And so I know he's he's generally probably gonna like splurge on something like nice with a pool and stuff like that. So I'm sure like a bunch of my family's gonna meet up with him, but like I'm gonna have family all over the area.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, we gotta Zelaya, so like the thing is I looked around like walking distance from the venue, and I was like, It's tough. There's no B and B's out there, it's tough. So, like but we have Zelaya who's just gonna who's sober, so he's gonna be able to drive. So we were like, Yeah, we can venture towards like uh Virginia Beach proper. And I'm trying to see if we can find something on the beach that has a balcony looking over because Zelaya was like, let's fucking he wants a waterfront. He didn't say that let's get a waterfront, but he was like, Let's blow it up and get something nice, nice. And I was like, hmm, okay, yeah, fuck it, let's do it. So uh I'll take a look and I need to do that because I know he's not gonna do it. Dev's in the group chat that us three made, but uh he hadn't sent anything.

SPEAKER_04

I sent a couple options, but like I said, if you want to root me in Celeste, let us know. I'd be down to I'll let you know. Fucking trying to think, man. Nick's wonning the championship, man. Fantastic, yeah. Crazy. Yeah Wemby. is on a revenge tour, I'm sure, next season. That guy's gonna, he's got demon energy.

SPEAKER_02

It's funny how like everybody's always like, oh yeah, you're like a bandwagon fan or whatever. You mean of the Knicks? No, whenever like somebody wins, I'm like you know how you know I'm not a bandwagon fan is because next year if they make it that far, I'm not going for them. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

The only reason I was going for the yeah the only reason is why yeah exactly.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah you don't you don't need it.

SPEAKER_02

There's like there was a few people I was wearing the Knicks hat around the the office uh the Monday after. Yeah. And uh and even like previously of course right of the when you wear Knicks hat. Well I mean I was wearing it for like the previous few weeks as well. Okay but like people were like you from New York and I was like no my family's from New York but uh to be honest it's a story bro like fucking 50 some years like yeah for New York of all places like it's a big market yeah you know they're not yep there was a a theory that was out there that like why New York sports aren't that great especially at the interesting okay smaller smaller level like college and shit like that. Sure. Is because they got other shit going like yeah like these places like Duke for college what the fuck does Alabama got going on other than college sports yeah Wisconsin you got nothing going on out there yeah you gotta be good at football or some shit like you're not getting like a major market you know that's also kind of why I was so stoked to see Oklahoma City win.

SPEAKER_04

Um you know a lot of people were like it's Oklahoma City like it's such a fucking whack mark but I'm like dude it's Oklahoma City that's awesome yeah yeah in the middle of fucking nowhere like how cool and they're the newest franchise in the NBA I thought that was cool but you know um I think obviously they won their ring there is Shay burned a lot of goodwill with the flopping last year it got it got egregious. I'm a big like I I think flopping discourse gets a little bit overblown but Shay was like wild with one of those especially after the fact that he didn't need to do any of that to win the ring that they got yeah and so it got it got really crazy um in examination but yeah man the Knicks winning it and that's the funny thing like the Knicks New York teams are never a bandwagon thing. Like if there's two bandwagon teams in the NBA it's the Celtics and the Lakers. Those are the bandwagon teams anything outside of that is fair game.

SPEAKER_02

Yep Spurs have won a decent amount um you know the Heat had their run with LeBron New York if your uh family if your ethnicity is like recently from somewhere else if your family is from somewhere else there's a more than decent chance that they came through New York New York. Yeah as like the immigrant hub yes like the United States like and also I hate to say it but like if there was since uh the Cowboys like ran it in the in the 90s right yeah if there was like America's team team New York is like I don't give a shit about DC DC doesn't really fucking count I don't know but like to me I'm like it makes sense that so you'd say the Giants or the Yeah I guess my my uh I was gonna say hockey what is it Rangers Islanders I could see Rangers counting as America's team and really yeah um I could see that I mean just because it's it's the American city dog it is like it is but also I think like I gotta I uh America's so well it really comes down to North for South like because you could also are you thinking of America from a northern perspective or a southern perspective? No I'm thinking about it you could also make the argument that the Lakers are America's team as well because they had a fucking what? They had their run that their like run of the 2000s of like being Oh a Kobe Shack? Yeah yeah like yeah if you had to like put one team in basketball as like America's team what would it be?

SPEAKER_04

It damn well ain't the fucking Washington Washington Wizards I don't know that there is one man um I'm gonna be honest like I think basketball is like one of the few like American sports where like foreign players are flourishing pretty well right now I mean they're running like the top five spots um and and there's also been a heritage of that of like foreign born players Tim Duncan um Hakim Lajan people really sleep on hell great it wasn't flashy but Tim Duncan was Tim Duncan's a top 10 player all time I think uh unarguably yeah um the Spurs you know they had they have a heritage of draft of drafting and also uh picking up foreign born players and having a lot of success Manu Ginobli um you know the Spurs have that kind of heritage with with him and Tim Duncan um now they got Wemby uh it's tough to say I don't think there's an American team um but absolutely is the Knicks a bandwagon team yeah no no shot yeah um you know I remember uh you know back in my like backpacker hip hop days listening to Big L and he had a freestyle and like one of the funniest lines he's like I'm from New York and never was a fan of the Knicks and it's like what the hell I mean dude the Knicks were ass for like ever I mean even even in the previous heyday which was like Patrick Ewing in the 90s like he's not getting past the Bulls dude like it's not or is he getting past Charles Barclay and stuff like I don't know it's just it's yeah the the Knicks have never been like that team. So I mean it it's awesome to see him do it um I mean I think I expected the hot nonsense that was going to go on in the streets. Some of it was still a little bit I'll be honest come on now son I uh it kind of ruined it a little bit like beating up Spurs fans and shit.

SPEAKER_02

I deleted my Reddit that was the last social media I had and you deleted it yeah over the Knicks and not over the Knicks just like over like it happened to be some like Nick Spurs content uh and it was a bunch of Knicks fans beating beating up a Spurs dude yeah beating the shit and stealing the jersey comments yeah thinking like maybe somebody will be like oh fucked up this is fucked up this is fucked up or like by the way um the guy is at the hospital and he's fine and he's blah blah yeah I try to get some details on like what the victim was and all I saw was um yeah n words be like and I was like okay I'm done yeah I was like I gotta Jesus I haven't seen any of that but that sounds I was like good good reason to unplug yeah I was like nope I'm done fuck this um off season's been pretty crazy though has it yeah I haven't been LeBron walked oh shit he I didn't hear about yeah he's in free agency and he is not returning to the Lakers they announced his exit he is not coming back so Luca is on his own uh what are we thinking about the chances that they retain uh Redick as the coach without I mean I I think there's no reason that Redick would not want to stay on.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know I I'm sure he wants to stay on I don't know what his contract is I I don't know what that looks like but um I mean it it'll depend on the success that they achieve uh you know Lucas still got a few years there they've got Reeves locked in um they I just want Luca to fucking get a it's I that's why the biggest thing is like sucked about watching LeBron walk I'm like okay so like what's their move now like who do they and so they picked up the center settle the white boys broken they picked up the center from the jazz Walker Kessler okay so they got a big three white boys. Yeah here's the thing the between these three players and their contracts extending out into you know each however many years they got um they have committed 475 million between those three players and they have no draft picks for the next seven years. Seven years so they have no capital left to trade like they have no draft picks to offer picking up Kessler they use the last of them. So they have seven years worth of locked up draft picks that they can't touch. So they gotta make it work with what they got um they picked up a couple players and free agents a lot of free agents came available this year they picked up a couple small pieces here and they're the thing they're trying to run with we'll see what happens um Rui Hachimura who ended last season as the best three-point shooter in the league I think he's walking I don't think he's staying that's a big loss uh at the end of the day the biggest thing is I'm looking at it and I'm like how can you guys got to make this work for Luca like I obviously like like it's crazy to me to think that like you guys pulled probably the biggest finesse in NBA trade history and you guys are still like not in a great position. I'm like fuck like uh so anyway LeBron's walking he's shopping the league right now trying to figure out where he's gonna go uh Giannis got traded he went to the heat oh Giannis to Miami Miami pretty much dumped like their entire fucking roster to make that trade so there's a whole bunch of new guys in Milwaukee uh Tyler Hero a bunch of guys been keeping up with Giannis is he still Giannis is still an incredible top five player easily he was top three I think he had an MVP case last season though I think the MVP race was really between Shay Jokic and Wemby I don't think there was really any discussion. He was like a but if if you're looking at fourth and fifth it was probably him and Jalen Brown maybe um Jalen Brown got traded in maybe arguably the worst trade since the Luca trade but because they've happened so close together it's probably going to be undermined because it's a really bad trade. They traded him for Paul George from the Sixers and a couple draft picks which is insane because Jalen Brown has I'm I don't I don't I don't understand it. That happened like yesterday other day before um Jalen Brown left the Celtics and he's now on the Sixers. Paul George goes to Boston wow terrible trade for Boston um I don't think anyone's been a fan of that trade um I'm trying to think John Morant got traded obviously they and the the sad thing is they've been trying to trade this kid for a minute because of all the off court bullshit and just the fact that he's regressed horribly as a player because of his injuries um he uh he got traded pretty much for like a bag of chips to like the uh Portland Trailblazers yeah um and they already traded back last season for uh Dame they got Dame back so I'm like you're gonna start Dame you're not gonna start Ja. Yes I mean even though Dame's a bit older um so I'm like I don't know is Ja coming off the bench you can't play them together there's no way defensively I don't know it's a really bad situation but uh yeah Ja Moran's career is looking like straight in the shitter. I don't know so yeah LeBron's still open game so that's gonna be the exciting watch is where's LeBron and he said he's open to a vet minimum. So he's like if you want to try to squeeze me in and try to see if we can get a fucking you know ring somewhere LeBron's being flexible. It's not all about the money which I respect um Lord knows he's got more than anyone needs but yeah yeah for sure uh it's been an interesting offseason a lot of moves being made I'm really hoping uh Denver I I would you know if they could make Denver work I I was hoping Jalen Brown because Denver did announce that they were interested in him. I guess they just couldn't pull a package together or just get anything that Celtics wanted. Uh but I just I'm like man Jokic's prime is just right now. And I'm like you gotta make it happen if you're gonna do it again. Yeah. And I hate to see any more of it get wasted. I mean Shays Shay's not even in technically what would be his prime he's still young the OKC has a million draft picks I mean the the GM there is one of the greatest GMs of all time with the maneuvers he's pulled for OKC the Nuggets won a couple years ago right yeah yeah I don't care about Jokic bro I don't like I don't give a chance it's like you've always said to see a guy like that play the way he does pull off the shit he does and pull up the stat lines he does like you watch him come you know 40 15 and 12 and you're like what the fuck kind of yeah and you look at the guy you're like how do you what it was just makes no sense he's dirk number two dirt too yeah like but uh they posted a picture of him recently he look kind of slimmed down a little bit I was like I wonder if that terrible early exit they had like kind of spoke the fire in him I don't know stop boozing a little bit like fucking I don't know what another video of him like singing poke at a bar so like he no I think I I don't think there's any like stopping him but yeah I could see him as the kind of guy who like when he locks in he could easily like put the extra mile he's a he's a will guy yeah he's like just sheer will like but yeah the Lakers gotta make it happen for Luca if Luca ends up being a ringless player now that the Knicks got their fucking ring I don't really have a I want the next season to go to Wemby I I want Wemby to get a fucking I actually was like 50-50 on it you know um the Knicks technically I'm supposed to hate the Knicks as a Nets fan because you know they have a it's same city rivalry that kind of thing um but the one thing that I did love about the Knicks is that A they don't have a top five player anyone that anyone put as a top five player there were no like superstars um there were a lot of B team players who got dumped from their teams because they didn't think that they were going to be the guy when they traded for Jalen uh when Jalen Brunson um a lot of NBA critics were like yeah you know yeah yeah you're like he's six foot he's so you like he they were like you'll never win with your best player on your team being six feet yeah like he's too small small guards are dead yeah yeah it's not how the NBA works anymore all the critics so it was great to see them with a big fuck you in a middle finger it was always it was kind of like a miracle in hockey situation.

SPEAKER_02

It was it was a Disney movie it was like everybody just like does what they fucking do and they do it properly. It was Mighty Ducks the the sum of what's what's the quote the sum of their parts the sum of their parts yeah it's greater than their parts individually exactly yeah like that's essentially what it was and I was like I love that let's fucking go yeah like no I mean the Knicks and they earned it handily I mean they won in five it's a gentleman's sweep so um but yeah I would like to see Wemby and the Spurs come back stronger and do it.

SPEAKER_04

Um it's wild man I mean that's one of the things I love about the NBA is just the parody like we haven't had the same champion in the same seven years. It's been different teams yeah um I think it's fun uh one of the big talks is that uh Golden State Warriors made some moves so so Draymond Green had a player option to opt to finish out the last year of his contract he declined it so he's technically a free agent right now but they said that the reason he did that is to clear space so that they can get LeBron to the Warriors. So like a reunion final final season for Steph and LeBron that would be that would be fire I'm not thinking they're winning a ring but like as a farewell season how fun would that be to watch LeBron and Steph. Because like it also a part of me also makes me sad because like we've seen it every time they play it's fucking cinema. It really is yeah it's it comes down to like a buzzer beater three or some crazy shit from half court from Steph. It's always absolute cinema to watch them play but it's one of the greatest rivalries in the NBA but um yeah I mean LeBron the LeBron's of the Warriors that would be pretty that'd be fire. That'd be pretty fire.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know we'll see I uh recently switching back to football yeah men's league sweaters who I made the no absolute truth hockey sweaters through had a limited edition like we're only making X amount of these uh and once they're gone hockey sweater okay based on the iconic US denim soccer jersey a denim soccer jersey you don't see that no uh so it wasn't obviously denim because nobody would fucking pattern but the pattern looked like denim and it was like all blanc stars going across it no you don't know this no dude you gotta show me this it's like the coolest fucking soccer jersey of all time Jamie pull that up it'd be so cool if we had a fucking Jamie yeah but it just wouldn't make sense without a video to a company to a company we need like a studio and an actual denim uh football jersey that's fucking nuts dude so it was this jersey and it looked like denim 94 okay no shit I don't remember this and they made a the they made a hockey jersey equivalent and I was like fucking order as soon as I saw it I was like order it's a long sleeve yeah it's a hockey okay hockey jersey sick um but they didn't fucking think of it in time it's not gonna ship until mid-July like I was like we could be knocked out by then and I would still you're not gonna wear a long sleeve I'll wear a fucking long sleeve and I don't give a shit dog yeah I wanted to get my uh my USA away when the one I sent you a picture of when we were out at the thing and I was like yeah I'm gonna like I in there it was like $150.

SPEAKER_04

I was like I'm gonna find some bootlegged this shit online. And anyway I was like I don't know how much longer we're gonna be in it. I could buy it and it could get here and fucking they're already out yeah that's after that red card last night that might be the end of our quarter that was that was tough. Bulligoon has the most goals for the team um a lot of people mad about that red card uh yeah I only saw high I didn't I'll be honest with you I only watch highlights uh I mean from the still it was a brutal I mean it looked like he was gonna snap that motherfucker's ankle off it it was ugly now I mean of course we talk about red cards is it incidental is it like an accident is it intentional um also one thing that's highly irregular is that they had to VAR it they usually if it's a red card it has to be apparent it has to be very apparent yeah yeah yeah um apparently VAR uh they went to the ref and were like let's review that because that looked crazy which is not normal for red card that's not how that should happen to be honest I'm usually on like the the side of like they're flopping let's let's VAR fucking everything oh everything let's let's fucking like why leave it to chance technology now why leave it because you got away with it or because the ref wasn't looking yeah yeah exactly yeah that is dumb on one hand I'm like yeah but also like let's fucking VAR Bosnia was getting away with murder in the first half I mean they were doing a lot of jersey pulling Pulisic was getting fucking they had a dirty thing where like fucking the goalie uh uh USA's goalie was on the ground and one of the Bosnian players walked by and pushed him back down yeah and there was no card on that I'm like come on bro like that's a clear yellow like putting your hands on the fucking goalie outside of the play just to push like that's insane dude like so that that's my big thing is that I the where I do like I said it it looked crazy from the video and the still yeah yeah yeah um I think it should have at least been a yellow but knowing how now that I know the rules about how they typically come to reds and how that ends up going there and also looking at just like the inconsistency from their officiating in general yeah it's not good it's not good up yeah but the fact that it happened to our best player arguably outside of Pulisic is uh it's pretty damning.

SPEAKER_02

Um yeah and we're gonna go against Belgium next uh it's gonna be a tough fucking game yeah um so also I was uh I was like oh fuck it I'll order this and I was thinking they'd have it out like by early July no and I was like oh you know what even if we're out of it I'll fucking wear it down to Myrtle like you know I mean like I was like fucking for Mike's master party and I was like fuck it let's run it up never know man we might be out there on this fucking next week hopefully if maybe it'll come in by then we don't know but uh but I was just like if I don't get to the main thing I was like 4th of July they they had it as a part of their like 250 series they had like this like like a few America America themed America themed joints for stars and stripes type shit yeah yeah and I'm like but you didn't do it early enough that it'll ship before fourth of July what are you fucking anyways yeah um they're like China man they fucking took too long the bullshit is they're all made in fucking Michigan bro I'm like what really no shit something like that Michigan or Ohio or some shit like that.

SPEAKER_04

Alright they're wildin' but yeah man you ready for this bachelor's yeah to be honest I I'm I'm hyping I'm also a little uh yeah scared me too I'm a little scared that's why I'm that's why I was glad I could get you in yeah yeah like uh I need I need people who are like my friends yeah like because like Danny being included was a big one but uh Danny can also like kind of be roped into the so I was like I need someone here reasonable so obviously uh you know with one of his groomsmen backing out I was able to get Eli in yeah because I I I initially when he backed out I was like who can I think of that like my texted that said that they were out uh that was my dad no one in the chat knew who the fuck that was dog I yeah I was like my dad's an animal dude I was like damn well I'm like you know what at the end of the day I'm like well too bad because you pay I'm I was like that's fine if you're out but uh you paid your money and I'm not giving it back because like I bought this fucking Airbnb yeah and I had to yeah I had to like fucking beg to get this fucking guy Eddie and to ask for an extra fucking guest over the limit.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah um I'll cut whatever that is out no no no it is what it is yeah but anyway but anyway so yeah that was my dad he was like uh he was like yeah I'm out he called me uh shortly Mike oh after after you made the chat he was like yo man I'm I'm really glad that like you're coming and I was like and that was during the time where uh he asked about uh Eddie and I was like I I had a text to you I was like if you need me to step back if you need me to step back I'll step back no big deal whatever yeah um and he was like yo I'm really glad you're coming I was like yeah me too man like yeah I don't and I hadn't heard back from you yet so like I was like Okay I didn't know this happened yeah I was like yeah hell yeah like that was it that was the whole conversation no it was just that and then we chit chatted for a little bit uh but uh yeah I didn't want to think I was bullshitting you that's why I sent you a screenshot I was like I actually I was like when I told Mike because I texted Mike I was like so listen I was like with your boys backing out I was like I haven't heard back I was like Mo said he can't go and I haven't heard back from Eddie on anything and he hasn't paid and I told everybody the deadline was last Friday.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I was like, here's he I was like, here's your roster. And he was like, cool, throw it at me. And I'm like, Seneca, Fred, Eli, me, Danny, you, Upo, and dad. And he was like, Upo's going? He was like, fuck yeah. And I'm like, all right, man.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, hell yeah. No, I also appreciated the the call, man. I was like, shit, all right, yeah, dope. Nah, he was dope. Um he was dope. But no, I was also like, after hearing uh Tony's uh leave a trippin' on acid friend story a couple summers ago, I was like, he told me. I gotta watch my fucking drink around the world.

SPEAKER_04

Fucking after we did the suit fitting, yeah. Uh it was in Northside by VCC. So like after we were like everyone was getting ready to leave, and Danny was like, What are you doing? And I was like, I'm probably gonna stop at my parents and I'm on this side of town. I was like, if you want to come have a beer by the pool, and he was like, Yeah, I'll do that. So Danny came over, and uh, you know, my mom and dad were in the back hanging out, and uh they were still filling the pool up, so it was like kind of shallow, so we're just like standing over there, got our fucking pants rolled up, you know, we're like feet deep in the water and hanging out, and my dad's there, and uh, you know, this is like right around the time when he like first started talking about going to the batcher, and so I was like, Danny, I don't know if you know my dad's a fucking like sociopath. And he was like, Yo, what do you mean, bro? That's your dad. I would have been walking around. I was like, I was like, Dad, you want to tell him some and he was like, Yo, bro, I got some stories, man. I would have been walking around like this the whole fucking putting fucking mescaline in people's ice creams kind of fucking insane person. Yeah, Danny had you got to hear all these stories, and yeah, I'm pretty sure like he was a little bit frightened after and you know Danny. Danny's yeah, Danny's gonna be like, oh, whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, my dad was like out here just legitimately like fucking date raping people. Like, okay. And leaving them, and leaving them. And just yo, he was like, I haven't seen that guy. He was like, I last saw that guy in like 1984.

SPEAKER_03

Uh yo, when your dad told me that story, I was like, it's yo, Danny was like, Are you fucking serious?

SPEAKER_04

Danny was shocked. Yeah, you gotta tell this motherfucker a story for Danny to be like, yo, that's fucked up. Yeah, he's like, yo.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. I'd like I'm I'm I'm used to like the the Indian social dynamics, so like your parents, friends, aunties, uncles, whatever. Yeah, like you just say cool. Yeah, no matter what crazy shit they say, you say cool, you're like cool, you agree, whatever. So when your dad was telling me that story, I was like, Wow. I was like, wow, what a story.

SPEAKER_01

But in my mind, I was like, you're a fucking psycho dog. My dad is uh, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Maybe things worked out for the best. Yeah, it might be that way.

SPEAKER_02

I was truly prepared to be walking around just hand over fucking top of my cup.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, shit, I don't blame you, dude. Um, but yeah, man, overall it should be a great deal. I'm hype, I'm hyped, I'm hyped for it. Should be fine.

SPEAKER_02

Also, it's the first like summery thing I'm actually doing like this summer.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and honestly, we don't get many chances to do like a guest trip.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think it'll be fun. Although, like, I'm not like a big beach guy, but like I'm like during the summer, like, let's go do some summer shit.

SPEAKER_04

That was the one thing I did want to make sure was that I got a house with a pool. Like a lot of the Oh, there's a pool? Yeah, man. Yeah, that was one of my big things. I wanted I wanted I wanted to make sure I got a house with a pool because a lot of the if you look at Airbnbs at any beach place, yeah, like you list entire home, not apartment, yeah, and like half of them shits are like condos on the beach. And I'm like, I fucking hate that shit. Yeah, yeah. So ours is actually not actually oh, I didn't even send you the fucking Airbnb. You weren't in the original. Oh. Those are the photos. It's got like a whole tiki bar. Yeah. It's not like a nice, nice house, but it's like a that's I mean that was one thing I was adamant about.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, I was like, we gotta have a pool. And I saw this, and I'm like, let's fucking run it up.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, awesome. So that was one thing I was adamant about was I was like, it's gotta be a house with a pool. Cause I was like, if there's one day like we're drinking or something, and we just like, oh, we want to just like hang out at the crib, like weather shitty, doesn't you know that you know we're not dependent on the beach. So we're actually in like a residential neighborhood, so it's a house. Dope. So that was the one thing I was adamant about.

SPEAKER_02

Um I'm actually now that I see that I'm super hype. Like also, I'm like always uh I'm cool with the beach. We can you know we're gonna be just beach. I mean, like I feel like there's we gotta do a one day for sure. Outside of that, whatever. But like to have water available that's not like salt water sand every area. You gotta fucking plant a whole day, you gotta have shade and all that shit. Fantastic. We gotta pool in the fucking bar. Also, the fact that there's an outdoor fucking bar. That's awesome. Sick. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_04

Look like it looked like a bachelor pad if I ever saw one. Um, there was a little bit of a better one that I'm actually a little excited.

SPEAKER_02

This is the first uh non-Indian. It should be a great time, man.

SPEAKER_04

And like I said, I talked to Mike, like I was like, yo, man, are you ready, Bob? I was like, you know, just to like hype him up, and he was like, Yeah, he was like, you know, Case, honestly, just want to have like a good time. Don't need to be like fucking crazy, blah, blah, blah.

SPEAKER_02

You say that, but like he he when we were on the phone together, he was like, Yo, man, you know, I'm just trying to keep it low.

SPEAKER_04

He says that. He's been saying that the whole time. He's like, you know, he's like, he's like, I don't want the wedding crazy. He's like you know, he's like, you know, I don't want Kara to hear that like we're wilding out, being dangerous, like, you know, we're going crazy, we're getting into fights and shit. I'm like, nah, man. I'm like, I don't, I don't want that either. I'm like, let's just have a good time. Nobody wants that. Yeah, like I'm like now, what is it called? Alpha Dogs. He'd be a character from Alpha Dogs. Okay, and not like a nice one. Yeah. 100%.

SPEAKER_02

I'm I'm I'm excited. Me too. Like it should be a great time. Like the only other bastard parties I've been to have all been for like have been like very uh there's like I'm as wild card as it gets at those at those things. Yeah. So like I'm the cr thing about like me being the crazy one right in a group of you know I mean like that is insane. Yeah, like everybody's super buttoned up, everybody's like, you know, and I'm I'm excited to have uh you're gonna be probably the calmest person there.

SPEAKER_04

Um I'm gonna have to keep my chill too just because the Airbnb's in my name, so I gotta make sure that like shit doesn't get out of control. Yep. Uh Eli never really goes like stupid. Like he likes to smoke, he likes to drink, but Eli's always pretty mellow. Like I said, Fred's pretty mellow.

SPEAKER_02

There's only been like a handful of occasions other than like the bar that me and Eli have hung out, but like every single time I'm like Eli's a vibe. Eli's always a vibe.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, like I said, he was kind of like my entrance into like partying and going out and stuff like that, and he was always like I mean, I used to go pretty stupid hard. Eli did too, but he was always like the the he would always be the first one to be like, yo, chill out, bro, don't do that, don't do that, don't do that, don't do that. He'd be yeah, he has a lot more experience than me in that regard, obviously, as an older guy. So yeah, it should be. I I think overall it's a great group of guys. I think it's gonna be fun. Um, so yeah, like I said, it my plan now is without my dad there to end up driving. And so, like I said, if you Danny and Eli, I think that'll make it comfortable for us to go ahead and fit in the car.

SPEAKER_05

Cool, yeah, I'm down, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And um I I didn't have like the the split second thought of like driving your own shit. Take my own shit in case shit hits the van.

SPEAKER_04

I need to fucking like I mean the the the big thing the the the easy thing is like I mean checkouts ten Sunday. Yeah. I'm not trying to I'm not trying to hang around. Yeah, it's a five hour drive. Yeah, I'm trying to just get on the road, get that shit done. So 10 minutes. That's my main thing, is like uh I'm not trying to be back late. I got homework, I got shit I gotta do. I'm not being there till 5 p.m. planning to get back at 10.

SPEAKER_02

Then I'm like yeah, then I'm riding with you. Yeah, because I'm not gonna there's something about like the the day getting back at a decent time getting back at a decent time for me is like clutch so important. Reset, you gotta fucking come back to baseline your high off indoor face. And I was like, I'll ride with y'all, but like Sunday we're leaving like 10 pass crack or dog like for me 10 is late, like yeah, but we're leaving at like 10, right? And they were like, Yeah, 100%. Sunday came around, they were like, Oh, you know, we're just gonna stay around for lunch too, and I was like, You done goofed, and I turned into Gremlin, the biggest brat I've ever turned into in my life. And I just like cross your arms, yeah. I just crossed yeah, cross brows on the day, and I just fucking sat there and I was like, I hate all of you people.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, I like all of you are wonderful, but uh I I I need to be by myself like this is when right now, like there's like a I don't know if you've seen the internet memes of like they're like when like white people or like like in different times of history were like people cooked and they were like unhand me. They were like white people cooked when they came up with that. That's the unhand me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Release me. Yeah, yeah, let me go. Yeah, do not make me stay in this fucking house with you people.

SPEAKER_02

The only person that could actually like talk to me was my nephew. Other than that, like if anybody else was talking to me, I was like What about brother-in-law?

SPEAKER_04

Or he's too close to Nisha to really like on a side.

SPEAKER_02

I think he to be honest with you, he knows he knows who I am. Yeah, he's just like, you know what? He thought he was leaving at 8 a.m. psych and he's not now, and uh now you're stuck. We're just gonna leave him alone. Like, if if brother-in-law talked to me, like it would have been fine, you know, whatever. Uh really I was just mad at like my my people's for like putting me in that position. I was like, I try not to be a brat for I try not to be a brat ever, but like every now and then you get pushed at the end.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just yeah, I'm just like you're like, I'm not I'm like I don't do this. I've been here for 48 hours. We've been here since Friday. Like if I had my car, I'd be out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like, uh, it goes back to that uh Bill Bird thing that I talked about on here before. I watched his last special and he was like, you know that fucking uncle that like nice drives like a fucking motorcycle or like a fucking hot rod that you thought was the coolest guy ever, but he was only ever around for 12 hours at a time because more than that was like too much for him. That motherfucker wasn't cool. Yeah, he had fucking problems. Like yeah, like and that was he's ever he's battling demons, yeah. Yeah, I was like, god damn it, dude. That's so me, dog. Like, yeah. You never thought about getting a motorcycle? Uh especially with devs. I've always wanted a motorcycle. The older I get, uh the more I'm I'm scared of what I would do on a motorcycle.

SPEAKER_04

Like you get too reckless, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like because I'm I'm reckless in a car and that's a cage, you know what I mean? Like and nobody sees it because I make a point to not be reckless if anybody else is in the car with me, but like you see me on the when you're dolo way to and from work, I'm fucking when you're driving to that cabin in the mountains, you're like Yeah, I'm fucking you're getting it.

SPEAKER_04

Getting it.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm like, Dog, I don't know if I can be trusted with a motorcycle. Like Yeah, Jesus. Yeah. I I've always wanted one. I don't think in good conscience I can get a motorcycle before I get a home.

SPEAKER_04

That's I think that's a really responsible decision.

SPEAKER_02

I think that if I get a home and then afterwards things have settled down and I can kind of know I can afford it, then uh then I'll get a motorcycle for sure. Because also, like if I get a home somewhere near the city, perfect.

SPEAKER_04

Like you gotta have a garage. Yeah. You gotta yeah, you gotta have somewhere to stash that bitch, otherwise, because motherfuckers steal them shits like fucking nobody's business.

SPEAKER_02

It's kind of like I'd love to if I was living somewhere near the city to be able to just like bop around on weekends like little cadaver racer. Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_04

Nice that's the vibe. Yeah, that's it 100%. Shit, man. We got a bachelor party coming up. Fuck. It's America's 250th this weekend.

SPEAKER_02

I got uh I got something else too. There's uh Mike's and then after that, oh we're doing like uh Indian the next week, maybe two weeks after Mike's uh me, Nishant, Neil, and Dev are like just going to the mountains for a weekend. Nice. And we're just gonna fucking bro out. And uh Neil hit me up a couple weekends ago and he was like, yo man, like Saturday morning, like hike you down, and I was like, I'm probably gonna be hungover.

SPEAKER_04

I'm like do you understand what we all do when we all get to like you you think of Friday night I'm hitting hitting the sack? Yeah, yeah, like 10.

SPEAKER_02

You should have seen Neil, like Neil's bastard party was during COVID, the tail end of COVID, and the first night we all got together after a year plus whatever it was of like not seeing each other, we were up until fucking uh 6 a.m. drinking. Yeah. I had to work the the next morning.

SPEAKER_03

What the fuck is wrong with you? You went to a bachelor party the night before you had a good what?

SPEAKER_02

Telework, but yeah, like you know, like Jesus Christ, dude. And I just couldn't I was like, Dog, do you really think we're gonna fucking like all get together for the first time in forever? The only person that's gonna be somewhat sober is gonna be Deb because he just He just has to He just can't be He can't be too loose. Yeah and uh I was like you're I was like hey man You're not thinking this through Yeah I was like I was like if you want to go I'll go with you It is with like I'll I'll fucking make it work but like I was like you're kind of barking up a uh you're writing a check that your ass can't cut I was like dog this is wild but sure like so we'll see what happens with that but uh Mr.

SPEAKER_04

Dululu over here we're gonna wake up on Saturday morning and be like uh fuck yeah fucking height I'm sorry that's not happening yeah um I hit up Dev uh to ask him if he had any old photos from like my DJing days. Uh I got hit up by uh an old homie of mine um who is a DJ out in Virginia Beach and he's starting a new radio show and asked me if I could record a mix for him. Oh and I was like oh fuck yeah man um so I'm working on a new mix, it's gonna be in the module series. Um but uh yeah it's pretty dope. Um I don't know if you're familiar with a lot radio in New York. No, it goes 24-7. You can watch a live stream of it any day. It's literally like a yard built of like shipping containers, uh-huh and they have like one shipping container that has like a DJ booth inside it. Dope. And they have DJs from every walk of life. It's like your local so-and-so to like big name DJs who just do pop-ups there. Nice, and it's a free venue. You literally walk into it, it's like a yard in Brooklyn. Um, so he's basically trying to do like a similar setup in Virginia Beach, and was like, I want to do like a lot radio out here kind of thing, where like we just have radios, we just have like DJs going all the time.

SPEAKER_02

Would you send him the mix or would you? So, yeah, for this I would send him the mix.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, he was like, Yeah, I'm trying to get it up. So, like uh, it's called uh what is it, low volume radio? Um and so that's his uh yeah. So he hit me up and he was like, Yo, man, can you can I was like are you down to do a mix for me? And I was like, fuck yeah, I'm fucking down to do a mix, man. So uh I'm I'm working on that right now, so that's exciting. So yeah, yeah, low volume radio out of uh Virginia Beach. So uh I'm stoked to work on that. Um, like I said, I hope like Dev has like a decent old photo of me that's be like worth closing up with my mix.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, dude, I I hate the fact that we were like like nobody took pictures.

SPEAKER_04

Bad Bunny made a whole album about it. Debitirás somos photos, man. Yeah. I should have taken we should you should have taken more photos.

SPEAKER_02

We should all take more photos. And we talk about this on a regular basis, and we still don't take any photos.

SPEAKER_04

Like I I do love the way that like Gen Z has kind of pushed back on that, and like there's been like a huge push on social media to be like, you know what, man? Everything on social media right now, way too curated, way too edited, way too yeah, uh optimized. Like, take that awkward photo and post it. Like, don't worry about fucking is it the right filter? Is it that you know just just post shit that you got going on? Yeah, post random photos of shit that you see that's cool. Stop making everything a branding or a fucking whatever opportunity. I do I do think that that's a really cool push. I don't know that it'll ever overtake the level of consumerism and commercialism that's happened to social media. I think that wave is already gone. Yeah, but I do think it's cool that people are organically like, you know what? Fucking post that dumb photo where you may not look the best. Just like yeah, do it, dude. Just take the take the fucking pictures. Take pictures. Yeah, I don't know. Take pictures, record videos, have fun. Like, keep the memories because eventually you're gonna look back and be like, damn, it's been like three years and I don't really have that much.

SPEAKER_02

I think for most of us, yeah, it was always a pushback against the like let's break up what's happening right now, yeah, to take a photo.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think that's what happened. For me, it was a rebellion of being like, don't live behind the camera. 100%. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you know, don't make moments Instagrammable.

SPEAKER_02

Fucking moments are just just living. I think that's what happened. It's like we were all just like, I hate to fucking be pretentious about it, but like for our late twenties, at least my late 20s, it was in the moment, and there was no like let's fucking.

SPEAKER_04

I got this as a gift for uh Christmas from uh like a gift bag. Taking this with us. Hell yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Let's do it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, fuck yeah. I'm gonna be taking that bitch. Um yeah, man. I got it.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, like I do also regret the same time of like us pushing back against like the whole like Instagram of everything. And I don't want to take a pooch. I don't want to take a fucking picture, but like I'm like, yeah, from the heyday, we have very few actual like photos.

SPEAKER_04

Like the times where we reminisce the most.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, 100%.

SPEAKER_04

Where we're like, yeah. It's it's crazy, man. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Like the the fucking afternoons I've spent at Zelaya's house fucking helping him on his car or on his yeah, whatever.

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, dude, there's nothing that actually other than the memories, there's no there's no actual so if I get it. God forbid the day one of you guys dies, like it's just memories that get that shit around. Yeah, there's nothing else. There's nothing else for you to eulogize over. Which is like if if Zelaya, if Zelaya died and his mom was like, please share all the photos you have. Oof, you'd be like, fuck.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if if one of Zelaya I only have like one. Yeah, one of Zalaya has a recent fucking near-death experience. I don't have one death.

SPEAKER_04

If Zelaya got crushed by that truck, I'd have nothing to contribute to. Yeah, yeah. Me neither. I have you would legitimately look at us like, what the fuck is wrong with y'all?

SPEAKER_02

Y'all hang out with my son like all the time, and y'all don't have a fucking picture of this dude. I have one awkward picture that Martinez like whipped out his phone at what's a burger spot near U of R. Jack Browns? Jack Brown's of like Zai just Martinez just whipped his phone up and just took a picture of me and Zalai. Martinez is great about that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

He like I said, we randomly went to Jack Brown's the other day. We were in the alley and he randomly took a picture, like just random shit like that. Like, we gotta do more of that. 100%. Let's when we go to the bachelor party, let's do it.

SPEAKER_02

He also that up he fucking Martinez. There was like a night that we went to one of Jay's gigs when he was still here. Right. And he What was this at uh Vagabond? Yeah. Okay. And I was like, oh, you took a few photos last night. Uh let me know if uh send me whatever you got. Yeah, yeah, send me a good shot. And uh he sent me a picture of me looking like I was on Coke because it looked like I had lockjaw. I was like, like, and then four or five months later, he was oh yeah, I have this picture of you and Jay. It was me and Jay just doing like the fucking whatever, and I was like, but it was a good picture. Why did you send that? Yeah, yeah, exactly. I was like, This guy's keeping him in. I was like, bro, you're fucking you're you're bullshitting right now.

SPEAKER_03

You're just bag. Yeah, Jesus fuck.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah, I that's the one thing I do respect about, you know. I mean, Gen Z's Gen Z gets gets their points. I mean, like I said, they have way less tolerance for bullshit than millennials. I think millennials like very much adopted like the whole like I think the only shit sucks, and we just gotta grin and bear it, even though we don't like it. Gen Z's 100% like, nah, I'm not gonna do this.

SPEAKER_02

The only thing I I dislike actively about Gen Z culture is their weariness towards cringe because everything is online, so like there's a lot of things where it's like like they're not um and it's the same thing I hate about myself, like I don't I don't put myself out there, I don't shoot my shot, I don't there's a big part of Gen Z where it's like it's like oh yeah, everything's fucking recorded, so we're not gonna fucking really do anything because God forbid someone's recording. Passion is corny now. Like having passion for something or or like caring about things now is corny and like trying is corny. And I'm like, that's not corny. Trying is that.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know if I would attribute that to Gen Z. I think it's just social media in general. Now everything's so curated, you know. Everyone's like it's like the lack of organicness to it. And I I'm not I don't feel like I'm saying anything like to me.

SPEAKER_02

It seems like it's like it's grunge without grunge. It's just like it's like uh yeah, trying is fucking corny, but like the it's like the the opposite of trying the inauthenticity, yeah. It's like it's very it's just it's it's just like kind of bland. Right.

SPEAKER_04

Whereas it's like you're not no it it's it's a hundred percent uh you're right.

SPEAKER_02

You're not having too good of a time because if you're having too good of a time, that's fucking cringe. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_04

Like you know, it's it goes back into like a lot. Of the people want to people document the success without the grind. Yeah. The grind isn't what gets celebrated. It's the success. Yeah. You know, it's the someone posts an Instagram story where they've made it and they're like, you don't know what I went through. And it's like, well, I don't know. You didn't fucking post it. You weren't you didn't post it when you're grinding. Like you fucking post it when you make it. They're like, I respect that, but like, and and I feel like that's a lot of it is that like people people don't people understand that you gotta fail a lot to get good at something. Yeah. But they don't want to post them failing. 100%. They just want to be posted succeeding. That's the thing. Like people want the cloud of success without like the stigma of failing. People don't want to be out there failing.

SPEAKER_02

I think I also think that's like my biggest flaw is uh Oh, beautiful. Um it's golden hour, how to do it. I think my biggest flaw is that like I didn't fail enough as a kid. So failure to me is such a big fucking deal. Alienating. And everybody, everybody who's who is successful says you just gotta fucking get through it. Get through it, eat failure, fail and times, whatever. Yeah, take your licks and dogs. There's something about failing to me that is the most anxiety-provoking fucking like it'll never not be that, dude.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, I remember like I said, me and Jay, the times where we face like just like empty dance floors or like equipment failure out DJing. I mean, dude, it's full-blown panic anxiety attack. It is a miserable experience. Yeah, you go through it, and all it teaches you to do is prepare and get better and never let that happen again.

SPEAKER_02

And I think to add to that, it's also like why me shooting my shot with women is also such a such a fucking like like failure and like I don't know what it is, man. Like there's something that shit is tough, dude. It's because shit just like kind of like everything else in my life kind of came easy to me.

SPEAKER_04

I don't think like I don't you know what now that you bring it up, I don't think that there's anything that really lessens that blow in particular, because like it's the way that companionship has always been framed. It's always been it's always been framed as this thing of like a good woman will complete you. Or like for women too, like you need a good man, yeah. But you know, it's always been this thing of like that that no no person is wholly complete in their life, like companionship will complete your life, yeah. It will allow you to have kids or get married or combine finances and do whatever the fuck, whatever, it doesn't matter. So I I think that that's a reason that like when it comes to quote unquote failure on that level, like to actually bridge that gap and to like link your life to someone else, like rejection outward whenever you approach someone, is always like it always just hits harder in a way that like I don't think there's anything else in life that can prepare you for it unless you just do it a bunch.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think like it there's a there's a wisdom to the and you don't gotta be disrespectful to actually get slaps, but there is a wisdom to the hundred slaps situation where as long as you're respectful and you get a hundred no's and you respect the no's, you become resilient to that block.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_02

So you say no, you you get a no and you move on, like yeah, and I just need to get to the point where like I get a no and I fucking move on.

SPEAKER_04

But it's it's always hard to start. It is, man. It's always hard to start, dude. Rejection is a terrifying thing, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um, so yeah, that's uh there's something I think it's just like that most things in my life that I've tried.

SPEAKER_04

I feel like too, like we've been in I've been there with you in situations where I'm like, this is this is this is a home run bunt. Like you could have had it. Like when we were out in St. Louis the first time, we were on Cherokee Street outside of the bar waiting for the Uber. Yeah, and we just randomly were just talking to two girls smoking a cigarette, and we're just like hanging out, smoking. Obviously, like we have no aims, like we're not gonna holler, we're just like, hey, how you how you guys night going? Blah blah blah. And they were to be like, Oh, we're going to this after party, blah blah blah. I was like, if we were in that mind right now, this is uh this is a this is a this is a layup. This is an alley oop. Yeah, you could totally turn this into like, oh, where's the after party and blah blah blah? And me and you both realized that we were like, okay, well, you guys have a good night. Yeah. Like, because this wasn't the night we were looking for. You know, yeah, yeah. It's like, you know, I'm not trying to be like, yo, oople, I gotta get you to hook up with someone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was not the night. We're the same original visiting we had a blast that night too. That was one of the best nights out I've had ever. It was so great, dude. Just like I said, the jukebox plain Jane story is like my favorite. I was like, what the fuck? The jukebox isn't working. Dog. Plain Jane nine times a day. It was insane. Dude, oh man, what an that was so much fun. That was the best. That and then the fucking Nacho Bel Grande story. Out of control. Out of control. It was one of it was one of the funniest nights I've ever had. What a blast. I've I can't remember. Waiting for homie to get back, bro. Oh my fucking god, dude. 30 minutes outside of this motherfucker's house, waiting for him to get back from his. I was like, dude, if you don't fucking open this goddamn door, like next time just leave a fucking key. Yeah, I'm sorry. That's it. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, that was one of my favorite nights out ever. It was we had a blast. Amazing.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, we just literally, it was also there's something about being like in a place that's not your city.

SPEAKER_04

Out in another town is that just like lets you just fucking we could have had the same vibe if Martinez wasn't there. Love you, Martinez, but goddamn, you were the biggest wet blanket the entire time. Every night, I I went out ready to be like, we're gonna have a great night. And we'd sit down and I'd be like, What are you guys drinking? And Martinez, first one. I'm not drinking it, I don't feel like it. I was like, I was like, and I was like, you know what? Honestly, I don't know why I felt any pressure.

SPEAKER_02

That's but that's what I was gonna say.

SPEAKER_04

The fact that he would start the night like that, I think that's the thing is like I can't drink tonight.

SPEAKER_02

I'm so used to being like the lush in this crew, so that I'm like, I don't care. That's fine. Like, whatever. Yeah, whatever. Like fun, bro. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Fucking fucking loser, like fucking make sure you strap me in tight. Like, fuck you, dude. I'm getting shit. Like, I mean, and like I said, like it wasn't like we were being hot boys, we were Ubering everywhere, no one driving from. Like, it was totally free reins. Nothing crazy was happening, it just got too much. I don't know. It was like something about Martinez that just like makes me be like, you know what, I can't drink tonight. It it's he's like my he's like my totem. It was like my fucking totem.

SPEAKER_02

Smidge of just like uh guilt. Guilt guilt, yeah. Yeah, there's like a little guilt there.

SPEAKER_04

Like, why do I need a drink to have a good night? Yeah, yeah. Even though that first night, uh after the dinner where we fucking almost got in a fight, and then fucking we ended up going to the wine bar, and that was a great night. That was that was a great night. But anything outside of that, I felt like I don't know, man.

SPEAKER_02

Like I I had a decent the first time we went out was definitely like the the first night of Cherokee Street was like peak peak peak 10 out of 10.

SPEAKER_04

Um great time.

SPEAKER_02

But no, like I don't know, man. Like maybe it's because like I don't I get drunk all the time.

SPEAKER_04

The night where like I I wanted to turn up was the night we were walking up and down that block, and we ended up in that bar that was kind of like we were like this would be St. Louis Belly, and there was the dude playing the weekend, and there was like a line of people trying to buy like fucking fried chicken or whatever the fuck they were making.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

There was that night where me and you ordered an IPA and fucking Kevin was like, nah, I'm good. And like I was like, I was like, Martinez, you want anything? He was like, nah, man, I'm not, I don't feel like drinking. And me and you looked at the other, and we just had one IPA each, and like you, me and you were like, It's our last night. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, let's do it, let's go. And they were like, nah. And I was like, Yeah, all right, guys. Well, like, what are we doing? Yeah, well, like, why are we out? Like, let's go fucking play cards at the fucking Airbnb. Let's go, yeah, let's go laugh at The O Vaughn and watch Luka Doncic fucking highlight like what are we doing? Like, that could have been a great night, but these guys were not about it. And I'm like, okay, well, I mean, yeah, and like I said, I don't I don't want to fucking be like you guys gotta drink with us.

SPEAKER_02

Like, no, yeah, there's there's something to be said about like like yeah, we people that don't have to to tie one off to have a good time. But also, like, I'm just like, you guys don't also like okay, that's fine, but also like you don't seem like you're having that good a time.

SPEAKER_04

Good of a time, yeah, yeah. 100%, yeah, yeah. You guys just sit in there talking about food. Like I'm like, no one's fucking hungry. Like go get fucking tater towers, whatever the fuck they're making or whatever it is, go get that, and then we can fucking have fun.

SPEAKER_02

I've never I've never uh been out with Zeliah since he's like gotten sober. Yeah. And like felt that of like of like, oh yeah, you know, like there's some weirdness going on here. It's just like there's uh Yeah, I I can't tell you what it was, but man, there was a little bit of I'll be honest, after the the the dust up that we had, the the smidge of a dust up that we had.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah, it was yeah, it the shit was a little It got shaky, but anyway, yeah. I mean I that that first time we went out. Um like I said, unfortunately, the second time I thought it was gonna be the same. And the the fucking thing that pisses me off the most is that we came back and Martinez was like, Yeah, man, I don't know. Like, I feel like we would have just like turned up more.

SPEAKER_03

And I was like, you motherfucker. It was the same thing as I was like, we're punching about it.

SPEAKER_02

It was yo, it was the same thing as Rex. It was the same thing as Rex and fucking France. He did it to us.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, on the on the Uber ride home from Rex. You guys were at literally the most famous house club in all of fucking Paris.

SPEAKER_03

And and it was just getting good, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And he was like, Let's leave.

SPEAKER_02

No, so I'll I'll be fair. The the plan was because we were leaving the next day, he was like, We gotta be out by whatever time. Right. So we can't get home. So we can't get home. You gotta be up early. But like when we were there, me and Zelaya were like fucking catching a vibe. Yeah, we were we were we were catching a vibe, and we were kind of just like pretending like the the the end time wasn't coming up, yeah. And Martinez was the person that came up and was like, hey guys, uh we agreed. We agreed, we're gonna fucking and then on the fucking Uber ride home, we should have we could have just stayed. Like it was cool.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, dog, fucking torture, yeah. The grim fucking reaper.

SPEAKER_02

Zelaya was vibing out with the house music, Shem was doing his thing, I was falling in love with this bartender, and Martinez was the grim reaper of good music. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I will give him this. Without Martinez being on that trip with us, you would have never made your flights.

SPEAKER_04

You would have never been on top.

SPEAKER_02

Me and Zelaya would have fucking You guys would have woke up in a ditch. Yeah, 100%. Like we would have been out of control.

SPEAKER_04

It would have been the hangover.

SPEAKER_02

100%. Yeah, yeah, yeah, 100%.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So he all he offered a lot of fucking saving grace. Saving grace and pluses and stuff like that, but like that was the one time where I was like pull you guys out of Rex at prime time.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, man. On your last night in France. Crazy fucking nasty work.

SPEAKER_02

I fucking man. I I need to go back to Paris. I'm not gonna lie. I'm telling you. I can't wait. And I've been trying to rack my brain on like how a uh another cross-Atlantic trip would work. Zelaya is kind of locked into his business right now, so he's probably not down.

SPEAKER_04

Me and Celeste are there, like we're ready to do that.

SPEAKER_02

I just like I need to hit essentially what needs to happen is what happened then. Yeah, me and Zelai were on the phone. And we were like, Flights are cheap, we're booking, we're booking the flights right now. Everything else will come later. And as long as you have the flights booked, figure out you gotta figure out the rest, right? So like that's the main thing is like I need one other person or you and Celeste or whoever to just like say we're in. To say you're in let us know when. Not not even just say say you're in, lock it in. Like, we need to buy flights from six months from now.

SPEAKER_04

You know, like we need to honestly, we just need this shit with Iran to just chill out so that deep uh diesel fuel can fucking go down again. Once jet fuel goes down, I'm in. I'm in the world.

SPEAKER_02

Because dog I I want to go back to Europe. I want to go back to Italy for French for sure. I'll say back to Italy, but I want to go to Italy, but like even if it's like fucking five days in France, dog.

SPEAKER_04

Like me and me and Celeste would like to do France in a way that's like maybe like two weeks, and we do like a week in Paris and like a week in wine country. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that'd be fire. Actually, see the countryside and just like yeah, also the idea.

SPEAKER_02

The the French countryside is that's how we want to do it. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Um, yeah, Paris and countryside. So absolutely, I mean that's our that's our plan for well, not next year. Next year is Celeste's 40th, and we have that already locked in. She wants to do a safari. She said for 40th, she wants to do African safari. She wants to die by the swipe of a lion. That's how she wants to die.

SPEAKER_02

Dog, the safari thing to me is so insane that I'm like so much money.

SPEAKER_04

It's so much money.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not even I'm not even talking about the monetary aspect of it.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, just wanted to do it.

SPEAKER_02

Like no, for me, it's so insane that people want to go to Africa. That the only thing that is stop No, no, no, chill up. I actually want to go to South Africa, uh Johannesburg. I'm yeah, fuck yeah. But the fact that there's a fucking giant cat that will bite your fucking face off.

SPEAKER_04

It could literally just swipe your whole life away.

SPEAKER_02

And the only thing that's stopping it is the fact that it doesn't recognize this fucking Jeep that you're in.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Until it does. And then there's a first person that's gonna get swiped in a fucking Jeep.

SPEAKER_04

You're gonna be gonna go viral.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm like, could be you. At some point, we've been going over there on Safari for how long now? I don't fucking know. Like decades, right? Like at some point these lions are gonna fucking be like, oh, there's meat in there.

SPEAKER_04

It ain't safe, it ain't safe, it ain't safe.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I'm like, I'm like, I don't want like I have no fucking desire to go to on Safari, but um I mean Celeste's always said that if she was gonna die anyway, that would be her ideal way to die. And I wish she was here because I could say it again, I don't believe her. It's it's I mean, take it or leave it.

SPEAKER_04

She's but uh you know she's not all there, but yeah. I love her the same.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there's a Paris like Paris.

SPEAKER_04

You like Paris over London?

SPEAKER_02

100%.

SPEAKER_04

Really? Yeah. Even though London you almost got bagged. Did I? Yeah, she said she liked your accent. Oh, I didn't.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and I fucking and I fucking ran into this old lady fucking you fucking bitch.

SPEAKER_04

No, there's something romantic about uh just But you didn't get the Paris syndrome where you're like it's so gross and disgusting. You haven't heard about that? Like people who people who there's a whole like uh psychological thing about it about people who romanticize Paris and then they go there and it's like it's a city, so it's like full of trash. Oh, you know, like oh, it's so gross, like it destroys them. I was uh expecting Paris syndrome.

SPEAKER_02

I was expecting to hate Paris. Yeah. And you loved it. I think the main thing is people in America go over there with their American sensibilities and think it's like fucking that people there are rude or they don't like Americans or whatever. But I'm like, I just don't think they like rude people. Yeah. So nobody that were just like act like you're in someone else's country, yeah, exactly. And you'll be fine. Zelai the whole time was like trying his best to like throw a little bit of French in. Yeah, yeah, throw a little French in. He was like doing his And it went a long way, I'm sure. And it went a long way. It was no dirtier than any American city that's yeah, go to New York. And the first time I went to Manhattan proper outside of Queens, I saw a dead pigeon in a fucking mailbox. Like, I don't I don't give a shit what you're talking about, like Paris being dirty.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's just being a big city, yeah. That's what happens.

SPEAKER_02

There's that, and then uh also the people there were nice, bro. I don't know. The most rude person we ran into was in London, was a cab driver in London. But no shit. I'm uh I'm torn between like going to revisiting Paris, because I definitely want to, or Italy.

SPEAKER_04

The thing with Italy is that there's so many different cities. Yeah. Like you want to do Venice, you want to do Milan, do you want to do Venice?

SPEAKER_02

Rome, Rome, Rome and Venice are the two for me that I want to Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's it's tough, man. I mean, that's the biggest thing is that you have to plan out like what cities you want to go to, like what you want to see. I mean, obviously, Venice is a big one because it's gonna vanish into the sea within our lifetime, probably.

SPEAKER_02

But outside of that, it's the other thing for me is also like the good thing about the Euro trip when we took it was I had a road dog at Zelaya. Yeah, and Zelaya was still drinking, and we drank our way through three fucking cities and some of the Irish countryside. Um fair enough. I don't know unless V actually commits to something, which he probably wouldn't for a cross-country or cross-Atlantic trip. That's the only like road dog I think I have left. Well is like V, like where it's like all day. Let's fucking the first place we go, tying it off. We're tying it, we're we're going to a bar, and then we're going to the next bar, and then we're going to the next bar, and we're just fucking going through it. And that's I think that's the biggest thing for Paris for me. Was like we had one uh we had like two days there, but one day didn't really count because we were just like fucking bipping and bopping and fucking going to meet up with Oscar cousin or whatever, and that was great. Especially because he took us to a spot that we wouldn't have normally gone and blah blah blah. But uh the next day we s we probably walked, I don't know, 10-15 miles, and every mile or so me and Zelaya are like, oh, there's a bar here, let's fucking pop in there, grab a beer, you know, like and uh I don't know that there's that experience that is still like within the crew for me. Where it's like um because I I want to go somewhere and I want to be a lush. Yeah, I mean like I that's vacation. That's vacation, yeah, yeah. And I'm like, who got it? Yeah, who's who's down? Like, and yeah, I need a Danny's bitch ass. I think I think V needs to sign up for a cross-Atlantic trip.

SPEAKER_03

But uh being said, anything else going on with you?

SPEAKER_04

Anything you want to cap it off with? Like I said, I got my mix coming out soon through low volume radio. I'm excited about um uh Upo did buy me for my 36th birthday a copy of the book Mystic River. Uh, we're gonna be doing a little bit of an out-of-season introspective on that. Yeah, we're gonna be comparing the book versus the film, so spoilers abound. Um, but yeah, we'll be doing that in the next couple weeks, so that'll be coming. Hell yeah. Anything else you got in the books? I mean, obviously I've been listening to uh Matt Draper. He has a YouTube uh channel that he does like retrospectives of like, talks about a lot about horror and film and stuff like that. Um and he does this thing called Summerween, where like obviously like a lot of his stuff centers around horror, so like October's a big month, and like obviously the last tail end of the year, but he does like a summer ween thing, it's kind of like a buildup to it where he just kind of like uh does like something like uh bigger in anticipation of that. And so his one this year was he did a list of uh top 66 slasher films. Oh, and it was interesting because uh slasher's kind of been one of the genres of horror, as big as a horror fan of I am, that like I'm kind of lacking in. And so there's a bunch on that list that I'm gonna drop into my October run that I do 30 for 31.

SPEAKER_02

I will be following because it is my favorite fucking great horror.

SPEAKER_04

Um obviously we're gonna have our group uh pod introspectives that we do with the crew. Um but yeah, I'm probably gonna start delving into that soon, in addition. Um, I'm gonna be doing like some soft horror touches as we approach September, and that's kind of like the pregame up until my 31 for 31.

SPEAKER_02

And if we want to do introspective yet again, we started off with true detective. So that was the beginning. Whatever fucking introspectives you want to do, even if it's pre-horror season, you let me know, and I'll fucking watch it and we'll fucking do it. But uh I I definitely want to do one on Mystic River.

SPEAKER_04

I'm trying to think of anything like fun on TV that I've seen that like makes me want to do it. I mean uh I I think Knights of the Seven Kingdoms was a fun one. I just don't know what we could do for a pod. Like, do you think we could do a fun pod? Just like one recap of the season.

SPEAKER_02

With Knights of a Seven Kingdom, I think we could do it because it's what 25 minute episodes.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's like a seven, eight.

SPEAKER_02

And we could probably season we could probably do it in like one shot.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I think not being in the pandemic anymore. Yeah, doing like a an episode by episode is probably not too real.

SPEAKER_04

Unless we do it with something live and we release it every week. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've got to be releasing it like Monday after it exactly.

SPEAKER_02

So, like, I don't think that's very realistic with yeah, post-pandemic schedules, but like uh I still I still do want to do the Evangelian one. Um I I I didn't I actually it it popped up on my thing again recently, and I was like, shit, I forgot about that.

SPEAKER_04

I'm getting my fucking ass kicked by this semester um because it's some so much faster paced. Oh, so so it I I do want to do Evangelian. Um if you want to do a long deep dive form, let's keep that on the dais. Uh I do like that one. Um because yeah, you've only watched the you haven't watched anymore. I watched uh we were gonna break it up between one to five. There's like five episodes.

SPEAKER_02

I think maybe divide by three or something like that. Like so I watched the first third of it. Okay. And then we never talked about it again. And I was like, all right.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so so then yeah, let's let's plan for that. We've got Mystic River coming up next, obviously, book versus movie. Um, and then I would say yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I'll re-listen to the book and I will re-watch the movie. So you yeah. If you're down, then I'll I'll start that like tomorrow.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, like I said, I just finished the book literally today and uh phenomenal read. Uh incredible. As someone who's been just like into horror, it's like Yeah, I don't know. A cleanser on the palette, yeah, yeah. To be like able to read just like a straight up novel. Yeah. That's like just a noir, and it's uh yeah, it's a it's a palette cleanser for sure.

SPEAKER_02

I mean I'm glad you liked it at least because you have very different tastes in books.

SPEAKER_04

Like the first like week that I was reading it, uh, my director came in as she was walking over, and I'm always the first one in the office. And so she was walking by and she was like, Oh, she was like, She's like, That's the same. I was like, Yeah, it's the same uh book as the movie, and she was like, You've seen it, right? And I was like, No. And she was like, What the fuck? Yeah, it was like you've never seen Mystic Ripper. She was like, When were you born? I was like, 1990. She was like, You've never seen Mystic Ripper. What? She's like, It's incredible, you gotta go see it. So, anyway, obviously, yeah, I gotta watch the movie and follow up.

SPEAKER_02

I still remember uh what there was like a a coworker I kind of had a bit of a crush on, and she was like a big reader, and I walked into her office once and she was like mid-book, and she like put it down for a second, and I was she was like, You been reading anything? And I was like, Well, you know, I listen, but like Yeah, um, this is like pretty soon after I finished Mystic River for the first time, and I was like, Dennis Lahane, Mystic River, and she was like, Okay, I'll put it on the list, and I was like, Yeah, it's the uh She asked me a couple questions, but I was like, It's the closest I've been to to tears. Yeah. Uh on like a piece of paper. That emotional response. And then like later on in the conversation, she was like, Yeah, I mean, if it brought you to tears, I was like, no, no, no, like pause. Pause. I ain't cried.

SPEAKER_03

I do crazy words on paper, like chill out.

SPEAKER_04

Relax, lady. Fucking chill out. Yeah, all right. But yeah. You call me a fucking thank whoever's listening. Hope you guys enjoyed. We got some fun stuff coming up. Uh, just gotta get through some of the schoolwork. Yeah. Um, I'm sure we'll have some stories from the Bachelor Party. But uh that's next week. Peace.

SPEAKER_05

Love y'all, love y'all.
