#257 Why are the stands empty at IBJJF 2022 No-Gi pans? Event Recap
Show Notes

This week on the show Maine and Zak recap the 2022 IBJJF No-Gi Pans.  We also recap UWW USA standings, and preview BJJ Stars and EBI 20 the Absolutes.

In the recap section of the show we talk about and recap every black belt adult final for both the mens and woman's finals across all the divisions, we talk about some changes in the meta, and the frequent turtling on positional changes brought on by ADCC, as well as the leg locks being used as positional tools. We also discuss some of the rules issues that still exist in the IBJJF that make the events not spectator friendly.

In the recap of UWW we discuss team USA winning the team title for the first time ever and the team USA standings for the event, as well as with the help of Team USA captain and +120 kg winner John Hansen talk about some of the moments of the event. https://uww.org/event/world-championships-78?section=results if you are looking for event results in depth.

In the preview section we discussed BJJ Stars 9 Superfights  including Mica Galvao vs  Isaque Bahiense and Samuel Nagai vs Fabricio Andrey, plus more matches.

In the preview for EBI 20 the Absolutes we discuss the entrants and discuss the ADCC top seeds.  Between Nick Rodriguez, Giancarlo Bodoni, Hasim Rida, and Kyle Boehm, plus other entrants, trials winners and ADCC contenders rounding out the mix.
