This week on the grappling rewind podcast Maine and Josh preview the week’s upcoming professional events. As well as a huge interview with ADCC event organizer for 2019 and 2021.
Kicking off the weeks show we get into news. Nicky Ryan has received his brown belt, after his ADCC 2019 performance. Maine talks about plans to do more live event coverage moving into 2020. As well as other pro BJJ and Grappling News.
Then Maine and Mo Jassim talk about all things ADCC 2019 and ADCC 2021. Mo talks about potential changes to the matted area and the implementation of a safety boarder. Proposed changes to the woman’s division, and the implementation of additional weight classes. We talk about possible united stated locations for the ADCC 2021 event, and some challenges that come with hosting the event. We also talk about the scoring of ADCC and the history behind some of the decisions that structure the rules.
In the preview section of the show we take a look at Fight to Win 128 in Philadelphia PA. This card is headlined by a rematch between the +99 kg champion at ADCC and the runner up. Kaynan Duarte rematches Nick Rodriguez only a few weeks after their finals match. We talked about the Co Main Event a Black Belt Featherweight No-Gi Title with Joao Miyao vs Lucas Pinheiro. We also talk about Isaque Bahiense vs Felipe Cesar Silva in a match that is sure to showcase aggressive action. Also on this card is FOTY contender Mike Padilla vs Enrico Cocco. Dylan Royce takes on ADCC 2019 Vetran Valdir Araujo Jr. BB Monstro, Will Dill takes on Fight to Win title holder Daniel Maira. And Kristian Woodmansee takes on Dustin Ordinario.
In out preview of BJJ Stars we talk about the top names in the Openweight including Nicholas Meregali, Leandro Lo, Hulk, and more. Plus some outstanding other matches on the card including Bianca Basilio vs Ana Schmitt, Roberto Godoi.
Also in the previews section we preview the King of the Mats 7 the Absolute that was featuring Gordon Ryan but he was forced to withdraw due to a hand injury. This event features Dante Leon, Quentin Rosenzweig, Roberto Jimenez, Aaron Harris, Kyle Boehm, and more.
After that in the outro section of the show Maine and Josh talk about how busy they both are and how little sleep everyone is getting, also that the Grappling Rewind takes about 30-40 hours a week to produce and run.
