Patrick Brochu:

My nose has been broken so many times I can just pop it.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

You're lying. No, no. What are you moving your teeth? Stop it.

Patrick Brochu:

What are you talking about?

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

What are you shifting? It's not your nose. Stop playing with me Patrick Brochu.

Patrick Brochu:

All right. Let's get to this.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Welcome back everybody. It's another episode of-

Patrick Brochu:

Well Seasoned the Podcast featuring Staceyann Marie Van Horne Doria, CMP adn your main man Patrick Brochu.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Every time I'm with you it proves I need to start drinking earlier than I should. Well, we're back. It's episode number six? Seven?

Patrick Brochu:

No, we're at episode 8.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Are we?

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Oh my gosh, you guys are creeping into that double digits. Oh my gosh, we're about to run out of fingers. Have to use toes next.

Patrick Brochu:

And this week's episode is a spook tacular! HA ha ha ha.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Oh my god. Wow. I'm actually questioning what you were drinking this morning.

Patrick Brochu:

Too much caffeine. That's all. That's all.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Oh, my goodness. So yes, today we have a Halloween themed episode, even though I hate Halloween, and I turn off my porch lights and I don't give out candy and I sit in the back of the house.

Patrick Brochu:

That's evil.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I know. And?

Patrick Brochu:

That's evil.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I don't care. But I do go out the day after Thanksgiving. Or Christmas. What is the holiday?

Patrick Brochu:

For those of you that are listening not in real time, this episode is the COVID Halloween. Have any of our listeners out there seen any of those creative ways that people are looking to give candy this year? I've seen somewhere they've taken Nerf guns and kind of transformed them to where they shoot candy.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

No man, people are doing the most. Just turn off your lights. It's okay.

Patrick Brochu:

Listen.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

No!

Patrick Brochu:

Listen. With myself having kids, so I have my five year olds, my wife and I were just trying to figure out because they really want to trick or treat. I mean, you know, they're five years old. They look forward to this.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I say you just lie to them and tell them Halloween's the day after, get the Halloween candy on sale, and then do like a Easter egg hunt in your backyard with the Halloween candy.

Patrick Brochu:

That might be an option. I mean, we're not going around doing the full thing this year. And that's just us. We're just trying to figure it out.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

There's a fish on the wall. I never noticed there's a fish on this wall. There's a huge marlin on the wall. Did you know that?

Patrick Brochu:

So also Staceyann is here at my office recording today's episode in a conference room that apparently she just noticed there's a massive billfish on the wall. If you could see the look on her face -- hang on I'll screenshot it right now -- but you can see the look on her face right now.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I just looked over and I was like, What is this huge thing taking over my- okay, we need to start the episode because this is some foolishness. If I keep looking at things in here, I'm gonna have things to analyze for days. So, we decided that we are going to do the episode of all the crazy things that happen at events. Horror stories if you will. You think, This could only happen to me, but we know it happens to everyone. So Patrick, would you like to start the fire and go first? Would you like me to go first so that you can ruin me as you always do whenever you let me go first or...?

Patrick Brochu:

Well I don't have any Stacey because I have flawless events.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I can't stand you.

Patrick Brochu:

I thought I was gonna get hit. I have one. Okay. My first story has to do with a load-in. So we were going to do a show in Ponte Vedra, Florida, which is Jacksonville area. Shout out to all of our listeners from MPI, North Florida. We were heading up to the sawgrass Marriott, a beautiful property, not yet a sponsor, but we were heading up to that particular property and we built out an entire custom set. We had it built in our scenic shop. We had several phone calls leading up to this with our in house contacts with different folks from the hotel, etc. In this show, we had custom risers that were being built, but we were using them in conjunction with the risers from the hotel. On this one we did not do a site visit which is rare for us but with this client. We didn't have a budget for a site visit, so the hotel tells us what is the exact heights that we can get to on the risers? They're telling us okay, 36 inches, but can we verify 36 inches? Okay, this was 36 inches. We want to have another area that's lower. Can you get to 24 inches? Yes, we can get to 24 inches. So we show up for the load in the 24 inch risers match with our 24 inch high risers. We're good to go there when we get to the 36 inch risers, Oh our risers don't get to 36 inches. What do you mean, they don't get to 36 inches? And we have built all this custom scenic staging that goes to 36 to match their 36 inch risers, the max height of their riser was 32 inches, that's four inch difference. So we had pieces that were supposed to be one smooth, consistent stage that we're supposed to connect to their exact risers, and we were four inches different. One of the great things is just being prepared for the unknowns. So we're there, freaking out, like, Hey, we have to build this set, we have to get this up. And what we ended up doing is we took our scenic elements out back, and we had made custom metal feet or legs for the bottom of our stage. So luckily, in our truck, we have a show kit that goes with us. And we had the proper saws to be able to cut the legs of all of ours to match the hotels. So we're out in the parking lot, literally cutting these things down.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

So you had to make basically a tool shop in a parking lot.

Patrick Brochu:

Exactly, you know, and we had to get permission from the hotel, because you know, we're obviously in the back of the hotel, so not in front of clients or guests. They're like, well, we don't normally let people machine fabricate in our parking lot. We were like, We were told it's 36, we built it to 36, you're at 32 this is a problem. And so we came together, we built a little area out back behind, and we put it up black drape around it so nobody could see even though it was not a client-facing area, and we literally cut these legs down.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

But all they heard was zzzzzzzzzzzzzz the whole time

Patrick Brochu:

Very loud. Very loud. But we were able to make it happen. And the show from that point on went pretty flawless. But that was one of those things. It's like the one thing that could have mitigated this whole thing would have been that site visit, right?

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Right.

Patrick Brochu:

Our in house contact, unfortunately we were trusting them to be able to go make that determining factor that didn't translate. And we were given what we were given. But...

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

You're telling that story, and it literally feels like my mouth feels like I just like the nine volt battery. Because I'm like-

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

-in my head. I'm thinking, Oh snap, like you guys had to take the time to load in to recreate the stage to get it back in time. Or the seating you know what I mean?

Patrick Brochu:

And don't get me wrong. I'm putting a positive spin on it here. But it was like a holy crap moment.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Did you poop your pants?

Patrick Brochu:

Because at the-

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

A little bit?

Patrick Brochu:

it was it was towards the beginning of the load-in that we had to have it done.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Don't ignore my question.

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah, I mean, it was a holy crap moment for sure. We were trying our best to come up with solutions. And you're in the thick of the moment, sometimes even in virtual events if something's going awry, I find myself going, Okay, well, how did we get here? And I keep on having to turn that part of my brain off.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah.

Patrick Brochu:

It doesn't matter how you got there.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

It doesn't matter.

Patrick Brochu:

It matters that you're fixing it. And then we can always do a recap or whatever to go back to that.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah, debrief.

Patrick Brochu:

There are so many planners and suppliers that, in the moment, when that's going on, that are like, Oh, well, how did we get- how do we get here?

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

It's not the time.

Patrick Brochu:

That's not the time. The time right now is just to talk about what are all the possible solutions, what's the best solution and moving towards that solution. And later, we can come back to how did we get there? That's my first one. Staging.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah, I'm definitely with you on that. Like, I can't talk about multiple things at one time. I need to stay focused on this. And we can, you know... Rocci don't bleep me out, please. We can [censored] and moan later on.

Patrick Brochu:

Rocci, this is a[censored] show.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Oh my God. Oh, my God. So my story is not that. My story is actually kind of funny. We'll call this story I Found a Home. This story takes place circa 2015? 16? It's in San Diego. I will not mention the property.

Patrick Brochu:

Mention it. Mentioned it! No I was just - you did that to me in an earlier episode.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I did it to you the other day too. I'm like Say their name. So I was at this hotel. And at the time I worked with medical simulation mannequins. So we were in one of the ballrooms, and the night before we set up all the mannequins, tested everything everything's good to go becaus you know how it is you set i up, because next day, you jus got to plug and play, right? S the next day, I have my team u there, the sales marketing everyone's up there, and they'r making sure that everything' set, tested and working. And t en, because we're doing m dical simulation mannequins, w're used to body parts flying a ound and laying around and b inking and talking to you. And n one thinks anything of it. W ll, this hand falls from u derneath the table, and we k

Patrick Brochu:

This is like a total Tales from the Crypt, nd of just look at it. And some ne goes to kick, the hand back u derneath the table, and the f ngers started moving in a way t at our mannequins do not move. S everyone starts screaming, a d a guy rolls out from u derneath the table, stands up nd stretches and he's like, Oh, t was nice to have somewhere to leep tonight. And we're like, hat? And he's like, he's like, I'm sorry if I interrupted you g ys. And he just like stretc es, literally like a cartoon ike scratches his belly, and hen just continues to walk away. Living Dead-

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

everyone was like did that mannequin just get up and walk? And I'm like, wait, like you guys, what is happening? And so we go to the hotel and the hotel is simply like, Oh, yeah, you know, we have a high homeless population. So, you know, we try to get them out the property, but they come in and they sleep wherever they want. And that was it. And that that was that was my story.

Patrick Brochu:

And you said this was San Diego, not San Francisco. Right?

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Correct.

Patrick Brochu:

Because I feel like all of my homeless stories involve San Francisco, not San Diego.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Really?

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

So part two to this story is the next day. Also, the AV company at that hotel did my meeting, because it was a really small meeting. And we had a stage and had pipe and drape. And so my president's on stage, and he's talking. I'm sitting you know, back of house, kind of making sure everything's going well. The AC kicks on, and Patrick, the entire pipe and drape, for... it wasn't a big stage it is right at 10 foot stage with a pipe and drape the entire wall. So we're talking about probably like a 20 foot wall comes falling down on my president in the middle of the presentation. So like we see it falling. I had to go catch it-

Patrick Brochu:

That happened during one of like the Republican-

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah.

Patrick Brochu:

-debates or something in 2016.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah.

Patrick Brochu:

I remember that was a big thing.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

And so that happens. And then I go to that same hotel, and they're like, Oh, well, you know, the AC came on. And when it's on high, sometimes that happens.

Patrick Brochu:

Um, I'm sorry. No. It just means that somebody forgot to do sandbags. And...

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

That's exactly what I said. I was like, are you serious right now? Are you kidding me? The entire pipe and drape just came falling down on my president's head and your thought his meh, the AC was on high?

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah, if you had proper safety, that would have never happened. You know?

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

It was a smaller meeting. Thank little baby Jesus that I had a decent leadership team that didn't try to fire me right on the spot. They knew where the blame lied. And I spent about three, four months fighting with this hotel over this. They just literally were like, Oh, this happens. I'm like so a homeless person came rolling out from under my tradeshow table, stretched and just said hope I didn't disturbed you walked away. And then the next thing that happened was pipe and drape fell on my president and you're all Yeah, yeah. AC was on high.

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah, no, that's not okay.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah, I can't.

Patrick Brochu:

That's not okay.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

What's your next story?

Patrick Brochu:

Okay. From my lifetime prior to working in the production side, I worked for a furniture rental company for a little while with few offices around the country. But based in Miami. We used to do a high, high dollar rentals. So I always called it chic and unique event rentals was what my slogan was for them. Chic and unique. But we would always end up doing like star celebrity star events. If you know Miami, the Star Island area, we were there almost every weekend doing parties. So there was a New Year's Eve event. I don't even know the year probably 2009, 2008 something like that. But we got a call three days before New Year's Eve. And this was for a high class event promo celebrity who I won't name. Something Diddy.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Name him. His whole name. Name him.

Patrick Brochu:

I don't know his whole name.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I'm gonna tell Puffy.

Patrick Brochu:

Is it R Diddy?

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Brotherly love.

Patrick Brochu:

So we're doing this event and he's renting out two mansions next to each other at Star Island. The amount of furniture that they rented was probably like a semi and a half of furniture. And so we had to go out and start doing the install a day and a half before his New Year's event. Anyway, we're out there, the client themselves showed up. And this one is all about micromanagement, which is all too often even in the corporate side. But this one's kind of crazy because he shows up maybe five, six hours before the event. Again, it is a semi load and a half of furniture. And he starts going through, Oh, I don't like this here. I wanted this moved. I don't like this here. I want this moved. We had our entire crew out there just constantly moving furniture even though we were dealing with his planner prior to that and had everything positioned according to the plan where it was supposed to be. But this person came in it was like No, no, no, the event was supposed to kick off I think at like 10pm. We stopped moving the last piece of furniture about 11:30.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Wait!

Patrick Brochu:

On New Year's Eve.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Wait!

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah. But then his event really kicked off after the clubs ended and whatever and people came over. So most of the attendees got there, probably about 1am. But anyway, so we're done with that. The next day we go to go pick up the furniture. And again, this is on Star Island. I can't tell you the amount of furniture that we found that was either in the bottom of the swimming pool like whole couches in the bottom of the swimming pool. We had people that were still asleep on furniture when we showed up the next day at like 9, 10am.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

It's like an episode of Entourage.

Patrick Brochu:

There were some, some pieces that we could see off of the dock in the water and Biscayne Bay. Some pieces that were never recovered. So their bill for damaged or lost equipment was almost as high as the original rental itself. It looked like a warzone. And speaking of micromanagement, we also did another event for a birthday party for a prominent celebrity at that same company at a golf course. And this particular celebrity owned that golf course... in Doral, Florida. He walked in prior to his event micromanaging the layout of the furniture as well. And now I was thinking to myself is-

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

NO.

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah. And all I say to myself is Don't you have bigger fish to fry? Like you're worried about the layout of furniture and this is your birthday party? At a new-

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I can't.

Patrick Brochu:

At a new property that you just purchased? And that you're renovating? And making everything all gold?

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Well, I could say that, um, from experience of dealing with said celebrities son's birthday parties, yes. Yes, that is exactly the thing that is done.

Patrick Brochu:

Oh, I think Stacey gets to that celebrity was. You guys will have to do some guesses on that one. I'm not saying it on the podcast. You can comment on our Facebook or in an email but...

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Find us at Well Seasoned! Yeah, no, that's a hot mess.

Patrick Brochu:

But we also find that in the corporate world as well, like where CEOs, some of them, end up getting into the most minute of details.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Oh, all the time.

Patrick Brochu:

And you're like, okay, don't you have like a bigger fish to fry than where maybe this... Like maybe there's like gobo that you'd want to.... Are you serious? Like-

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Oh, no, all the time.

Patrick Brochu:

You're launching like a massive product or whatever.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

And you're concerned that the pen is next to the notebook on the tables and not on top of the notebook? Yeah, no, been there, done that.

Patrick Brochu:

Ayayay.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

So talking about CEOs. It was like the top 25 companies in the Fortune 500 list. And it was just all their CEOs that came to the event. And this is during my days of the Intrepid -- the next few stories are intrepid related-- and it was just like a cocktail party. That's really it. So they're on the flight deck, and of course, the top 25, so you know they have top shelf of everything. They're drinking, and I kind of see, you know, they start getting a little tipsy. And then they get smashed. Like, whoo, they are done. And all of a sudden, I hear on a radio and frantic calls for security. And then I look out the back of the ship. And I notice there's like one or two like coast guard ships. One of the CEOs thought that he was cool, and was going to run towards the back of the ship, go over the railing because he thought he could catch himself? But then the back of the ship slopes downward so he caught himself on a railing and was just hanging on. He was absolutely fine. Nothing happened. We did however, end the event. But this is like a Fortune Top 25 group that were there. And they got so bleep faced that that happened. Shitake faced. The word I want to say is shitake faced.

Patrick Brochu:

Don't you just love it when people come up with these... ideas... at the last second? We had one for a virtual program -- and this person's probably listening (the planner, not the person that did this) -- she and I were both like what in the heck just happened? We go through all these rehearsals with people and she had two executives that were on standby ready to go. We rehearsed with them multiple multiple times. We sent them gear, camera equipment and microphones, etc. And we rehearse maybe three times. Day of the show, their segment was completely live. We go to kick to them and the director in our command center, I hear him say They're not in front of their computer. We can't see them. We're looking at a warehouse. And we're like, What do you mean, you're looking at a warehouse? They're supposed to be in their office, like we rehearsed. Time's ticking down and a person in my studio, the MC, kicks to them and says, Okay, now we're going to x, y, z, and the director's like, Screw it. Just take the image. Let's see what happens. So they just took the image that we were being fed, we're in the warehouse, and these people will come down -- which ended up being a very cool effect. They're in like cherry pickers, if you've ever been in a warehouse like a lift that goes up.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah.

Patrick Brochu:

And they just start like lowering down. So you just see, like laying down on the screen. Super cool effect but they didn't use any of the camera equipment that we sent any of the microphones, they literally had a laptop, maybe 40 feet away from them that they were just filming off of and we couldn't hear a single word that they were saying,

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

As if they couldn't figure that out on their own? In a warehouse, your laptop computer ain't gonna work the same -- I can't.

Patrick Brochu:

Exact- well, they just pulled an audible, you know, at the last moment. And again, had they spoken with the production team or conveyed that to the meeting planner...

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

It's like we could have planned appropriately for that.

Patrick Brochu:

That would have been an awesome effect. And we all would have loved it. Because in post, it looked really cool when we were doing post editing of a recap of the show, but we couldn't hear them. So then we had to have the MC bust back in on their presentation and say, Ladies, we can't hear you. And we went back to the studio and somebody else had to do their entire presentation.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Oh, my God.

Patrick Brochu:

Again, that company spent thousands of dollars sending out the proper equipment to them, making sure that they had cameras making sure that they had audio equipment, and they didn't use any of it.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Did they run over the equipment, and their cherry picker?

Patrick Brochu:

No, but then at the end, there was some fiasco and getting the equipment back from them, because it all came in one package. And then at the place, it started showing up one piece at a time. And we're like, all that you're supposed to do is put it all back in the box, and there was a shipping label, just put it back in the box, put the shipping label on it, and you're done. But that's like you're saying, sometimes the executives that we deal with, they come up with these ideas. And for whatever reason, they don't convey it. I'm always frustrated on my side, because I'm like, Oh, well, the meeting planner didn't convey it to me. But in most cases, in a lot of cases, the meeting planner doesn't even get-

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

They didn't conveyed it to us either.

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah, those are all great ideas. We can make anything happen. But we just need to know what's going on.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah, yeah. I might have a baby out there named after me.

Patrick Brochu:

Oh.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

And in a mine.

Patrick Brochu:

Oh okay.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

At one of my events I had, it was I think maybe a college group that came in. And depending on the event, or the level of talent there, I usually have security with me. And so I had someone with me, and I kind of like looked over to the side and my drapes kept moving back and forth. And I was like, uh, we have expensive pieces of equipment over there. What possibly is going on back there? I go to move the drapes, because I'm like, no one should be back there and... I interrupted a baby making process with security. All I could say was, I need you to put on your pants, and pull up YOUR pants, and just leave. And you're like -- literally, literally said -- Give us five minutes.

Patrick Brochu:

...did they comply? Or did you comply? Like...

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Security said we're not doing anything. We're not giving you five minute. Then the person turned around and was like, Oh, you're the event planner, Stacey right? And I'm like, Oh, no. I really wish you didn't know me.

Patrick Brochu:

With their pants off.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I saw way too much that day. One time we did a site visit for a very famous hockey player. I-I don't know. Can I say his name? I guess I can. Can I say his name? It's not really involving him. It's, uh, I don't know how to say his name.

Patrick Brochu:

Well then, there's the answer. Can I say his name? No.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

No-

Patrick Brochu:

Did it end in a-ski? Did it end in-

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Is it Messi-er? Messi-ay? Messier.

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah, I don't know. Hockey is not my sport.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

It's clearly not mine either. Yeah I was doing a site visit for him and I had to go to the doctor's office first, so like I had, at time, was my Blackberry on the doctors table. And he texted me to say, Hey, I'm going to be there in about 30 minutes. And so the doctor kind of like saw the phone go off. And you know, obviously you hear something you're gonna turn and look at it. So he looked and he saw that it said Mark Messier on it. And he's all Is, is Mark Messier texting you? And I was like, Oh, snap. I'm happy you said that. I was calling him Messi-er for the longest. Okay, good to know. And he's like, you got to leave. I'm like, Nah, bro. Like, I'm here at the doctor. I just paid my copay. Don't be rushing me out the office for this man. So I went to the ship because I had to do the site visit for him and walking along the ship with him. And people were like, so super excited to see him that this one man lost control of himself, couldn't breathe, hyperventilated and passed out on the ship, and cracked his head open. So we had to get EMTs on the scene because he literally gave himself a concussion passing out on the ship because he saw Mark Messier walking past him. It was bad. But yeah, those are some of our stories from our memoirs that we're gonna publish later on in our life. I guess you all got a sneak peek.

Patrick Brochu:

We want to hear some of your stories. If you have an interesting horror story or event learning story to share, please write us at wellseasonededucation@gmail.com. Send us a note in messenger on Facebook or on our Instagram page. We'd love to hear from you guys. This is your podcast too, so we want this to be as interactive for you guys as possible and here from well seasoned community out there and what you guys have to share.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

So want to give them a little paprika?

Patrick Brochu:

Yeah oh yeah, we could, we could totally do some paprika on today's episode. So, again, in keeping in tune with the spooky times of Halloween. My paprika is Dunkin Donuts, not a sponsor... yet. I'm just going to continue to say that until we end up with sponsors. Not a sponsor yet. My kids obviously love donuts. But Halloween is one of their absolute favorite times because of the Halloween-themed doughnuts. They like the spider one. It's the donut but with a doughnut hole on the top and they make the little spider web and spider legs.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah.

Patrick Brochu:

That is their absolute favorite. I don't know it just popped in my head. The Dunkin Donuts, the Halloween-themed doughnuts, I think are so cool. I want to be a doughnut decorator for Dunkin for Halloween. Like I want to come up with something.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Rocci's father used to make the best donuts in Northern California apparently. I don't know I've never tasted them but everyone who talks about him talks about these donuts.

Patrick Brochu:

I want to make a doughnut for Dunkin Donuts that's like, maybe that's the donut with the donut hole on the top and then maybe make it look like a vampire and the donut hole is kind of his nose. But then use candy corn as like the teeth coming down and some eyeballs.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

That should be your like kids Halloween project instead of carving pumpkins make donuts.

Patrick Brochu:

That's true. That's true. And then I could submit it to Dunkin Donuts and say, Hey, Dunkin, you're not a sponsor yet, but... that's my paprika.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

My favorite Halloween candy that I look forward to, my paprika, is the caramel apple pops. You know the apple flavor pops covered in caramel?

Patrick Brochu:

I don't know those.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

You don't know them?

Patrick Brochu:

No.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

I'm about to go get some. They are my favorite things. And that's what I look forward for Halloween. And my soup and wine.

Patrick Brochu:

But Carmel is not really my favorite thing. Like unless it's unless it's in like a candy bar. I'm all about it. But like Carmel on the outside like an apple or something like that's that's never been my thing.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Oh, I haven't had a caramel apple in a long time.

Patrick Brochu:

We're just like staring at each other off into the distance like, like hmmm, candy candy.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

But yeah, that's it. And also today for lunch I'm going to go to the Jamaican restaurant and have Jamaican food for lunch. And that's my paprika that makes me extremely happy.

Patrick Brochu:

Enjoy the rest of your car ride. I know many of you guys have told us that you listen on the way to work. So enjoy the rest of your peaceful car ride on the way. Hopefully there's not any traffic because of the COVIDs.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

So you'll be able to get it there as well but just want to let you know we are catering to the people. That's it. That's our episode for today.

Patrick Brochu:

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Yeah.

Patrick Brochu:

One of my favorites too. I mean we decorate most of my house is Halloween but then we have a section in the bookshelf that's all Day of the Dead skulls and stuff.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Let me tell you the Brochus don't play around when it comes to decorating. Y'all love you a good decoration whoo child.

Patrick Brochu:

No we don't, we love some decorations so. All right.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Patrick Brochu:

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Episode produced by Patrick Brochu and Staceyann Van Horne-Doria. Sound editing by Rocci Doria and song by Dr. Delight. Yeah, my Halloween tradition is to make soup and have it with Hawaiian rolls and have a good bottle of wine. And that's it.

Patrick Brochu:

Soup, Hawaiian rolls and a wine. Hm. It's a little different.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

And I stand by it too.

Patrick Brochu:

Rocci let's make sure that we're giving out candy out there this year.

Staceyann Van Horne-Doria:

Absolutely not.
