Rachel Rozen & Hiiro Prince with Nicole Marcia

In this episode with Nicole Marcia, we discuss our shared industry of Yoga from a more specific angle, trauma sensitivity. Nicole Marcia trained both of us in Trauma Sensitive Yoga foundations early on our teaching paths and Nicole is a senior Educator in Vancouver, Canada for this speciality.

Nicole was awarded a master’s degree with a specialization in Yoga Therapy from the Lesley University in Boston, MA. She has worked as a Yoga Therapist at Onsite, the treatment arm of North America’s first safe injection site in Vancouver’s downtown east side. She trains Yoga Therapists through various schools and is a member of Bridge for Health and the Breathe Network, which connects survivors of sexual violence with healing arts practitioners.

She also provides informed yoga programming to the residents at Deborah’s Gate, a national, specialized program of care serving international and domestic women who have been trafficked into situations of sexual and/or labor exploitation and Boreal Wellness in their Trauma Day Treatment Program for public safety personnel and first responders.
