The Brain BS™ Podcast
Maureen Kafkis is a Doctor of Occupational Therapy, the Brain BS™ coach, and the host of The Brain BS™ Podcast (previously The Power of Community & Collaboration Podcast). When she learned that the average human brain has over 60,000 thoughts a day and that most of them are lies (Brain BS™) that cause needless suffering, she started to learn how to separate the fact from fiction in her mind and has never looked back. Maureen truly believes that living consciously, understanding how your brains work, and learning to feel your feelings are necessary for an empowering and fulfilling life. She brings her expertise and extensive knowledge to inspire people in the SB area and beyond to learn how to live consciously, tap into their personal power and become leaders in their community.
In a world where there is so much division and way too much focus on competition, the Brain BS™ Coach is promoting a conscious community and lifestyle built on leadership energy, collaboration, and mutual support. She is doing that because the power of the collective far exceeds anything that can be done at the individual level and it’s just way more fun! If we all consciously collaborate with one another and succeed together we can have a substantial ripple effect that will extend far beyond our local community. Listen and learn how you can add value to your own community!

262) Learning About Tourette Sydrome
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode I discuss Tourette Syndrome with Jessica Sneed who is a mother and a metabolic health coach. We discuss what it's like for her to have a son with Tourettes and we discuss what it's like for me to be dealing with a flare up of it after decades of doing fairly well.
By the end of the episode you will have a better understanding of what life is like for somebody with Tourettes, and hopefully tap into compassion for the people who are challenged with it, and maybe even be inspired to stop hiding your own disability or limitation.
And it turns out the timing is perfect because it is Tourette's Awareness Month from 5/15-6/15! So listen to this episode and get yourself educated about Tourettes and then share the episode with somebody else so they can get educated too.
Here is Jessica Sneed's link if you want to reach out to her about her work or about being a parent of a child with Tourette Syndrome

We all have our own shit and what we perceive to be shortcomings in life. Every. One. Of. Us.
I'm suggesting maybe we should all stop hiding our perceived flaws and recognize that we are all way more alike than we are different. Shame can't live in the light of day and we can't get support from others if they don't know we need it.
