ETBU offensive line coach Donald Kinchen is in his third season coaching for the Tigers. He talks to ETBU+ Director of Broadcasting Jacob Bumpas about his offensive line this year.

Donald Kinchen, the offensive line coach and run game coordinator, has had the awesome opportunity to coach the same consistent group of linemen since coming here to ETBU.

Man, it's been great having the guys back on campus. We have a couple of returning guys from last year. He's a great leader in the room, Devon Jolly. And then we have Destin Smith, and we have Travis Mason coming back. These guys have been here. I've been coaching them since they've been sophomores. They kind of got here at the same time. So they'll be finishing their senior year this year, this upcoming season.

And on top of that, the incoming freshman class has showed a whole lot of potential.

And have a good group of freshmen coming in. Justin Cougar's doing good, doing great, actually. A couple of guys, uh Clayton Duxworth, he's 6'6, he's out of Red Oak. Have Trustin Mallard Foreman, he's out of Tyler, 6'5 kid, and then we have Jamarcus Dickerson. He's from Ennis, he's like 6'4, 6'5 kid. Good size on him, man. Like I said, Justin Cougar. So it's a good class, man, that is coming in.

And as you can imagine, the O-line and quarterbacks have built quite a brotherhood.

Pretty good relationship. Pretty close, man. And the guys that we have, they all been here during the spring. So they're really just building that brotherhood and bond. They go out to eat all the time. They're always joking around and playing. So that's great for the team.

Coach Kinshin was a force to be reckoned with back in his playing days.

Playing office align myself, man. I've been able to play with a great group of guys and have great offensive line coaches. It kind of just rubbed off on me, man. I played at Oak Grove High School in Mississippi. And then I played at Pearl River Community College, which is a junior college in Mississippi. I played at Mississippi College, which was Division II. And I finished up at Sagu University, which is known as Nelson. Won a bowl ring there. Broke a lot of offensive records. It was great. Funny fact, I wanted to be a Navy SEAL, but now I'm an offensive line coach. So man, I'm just grateful for the opportunity.

Man, it's just been a blessing. I'm grateful for the opportunity. I came when the previous offensive coordinator, Ryan Smith, was here. And I was coached the offensive line for him these past two years, this upcoming season. I'll be doing the same thing for Coach JF Spinney. So man, it's been great. Thankful for the opportunity. Thank Dr. Blackburn. He gave me the chance and opportunity to come be an ETBU Tiger.
