About Katie
Dr Katie Benhura is an NHS GP working in Kent, but trained in London. She is also the founder of an award-winning community group called Mum’s Pride (@mums_prideteam on Instagram). This is a platform for mothers from different backgrounds and walks in life where they can feel safe, supported and encouraged. They also organise prayer meetings to uplift each other regularly.
This group was founded four years ago after Katie graduated from medical school as she notices feeling very lonely despite good support from family and friends. This is because no one could relate to her journey as a mum.

They pride in being diverse group in terms of religion, age and type of journey. Having said that, Katie is a Christian and this is also her ministry and just her way of spreading the love of God.
The group has the privilege of having many women working in the healthcare sector, so Mum’s Pride also create a Drs group to help and correctly signpost mothers in need. Especially during this pandemic, it has been beneficial to have mothers helping to filter and explain governmental and medical guidelines.
Katie is also a motivational speaker with a passion for Women, Career Women and Mothers. She loves spreading love and hope, making people feel empowered despite their current situations.
