#154// So, Harrison Butker "went and did it" when he shared during his commencement address at Benedictine College that he suspected many women will find their greatest fulfillment in the vocations of marriage and motherhood. And the internet. Went. WILD.

Quite frankly, I find it fascinating that so many people who do not identify as staunch Catholics actually cared about his comments at all. I mean, WHY do we care? Why are we even listening to a commencement address being shared at a traditionally conservative, Catholic college if we don't go there, have kids graduating from there and/or are not Catholic? I believe it's because of the "outrage mentality" and "cancel culture" we've curated into our online platforms over the last decade, and I think this is dangerous on many levels. But primarily it's making folks forget that (a) not everything applies to us, and (b) we don't have to "weigh in" with our personal opinion on things that don't apply to us. But I digress.

On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I want to unpack this question, "Can Christian Women Be Breadwinners?". Because, in light of this "women's rights whirlwind" that got set off when folks started responding to Butker's statements, we would do well to get into the Bible and see what the Word of God has to say about a woman's role, specifically around working outside the home and bringing in an income. Is God "cool" with a woman working outside the home and "bringing home the bacon?"

Are you ready to unpack some scripture on this and get down to what the Bible has to say about our core role and responsibilities as godly women and what this means to our purpose and positioning in life? We're going there on this episode, so if you're ready to dive in . . . Grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!
