[KHADIJA MBOWE VOICEOVER] Hello and hi! This is your host Khadija Mbowe, and you’re listening to our special BONUS segment I like to call “in-depth lightning round”. It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like! Each and every one of our guests will be asked the same set questions in the hopes that they’ll reveal a bit more about what they value, and how they think. Also because, it’s just really fun. So without further ado…here’s our in-depth lightning round with Tailinh Agoyo

KHADIJA MBOWE:

So the first one, who makes you laugh?

TAILINH AGOYO:

<laugh>? My dog. My dog. Bunny <laugh>.

KHADIJA MBOWE::

I did not expect that answer. <laugh>,

TAILINH AGOYO:

Yes. He honestly, he has, he has these like eyes that bulge out. He's a Boston Terrier, Frenchie mix, so his eyes kind of go all different directions and he's hilarious. He cracks me up every day. Think, you know, he, he honestly saved my life over the past couple years. Just, you know, you know how our fur friends are.

KHADIJA MBOWE:

Next question. This is called a cataclysm sentence.I know, <laugh>, I know. If the entire human population was wiped out tomorrow because of some giant cataclysm mm-hmm. <affirmative>, what piece of advice would you want to give to the new race of humans that would inhabit the earth?

TAILINH AGOYO:

Oh my goodness.

KHADIJA MBOWE:

Easy questions, right?

TAILINH AGOYO:

Mm. I think I would say there's no rush in thinking in, in like, not like rushing, like you're running or rushing, but how our society, how, you know, we were starting off slow and then all of a sudden in the past 200 years, we've like destroyed everything, you know? And we're like in a rush like, what's the new next iPhone? What are we doing? What kind of car? Like that's, that's in that context now. I would probably write it a little bit more in depth, but something like that where it's just like, enjoy what you have. There's no rush to keep moving to the next step.

KHADIJA MBOWE::

I like that, yeah.

TAILINH AGOYO:

Take your time. This is cool. Like, if you're all new here, you probably have a lot of like, beautiful berries and like, the trees are pretty

KHADIJA MBOWE:

A lot more biodiversity, lots more fruits and veggies.

TAILINH AGOYO:

Like don't, ugh, don't, yeah, just stay there. Don't, don't do whatever this we call progress.

KHADIJA MBOWE:

What is a skill that you wish you had?

TAILINH AGOYO:

I want to sing and I can, I don't think I can sing, but I really wanna just like be on stage. Like if I could, if no one would throw things at me or whatever, like if I could be on stage and just rock out, you know, and just like be a performer, that's something that I would've loved. I would love to be a rockstar.

KHADIJA MBOWE:

Oh yeah. So speaking of rockstar then, what song do you wish you wrote?

TAILINH AGOYO:

Oh, I wish I wrote??

KHADIJA MBOWE:

It can be for monetary reasons or something.

TAILINH AGOYO:

I know. I'm like, which one? I think it's like that. Uh, I will Always Love You by Dolly Parton, anything Dolly Parton I wish I wrote.

KHADIJA MBOWE:

Yes.

TAILINH AGOYO:

Yeah, she's a money maker.

KHADIJA MBOWE :

She is. Collection of fantastic wigs as well. Amazing.

TAILINH AGOYO::

Yeah. She is.

KHADIJA MBOWE:

What is the worst advice you've ever gotten?

TAILINH AGOYO:

I think it's not a, it is not a quick, well, okay, a quick one would be like, why don't you get a job at Starbucks? <laugh>? But, but, but the real thing, the real answer is anybody, and this has happened to me a lot because I am a dreamer and I go with my gut a lot. I'm spontaneous. I know the right thing that I need to do. And anybody who has ever told me to do something safe, I just, I ignore them. I'm not staying at that job that is toxic. I am not, I'm not, I'm just not doing those things. And I think that's unfair and bad advice and people should stop doing it.

KHADIJA MBOWE:

I'm very similar.

Tailing AGOYO :

But none of this would be here, right?

KHADIJA MBOWE :

Right. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I'm like just, you might not trust it, but just let me do what I'm doing and I promise you it'll work out. Just, just right. Just let me, I, it'll, It’s not gonna look good at first. It's gonna be a bit messy. Yeah. But I'll figure it out.

TAILINH AGOYO:

Yeah. And it's hard because it's not figured out and so you don't really know yourself. Second guess yourself and then they're telling you not to do it. But I somehow always was a little bit <laugh> fearless and just went for it, which it worked out. Thank goodness. <laugh> <laugh>. I call it radical delusion. <laugh>

Tailing AGOYO :

I love it. I love that

KHADIJA MBOWE:

I'm like, listen, people are out here. You're living in other people's delusions. Just make your own <laugh>

Tailing AGOYO :

That is good. I love that.
