Okay, so this session today, we're gonna be talking about a deadline for franchising. And this is one put out for franchise certification through the SBA. Now, I'm gonna read to you a blog post that was published on Fran Data's website. Okay, so if you're if you're watching the video of this, you'll be able to. I'm gonna screen share my screen so you can see this. If you're just listening, uh, I'm just gonna read it verbatim here so that you have a sense of exactly what this is. So, all right, here we go. This is the headline in Fran, this is from FranData.com. The headline of the article says SBA extends franchise certification deadline to December 31st, 2025. I'm doing this now to put the pressure on. Uh, I've always found that uh if you give too much notice, people generally don't do it. So if you haven't done it yet, this is the last call to get this done. This was posted July 26th uh by uh Mimi Moy. And Mimi, if I said your name incorrectly, uh please forgive me there. Okay, it reads the U.S. Small Business Administration, SBA, has extended the deadline for franchise oars to submit their franchise or certification to the SBA franchise directory. This update directly affects SBA SBA loan eligibility for your franchisees and provides more time for your brand to comply. So, what is the new SBA certification deadline? As of July of 2025, the SBA has extended the deadline to December 31st, 2025 for the for any franchise brand that was listed on the SBA franchise directory as of May of 2023. This gives franchise oars additional time to complete and submit the new required certification form. So if you were previously approved, you have to go through this process. If you were approved before and in the directory before May of 2023. Okay, now back to the article. Why does the SBA franchise certification matter? Well, franchise must submit this certification form to remain on the SBA franchise directory, which is the tool lenders use to determine whether a franchise is eligible for SBA backed loans. If a franchise or does not submit the certification by December 31st, 2025, the SBA will remove the brand from the directory. Once removed, SBA lenders will no longer be able to approve loans for franchisees under that brand. So what should franchise, what should what franchisors should do next? Uh here's what this update means for you. You now have until December 31st, 2025 to complete and submit the SBA certification form. Until then, SBA lenders must continue to use the addendum listed in the directory and comply with any notes tied to your brand. Next bullet, already signed and returned the certification form sent by Fran Data, then you're all set. No further action is needed. Next bullet, haven't submitted your certification yet?
