TÉKA | Carry the Fire – How Young People's Dating Habits Have Changed

MCC.Collegium Season 7 Episode 30

Europe has faced many kinds of challenges over the decades, of which demographic change is perhaps the most important over the long-term. Neither politicians nor experts agree on whether it qualifies as a crisis, but the plummeting global birth rate is impossible to ignore. One important driver of this phenomenon is young people’s tendency to postpone family creation. In the podcast Carry the Fire – Why Do We Need Children? we look at this most urgent issue of our time, a worldwide decline in fertility, and examine the societal changes that have the greatest impact on young people's lives.

In this episode, we talk about young people’s dating habits and try to look for answers as to why it is so difficult to find love today. Audrey Unverferth, author, co-founder and former editor-in-chief of the Chicago Thinker, and Georgina Kozma, Head of Research at the Youth Research Institute, discuss these topics.
