Welcome to the Only One Might Podcast. I'm your host, Carl Gerod now. Just from that video, y'all, I gotta say security kind of slipped on that one, but Sister Omar instincts kicked in and she swung one of the problem and stood up. So that one I got to uh board on, but now we have new developments in the shocking town hall attack on Representative Ilhan Omar. So if you don't know the story, on January 27th, during a packed town hall in Minneapolis, a man rushed to podium and sprayed Representative Ilhan Omar with a liquid from a syringe while she was speaking. Security tackled him immediately and police arrested him on suspicion of third-degree assault. Authorities identified the suspect as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmirchek. Investigators say he approached Omar and sprayed a vinegar-smelling liquid before being subdued. Police are still working to determine what his motive was. Now, Casmira reportedly has a criminal history that includes a felony, auto theft, conviction, and multiple DUI arrests, along with financial troubles and online posts supportive supportive of President Trump. Some stuff they said was real racist stuff that he had posted. Witnesses say he appeared to yell, and I quote, you must resign, as he attempted to spray the liquid. Sources now say the substance was apple cider vinegar. Now, this was according to a few news sources, and the hazmat team determined it posed no chemical threat through the strong though the strong odor reportedly made at least one attendee physically sick. The FBI and the U.S. Capitol Police are now involved signaling the possibility of more serious charges as officials work to deter violence against elected leaders. Omar was shaken but not injured and continues speaking roughly 25 minutes, saying she would not be intimidated. The attack happened while Omar was criticizing immigration enforcement and calling for the resignation of Homeland Security leadership, underscoring the volatile political climate surrounding public officials. Now, I want to be blunt and just ask you, the audience, is this still just criminal behavior? You just think it's some wacky guy doing some criminal stuff, or is this domestic terrorism? Because this is what they've been throwing around, you know, especially out in Minnesota, um, for every attack and every person that has been killed as far as they're demon as domestic terrorism, the domestic terrorist. So is this an act of domestic terrorism and does political violence now threaten the safety of public officials? Also, y'all, if leaders can't face the public without fear, what does that mean for democracy itself? And let me just ask, y'all, because Trump just recently said, you know, he believed that the uh this the attack was staged. So do you side with Trump on that one and think that she might have staged this thing? You know what I mean? Just to make it look good. I want to hear your thoughts.
