The Knicks Are Champions

Why This Win Hits Deep

SPEAKER_00

Because what happens is when you watch those videos and you see people out here crying and getting emotional over this game, let me tell you something. This was 53 years in the making, y'all. 53 years. There's generations of New Yorkers who lived and died without seeing this moment, y'all. And so when you look at these people and you say, man, like they seem like you're doing too much. Think about it like this as a fan. You suffered heartbreak after heartbreak, bad season after bad season, several playoff collapses, and endless jokes from rival fans. And you still kept believing that your team could win. So this championship to a lot of people is just more than a trophy. It means something to everyone, like the person at Pac Madison Square Garden, every kid that shot hoops on the playground, families that sat down and passed this, Knicks fandom from generation to generation, and they finally got

New York Resilience And Identity

rewarded. And as a New Yorker, we're from a city that's built on resilience. And so when we get knocked down and stuff, we get back up. When we get criticized, we keep coming back. That was the story of the Knicks. The Knicks' story was pretty much our story. So from Brooklyn to the Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, Manhattan, this championship belongs to the entire city because the Knicks didn't just win a title, they gave New York its basketball crown back. So I want to hear, what do you think, guys? What how did this make you feel as a New Yorker? Especially like if like myself, I live out of state now. So it's like when I'm watching this, you know, you feel emotional because, like, again, their story was kind of like your story. You know what I mean? You kept getting knocked down, you kept getting back up, and you know, you didn't stop believing. This is 50 plus years of waiting. There was one unforgettable championship. It made me love the sport again. I don't know how you feel. Let me know in the comments. It made me love to sport again. All right, so New York, let's celebrate this one together, y'all.

Parade Plans And A Peaceful Party

SPEAKER_00

We got the uh ticker tape parade. I believe that's going to be on Thursday. They got it marked as um starting around 10 o'clock in the morning. So let's be there, let's be there peacefully. You know, the one thing that this championship run showed us in the United the people, and you know, everybody was was cool with each other, everybody, you know, walked around with love, man. People were high-fiving each other, they didn't know each other. You know, crime went down, all the accelerism. Of course, you're gonna have issues as you always do. But if you're coming, y'all, please come in peace. I hope to see you all out there, y'all. And let me know in the comments what does this championship mean for you as a New Yorker? If you're not from New York, then I can understand you don't got no dog in this fight. If you're not a Knicks fan, you don't have a dog in this fight. But the ones that do, let me know in the comments what you think about this championship when the city that never sleeps, we can finally rest on
