The Big Kahunas Football Podcast
Episode 111: Ain't That A Kick In The Pants
Record-breaking defensive plays, shocking team collapses, and unexpected contenders emerged during an absolutely chaotic Week 3 of NFL action. The football world witnessed a staggering nine defensive and special teams touchdowns – tying an all-time NFL record – completely reshaping games and leaving fantasy owners either jubilant or devastated.
The Tennessee Titans situation raises serious concerns after their embarrassing loss to Indianapolis. "That team quit," explains co-host Floyd, detailing how he's never seen a Titans squad so disinterested in playing football. Brian Callahan's coaching has come under intense scrutiny, with speculation he might be the first head coach fired this season. The offensive line struggles, defensive indifference, and a rookie quarterback trying to find his footing have created a perfect storm in Tennessee. Could Mike Tomlin be the answer if he becomes available?
Special teams magic defined the weekend. The most memorable moment came when 338-pound Jordan Davis rumbled 70 yards at 18 MPH on a blocked field goal return to seal Philadelphia's comeback against the Rams. This play not only secured victory but crushed bettors who had the Rams plus 3.5 points – just one of many "bad beats" that had gamblers pulling their hair out.
The quarterback landscape is shifting dramatically three weeks in. Baker Mayfield quietly builds an MVP case with three straight comeback victories, while established stars like Kirk Cousins (benched in Atlanta) struggle. Rookie Caleb Williams showed flashes of brilliance in Chicago's dominant win over Dallas, looking "like Joe Montana" according to the hosts.
Perhaps most surprisingly, we identify the Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts as potentially the two best teams in the AFC right now. Under Jim Harbaugh's leadership, the Chargers have transformed their late-game execution – historically their Achilles' heel – while the Colts show remarkable balance with Anthony Richardson and Jonathan Taylor finding their rhythm.

Speaker 1:Yeah, you already know, man. You already know, man, I'm excited, I'm very excited about this trip, man. I get to do something I've always Wanted to do, basically not even backpack. I'm staying in nice spots all throughout Europe. But what's even more exciting is this weekend Fucking football man. Did you know there was a record tying, I want to say Nine defensive and special teams touchdowns this weekend? Nine, no, I didn't know it was that much.
Speaker 1:And if you multiply, if you add on Nine defensive and special teams touchdowns this weekend Nine no, I didn't know it was that much and if you multiply, if you add on the special plays like blocks and stuff, dude, it was an insane amount of football. I had so much to do and I could not get any of it done because I was sitting here and I used to get mad. So I have the ticket right on YouTube TV and I had windows. Uh, I used to get mad because you couldn't do the four box right like on tv. You got the four, four games at once. I got mad because you couldn't do the four box here. So I was like man, it's on the on the pc. Uh, cerebro. So I like man, this kind of sucks, whatever. Then I was like, wait a minute, let me try something, brian. I had seven, five, five or six games up all in different windows, one by one Wow.
Speaker 1:Bro on Cerebro. Bro, I was like this yeah, I couldn't. I literally could not take my eyes off of it, man. It was truly, truly amazing. Man, it was such a good time. Yeah, it was wow, it was awesome. But yeah, let's get right into it, let's go. Oh, actually, I'll let you go on and do the intro to the sponsors and stuff. Go ahead, yeah, man.
Speaker 2:Just a quick shout out Keller's Detroit. What is up here? Keller's Detroit. What is up here? Kellis Detroit, jake Dolan's Irish Pub, all that good stuff and, of course, all of our international fans. What is up? We have one Canadian fan, brazil. Where are you? Brazil, please come back.
Speaker 1:You know I was out there, I was trying to get some man, you know, while I was over in Montreal a week ago. So I was trying to get some more. I was hitting the ground, man Hitting the ground, trying to get a hold of it. I'm trying to change my privacy thing on here so people can. Is it on here? Oh, my goodness, we've got to still work out the kinks. Man, I'm still trying to work out the kinks. Edit post.
Speaker 1:There we go Nope, nope, oh yeah, wait a minute Looks like. No, I can't edit. I can't edit anything. I don't know how to do it, but anyway, screw it. We won't have any comments from there, so that's fine. But anyway, man, what an exciting fucking week of football.
Speaker 1:Let's get right into it, uh, with the thursday night game, oh my gosh. So I will prelude this and we're gonna do this rapid fire, right, because the second time and everything. But I will prelude this. It was an amazing day in fantasy football for defenses. I said and stat boy will have to like, take a look at this and let me know that this has to be cumulative the most points scored by defenses ever in fantasy football. It was insane. Every defense seemed like it put up over 10 points, except one.
Speaker 1:Buffalo fucking Bills, the defense I started gets four fucking points except one. Buffalo fucking Bills, the defense I started gets four fucking points. Bro, four points against the Miami Dolphins at home on a Thursday night. Oh my goodness, they couldn't stop anything, dude, it was so terrible, I was so bad and I actually at that point, when it gets like that, I just start rooting for the other team. So I was rooting for the Dolphins to come back and win, which they almost did. Two or three would pick six, but all in all, I would say two or three had a good game and they hung with them. They definitely hung with them. It was a lot more surprising than I thought, let's say.
Speaker 2:Yeah, 100%. I was surprised that Miami could run the ball against Buffalo. I don't know about the Thursday night games, floyd, whether how much stock I should take into evaluating a team on a short week, but it looked like Miami really answered the bell, especially considering what we talked about last week. Right, long story short, miami wouldn't buffle. Usually it's not good news for Miami, but that spread was scary. Right, the double-digit spread was scary, and I think you said Miami right, yeah.
Speaker 1:I think so. I'm pulling it up to verify. But keep going, yeah, go for it, right? Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 2:I'm pulling it up to verify yeah, go for it. But yeah, give credit to Miami doing their thing. And in a weird way, floyd, in a weird way, I think Coach McDaniel kind of like saved his hide in this one and it's more of Tua on the hot seat. Do you agree or not?
Speaker 1:No, I don't agree. I still think that it is a. I still think Mike McDaniel's on the hot seat. However, comma, I don't think he's going to be. I think he has a challenger for being the first coach fired in midseason.
Speaker 2:Oh, yes, I think I know. I know which one.
Speaker 1:I think I know exactly. I think you know too.
Speaker 2:Is it an NFC South one?
Speaker 1:Absolutely not, but let's keep going, we'll get to it Speaking of the NFC, not the South. Tell me about Washington. Do your quick fire on this one Boy, that McCormick. What's his last name? Kresge Merritt. Kresge Merritt, that run, wow, shades of Beast Quake.
Speaker 2:Oh man, kraski Merritt did really well. I think anyone that a commander that could run the ball against Vegas defense that was actually top five run defense coming into this game. Again, no, jaden Daniels, marcus Mariota took the reins and I think you mentioned about special teams. I think Washington really did their thing in special teams. Jalen Lane, 90-yard punt return, sat on my bench, by the way. He took house against a Raider team that I don't know if they were all in this one. They totally looked different from the Raiders that barely lost to the Chargers on Monday night, but it was a long story short. Again, washington, they needed this victory really badly and they had to do it against a Raider team that was on a short week and had to fly out east in an early game. So everything was made for Washington and they took care of business.
Speaker 1:That's going to be the theme of today. Special teams was incredible this weekend, especially so many punt returns and kickoff returns and blocked field goals. Oh my gosh, the blocked field goals. Oh my gosh, the blocked field goals Unreal.
Speaker 2:Unreal We'll get to that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, carolina blanks, atlanta, phoenix benched. Yep, who's the backup? I don't even know who came in. Kirk Cousins buddy. Kirk Cousins came in.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:Oh, man, and they still didn't put up a point. Nope, carolina covers FYI, I had an oh, and also the theme of this is special teams, defenses and bad beats. I had Buffalo Ten and a half. Oh no, the half bro. Oh no, the half bro. Oh no, ten and a half. And didn't they miss an extra point? I think they missed a couple of them. I want to say they missed extra. There was a lot of missed extra points this weekend. There was yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm pretty sure our missed field goals. I'm pretty sure that I should not have lost that one. I'm pretty sure I should not have lost that one. I'm pretty sure I should not have lost that. I can't remember, if I remember it, but I'm pretty sure they lost.
Speaker 4:They did some kicks, but yeah, so next one we got yeah, is this the one you're talking about?
Speaker 1:The NFC South coach. Yeah, raheem Morris, you think he's gone.
Speaker 2:I don't think he's gone. It's definitely a very warm seat, I bet Come on.
Speaker 1:I don't think it's warm. I don't think it's warm. I don't think it's warm. I think it's too new. You got a brand new quarterback. I just I don't think that it's too, not yet, anyway Not as hot as the other one I'm about to mention. Besides, Mike McDaniel Roger, I don't think so, Because Atlanta don't really care Like their fans shout out their fans and everything for the Braves and all that, but when it comes to Atlanta football, they don't really care about Atlanta football. So there's not a lot of like media, press and everything that comes with that. So that's interesting. We'll have to see. We'll have to see. I don't think it's as hot as the top two.
Speaker 2:It's a bad loss.
Speaker 1:It's a very bad loss, man. That was a very bad loss, did I take them? I did take Carolina, absolutely yeah. I don't think I did good at all. Actually, I only got five points this week.
Speaker 2:You know what was real odd when we did those pick-ups. I think if we did the pick-ups on a Thursday or Friday, I think we could have made ourselves a couple 3-14 parlays money line and we could have won.
Speaker 1:I believe so too. I also want to let you know I scored the least amount of points this week out of everybody in the pool.
Speaker 2:Oh, I think I got one more over you. God didn't do well either, dude.
Speaker 1:No, you got two. I did five, you got seven.
Speaker 3:Oh God.
Speaker 1:A lot of sevens. Dwight nailed it with 10.
Speaker 2:Wow On one, dwight On one. We're tied for 10. Still we are tied, oh boy, well, I still owe shots anyway from last year, you do owe shots.
Speaker 1:We'll figure that out later.
Speaker 2:We'll have to, yeah, handle that later, but, yeah, bad loss. Bad loss, I mean the Michael Penick sidearm. It picks Hicks. It's like, oh gosh, come on, come on.
Speaker 1:Mike yeah, dude Bad beats, dude Bad beats, all right, so the next one we got Cleveland scores 13 unanswered to upset the Packers. Here's my quick reaction on that.
Speaker 1:Yes, go ahead. The Packers dominated that defense. Definitely, offense was kind of eh, but we saw the offensive Baltimore struggle against Cleveland also. So people need to realize Cleveland has a good defense. I think they held Derrick Henry to under 20 yards or something like that. He didn't have anything. I want to say last time yeah, so they have a good defense. However, the Packers owned that entire game, had them shut out the entire game for the last five minutes of the game and then fucking fireworks went off. Yes, I'm trying to remember how it happened. So Green Bay went down? Oh no, so they scored. Right, I think it was a turnover. They scored. Cleveland Browns scored. Tied the game. Packers got the ball with like no time left, but barely any time left. Very little time left. Drive down the field getting ready to kick a game-winning field goal or a field goal that would have had a couple 20 seconds, 27 seconds left or something like that. Right Gets it blocked.
Speaker 3:Wait a minute. Wasn't it two blocks in that game? I think that game had two blocks.
Speaker 1:I want to say that game had two blocks. One game had two blocks. I can't remember it was so many of them. I can't remember. That was the Eagles game, right, okay, okay. So blocks the field goal. Blocko gets the ball back with 27 seconds left, drives pretty much about 20 yards. That's all they needed about 20, 25 yards and they kick a field goal to win. Let me rephrase To steal the game from the Packers.
Speaker 2:That's a good way of putting it.
Speaker 1:That was theft like I've never seen before. That was straight theft. I was like how did Packers lose this game? But again, do not sleep on Cleveland's defense Offense. Yes, we had some shining points with Quinshawn Jenkins 18 for 94. But Josh Jacobs 16 carries, 30 yards, and I believe that was what they held derrick henry to last week too. They have a very, very good defense. I'm trying to see what happened. I was trying to remember. I don't remember, uh, how much time. Oh, oh, excuse me, they scored all 13 of their points in the final three minutes and 38 seconds of the game.
Speaker 2:That's right, the grand open pick right.
Speaker 1:Yes. It was the pick. That's what it was. It wasn't a block, it was a pick. Yeah, and that was the first takeaway of the season. God, three minutes and 38 seconds, you're dominating the entire game. Three minutes and 38 seconds, and they put up 13 points to beat you.
Speaker 2:Wow, insane Green Bay was eight and a half faves on the road against Cleveland. But I do give you credit for it because I do distinctly remember about the run.
Speaker 1:You took Cleveland, you believed in that defense Because it was nine and a half. I was like, no, you had nine and a half on yours. I mean we did it together, okay, I probably took the spreads from Fandu.
Speaker 2:That's why briar so oh okay, yeah okay, no biggie, no biggie, all right aaron leads fourth quarter drive to beat the pats in a tug-of-war battle.
Speaker 1:Okay, I think this is the one. There were so many blocks, so many turnovers in this game, like switching back, yeah, back and forth. It was like does nobody want it? But there were points scored. It was 21 14. Pittsburgh wins, pittsburgh covers. Did I take that one? I did take pittsburgh by two, I did pick that one. Okay, we're right, I'll see you gonna figure out what the rest of them are, because I said I only got five.
Speaker 2:I know You're doing really well for yourself right now. What happened in this?
Speaker 1:The craziness, it was absolutely the craziness that happened and oh my God, how many turnovers. It was just unreal, the amount of turnovers in this game. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2:He said fumbles too right. Yeah, I bet the Patriots two crucial fumbles. Ramondre Stevenson I bet chances of him being RB1, very slim, unless Trayvon Henderson really shits the bag, because I bet this is something with Stevenson he can't handle the rock.
Speaker 1:Everybody though. Stevenson two fumbles, antonio Gibson a fumble, drake May a fumble, johnny Smith a fumble.
Speaker 3:Aaron.
Speaker 1:Rodgers, a bad interception by Aaron Rodgers, another bad interception by Drake May. But all of these turnovers happened like, like in the span in a span. It was ridiculous. It was just back and forth. I was just like man. I don't know what's going on in this game. It was very ugly. However, pittsburgh did pull out the win, but I do want to say that I did see a lot of movement from well. I mean, if they didn't have the turnovers, I think Patriots would win this game Easy. I think they easily win this game. I think they dominated yeah, they dominated 369 yards to 200. They held Pittsburgh to 200 yards of total offense. They had almost 400 yards of offense. But it was all those damn turnovers. Man Doubled them in every category, in passing and rushing. It was insane. It was insane. But let's keep going. I believe there was probably even a pick six in this one. Who knows, there was a bunch of pick sixes. Eagles score complete three-score second half comeback against the Rams.
Speaker 2:Oh, that was just a rough one. That was a very rough one.
Speaker 1:I really needed this game to hit the 100, because Slade has every single Ram on his team. Oh, that's right. Every single Ram on his team scored a touchdown.
Speaker 2:I'm like come on, Devontae, Devontae. Yeah, Nice push Devontae, but hey, they didn't call it.
Speaker 1:They did not call it man and I took the Rams. I actually took the Rams. And I was good Until.
Speaker 2:This was the most bad beat of all the bad games. This is the bad beat I was talking about.
Speaker 1:I was good, it was over. I had them at three and a half plus three and a half. I was like cool, they kicked this field goal. They didn't even need the field goal.
Speaker 2:They were all already good.
Speaker 1:That's right. It was three and a half, I was already good, but obviously in real life they want to win. So they kicked the field goal and it gets blocked. Not only does it get blocked. Six foot four, 33 it gets blocked. Not only does it get blocked. 6'4", 338 pound Jordan Davis hits 18 miles an hour as he runs back for a touchdown and blasts my 3.5.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 2:To end the game To end the game.
Speaker 1:You know Scott Van Pelt is talking about it right now. Shout out Scott Van Pelt, that's right. You know he's not like you. That is the bad beats of all bad. A blocked putt by a deep tackle returns 70 yards for a touchdown.
Speaker 2:That's right, and they were just talking to Moff about how he lost weight in the offseason and was committed to being more in shape. Yeah, and dude runs 18 miles per hour. I think 338 is what he weighed after he crossed the end zone. I think he started at 345 and thenF 348 by the time he hit Bay Bird. Absolutely man.
Speaker 1:That was unreal. I was just as he's rumbling, bumbling and stumbling. I'm like I just lost this pick. I just lost this pick. And then, not only that, not only that, I benched AJ Brown for the first time and they decided to finally fucking throw it to him.
Speaker 2:I bet that pick. I bet your choice of benching him looked good for at least a half, but I bet Jalen Hurts Floyd. I want you to keep going for the next 30 seconds. My food has arrived. I'll be right back, no worries man, yeah, unbelievable.
Speaker 1:I benched AJ Brown for the next 30 seconds. My food has arrived, I'll be right back, no worries. Man, yeah, unbelievable, I benched AJ Brown for the first time and he decides to go off, for I don't even know what he had. I stopped watching it In the end. It was a difference of like nine points, because I started Jalen Warren instead because he gets yardage and I was hoping he could fall into the end zone against New England. But that game went completely, just like all of them. We'll jump to the next one. Oh, what do you know? Of course he said the next one. Indianapolis sets AFC South marker against the Titans. Indy beat us 41-20. They definitely covered.
Speaker 1:Listen, let me put it to you like this alright, because I'm not going to sit here and rant and get all upset about the Titans or anything like that. I'm not going to do any of that. Here's what I'm going to say. We looked, we have looked bad before, we've had bad teams. We've been bad right. We've had number one picks, number two picks and all that. And I've been there for all of them Watching that game, because I watched the entire thing.
Speaker 1:The first pass play of Cam Ward was a pick six, like he dropped back, looked left nothing was there went to his check down and just threw it and did not see the defender right there and he just picked it off to start the game. Not only that, the announcer had just finished saying normally you defer the kick or the kickoff, but I guess they were like you don't ever see anybody take the ball. They always defer when they win the coin toss. And so we actually took it. He said, yeah, maybe he's trying to get a spark or something. And literally the next play he throws a pick six. That set the tone for how the rest of the game was going.
Speaker 1:You wanted to know who that other coach was. It's going to be Brian Callahan. I don't think Brian Callahan makes it to the end of the season. Not only that and here's the reason why I say this that team quit, the Titans quit. We don't have that type of team. They came out there looking like and Michael Pittman said it himself they looked like they did not want to play football on Sunday. I have never seen that before from a Titans team. Every side of the ball, every person on that team looked bad. And now you compound that with a rookie quarterback who's trying to figure out the game and do his stuff and he's making rookie mistakes and stuff, but you add that now and you know that's going to be risked when you have a rookie quarterback, right.
Speaker 1:But now you take that and compound that with a rookie quarterback, it just makes it so much worse. The defense didn't even want to tackle. The offensive line is hands down. The worst offensive line in the NFL Hands down. I have no fucking idea why the fuck we gave Dan Moore all that money. I am so confused About all that Like that was the dumbest hire I have ever seen in my life.
Speaker 1:Tony Pollard has been able to, even with his bad line, at least bust like 90 yards. You know he can get like 90 or whatever yards rushing and stuff. He had 16 carries like 90 yards. You know you can get like 90 or whatever yards rushing and stuff. He had 16 carries for 45 yards. It was terrible. No one can catch the ball. What is up with all these drops this year? It is so sickening to me watching these receivers drop the ball like this, like Marvin Harrison another one, just blatant drops, man. I don't know what these guys are doing in the offseason, but I can tell you what they're not doing. They're definitely not in front of a jug machine catching passes, strengthening their hands. None of them is doing that. There's no way you can convince this to me. I mean, you have superstars dropping balls like it's nothing, I don't understand, and with the Titans, you add all of that. So not only is the line absolutely terrible, defensive line, which at least our defense used to always play well, our defense doesn't look like it wants to be out there. The defense looks like they're tired of being out there 80% of the game. They look like they don't want to be out there. They're just like screw it, let them score. We can at least get some rest now.
Speaker 1:It is atrocious. I think we lead the league in penalties. There's no discipline. And then not only that, the play calling is ridiculous. The coaching is stupid. Stupid play call Like. You're like why would you do this? Don't make this decision. I'll just put it more broad. Right, don't make this decision because if it fails, you're putting your team, making your team, vulnerable to a score. And that's exactly what happened.
Speaker 1:I forgot to set a series of plays, but at halftime that's exactly what happened. I forgot the set of series of plays, but at halftime that's exactly what happened. And they got another quick score on it, another score on us, three points out of it, or something, and I'm like they weren't even supposed to have the ball and they ended up getting three more points out of it and then getting the ball back at halftime and then Jonathan Taylor went nuts on it. We didn't even try to tackle Jonathan Taylor, it was. It was that team. I just want to say it is.
Speaker 1:It is a very sad day for Titans fans. We were talking about Atlanta and stuff and I was like their fans don't really care and that might sound a little strong, but I hope you understand what I'm saying when I say that they don't care as much as like Steelers fans or New York Giants media and I'm rather than Giants, the New York media, stuff like that Texas and everything but Tennessee, them Titan fans. We don't like that shit. We have been through so much shit. It's been so bipolar with us right. It's like the stock market. It's so volatile.
Speaker 1:You don't know at the start of the season whether the Titans are going to have the number one pick or be the fucking number one seed in the NFL. You know what I mean. Like it's nuts. Over the last 10 years we've done both Twice. You know what I mean. Like it's unreal. It's unreal. You just don't know, and I feel bad right now for Cam Ward because he's out there, he's trying, and for someone who has such a pedigree as Bill Callahan with quarterbacks and stuff, this is terrible. He's not the guy he's not the guy.
Speaker 2:He's not a CEO, he's not a head coach type. He's one of those offensive coordinators that you know can do a good thing on the extra sketch but can't lead. No, is that what I'm getting here?
Speaker 1:Absolutely no, just, it's just, it is so sad, it's so sad. I'm actually, I was mad. I was not mad, but I felt something. I was like, oh, dang it, I was going to go to three games Houston, the one in Houston, I always go to the one in Arizona because they play them the following week. And then, the third week in a row, they came here and I'm actually I feel better now that I'm going to miss those games. Wow, yeah, wow, because it is very bad football being played in Tennessee and we will have the number one pick again this year. I don't think there's a worse team in football.
Speaker 2:Let me ask this, floyd. At first I was kind of thinking about why you were saying what you're saying right now. The Titans are in a position. They got a new GM, right? You mentioned this earlier. Right, you got a new GM right, you mentioned this earlier. Right, you got a new GM. The head coach, not so good. Cam Ward is in his rookie year. But I think now I kind of think about it. I kind of like that. Take Floyd, you know why? Because I feel from my own experience of being a Commander fan of how important it is to have this momentum.
Speaker 2:You guys have a stadium coming up in two seasons from now.
Speaker 1:I think it's next year.
Speaker 2:I think it's next year. Oh, next year already.
Speaker 1:I think it'll be next year. Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure it's next year.
Speaker 2:Next year, all right. Well, let's say, if it's next year, I would find more credence into ushering this new era of tight end football. And Callahan can't be that guy. I totally see it. Now I'll pose this question, floyd, of course you don't know who the candidates are we're only in September. But name me a coach, or name me someone that's, you know, in comparison, a type of coach that you would want, knowing that you have cat ward, knowing that you have some pieces, you guys have a stadium opening coming up and you want to hit this new era of tight end football up and running. Who is that head man? Mike Tomlin.
Speaker 1:Ooh okay, mike Tomlin, Mike Tomlin, we need some discipline, man. We need some discipline. We need that old school. We need a head coach, not a cute coordinator who's never coached a day in his life. We need a coach. We need a football coach.
Speaker 2:We need to get back to what we do. Let's put a pin on that folks, and I just wanted to say also for the people listening, you're not saying that it's Mike Tomlin himself, but someone that is like Mike Tomlin. If not Mike Tomlin himself, right? Someone that kind of is like himlin. If not Mike Tomlin himself, right? Someone that kind of is like him.
Speaker 1:I'm saying Mike fucking Tomlin, mike Tomlin. That's what I'm saying Mike Tomlin has another year, mediocre year or worse. I think Mike Tomlin's gone. I'm on Brian, our beat reporter for the Steelers. He said he's gone, dude, they're tired of it. So bring him here, We'll take him. Brian, our beat reporter for the Steelers, said he's gone, dude, wow, they're tired of it. So bring him here, we'll take him.
Speaker 2:I love that fit. I'm not going to lie.
Speaker 1:I do too.
Speaker 2:I love that fit.
Speaker 1:I think, him with Cam would be beautiful.
Speaker 2:Oh man, let's do it. We can put some of that defensive prowess over to the Titans and make them what they used to be.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:All right, let's keep pushing, there's my Titans spiel, I said I'm not going to talk about it. Bucks blew big lead but walks off winless Jets. What another game. Another block. Yes, another block. The Jets kick a field goal, think they got it, leave too much lead, too much time on the clock. Yes, another block. The Jets kick a field goal, think they got it, leave too much time on the clock. And Baker shaking Baker drives them right down the field with the rookie of the year I've already called it Ibuka, ibuka, yes.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and kicks a field goal to win the game Unbelievable, unbelievable, unbelievable. And Glenn was so happy. Win the game Unbelievable, unbelievable, unbelievable. Aaron Glenn was so happy. You saw his little dance.
Speaker 2:Yes, that was my highlight of week three was Aaron Glenn running the 4-3-40, chasing down McDonald going into the end zone after the block kick and recovery and his dance moves afterwards I'm like, wow, that is awesome.
Speaker 1:That made my week Baker early season MVP Three straight wins like this Yep Two minute variety yes. Yep three straight dude Bengals extinct after historic Raiders raid on D. Is this one of the ones I got right? I think I got this one right.
Speaker 2:Historic Vikings raid yeah.
Speaker 5:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:No, I did not. I don't see a green, I only see a couple of greens. I did not get it right. Where is it? Oh, I said Cincinnati. I thought it was going to be close within four, and boy was I wrong. Jake. Browning wow, Bengals are bungles. They are back. Dude 48-10. It was ugly Carson, Wentz.
Speaker 2:Carson motherfucking Wentz yes backup quarterbacks doing their thing and oh my god, yeah, it's a wild week again. Talking about defense, let's see Rashad had Minnesota defense 30 plus.
Speaker 1:He sure sure did 33 points. 33 points, my God, four fumble recoveries, four sacks. They had two picks. They had, I think, pick sixes too. I think they were yeah, one pick, six, isaiah Rogers.
Speaker 2:Unreal, and they also had a fumble recovery for six too.
Speaker 1:Isaiah Rogers. He's the first one to do it.
Speaker 2:He set a record yeah. Wow, my goodness, wow, unbelievable. Did not expect that. Jake Browning the owner's five interceptions last two games, buyer beware Unbelievable. Did not expect that. Jake Browning, the owner's five interceptions last two games, buyer beware yes.
Speaker 1:If you own him, you're already in trouble. Yep Stroud stuck in neutral against Jags, Still winless in 25. Again, the worst teams in the AFC South is the Titans and the Texans.
Speaker 2:Man. Texas had this one too, but I don't know. I mean we talked about how we weren't impressed by the Jaguars. I mean this was a rock fight, floyd.
Speaker 1:Absolute rock fight. You know how all their games have been like this with the Texans. They look really bad, like, really bad.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and that touchdown Stroud to Nico, that was a blown coverage. I mean, just imagine if Jacksonville tightened up on that one. I don't know if Stroud gets a touchdown in this game. To be honest.
Speaker 1:Terrible Saints sleeping in Seattle as Hawks dominate from start. Oh yeah, slade had the Seahawks defense Kickoff return for a touchdown. I think they had another pick six or something a return for a touchdown, block field goal. It was so sad 44-13. Don't really need to talk about that. Seahawks cover minus seven Chargers walk off Broncos at 10-point fourth quarter comeback. I think it's time to say in our way too early analysis, we're going to save it for the first four games of the season and then we'll get into it. The two best teams in the AFC the Chargers and the Colts.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah. I can't argue against that. I can't argue. You know what's good about.
Speaker 1:Carball has those guys believing. Not only that, the Chargers, what they always mess up, their staple point is end of game. That's right, that's not happening anymore. Yep, they're believing, and condolences to Najee popped his Achilles.
Speaker 2:Oh man, I thought they were seeing for it.
Speaker 1:I thought it was Hampton at first. I couldn't really tell Amari on Hampton, but it was Najee Harris. I was like, oh man, that still sucks. Man, yeah, still sucks. But the Harbaugh's got them boys believing. But the Chargers, wow. And they're not only doing that, they're beating good teams. They're not like, they just are alleged good teams. I'll say Right Besides the Raiders. These are alleged good teams, I'll say right Besides the Raiders. But in the opener they beat Kansas City.
Speaker 1:And then they beat Denver 3-0 against the division, 3-0 against the division to start off their next couple of games. Check this out Giants Washington, miami Giants. Washington, Miami. Two out of three victory cities Before they play. A preview of the AFC Championship game against the Colts on October 19th.
Speaker 2:Oh, my goodness, the two early projections. I love it, I love it. We definitely got to do contenders versus contenders Next week.
Speaker 1:Next week? Is that next week? That's the quarterback right.
Speaker 2:Yep, week four. That's where we always do it. Oh yeah, now, before we move on to the next matchup, floyd Denver. Alarm bells for Denver right now, or too early.
Speaker 1:Too early. One and two, they're fine. Everybody in that division is 1-2, except for the Chargers. They just got to get something. You know Peyton's going to get his guys together. That was a tough loss. That was a tough loss. They had that game. Shout out my boy, courtland Sutton, still putting up touchdowns.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:That was a nice fake there. Their only win came against the Titans and they actually should have lost that one. The Titans gave them that one. But they lost a close one, 29-28 against them. They just played the two best teams in the AFC back-to-back Indianapolis and the Chargers and they lost by a total of four points. I think it's way too early, yep.
Speaker 2:Way too early, yep, way too early.
Speaker 1:Oh Bizarro World here in week three. I love it. This is yeah. Week three is weird, Really weird. Let's keep going. We're almost done. We got Niners. Lose Bosa Gave up, lead by safety, but walk off the cards. I did not see this at all. You know anything about this one. Yeah, I walk off the cards. I did not see this at all. Do you know anything about this one?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I watched the fourth quarter. That was a wild fourth quarter there as far as how the Niners lost that lead. So it was a holding penalty in the end zone that gave up the two points. Cards couldn't close the deal. As you mentioned, the headline, Nick Bosa out for the year. I believe that's an ACL injury. He's gone, and James Conner also.
Speaker 1:He's gone for the year.
Speaker 2:There's ACL too. Right ACL. Yes, hunger Games doing its thing Key off that sound clip.
Speaker 1:Speaking of Hunger Games, bears are awfully hungry. Bang, bang, bang bang.
Speaker 3:Good, nice, nice, don DeMocco Caleb wins duel over Dax Bears.
Speaker 1:Dominate boys. I love these headlines. You got man. Chicago Bears put up 31 points, 31 to 14. And let me tell you the game wasn't even that close.
Speaker 2:I agree, it wasn't close at all it wasn't even that close man.
Speaker 1:Listen, caleb was out there looking like Joe Montagna.
Speaker 3:Best tackler I've seen since Joe Montana.
Speaker 1:Joe Montana was a quarterback, you idiot.
Speaker 3:I said Joe Montana, no-transcript.
Speaker 1:He was throwing balls. He was throwing balls Bears.
Speaker 2:The Bears, the Bears, yeah, but again against the boys.
Speaker 3:Do you understand now why?
Speaker 2:I only I'm lucky to get five right. It was a weird week. I mean we can't punish ourselves for low scores. I mean, yeah, it was weird.
Speaker 1:If I would have took the underdog, I would have nailed. I would have nailed this week yeah, yeah, true unrealness, unrealness.
Speaker 1:The cowboys, man bells are going off. Cd Lambs out possible IR Pickens over there pissed at the world. We knew that was going to happen. It was just a matter of time. I said week four, we're one week away and it's about to happen. I don't know what was going on With the. All I know is Ferguson caught at one point 13 balls for 86 yards. Who also slayed, started against me. I was so pissed. Oh man, who the fuck? Dude? I scored over 130 points and lost he put up 158.
Speaker 1:Or 148 or something like that.
Speaker 2:I was like you've got to be kidding me. Typical Rise of the Titans loss man Scored 130 and still take the L.
Speaker 1:Still lose, man Still lose. It was unreal. Titans loss, man Score 130 and still take the L. Man Still lose, man Still lose. It was unreal. Unreal man, unreal game. But yeah, shout out to Ben Johnson his first win as a Bears head coach. Not only that, his first win at home. So that was pretty cool. Yes, what they did for him, how they celebrated him in the locker room afterwards, that was good to watch. Aaron Glenn, I almost thought he had one. Yeah, gotta be quicker than that. Buddy. Chiefs pull away. I did not watch any of this game and then when I turned on my sleeper to see what neighbors did, I was absolutely pissed. Chiefs pull away in the second half against the winless Giants how, alright, listen, russell Wilson needs not to be a quarterback anymore.
Speaker 3:He should be locked in a small closet where there are no basketballs or round objects of any kind.
Speaker 1:They had a chance on the comeback. They were into it. It was like first and goal. You're down 22-9. You can get in here and get the ball back. It was enough time to score and get the ball back right.
Speaker 1:Sure yeah, First and goal, Okay. So obviously four down territory. Sure, yeah, First and goal, Okay. So obviously four down territory. One of the pass You're going to at least pass it to a receiver or running back or tight end once, right, Right, First down, Throws it into the stands Okay. Second down, we got this. They get pushed back, so I guess it's a stands. Okay. Second down we got this, they get pushed back, so I guess it's a penalty or something. They're now on like the 20-yard line or 15-yard line. They got a pass right to at least a receiver, a running back or a tight end, right.
Speaker 1:Second down Draw Quarterbacks run up the middle. It wasn't even a draw, he just hiked it and ran up the middle for three yards or maybe two. I think he got two yards. Okay, that's fine. Third down Okay and goal. You're at least going to throw it to a running back, a receiver or a tight end right. Another one into the stands Okay, fourth down, Another one into the stands Okay, fourth down, you got to throw it to a receiver, a running back or a tight end right Into the stands again.
Speaker 3:Into the stands. Yeah, I'm like what is this?
Speaker 1:Didn't it give your guys a chance? Nope, did Russell think he was on the other 10 and had to throw a moon ball? Was that what he was? Was he thought this was moon ball day? I don't know, man. Not one pass went to a receiver, a running back or a tight end. Not good, unbelievable, play calling Unbelievable. I saw this thing on Instagram I think it was Instagram. They said that has got to be the worst series of plays four down series of plays they've ever seen in their life. It was terrible. I don't understand what the whole. I don't understand what that is. I'd rather have a rookie throw it. At least a rookie is going to try to fit it in there, right. You have those papers.
Speaker 1:Who's arguably? I'll say this, this is how I'll word it he's arguably the future best receiver. You know bright young stars, right, he's definitely a bright young star, but he's arguably could be the best receiver in the NFL in the coming years, right with his progression and stuff. And he don't even get a look. No, Tyrone Tracy out. I think he's on IR. I don't know if he's here, IR I have a nasty-looking injury there.
Speaker 2:What Good?
Speaker 1:news he got bit backwards. Oh backwards. I thought it was. Yeah, his knee got bit backwards. Yeah, it was bad.
Speaker 2:Oh, right, right, right. Yeah, it was awesome.
Speaker 1:Cam, mr CTE himself, cam Scadaboo. Oh, I said he was going to start. I did not say I don't ever wish injury on anybody, but I said he was going to get his chance. Scadababo showed up. Heck, yeah. Shout out Reekin, reekin, beast. Yeah, hey what's up?
Speaker 1:Yeah, he said Scadabo's. Yes, scadabo, that's my boy. You know I'm a big Cam Scadabo fan. I have him in one of my leagues lunch pail guy. He looks for the hit. That's right, he looks for the hit. But yeah, ugly game, ugly game, yeah. And then we have the Monday night football game. Were you able to watch that?
Speaker 2:I watched the fourth quarter after I got off of work.
Speaker 1:yeah, Another key, derrick Henry, fumbled in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2:Yeah, dude, I mean he, he does not have the reputation of being a fumbler. He doesn't fumble, no, yeah, and then at both of his fumbles this year.
Speaker 1:You could argue and say I don't always believe it's one play. I'm not one of those guys. But you could argue and say that those two fumbles cost the game because they are key moments in the game yeah it was unreal. Detroit ran all over Baltimore, which was unheard of Baltimore, missing their key defensive lineman, nanandi I can't remember the rest of his name- yeah, buke yeah.
Speaker 1:Something like that. Yeah, he was out, so he was missed. They were pinned on a two-yard line and put together a 16-play drive where they ran it 90% of the time right down Nate Throat's into the end zone. That is unheard of against Baltimore defense. Unheard of. Unheard of Lamar. I wish he would have stopped throwing the paint and then throw the Zay Flowers. The Zay Flowers did not get in the game at all. I think he had one target. I kind of laughed in the fourth because I saw how it was going and I was kind of busy. Let me see if I can pull it up real quick. It was not. I saw his one target and when he made it, when he caught it, they said finally he gets a target. Yes, yeah, let me just go to actually. Oh no, he had teed up with three targets so they threw it to him. More than a set close Two for 13 yards. That's all I got for him.
Speaker 1:Hello, welcome back Mark Andrews, though Six for 91, two tutties. I'm on Ross St, though 6 for 91, two tutties. Amon Ross, st Brown 7 for 77 and a tutty Shout out, david Montgomery. He had way less carries. He had 10 less carries than Jameer Gibbs but more than doubled his yardage total because of the two big runs that he had. He had a 72-yard run. Both running backs scored two touchdowns. They are now the leading and Statboy would normally say this the leading duo of running backs, leading in games where two running backs score the duo the pair.
Speaker 1:They were tied at 11, and in the second one they got the other one at the end. They did it in the end. So yeah, or maybe it's just one touchdown, but they both scored. They have the most combined boy. They both scored rushing touchdown. Tied for the first, tied for the first. So shout out with that. But yeah, week three, nfl again. Defenses went nuts. Pick sixes everywhere, fumble recoveries everywhere. Block Defenses went nuts. Pick sixes everywhere, fumble recoveries everywhere, block field goals everywhere, block punts. It was just an insane amount of football today. It was very weird and if this is a future of what we have to come this year, it's anybody's game.
Speaker 3:I'm all for it.
Speaker 1:I am for it too. Chaos is back baby, that too. Chaos is back baby, that's right.
Speaker 2:Chaos is back. Anarchy at the Shield. Folks 2K25, baby.
Speaker 1:What do you got next, Ryan?
Speaker 2:Nah, it's crazy. Well, we have our preview of week four matchups here Rapid Fire style and Floyd. Let the world know what is the score between me and you, right?
Speaker 1:now it is tied for last place. We are tied. Oh hold on, that's Survivor. I'm definitely not in that. I lost that one early. Hold on, we got the pool here. Yeah me and you are tied for 10th at 18 points. Apiece, Shout out Bobby and Goose, the leader at 30. So we're 12 back, baby.
Speaker 2:You ready?
Speaker 1:Yep, let's do this, I mean back-to-back weeks of 10 and 12 and 11 and 13 for Goose and Bobby just nailed it for them. Gosh Week four. We've got this All right, let's go. And we noticed we're doing this really early, before any of the news and notes come out before any injuries.
Speaker 1:So we're already at a disadvantage, but we don't care, because we like it tough. Yep, absolutely so let's keep going, unless you, do you, go back and change yours. You don't go change yours, do you Ryan? No, absolutely not. Yeah, I'd be forgetting. If I don't do it now, I'll forget. Yep same here. Thursday night football. We have the Seattle Seahawks traveling to Arizona Seahawks are plus one and a half.
Speaker 2:Oh, my, all, right, I will pick. Oh man, arizona. That's a tough way to lose against San Francisco. They are at home here. Against Seattle. I am going to pick Seattle. I'm going to pick with the hot team. I'm going to pick with the hot team, I'm going to go with the hot team as well.
Speaker 1:I'm going with Seattle. You got to remember, though, too, this was Arizona's first loss. They started off 2-0. I think the loss of James Conner really hurts them. They do have a young running back. I can't remember his name. That's pretty good.
Speaker 2:Trey Benson.
Speaker 1:Yes, trey Benson, it's Trey Benson time, so we'll have to see what happens. Maybe Marvin Harrison learns how to catch a ball. Next we have the Minnesota Vikings 2-1, playing Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Steelers Steelers are plus 2-1. So the Vikings are favored.
Speaker 2:Well, actually, floyd, they're in your neck of the woods. They are going to be playing in Dublin. Oh shoot.
Speaker 1:That's right. Yes, in Dublin. Huh, that's right. Aaron Rodgers is going to be in Ireland. Yes, yes.
Speaker 2:But Minnesota favored two and a half here. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 1:I'm taking Minnesota dude. I cannot go away from that defense. I think it's going to give Aaron Rodgers and then Fitz. That line is not good. They are struggling right now offensively. I wonder who their offensive coordinator is. Can you remind me?
Speaker 2:Oh boy, I didn't want to give you PTSD. Man, that's your Baltimore. Yes, Arthur Smith against Flores' defense.
Speaker 1:Yeah, no, I'm taking Flores' defense every single time.
Speaker 2:I agree. I'll take Minnesota to the hot team on this one, even though Pittsburgh barely beat New England. You figured that Pittsburgh would kind of be. You know, with Rooney being in Ireland and all that, that it's a home game. But I agree with you. Not only is that defense on fire, I like Jordan Mason, that running back man, jordan Mason, dude, wow, wow, sleeper, if you snagged him in redraft leagues.
Speaker 1:He Jordan, Mason dude. Wow, Wow, Sleeper, If you snagged him in redraft leagues he could be a league winner. He looks like a potential league winner right now. Washington, your guys Going to ATL shawty Favored by three and a half.
Speaker 2:Well, I am picking the commanders, even if Mariota starts at quarterback. Like I said last week, the fuck you, mariota, or Mariota telling the teams fuck you, even though he will never say it, because he's such a nice guy. Nice guy, oh my gosh, he already got the Raiders off the list. Now the Falcons are next. It's happening, even with the three and a half Atlanta looking very sorry against Carolina, and I like the headspace that my commanders are in. They're going to pound the ball right down the throat, even in ATL.
Speaker 1:All right, I'm going with ATL in this one. I think the three and a half is very favorable and that's why I'm taking it. I'm taking the three and a half. I do know that they're having kicker problems right now. The guy they replaced Coe with could not kick anything. He kicks, like me right now. However, I am not going for a Mariota. I'm not being fooled by the Mariota game. Mariota's going to show his true self. Yeah, nope, I'm going with Atlanta. They're going to go. Raheem Morris is going to get them boys ready and they're going to bounce back and they're going to beat your commanders. Let me rephrase they're going to beat Mariota and the commander. Let me rephrase Mariota's going to beat the commanders. The 0-3 Saints go to Buffalo to play the Bills with a spread of plus 16.5. My, my, oh my. This is trap written all over it. Yes, all over it, dude. Yes, we need to think about this in foremoto and we don't really want to do analysis of this, because it's the Saints and the Bills.
Speaker 2:Right.
Speaker 1:So if it was Moneyline straight, I would do way better in these pickups if it was Moneyline, but it's because it's the spread as well 16 and a half. I have not seen a 16 and a half in a long time.
Speaker 2:Same here. Yep, the, what are you going to do? Here's what I'm going to do. I am actually going to take a chance and I am picking Buffalo, even though I had 15 and a half on my script, but 16 and a half is the current line right now with Sleeper. Here's what I think. I think Buffalo yeah, they're 3-0. But I don't think they were really too pleased with their Miami performance. I think they're going to get right in this game. They're going to clean things up and they're going to execute. They're going to clean things up and they're going to execute. The thing that you have to watch out for is is the Saints going to get that backdoor touchdown in the fourth quarter? You know down 21.
Speaker 1:And then you know Rattler, whoever throws to my man, chris Olave Remind me, how many points did the Saints put up last week, this past weekend?
Speaker 2:Was it 13?
Speaker 1:or something. Did they end up with 13? Yeah, 44-13 by the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle's house Taking Buffalo. I agree with you. Yes, they were not happy with that performance. They've also got a couple of extra days of rest. I'm going with that that, even though I do feel it is a trap. They might take the foot off the gas early. We'll have to see. But I definitely think that they're going to cover 16.5. Buffalo by 17 and a very interesting game. Here we have the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 2:Trap, trap, trappy, plus eight and a half on the road against Detroit Lions.
Speaker 1:Oh my God, Another trap game.
Speaker 2:I am tempted to pick Cleveland here. Floyd, I think Detroit on the short week, I think, really was focused on Baltimore. They got their big victory. I can see Cleveland gain a late score to go back door cover on the Lions here, even though I agree with you on this one.
Speaker 1:This is a very dangerous game. Chase Brown they held to 43 yards. Derek Henry they held to 23 yards.
Speaker 2:Oh, you're muted there, floyd. Oh, you're muted there, floyd. Sorry, technical difficulties, we'll get Floyd right back on up here as he was explaining about Cleveland's faunted run defense here. Let's see, do I have to? Is it me? Nope, it's me. Can you hear me? Yep, you're good now, all right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so you had Josh Jacobs held to 30 yards, 23 for Derrick Henry and, I think, 40 for Chase Brown or something like that, and now you have Jameer Gibbs and David Montgomery coming into town. All of these other running backs I just mentioned were amongst the leaders of rushing last year. Very scary game. Now here's what I will say Okay Against the Bengals. They were at home.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:Against the Ravens. They were in Baltimore, which is pretty much close enough and a rival, so they're familiar with that stadium. Packers were at home. This game is in Detroit, yes.
Speaker 2:Doesn't phase me. I'm taking Cleveland still yet Eight and a half. Eight and a half phase me. I'm taking Cleveland still yet 8.5. 8.5. Flacco finds Jerry Judy with two minutes left to get that score with it, to bring that score back.
Speaker 1:I'm going Detroit Okay, that's fair. Somebody's O has to go. Okay, that's fair. And a tail somebody's O has to go Okay yes. The Tennessee Titans on the road, a game I normally go to, which means we probably would have won it at Houston, my first time not going to that game in I don't know how many years.
Speaker 2:Yep.
Speaker 1:Seven and a half for the Titans.
Speaker 2:You first, because you've explained to us already. You've been on the record saying that the Titans kind of quit on themselves last week. These are two of the worst teams in football right now.
Speaker 1:Let me rephrase these two teams are playing some of the worst football right now.
Speaker 2:That's accurate.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I am a homer. I'm hoping after this week and the fans get to him and also the players should have some type of dignity and pride, we should be able to come out and win this game. Not only win the game, not only cover, but win the game.
Speaker 1:I'm taking the Titans plus seven and a half. I think Cam Ward shows out here. Cam Ward played at Incarnate Word in San Antonio, I believe. Getting back to Texas, I think he also has a lot of pride to play for. He knows what's being said around the team. He's going to make sure they do not around the team. He's going to make sure they do not lose the game. He's going to do whatever it takes Whoever loses this game. First pick.
Speaker 2:Possibly. Yeah, who is the first pick? This is those quarterbacks, right yeah. Gus Meyer. Or a better question who is the first non-quarterback pick?
Speaker 1:Good question. Probably somebody defensive from the SEC. Yeah, probably Georgia.
Speaker 2:Sounds right around right. Yeah, he's a good dart throw there yeah.
Speaker 1:Probably Georgia Sounds right around right. He's a good dart, good dart, throw there yeah.
Speaker 2:You know, resurgent. Carolina Panthers. Oh, I, I'm picking Tennessee. By the way, folks, I don't think, I don't think Houston scores more than 17 points.
Speaker 1:Take the under in this game, regardless of what it is.
Speaker 2:I don't care if it's 15.
Speaker 1:Take the under Yep Carolina Panthers plus five and a half going into New England.
Speaker 2:That five and a half scares me. Floyd Dude, these are terrifying. Yeah, it's almost like it's baiting me to go. Carolina One and two Carolina. Although they did blank the Falcons last week, momentum has to mean for something New England, they can get yards on you, but not only last week, but I mean kind of it's been their thing in 2025 that they find a way to turn the ball over or shoot themselves in the foot to kill a drive. I give Carolina a good chance. I mean they're taking five. If they were to take five and a half at this point in time, I'll take Carolina.
Speaker 1:I'll take Carolina as well. Five and a half plus all the turnovers, their perennial fumbles. I don't think that's something that gets fixed in a day. So yeah, I don't think so. I think there's a lot more wrong with New England than people think. Just because Vrabel's there, they think, oh, they're about to be contenders. That's not going to happen. New England had a lot more issues than that. I'm going carolina. Carolina got a taste of some victory, how it feels and a blowout victory and a shutout, something they haven't done in I don't know how long. Um, it feels good and they're going to want to do what they did last the week prior, to get ready for that game, for this one, because it's contagious, winning is contagious. I think they they steal this and definitely cover the five and a half.
Speaker 2:And you know one more thing, philly, before we move on If you think about it, you take the Falcons game and you take the fourth quarter of the previous game against the Cardinals. If I can't do the math right offhand, but I think they've scored around 50 points and gave up less than two touchdowns in that span. So they're definitely on a roll.
Speaker 1:On a roll. Definitely Chargers, top team in the AFC minus six and a half going to New York to face Cam Scadaboo and the New York Football Giants. Oh yeah, you got the accent going there, right, the New York Football.
Speaker 2:Giants. Oh yeah, you got the accent going already. The New York yeah, I caught that there. New York Football Giants yeah, new York, it's an early game too, it's a 1 o'clock game. Chargers going all the way across to the East Coast. Six and a half points, jackson Dard, jackson Dard, jackson Dard's that quarterback. I'll be more optimistic of picking the Giants, but I bet for all of the above. I think this is the opportunity for the Chargers to solidify that number one ranking on the AFC side of things. This is a must win. Are they touchdown better than the Giants? Yeah, if everything that they've demonstrated in the past three weeks shows any indication. Yeah, I think they can be touchdown better on the road.
Speaker 1:I'll take the. Chargers I agree. I think I'm going to take the Chargers as well. Man touchdown. That touchdown is scary though it is. Who's the quarterback of New York? That's what I need to know.
Speaker 2:Until then, I'm taking the Chargers.
Speaker 1:Okay, there Another matchup, potential NFC championship matchup the Philadelphia Eagles on the road, three and a half point favorites against the future MVP of the year, baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 2:Again the way this line has been put out. Floyd, it's almost daring you to pick Tampa Bay and a great comeback by the Eagles against the Rams. But I think there is some things that the Eagles need to fix. I bet they're going right into Tampa and there's something about teams that win close games a lot. You know, I don't know, I kind of favor those teams, even though the Eagles did technically win in the last second, also themselves. I don't know. I'll pick Tampa Bay. I'll stop with the reasoning. I feel Tampa Bay with this.
Speaker 1:I feel like Tampa Bay is going to win this game regardless and I've given them plus three and a half is a bonus to me. Tampa Bay looks really good right now. Baker's been able to play through injuries. I know Mike Evans got banged up in this last one. It doesn't stop Tampa Bay Plus. They have that it factor. They're never out of a game. They never quit Offensively. It looks like they found something, but man Never quit Offensively. It looks like they found something, but man, it's funny, you throw to AJ Brown and fucking win a game. Your offense looks better.
Speaker 1:Let me not win a game, but your offense looks way better. It's amazing how that works. How about you guys do it again, do it again, but I'm still taking Tampa Bay.
Speaker 2:Yep. A shout-out to Jamel Dean Pick six against the Jets. I know you referenced that a little bit earlier and I forgot who the guy was. Yep.
Speaker 1:Jaguars 2-1, plus 4.5, going to San Fran to play the Niners.
Speaker 2:Gosh, another under. Please pick the under in this one. That's probably the easiest take that I have. Also, on this game, I do not like the Jaguars at all. I said this last week, I said it the week before, even though they won. The problem with the Niners is they can't score touchdowns, but are they four and a half better? I say yes, floyd. The problem with the Niners is they can't score touchdowns, but are they four and a half better? I say yes, floyd. I agree with you as well.
Speaker 1:I also believe that Brock Purdy might be playing next game.
Speaker 2:Ah, okay.
Speaker 1:They said that they might have been ready to play this week, but they wanted to hold him out another week. So I think he might be able to play next week. If that's the case, then definitely take a San Fran, but I'm taking San Fran regardless. I don't believe in Jacksonville either, so yeah, going with them. Potential Superbowl matchup Los Angeles Rams at home at my favorite, by three and a half over the Indianapolis Colts.
Speaker 2:Oh Lord, oh Lord.
Speaker 3:Man.
Speaker 2:You know, when you lose games, like the Rams did against the Eagles, a game that they should have on the road, and so forth, I think the extremes can happen. Right, it can go two ways, obviously. One, they're going to blow out the Colts or they're going to lose by double digits against the Colts. I think that's what's going to happen in this contest. With that said, I like the Rams still yet here.
Speaker 3:What the hell was that?
Speaker 2:It was a double reverse, floyd. That's what I call it, a double reverse, that's what I call it.
Speaker 1:I'm taking the Rams, the Colts, going to California To play on the road. I think that's. I think the Cinderella Time is up, pretty fair, yeah, I believe that time is up. Daniel Jones is going to go back to looking like Daniel Jones. If not, you already know what next week's going to bring. Yes, sir, true test, yes, and a game against Has-been's greats the 1-2 Baltimore Ravens on the road at the 1-2 Kansas City Chiefs. Are they going to flex this game to the 1 o'clock game or something? Because I hope this. Oh no, it is. Yeah, they need to flex this game to Thursday night football or something, because this isn't. This should not be on prime time. Oh no, it's not on prime time. Okay, cool yeah, these two terrible teams, right? Oh, cool yeah these two terrible teams.
Speaker 1:Right, oh, man Shout out. Kansas City getting their first win of the year this week.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, yay for them. I mean two, one and two teams. I think this is a pretty good pretender versus contender thing for next week. But the loser of this game is going to be 1-3, obviously. But you know, you have the feeling that even though they're 1-3, the season's not over, right.
Speaker 1:I agree the season's not over. However, for the Kansas City Chiefs, if they go down 1-3 to the Chargers, oh yeah, and the Broncos too.
Speaker 2:It's pretty bad.
Speaker 1:I think that's pretty bad. So good point it's two and a half point favorites for the, for the Baltimore Ravens. This is the game that Baltimore wins, it's not the playoff.
Speaker 2:I'm going with Baltimore yeah, I'll go for Baltimore too. I think they'll come out with a vengeance in this one here, and I think they'll come out with a vengeance in this one here, and I think Vegas feels the same way too, giving them or making them the road faves.
Speaker 1:Absolutely the resurgent Chicago Bears. Do they continue their trend and destroy the Las Vegas Raiders? The spread is one and a half. Bears are the favorite on the road.
Speaker 2:Oh, my goodness.
Speaker 1:You took way too long for this one. I already know what you're thinking about. I'm taking the Bears. You're taking the Bears, really, I'm taking the Bears. Yes, I think they found something in Luther Burden and Roma Dunze. I think they're. That was a great. I think, again, the winning is a contagious thing, and for them to go in Dallas and beat Dallas like that, I don't think they're going to have a problem with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 2:But would it be such a Raider thing to do to, after getting blown up, giving up 200 plus on the ground, to cinch up a little bit at home against the Bears? I don't know. I am taking way too long for this. You know what I'm going to take the Bears too. It pains me, but yeah.
Speaker 1:What kind of brought us together? Is it a catch? The first we got to find the film on that, the first ever Big Cajunas football podcast. Yes. At Big Cajunas. Was it a catch? Yes, the. Green Bay Packers on the road at Dallas. Seven and a half point favorites, oh my.
Speaker 2:God, I mean first of all, great shout there, floyd. The OG broadcast of the Big Cajunas football podcast, maybe 13 years ago, I believe. Craziness as far as this game goes, the 7.5 scares me a little bit, but I think as far as this is a get-right opportunity. Michael Parsons is getting three sacks here in this game. Maybe two sacks. Maybe three is a little bit too much. Michael's getting at least a couple sacks Maybe three is a little bit too much. Micah's getting at least a couple sacks. For starters. Green Bay's getting a defensive six points also in this contest. I'm taking Green Bay, I'm bullish on them. There we go.
Speaker 1:Alright, cool, I took Dallas. Seven and a half also scares me as well, so I'm not. I do believe the Packers win this game, but I'm taking the seven and a half. That's what I'm betting on. I think it's going to be a lot closer than what you think. The Adam Gase Bowl New York Jets plus two and a half.
Speaker 2:What an atrocious Monday night pairing here. Oh yeah, god, I'm taking the Jets on this one. Oh my. God.
Speaker 1:I'm not taking the Jets, I'm taking the Miami Dolphins man. Miami Dolphins are at home. They had a good showing against the Bills. I feel like the Jets are in disarray. Remember they benched Justin Fields.
Speaker 2:That's great. That's why I'm picking the Jets. Let's go. T-mobile.
Speaker 1:T-Mobile.
Speaker 2:Sorry.
Speaker 3:Tua T-Mobile.
Speaker 1:And to finish up this garbage, we have the Cincinnati Bengals plus seven and a half against Denver. I'm not even going to analyze this, I'm taking Denver. I think Denver is not showing they don't play like their record shows, they play tough, and I do think Cincinnati is in a missile for the top five pick and drop. What say you?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I've been four Bengals fans. My goodness Really, though, four Bengals fans.
Speaker 1:Yeah yeah, the rims are shiny though Engine's trash, but the rims are shiny.
Speaker 2:Oh man, yeah, they threw four of those Walmart spinner ones from 1999. Yeah, you could get for a hundred bucks at that time.
Speaker 1:Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely you could get for 100 bucks at that time, absolutely, absolutely. I think we're losing Ryan real quick, so we're gonna definitely have to speed this up. He's starting to freeze on me a little bit. He had a crossover question with me. For me, let's see if he has it. Do you have the crossover question?
Speaker 2:I'm excited for this one. Yes, I do.
Speaker 1:All right, you're coming in. Yeah, you were freezing up a little bit. Yes, I do.
Speaker 2:If for some, oh, sorry about that, all right. So, unlike last week's one, floyd, this is a case of I guess you want to call it the butterfly effect meets quantum leap. Okay, I'm going to bring up three events that you probably are very familiar with, and I want you to choose. Which event would you change and what I mean by that? I'll lay it out for you and then we'll go from there. Okay, so let's start with the first event, floyd. The date is September 21st 1997. Peyton Manning is in approaching the red zone, throws a pass, gets intercepted by Tony George of the Florida Gators and takes it house 86 yards the other way. I hate you, okay. And Tennessee never had a skin in this game. In fact, this will be their only loss of the 1997 season and the regular season before they lost. What are?
Speaker 2:you doing.
Speaker 2:What are you doing? Okay, so that's one. Okay, number two oh wait, I have it written here somewhere. I'm sorry, I didn't write it well enough. Okay, number two Floyd, october 27, 1991.
Speaker 2:The Braves and the eighth inning of game seven versus the Minnesota Twins. Terry Pendleton hits a double, lonnie Smith for some reason does not round third, stops at third. Only a batter or two later, sid Green grounds into a double play in which the first out was recorded at home, and then you knew the rest from there after that. That's event number two. And then event number three January 30, the year 2000,. The Super Bowl. And it's not what you think. I hate you so much right now.
Speaker 2:It was second and seven. Mcnair drops back to pass, tries to find Isaac Bird on a spot route, but he is held up by Dexter McLean, by the Rams, which does not get called. Remember, this is second and seven and they were on the Ram 26-yard line. This eventually led it to Aldo Greco field goal to tie it at 16, but it was an obvious hold. In fact, dexter McLean held twice. The Rams did not call it Now. So I laid out these three events here. If you can pick one event that you could change, and if you do change it, chances are that the result will be favorable. That will reverse one of these three painful events in your sports lifetime. Floyd, which one do you pick, and why?
Speaker 2:I can't believe you dude, I want to keep up with this at my lunch break, dude, you took me back man to like some of the most frustrating times of my sports watching career. Don't worry, you can do it to me too. Oh my goodness, dude, but if you could change one of these three events, which one would you pick, and why?
Speaker 1:Tennessee. Wow, okay, so the volunteers. Peyton Manning, who never beat Florida, correct, only loss. So the volunteers.
Speaker 3:Peyton Manning, who never beat Florida, correct.
Speaker 1:Only loss of the season. We win that game, we're in the championship and we more than likely win because we were pretty unstoppable that game. It was just the mental of getting over Florida, right for him, atlanta Braves, that era of time that you're talking about, that pocket of time, not even arguable in my eyes. It's not even arguable. The greatest pitching staff, pitching rotation in the history of baseball Yep 13 straight division titles one world series.
Speaker 1:We had the pitching. We had historic pitching. However, we didn't have the bats to match the pitching that we had and we were still very dominant every single year. That shows you how great that pitching was.
Speaker 2:Starting pitching.
Speaker 1:Starting pitching. Yes, the pitching rotation was Tennessee Titans. That Super Bowl means a lot to me. I remember I cried at the end of that Super Bowl. I was very sad. I thought that was our game, we had it. There will never be I've said it plenty of times there will never be a warrior like Steve McNair on the football field. In my opinion and I know, everybody has their own warrior right for their teams and stuff like that, but there was nobody like Steve McNair for what he did and where he came from. He came from an HBCU and was second in the Heisman. He an HBCU, which wasn't even D1, and was second in the Heisman.
Speaker 1:Never happened, then comes the NFL, a small market team, and in that magical year sat for years, a couple years behind Chris Chandler and in those couple years he starts. And when we first get our stadium we moved to Tennessee and that was the most magical season ever for any Tennessee sports fan. Uh, we were never out of a game. It is actually the last time that we've had a quarterback where, no matter how bad or how crazy the game went, we knew that when it's five minutes to go in a game we're gonna have a chance to win and more than likely we're gonna win. And that man the nfl chose not to let that man win the mvp. They decided to do a co-mvp with peton Manning, which I thought was messed up, but it was Tennessee too, so I was like I'm a Peyton Tennessee guy, so I was like alright punks, but for that guy coming from Alcorn State to be the best quarterback in the NFL is magical. That was a magical year.
Speaker 1:If there's anything that I would change out of any three out of those three things, it would be hands down without a doubt in my mind the Tennessee Super Bowl. For McNair to finish that year off with a Super Bowl win. Not only would that have changed that play, if that play went a different way, way, or they called the holdings or whatever would have changed the result in us winning the Super Bowl, our first and only Super Bowl. It may have also changed the events that happened, unfortunately with his life, you're right. So, without a doubt. Unfortunately with his life, you're right. So without a doubt, I would definitely take the Titans Super Bowl.
Speaker 2:Yeah, wow, well, you heard it here. Folks, and for any of our regular listeners, our DFL ones especially, I challenge you if you want to come on our pod and you want to face I don't know what I'm going to call this segment, I could just do the crossover. The crossover. There you go, shouts out to AI and shouts out to the Braves Alcorn State Braves.
Speaker 1:Yep, absolutely, absolutely.
Speaker 2:Wow, thanks for sharing. That felt way more Therapeutic than I thought.
Speaker 3:Holy cow Speaking of therapeutic Good.
Speaker 1:Transition to the final word Yep, it was something I saw recently, not recently I've been trying to get right, you know, from a physical standpoint, right. So I hired a personal trainer is what I'm trying to say. Having this new job where I work, uh well, sedimentary, the whole time, right, so I work, uh, uh, on a desk pretty much the whole time, right, it kind of changes you. I'm like man, I used to be super active and stuff started getting to me. I was like, let me change my, let me change something, let me make some moves. So I decided to hire a personal trainer. He actually comes to the house. Shout out, boomer, um, he comes to the house. Shout out, boomer, he comes to the house. If you're in Vegas and you need one, please, please, hit me up. I will pass you on information. He is amazing, but a very good guy, right. So obviously I'm interviewing a bunch of them and different.
Speaker 1:Look at all the stuff and getting all the spam and everything. And sign up with our program and do all this blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, I didn't need any of that thing. And sign up with our program and do all this blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I didn't need any of that. I needed, uh, someone that was going to meet literally the needs that I wanted. And I know, for me personally, I'm I need to be, uh, trained a certain way or I do better a certain way. I need someone yelling at me, I need someone come military, right. So I need someone holding not even yelling at me because he doesn't yell, but holding me accountable Period. Sure, holding me accountable, right, and I really appreciate that. Not only that, I do believe that God puts people, god's put certain people in your path, right, I don't know this guy from Adam, I didn't know him from Adam or whatever.
Speaker 1:And we started working out together and you know, obviously we're talking and everything and getting to know each other a lot better, and I, literally, we talked about something that really stuck with me and it was spiritual defense, right, spiritual defense. So think spiritual defense, right, spiritual defense. So think about defense, right? Uh, one of the topics and I'll kind of get to the point real quick but, um, eliminating things, people and things in your life. That lowers your spiritual defense. So think about it.
Speaker 1:You're being attacked every day, right, your spiritual defense is being attacked every single day. You have temptations, you have all these different things that come up in your life that just make you have bad thoughts, and it could be anything right, and I'm not saying you have to be religious or anything like that. I'm not pushing that at all. What I'm saying is you could have you have numerous things that happen in a day that test you right that someone steps on your shoe, doesn't hold the door for you, cut you off on the road, someone who's trying to get you to go, do something that you know is just not cool, or whatnot. Those are all things that are attacking your spiritual defense.
Speaker 1:A significant other, anything that just nags or whatever that pushes buttons, or being in a relationship of any sign that pushes buttons or does things to test your spiritual defense. So I have done what I have done and I'm going to, or what I'm working on. Let me rephrase what I'm working on is getting rid and this has been a journey for me now of those people and things that lowers my spiritual defense, which is my ability to fight off those attacks. So I challenge you as well to take an overview of your life, do a diagnostics of your life and anything that you have in your life people places things, whatever that challenges your spiritual defense, look at trying to remove them Because you do not want that to be lowered. On that note, I am that boy Floyd, he is Hawaiian Brian and we are the Big kahunas football podcast. Peace out.
