I am cheering for you!

Hey friends, this week on the podcast, I'm going to be sharing an excerpt from one of the programs I teach called Invest in Your Dreams. I'm talking about the power of having your own podcast. I think that almost everybody could benefit from creating their own podcast. A podcast can help you write a book. Maybe you lead an organization and often repeat the same information over and over again. Having a podcast is a way to share information and allow people to listen when it works and be able to go a little bit deeper. The hope is that by listening to the overview, you can see it's not that hard. It's something that you really can do on your own. If you want a community to help you, my new podcast course will be kicking off in May of 2025. I'd love to have you join us. The information is at my website, kellytibbitts, or you could send me a message on Facebook or Instagram. Welcome to the Live A Vibrant Life podcast. I'm life coach Kelly Tibbitts and each week I'll be here to encourage and equip you with the tools you need to grow in self-awareness and invest your best energy in your dreams and your purpose. I believe self-awareness changes everything. Let's get started. This week I'm going to be talking about creating a podcast. What you have to share with the world is important. A podcast is a way for you to not repeat information, and that's exciting. If you can take the time now and record it, use the transcript to maybe make a blog post or to make a small book, you're going to be able to save yourself a lot of time and energy. When we think about a podcast, the first thing we want to think about is where are we going to record? Being able to use D Script, which is D-E-S-C-R-I-P-T, has been incredible. I'm recording this in Descript without a microphone. I think the technology has come so far. When you are deciding how you're gonna record. Are you going to Start by using your phone, your laptop, professional microphone headphones? Where do you want to record? Really good, clear podcasting can be done in a closet with a microphone and headphones. You don't need to get much more expensive than that. You can edit an Instagram live. Downloading it and then using that as the podcast a lot of people start off podcasting having guests on because it just feels a little bit easier to have somebody onto your podcast and have a conversation with them. One thing that my business partner Ellen pointed out after I'd done about 20 podcasts was that when I had guests on, I wasn't clear that we were there to talk about topics that had to do with my program. I'm not even sure when I started my podcast, if I knew what it meant to live a vibrant life. I've grown in my own understanding. If you're going to have guests on, make sure that you are clear about what the conversation will be about. And then make sure you get that information to them so they know it's not about them promoting whatever it is they're working on. It's a conversation that's important to you. Maybe you decide for every two that you do alone, you're going to have somebody on. It's great to have guests on. They're going to be able to promote your podcast with you. They're gonna be able to give you some new insight then maybe invite you over to their podcast, which again gets you more and more people to listen. Getting ready to create the podcast is the best time to come up with the plan. You want to decide, what is the podcast going to be about? Having some sort of outline is going to be helpful. You want to be able to save it in some kind of system. Record an intro and an outro. Take the time to write a script. If you record that, intro you can add it at the beginning of the podcast after it's recorded. The benefit of having your own intro at the start of the podcast is if you decide you want to change it up, you can. Take the time to write that out word by word and make sure you practice it a few times and then get into the aligned energy that will allow you to share it within, the vibration in your voice, with the energy in your voice that you want. Try to get into really good energy as you're recording it. So start with an outline of what you're going to say. Starting off with your plan is going to benefit you in the long run. What are you going to do? Spend some time this week thinking about what is the purpose of your podcast? Notice why you want to have a podcast. If you have an organization where you don't necessarily need a podcast, but you keep saying the same things over and over again, having a private podcast that people can listen to and read the transcript can be very beneficial. Even though we want to believe that trainings can really transform people, new information doesn't always stay in our system in a way that we can apply it. Podcasts that you could listen to a couple of times might serve onboarding. Taking the transcript and using it as a blog, or create a book with it, use it for email I think back to when I led children's ministry would've been great to have a podcast where, I was sharing the different lessons we were offering the families, maybe some encouragement to the families, and also reiterate the mission and the vision of the program. You want to have some clarity about what you're doing, why you're doing it, and then next you want to notice how to record, edit, post. Take some time over the next few weeks and Notice what you want to share- grab a notebook, a Google file, whatever is the place that you're gonna put the information, notice what you want to share. You want to share a book that you're learning from, Share a coaching tool. or a devotional that's been speaking to you. A podcast a week is a really great way to grow an audience. However that takes perhaps more time and energy than you have. When I began, I was doing A podcast once a month, and I think that was really good because I didn't have a lot of clarity of what I was even sharing. Going once a month and allowing it to go slowly was actually quite helpful. Buzzsprout is the platform I recommend for hosting I publish A podcast a week directly to Buzzsprout. If you're doing one podcast a month, it might not be best to publish until you have two or three podcasts recorded. My final suggestion to you for today is just to download descript and to press record. I think descript might only be on your laptop. You can record right from your laptop. I'm not currently using a microphone for this. Once you publish it, you'll be able to see how fun and easy it is. A podcast is a great way to grow an audience. Thank you for joining the Live A Vibrant Life podcast. I hope our time together encourage you and we'll equip you with the tools to a brave, creative purpose-filled life.
