Show Notes

Athens could not hold out against the Spartan-Dorian Alliance... especially with Persia funneling money into the war. The once mighty and marvelous greek world had burned to the ground in a war of attrition. The population was devastated, the fields were burned, and the cities were ripped down. Eventually, the mighty walls of Athens fell, and the Spartans stormed the capital city.

The History of Modern Greece covers the events of the Greek People from the fall of Constantinople in 1453 to the Greek War of Independence in 1821-1832, all the way through to the Greco-Turkish War from 1919 to 1922.
