Welcome to Stories Come to Life. I am your host, Kathryn Lopez Luker. Most of Sara’s life is filled with drudgery and loneliness, hunger and cold. But every now and then she is able to look out at the beautiful sunsets visible from her attic window and immerse herself in their splendid beauty. One day, after the house next door is finally inhabited, she meets a new friend, and his pet monkey, who have come up to the attic window just opposite hers to also enjoy the beauty of the sunset. Life is still very hard, but that small bit of beauty helps Sara endure and continue to practice being a princess in disguise.
