Texas-sized life update, and immediately gets roasted for abandoning both the podcast and his controller. The guys dive into Resident Evil 9, where Leon is basically an action hero demigod, and the rest of us are hiding in lockers questioning our life choices. From terrifying stalker enemies that made Jaime quit mid-session to puzzles so easy they might as well come with IKEA instructions, it’s a mix of praise, panic, and playful trash talk. Bottom line: great game—unless you value sleep, courage, or emotional stability.

Tony Sisk
Hi folks, welcome back to Good2GameRadio. And Jaime, welcome back to you. It's been several weeks ah and it's good to have you back on the show. I know you've got a big life change coming up. I'll let you share that with the audience.
00:00:18.10
Tony Sisk
But let's ah let's jump into it. Tonight we're talking about Resident Evil 9 that just came out a couple months ago. And we we're finally getting around to having a discussion about it.
00:00:31.08
Jaime G
Yep. Tony, it's good to be back, man. Thank you. Thank you for the patience. I know that there's been a couple episodes recorded. There's been a lot of going on. And you guys have always reached out. And I'm like, I'm the guy i that ah has been saying, I can't. I'm traveling. Oh, I got a big life change coming up. ah So thank you for not kicking me out.
00:00:55.69
Jaime G
Wasn't Vance kicked off of of a bowling team or something?
00:00:59.99
Tony Sisk
yeah No, I think they just finished up there their, their, their season. But I mean, fortunately it's the modern, age modern age and we don't actually have to be at the same location to do a recording. So that's, what's great. We have software that we use, which allows us to sit in different, you know, places and, and, and have our discussions and we can continue to do that.
00:01:26.84
Tony Sisk
Even with you, you your I guess this career change that you got going on. So
00:01:33.98
Jaime G
So, I mean, let me just put a little bit of a summary for anybody who's listening. Like, I have not been around because about a month ago, I took a new job. actually took a new job April first When I quit my old job, my boss thought that I was playing a prank on him because of the date that this was happening.
00:01:56.15
Jaime G
um So it's been a whirlwind of you know leaving a job. And I had no break in between. like Literally, the next day, i was...
00:02:07.88
Jaime G
reporting to do the new job and I hadn't really decompressed you know like like giving myself a little bit of time to mourn the passing of the old job and except anyone else more like just go Alex Bialikis, Ever since then i've been traveling back and forth between Tennessee and Texas, mainly because i'm going to be working out of Texas and i'm going to be relocating to Texas so.
00:02:33.85
Jaime G
I had the option. They told me you can work out of Austin or San Antonio. You already know the answer to this, Tony, but I picked San Antonio.
00:02:43.90
Tony Sisk
which was a great choice, I think, because my dad lives in San Antonio. So we were already planning to make some trips down there this year to visit them.
00:02:54.90
Tony Sisk
So while we're there, why not swing by and give you guys a visit too?
00:02:58.48
Jaime G
Dude, yes.
00:02:59.67
Tony Sisk
So it's perfect timing.
00:03:00.44
Jaime G
Absolutely. Thank you. You know, having people come and visit you after you move into a new place that right motivation that you need to really hide all the boxes that are going to be all over the house.
00:03:12.73
Tony Sisk
ah Right.
00:03:12.86
Jaime G
So please, you're welcome. Anyway, that's my big life announcement. I mean, there's a lot more detail, a lot more context. But that's in the gist of it, that's what's happening. And that's what's kept me from gaming much, from being here for the podcast recording. So thank you for your patience. And thank you for not kicking me off the bowling team.
00:03:37.97
Tony Sisk
Well, welcome back. So, um,
00:03:39.83
Jaime G
Yes.
00:03:42.26
Tony Sisk
the last time I think you and I were, I discussion, we, we were talking resident evil. um I had just finished like the last ah seven and eight resident evils.
00:03:55.01
Tony Sisk
And then we were waiting on number nine to come out and it
00:03:59.80
Jaime G
No, we were waiting on you to pick up a copy because you were adamant about picking up a physical edition.
00:04:06.71
Tony Sisk
which I got, I got my physical edition of it.
00:04:08.47
Jaime G
Yes.
00:04:09.82
Tony Sisk
um And I've thought by the time I got this physical edition, Jaime would be done with this game. So I'm like in a rush to get, you know, it get it in the PlayStation five and in play it. I'm like, Oh, he's probably almost done. Like, and then I texted him and he's like, Jaime, where are you at?
00:04:28.09
Tony Sisk
in the game and you're like, Oh, you're still in like the first part of the, of the game or Ashley's in like the mental hospital.
00:04:34.86
Jaime G
Yep. Yep.
00:04:37.22
Tony Sisk
And I'm like, okay. I'm like, I play a little bit and then I end up in the mental hospital. like, okay, I'm in the mental hospital. And then I text you again. I'm like, Hey, where are you at in relationship to this like stalker creature woman? And you're like, Oh, she's still chasing me. I'm like, and I had just gotten past the first encounter with her. I'm like, okay. I'm like, wow, did I ever catch up with you? And you were having what kind of issue? mean,
00:05:06.17
Jaime G
Man, I'm going to, if anybody remembers this, I have always complained that I am a scaredy cat, but I pushed through these games. But the one thing I cannot stand in games like Risen Evil 7 or Outlast is when you have a stalker that's just incredibly overpowered and basically a lot of the gameplay is just running away and you have no chance of survival.
00:05:33.89
Jaime G
Uh, When the the, what's her name, the tall lady oh scared of light character, you get through the first act or one of the beginning acts and you're in, know, Leon basically blows her head off.
00:05:52.15
Jaime G
And I was like, yeah, I can play this game now. I'm loving this. And eventually she shows up again. As soon as she showed up again in the like the basement underneath um the, what is it?
00:06:06.17
Jaime G
the It's not the mansion, but anyway.
00:06:08.95
Tony Sisk
Yeah, it's underneath the met the the the medical mental institution.
00:06:09.34
Jaime G
i The mental institution. best
00:06:13.86
Tony Sisk
It's a bunch of caves and stuff down there.
00:06:15.96
Jaime G
Yeah. OK. So whenever she shows back up, I literally put down the controller and I said, nah-ah.
00:06:26.62
Jaime G
I actually had some choice words, which I'm not going to say here. They basically sum up to nah.
00:06:36.44
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:06:38.01
Jaime G
So I put down that controller and I have not picked it up since.
00:06:42.84
Tony Sisk
Wow. I mean, I thought that i thought that the the scenes with that that oversized
00:06:44.59
Jaime G
I'm a chicken.
00:06:50.62
Tony Sisk
oh patient, it it was one of the girls, right? It was one of the little girls, I think, that had transformed. Spoiler warning. I'm hoping that most people that have already played the game now, that it's...
00:07:01.85
Jaime G
yeah I saw it coming, man. I saw it coming.
00:07:05.75
Tony Sisk
Yeah, you could tell where the yeah where the story was going in that regard.
00:07:05.94
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:07:11.70
Tony Sisk
but Yeah, her stalker mechanic was pretty terrifying. i ah Definitely, because you you had to like shine light on her to get her to back off and
00:07:25.17
Jaime G
Yep.
00:07:25.27
Tony Sisk
and in maneuver. But the this
00:07:30.65
Jaime G
then But then it got when you're in the
00:07:31.35
Tony Sisk
the section where you actually do finally kill her is intense.
00:07:37.18
Jaime G
well but then then when you're in the basement, they give you like this risk reward mechanic of like, hey, you can take like some of these fuses out. But when you do, I mean, basically, she's going to know that you're there. You're not going to have lights. Oh, but you might be able to pick up a little item or something or bullets.
00:07:58.17
Jaime G
I was like, really? The tension buildup that this game does a great job at creating and me being such such a manly man like I am?
00:08:08.95
Jaime G
i thought, really, do I want to do this?
00:08:11.38
Tony Sisk
Yeah. One, there was a one moment in the basement where I was like, I think I i had most of refuses. I was like very close to getting out of that section.
00:08:22.23
Tony Sisk
And then you you had to go get like, like a key or something to drain like this one area. But you crawl through like this little air conditioning vent or whatever it is. ah It's like, ah you have to get down your hands and knees and then you crawl out.
00:08:42.65
Tony Sisk
And it's completely dark where you're at. And then she drops down right behind you. And, um, I thought, what if I just act like stand behind this, like piece, uh, this machinery and don't move. Like, does it have the T-Rex thing where, ah don't move her eyesight's bad, you know?
00:09:02.62
Tony Sisk
So I was like, let me just stand perfectly still. And, uh, no, that doesn't work. Yeah.
00:09:10.18
Jaime G
I did. I could have told you that.
00:09:11.54
Tony Sisk
Yeah. She stares. she She growls at you a couple of times and she just grabs you and bites your head off. So, yeah, you do have to like, you know, maneuver and and find a way around her in the I think in the dark in that one section.
00:09:28.41
Jaime G
Exactly. And see, that's the thing. Like some of these are like really dark areas. And and it again, I think it does a really good job. I will praise this game for its at atmosphere building as you're playing it.
00:09:42.49
Jaime G
It does a superb job. I don't think it hits the parts that I played doesn't hit the Venavento mansion of Resident Evil Village, because that one was terrifying, like hands down, like most terrifying scene in the game and um in recent memory.
00:10:02.23
Jaime G
ah But I was just put, I was just, it just, I got to the point where I said, okay, if this is what what I'm waiting for for the rest of the game, I'd rather just move on to something else.
00:10:19.19
Jaime G
because Because I don't enjoy that.
00:10:19.56
Tony Sisk
right
00:10:24.47
Tony Sisk
um so let's kind of break down a couple of some aspects of the game i guess um what did you think of the uh the the graphics that you ah that you saw yeah
00:10:36.54
Jaime G
Amazing. Amazing. Especially early in game where Leon is outside and there's an outbreak. I think the game could benefit from more of that.
00:10:51.89
Jaime G
It's not just a corridor that you you are mostly going to spend your time in. I think that they did an outstanding job at character creation. Although the main female character at some point gets on my nerves.
00:11:10.65
Jaime G
there She doesn't grow as a character. She's always like this this fidgety, like, but but but what do you what do you want from me kind of person. She never grows out of that.
00:11:21.98
Jaime G
She keeps on acting the same exact way. And you know if if at some point that character kind of starts saying, OK, well, I'm here now. But it's it's like the same over and over. I mean, Leon obviously is Leon.
00:11:39.32
Jaime G
And this game has risen to be, I think, the highest selling Resident Evil game like ever.
00:11:46.81
Tony Sisk
right
00:11:47.06
Jaime G
So I think it's pretty sure that we will we will see Leon in more installments of this this series now.
00:11:55.74
Tony Sisk
yeah i i like the visual the visuals of the game um especially in the environments uh the characters have that resident evil kind of like washed out look to them um But as far as like the environments and stuff, I ah really liked those.
00:12:20.60
Tony Sisk
um Though I think the mental hospital was pretty clean. like you know It's like very sterile looking. And there's a couple of areas that are like that in the game as a whole.
00:12:29.14
Jaime G
yeah
00:12:33.30
Tony Sisk
um If you like Leon, you're going to love Leon in this. This is like... this is like premium Leon action hero, unstoppable, like just load it up on a bunch of bullets.
00:12:46.18
Jaime G
Right.
00:12:50.11
Tony Sisk
That's all you need. Like,
00:12:51.70
Jaime G
Oh, oh tony Tony, before I forget, there was this one video of this guy on YouTube that said he he he's basically acting like, hey, here's Leon in cut scenes.
00:12:52.95
Tony Sisk
ah
00:13:04.41
Jaime G
And he's like doing back flips, jumping over cars, catching bullets with his fingers. Here's Leon in game. And he's walking and he comes across a bucket. And he has to like walk around the bucket.
00:13:19.22
Tony Sisk
right but like i mean he's just super tough you know like and i it was playing leon is just easy like it's fun it's action you you just you know you just get to you get to enjoy just blasting zombies and monsters and stuff like that with with leon
00:13:43.77
Jaime G
okay, what did you think about the mechanic, the fact that you're going through parts through the perspective of two different characters and in some places even going through the same parts as two different characters?
00:13:57.75
Jaime G
Whereas one character, you know, Leon, you just described him, but then you have another one that man, I'm going to tell you, i got irked so many times because of not having inventory space to add that one thing I was picking up and then like have to go back to like a box, drop off things, and then come back and pick up the one thing I needed to progress.
00:14:17.30
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:14:24.95
Tony Sisk
Yeah, yeah. Managing your inventory. at a That's a mini gameme within the game a game.
00:14:29.18
Jaime G
Yeah, but but but it's only one character that I had that problem with.
00:14:30.49
Tony Sisk
Yeah. Yeah, yeah I mean, I... ah ah I mean, I did not think that that's how the game was going to be played. Like...
00:14:49.98
Tony Sisk
One viewpoint with Ashley craw ashley and then one viewbo ah viewpoint with Leon. I knew that that's how they had set it up, but I did not realize that it they were setting them up in the exact same location and that you were going to go back and forth between the two. that's kind of that's i don't remember them saying that's exactly how it was going to be.
00:15:10.78
Tony Sisk
i thought it was more like... they were going to be separate areas, but they were basically in the same location and you were getting a viewpoint from each character at different timeline, at different points along the timeline.
00:15:27.00
Tony Sisk
But,
00:15:27.87
Jaime G
here's Here's a perfect example. At one point, you're playing as the female character for a really long stretch. And when you finally progress, it's like all of a sudden, you know, cut scene changes to Leon.
00:15:42.71
Jaime G
And once you're with Leon, you have the flexibility to go and explore the mental institution because, you know, he has the axe and there was like a bunch of drawers or closets that only he could open.
00:15:56.92
Jaime G
Because he had that axe.
00:15:58.94
Tony Sisk
I
00:15:59.16
Jaime G
so So I was... You have the choice. Oh, do I go re-explore everything to go find these closets? But you know now you're going to have like those... What's the name of those overpowered zombies at this point? Pimple heads or something?
00:16:16.21
Tony Sisk
don't remember. But.
00:16:18.01
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:16:19.77
Tony Sisk
Yeah, I mean, Ashley was driving the story forward because like.
00:16:24.15
Jaime G
Yes.
00:16:25.66
Tony Sisk
it was her The narrative around her was what was pushing the story for, and then kind of like Leon was coming in behind her. um There was one scene, though, that was really cool, where he was up on the rooftop, and there's a helicopter scene, and then he's got a sniper rifle, and he has to... Did you make did you make it that far?
00:16:47.74
Jaime G
Nope.
00:16:49.05
Tony Sisk
Okay. So, um yeah, I can't remember off top my head where that falls in in the sequence, but...
00:16:58.02
Tony Sisk
therere there's this there's a scene where he has to provide cover from the rooftop with a sniper rifle. And I don't remember, do you remember in The Last of Us, the first one, did you play the first one?
00:17:13.69
Jaime G
ah There was that that one area where you had to like provide cover for people, right? Because there was like a bunch of...
00:17:18.07
Tony Sisk
Yeah, you had to provide um
00:17:19.70
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:17:21.21
Tony Sisk
um Ellie eie provided cover
00:17:23.42
Jaime G
And you had to do it on... and
00:17:26.42
Tony Sisk
I think Ellie was the one. No.
00:17:29.44
Jaime G
That was Joel.
00:17:30.52
Tony Sisk
Joel was providing cover for the group as they were like trying to get out of town. There's two different scenes.
00:17:37.40
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:17:38.22
Tony Sisk
But it's basically the same thing. like Leon is... providing overwatch to Ashley as she's trying to escape ah this one area and you have to kill all the zombies before they get to her. That was really well done. That was really cool. Especially with the whole, there's a helicopter involved and all this stuff.
00:18:08.44
Tony Sisk
Go ahead.
00:18:09.88
Jaime G
You had a little bit of Freudian slip there. You said Leon is covering for Ashley.
00:18:12.93
Tony Sisk
What's that?
00:18:16.89
Jaime G
And you're technically not wrong because he actually has to do the same exact thing and is in Resident Evil 4.
00:18:23.66
Jaime G
It's Grace.
00:18:28.22
Tony Sisk
Have we been calling her Ashley the whole time?
00:18:30.87
Jaime G
I think we have.
00:18:32.38
Tony Sisk
Okay. Whatever.
00:18:39.51
Tony Sisk
Wait a minute. ah
00:18:42.03
Jaime G
It's Grace. It's Grace Ashcroft.
00:18:49.89
Tony Sisk
Hold on.
00:18:51.42
Jaime G
It's Grace Ashcroft.
00:18:54.31
Tony Sisk
And we've been calling her Ashley.
00:18:56.76
Jaime G
um Ashley, because that was the wasn't that the the character of Resnial for the president's daughter?
00:19:02.84
Tony Sisk
oh yeah i don't remember grace yeah grazed ashcroft yeah whatever i'll have to go double over it
00:19:13.85
Tony Sisk
so anyway um grace uh you have to keep the zombies off of grace so that uh That's a really good scene.
00:19:26.55
Tony Sisk
And then later on, all the action scenes with Leon are really fun. right All the sneaking around and stuff with Grace is terrifying.
00:19:37.31
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:19:38.42
Jaime G
It is.
00:19:39.03
Tony Sisk
ah
00:19:39.34
Jaime G
it's It was too much for me.
00:19:43.67
Tony Sisk
yeah
00:19:43.70
Jaime G
and and but you know But again, it was terrifying tolerable when I knew that I had limited ammo and I could still fight back and and and do something. But it's terrifying, frustrating for me when you're going there's like a big stalker that you can have all the ammo in the world and it's not going to mean a thing.
00:20:07.00
Tony Sisk
Yeah. So. um
00:20:13.05
Tony Sisk
But i will I will say that at the end of the game, I one-shotted the boss with Leon. Because I had all this leftover ammo and all these different weapons.
00:20:25.91
Tony Sisk
And like i had was I was loaded down with ammo. And it was like, okay, i just let me switch weapons. Let me switch weapons. And like you didn't even use grace in that final boss fight.
00:20:39.29
Tony Sisk
Like you would think like if you have a two different perspective characters, like you would switch between the two in a final boss fight back and forth, back and forth as part of that, as a game mechanic.
00:20:47.42
Jaime G
Yes. Yeah. yeah
00:20:52.42
Tony Sisk
No, no, You stay as Leon and kill him. Because Leon is so overpowered in the in the game. like It's the only Resident Evil game where I've ever one-shotted the final boss.
00:21:08.76
Tony Sisk
like ah I didn't look up how to fight the final boss, how to you know what I need to do, or whatever. No, I just stood in there and stood toe-to-toe with him and just... Maybe there was a thing, but maybe I got lucky. I don't know. But it seemed like, man Leon is so overpowered.
00:21:28.64
Jaime G
Yeah, that's part of the Leon allure.
00:21:34.04
Tony Sisk
Yeah, but yeah, I mean, i i I enjoyed the game. I mean, there's some different boss fights in there before that. Again, nothing nothing was very
00:21:45.14
Jaime G
So.
00:21:47.99
Tony Sisk
Difficult like and like the clues And stuff are pretty straightforward I thought the The puzzles were not that Puzzly like nothing was
00:21:56.44
Jaime G
Well, I mean, up until the point that I got in the game, the puzzles weren't really challenging. It was more like tedious that the puzzles forced you to go and do something and bring an item so you could solve it. Like it was like, like like i already know it's like a star shape that I need to put up here. No, you have to go find something that has a star shape to put it. it's It was just like, really...
00:22:27.67
Tony Sisk
Yeah, that um I mean, I feel like the game was very dumbed down as a Resident Evil game. Like, what?
00:22:37.37
Jaime G
you know what You know why? Because newer newer gamers cannot tolerate longer, more difficult games. that's That's a trend that's happening all around.
00:22:49.62
Jaime G
Remember that what was that one developer last year that came out and said, like yeah, gamers want shorter games. And then, I mean, if you put people to play the games that we grew up playing, the original Mega Man, the original Mario Brothers,
00:23:07.67
Jaime G
The gamers of today's generation don't have the the patience um to be able to sit down and reach a challenge like those back in the day and say, like let me figure out how to do this.
00:23:24.88
Tony Sisk
Yeah. Makes sense. I mean, you can definitely tell.
00:23:28.42
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:23:29.14
Tony Sisk
Like...
00:23:31.96
Tony Sisk
ah Yeah. After playing 7 and 8 before... Like, just weeks before that. And then, you know... The puzzles in there and those games were...
00:23:46.62
Tony Sisk
little bit more thought. You had to put a little bit more thought into it. Especially in the like when you're fighting certain bosses and stuff in there. There was... There was stuff you had to do during the fight. Um, not this, not this time.
00:23:58.17
Jaime G
there was the If you go and look at my Instagram feed, there is a puzzle that i had that a puzzle picture, a clue for something that I put up in there. And I said and i basically just captioned it said, if you know, you know.
00:24:12.50
Jaime G
Because it was one of those puzzles where you have this random looking picture and you have to like figure out what it meant and like how to set up a sequence of colors on a dashboard to be able to drop a bridge to get to the next area. But there was like no clues other than this like one image.
00:24:32.12
Jaime G
And the thing that gave it away is that there was like this one random black block on on that thing that was colored black. in And they was like once you realize, oh, there's this one different, like it all made sense.
00:24:46.39
Jaime G
But those were challenging. And I will even tell you this, Tony. If you go back and play the original Silent Hill, the very original Silent Hill that came out for PlayStation 1, there was this puzzle that was, um I thought at the time was impossible because you had like this piano and it you got like this riddle that said like there's 13 birds in the air, the the bird this, the bird that. It basically was telling you like which keys to press to try to like play a melody.
00:25:21.08
Jaime G
And this is before I had internet. I had no game facts. I could not figure out this for, for the life of me.
00:25:29.30
Tony Sisk
right that that was like uh was it it was in village where they had a piano puzzle piano uh we had to play a um ah a song on the piano to open up a a compartment to find another key or something like that i think the most puzzly thing in this one was like you're having to get
00:25:39.95
Jaime G
Yeah. Yeah.
00:25:55.68
Tony Sisk
like, uh, these lock boxes open by getting the, the, uh, the combinations and the combinations were like, you know, bit written on pictures of like, uh, the scientists that had worked at this place or whatever.
00:26:12.13
Tony Sisk
And you're just looking,
00:26:12.58
Jaime G
that's that's That's my point that I was saying earlier. like the the The way how you solved puzzles in this game was like, go find something and then come back.
00:26:22.81
Tony Sisk
Yeah, it's like very basic. It's like there's no, like anybody who had done any type of puzzle solving in any game ever is going to recognize what they need to do without any instruction.
00:26:24.99
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:26:33.59
Tony Sisk
like Like, oh, oh i bet I know this is an answer to a puzzle. ill just ah I'll write this down and I'll use it later. And that almost always works, right?
00:26:40.86
Jaime G
Well,
00:26:42.48
Tony Sisk
It's like, oh.
00:26:43.13
Jaime G
Well, speaking of puzzles, man, I'm going to go and and deviate a little bit.
00:26:43.93
Tony Sisk
ah
00:26:48.64
Jaime G
My son, I've created a little monster. i gave him Zelda Breath the Wild. The first couple times he played it, he was like, eh, it's OK, Dad. Now he's become like this Breath of the Wild expert and like he's playing it right now.
00:27:03.86
Jaime G
he'll He'll wake up in the morning be like, dad, before I go to school, can I play Breath of the Wild? I'm like, no. But anyway, he was having a challenge with a puzzle this weekend and he's like, dad, can you help me I was like, sure, man, I'm a pro. I'll help you out.
00:27:19.51
Jaime G
I couldn't figure it out, Tony.
00:27:21.56
Tony Sisk
yeah Oh,
00:27:21.99
Jaime G
And I just couldn't. It it it was like the the only clue you had was look up to the to the stars. The constellation will we'll give you the clue.
00:27:39.54
Jaime G
And then so you look up, and there's this wall with like some constellations. and So I had to Google this. You basically had to count how many times each constellation appeared and then like turn on some pedestals with some magic.
00:27:56.25
Jaime G
saying how many times the the constellation appeared.
00:28:00.12
Tony Sisk
Yeah, hold one second.
00:28:03.67
Jaime G
So that one was definitely a hard one. And I recommend Zelda Breath of the Wild. Now, after trying it out, it is harder. So I mean, there's
00:28:14.49
Tony Sisk
I told Amy she could come in into office at 7.45, so had to open the door for her.
00:28:18.40
Jaime G
uh-oh.
00:28:20.70
Tony Sisk
um But anyway, well, I mean, I still like the game.
00:28:26.46
Tony Sisk
It was a fun game. Not in this. I mean, look i think it was 24 hours what took me to finish the game.
00:28:31.93
Jaime G
But here's the...
00:28:34.58
Tony Sisk
So, you know, I like that.
00:28:36.32
Jaime G
See, the thing with Resident Evil type games is that after you clear it the one time and you know the story, like, it's...
00:28:37.30
Tony Sisk
Go ahead.
00:28:45.74
Jaime G
it's Unless you're like a completionist, let me go and get platinum in. they They don't offer much more in the terms of like coming back and playing it again. There's no branching paths. There's no alternate storylines.
00:28:59.54
Jaime G
I mean, I guess only one that
00:28:59.70
Tony Sisk
But that's interesting that, I mean, it's interesting because like their DLC, we'll call it, is based on you playing it multiple times.
00:29:11.06
Tony Sisk
Right? Like you have to play it, like complete it on normal mode, then hard mode or whatever.
00:29:12.42
Jaime G
huh
00:29:17.40
Tony Sisk
in it And every time you complete it, unlocks some different aspect of DLC. Right?
00:29:22.23
Jaime G
Yeah, the mercenaries kind of stuff.
00:29:25.24
Tony Sisk
Right, yeah, I'm like, I mean, ah who wants to play the same thing over and over again? i I mean, there are completionists that do that, but they're trying to get, like, the platinum and stuff like that. But, I mean, yeah maybe I'll play the game again.
00:29:41.75
Tony Sisk
ah still have it loaded on my PlayStation.
00:29:46.14
Tony Sisk
But, I mean, I don't know.
00:29:46.33
Jaime G
You hadn't removed the disk?
00:29:48.37
Tony Sisk
Huh?
00:29:49.62
Jaime G
You hadn't removed the disk?
00:29:51.16
Tony Sisk
No, it's still in my PlayStation.
00:29:53.30
Jaime G
OK.
00:29:54.07
Tony Sisk
um the games I've played since then have been digital. Like, I played Space Marine 2, which was one of the PlayStation 5 extra
00:30:10.43
Jaime G
Right.
00:30:10.90
Tony Sisk
games.
00:30:10.94
Jaime G
and It was one of the free games. Yep.
00:30:12.22
Tony Sisk
Yeah. So I played that right after. I completed that game right after Resident Evil 9. So, but...
00:30:23.86
Tony Sisk
i mean i I mean, I enjoyed 9.
00:30:27.93
Tony Sisk
I think it's a good...
00:30:29.16
Jaime G
Hey.
00:30:29.69
Tony Sisk
It's kind of like a... Almost like a starting over for, like you said, like new newer gamers. like ah It's a jumping in point for players.
00:30:36.89
Jaime G
Yeah, it is.
00:30:37.30
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:30:38.33
Jaime G
It is. I happen to think that the game was mechanically, graphically amazing.
00:30:47.35
Jaime G
stopped playing it for the sheer fact that i it created a lot of stress. But that that's a if you really hear what I'm saying is that the game is effective and it's what it's at what it's trying to do.
00:31:02.01
Jaime G
right um I love the parts where it's action focused. um I think it was a new a new take on the characters that we're seeing.
00:31:15.22
Jaime G
And I think it kind of can springboard to get a new generation of player scene into it again. Right. Much like seven and eight tried to do.
00:31:23.26
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:31:25.64
Tony Sisk
Yeah. I don't know. I think we had talked about doing an episode on like a franchises that have kind of like thrived from the PS4 era to the PS5 era.
00:31:39.03
Tony Sisk
and so and If you look at it, Resident Evil has been like one of the franchises.
00:31:39.71
Jaime G
huh.
00:31:46.31
Tony Sisk
i mean there's not There's not a whole lot of them, actually. One of the franchises that has just... been building like they've spanned this entire two generations within and a lot of them a lot of the games are remasters or uh uh what do you call them uh remakes but they've been successful with that model and um and the one thing with the resident evil thing is like like i think i talked about it before it's like I have no idea what's going on in this series. Like, it's all over the place. But um that's why I think 9 was like, oh, this feels like a a starting point, you know, for and the fans that they have built up, which is really weird considering, like, oh, they put out all these games.
00:32:37.46
Tony Sisk
And now they're like, oh, this is a starting point.
00:32:41.40
Jaime G
Okay, now, do you happen to think that the bad guy, right? Did he just like like look like a bad guy from like a low budget B film?
00:32:54.81
Jaime G
Victor Gideon?
00:32:57.34
Tony Sisk
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
00:32:58.78
Jaime G
I mean, he's got like the the shades, right? Somehow he's got of like the golden teeth. And he happens to have the like this big old trench coat that looks like it's made of ah out of, vibe i don't know, snake skin.
00:33:16.02
Tony Sisk
Yeah. What's funny about.
00:33:17.40
Jaime G
It's like, yeah.
00:33:19.64
Tony Sisk
What's funny about you know this type of bad guy, it's like, okay, he's a scientist, right? He's like in charge of the whatever research program that the villains are working on.
00:33:30.94
Tony Sisk
But he's like, he can not only not only can he like have the mental capacity to come up with whatever thing he comes up with,
00:33:42.46
Tony Sisk
But there's a scene where you're chasing him on motor on a motorcycle. He's on a motorcycle. Leon's on a motorcycle. You're racing through the ruins of Raccoon City, like dodging and all this stuff. He's got packs of wild dogs or wolves, mutant wolves, chasing after you. and like...
00:34:07.76
Tony Sisk
He's throwing bombs at you and you're like dodging all this stuff, trying to shoot him. And he's just, he's riding, you know, right there with you as yeah against Leon. So it's like, man, these, these villains are very well rounded villains. They can do it all.
00:34:25.37
Tony Sisk
Fly the helicopters, motorcycles, shoot all the weapons.
00:34:29.27
Jaime G
they can man They can do it all except dress for success.
00:34:36.63
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:34:38.26
Jaime G
Right?
00:34:38.36
Tony Sisk
Yeah. They got to look the part.
00:34:41.87
Jaime G
Well, yeah.
00:34:42.84
Tony Sisk
ah
00:34:46.13
Jaime G
It's because he looks like a ah a bad guy out of like an Austin Powers movie, man.
00:34:53.08
Tony Sisk
Right. And it's like, oh, I mean, I think early in a game, like Grace is like talking to him and. ask him these questions well like you you can't tell he's like a bad guy like you probably want to try and get out of there i'm with the fbi
00:35:06.90
Jaime G
I know. Yeah.
00:35:12.34
Jaime G
Yeah. Yeah.
00:35:15.06
Tony Sisk
but anyway yeah so it's a good game it's got its faults you know as far as like we were talking about the the uh the puzzles are too easy like too basic um It's too scary for Jaime with the stalking, and with the stalking.
00:35:33.05
Jaime G
Oh, the it is. It is. Yeah.
00:35:38.10
Tony Sisk
But again, it's a, you know, 20, 20 hours ish game, which is kind of where I like my narrative driven games to be, you know. in in that range i don't want to play in a hundred hour narrative game so it's it's like you get that accomplishment too i mean when you you beat the game i'm like okay i beat it i'm good that was good it was fun and then move on to the next one and wait for the next president evil to drop or whatever
00:36:13.30
Tony Sisk
a they do to muddy the waters with the franchise again.
00:36:22.14
Jaime G
Think about the generations, though. Resident Evil 7 came out late in the PlayStation 4's lifecycle. Resident Evil 5 came in early. Wait, I said 5.
00:36:35.12
Jaime G
7, and then 8, and then 9. you're I don't think we're going to see another Resident Evil for the current gen. that's my part That's my prediction. Other than a remake, we're not going to see a brand new Resident Evil entry.
00:36:46.81
Tony Sisk
probably i mean
00:36:51.90
Tony Sisk
right yeah there might be a remake but a new entry yeah not for this generation this generation is coming to an end where it's 26 this came out in 20 playstation 5 came out in 20 six years we're one year away from the typical end of the cycle
00:37:04.21
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:37:11.38
Tony Sisk
um They're already talking about the next consoles Anyway, and now they've they're getting back. I don't know if you've noticed Now that we're coming to the end of the cycle of the life cycle for the of the current consoles Xbox is coming out saying, you know, we we might be going back to Exclusives for our our stuff now PlayStation this week is saying that they may be going back to exclusive only for their solo games, like no more on on PC.
00:37:43.64
Jaime G
Yeah,
00:37:47.38
Jaime G
no more no more on PC, exactly.
00:37:50.68
Tony Sisk
So we're getting... you that These are the signals, right? These are the signals. Okay, both companies are are preparing for the next console. Like,
00:38:03.26
Tony Sisk
Because this this is what you would say if you want to put out a new console, right? Like, it was the only place you can play these games, you're going to be on our console. So...
00:38:13.15
Jaime G
I think that Xbox is dead, man. There's a brand new CEO, Phil Spencer stepped down, he retired. He's retiring like a multimillionaire.
00:38:25.14
Jaime G
I don't think, I think Xbox lost the fan base, the previous generation.
00:38:34.90
Jaime G
Xbox kept on going in paths and directions that didn't make sense for the core gamers. Remember that we are an Xbox campaign where was like a TV, it was the the ROG, it was the console, it was a computer.
00:38:46.07
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:38:53.53
Jaime G
People hated that man internally. Makes no sense.
00:38:57.37
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:38:57.72
Jaime G
now Now they've like they've like been very vocal about like, yes, you're right. This was a bad campaign. We're dropping it. Hey, you're right. a Game Pass was overpriced. they Didn't they like drop the price some?
00:39:12.47
Tony Sisk
Yeah. They dropped the price back to $25,000.
00:39:14.87
Jaime G
Right? after After they raised the price on gamers two times in the year, right? And now they're like, oh, okay, you know, for those who are still loyal to Game Pass, Call of Duty is not going to be on Game Pass. yeah they're They're too scattered, man. The new CEO is going to bring in some fresh energy. I think they've announced that there is a new hardware, a console that they're going to come out with.
00:39:45.21
Jaime G
I think just Microsoft has a lot of money invest on this and they have like a too big to fail mentality where they're like, we we can still you know turn this around. I think that ship has sailed.
00:39:58.36
Tony Sisk
i think even I think both companies are kind of like forgotten like the most important aspect of video games, and that is the games.
00:40:14.01
Tony Sisk
like
00:40:14.33
Jaime G
Yes.
00:40:16.12
Tony Sisk
Provide good quality games it in a timely manner.
00:40:20.40
Jaime G
Yeah. Yes.
00:40:23.29
Tony Sisk
You know, like all this other extra stuff that you know you're marketing around or whatever, it doesn't matter if you put out good games. The problem is Xbox was putting out not good games and Sony has not been putting out enough games.
00:40:33.30
Jaime G
yes
00:40:40.04
Tony Sisk
Like,
00:40:42.20
Tony Sisk
you know, you get one, one quality so Sony title a year. That's not, so basically in seven years, you're, you know, well, you're putting out maybe 10.
00:40:54.44
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:40:55.18
Tony Sisk
I'm like, come on, where, where are the games? Like,
00:41:00.16
Jaime G
Yeah. Well, competition, you know, brings the best results out of both. Sony didn't have a lot of competition, so it didn't need to try.
00:41:15.06
Jaime G
You know what you know what he did it did? just basically said, Xbox, you do your thing. We're just going to watch you crash and burn one time after the next.
00:41:24.82
Tony Sisk
right i mean think I think you've seen a lot of indie titles independent developers and stuff do really well this generation because because the big players have been just fumbling the ball left and right you know so so we'll see I mean we'll see where it goes in the next couple of years but
00:41:30.49
Jaime G
Yes. Yep. Yep.
00:41:35.17
Jaime G
Mm-hmm.
00:41:41.82
Jaime G
Yes, they have. I agree.
00:41:53.05
Tony Sisk
Who knows? Anyway, that's all I got for tonight.
00:41:57.25
Jaime G
Well, I have something, man.
00:41:59.54
Tony Sisk
Oh, yeah. What you got?
00:42:00.23
Jaime G
But I got, you know, it's been a minute since we we all talked. But I have been working on on something that I wanted to share for the the Pay, Play, Prey segment.
00:42:12.56
Tony Sisk
Okay.
00:42:13.88
Jaime G
OK. OK, well, you know the usual intro, right? This is where we talk about the games that you know we're grinding, question the ones that are draining our wallets, and daydream about the games or the gear that we say we'll buy one day.
00:42:28.38
Jaime G
So we have a first a first time ever ah through Triple P. And this is that we're going to get a three and two and all included into one single game, Tony.
00:42:43.73
Jaime G
Do you know which one I'm going to be talking about?
00:42:47.18
Tony Sisk
No. no
00:42:50.14
Jaime G
OK, this is a first time. where I'm going to address a game that costs absolutely nothing to download, but will completely own your time and your credit card.
00:43:03.38
Jaime G
And can you know it meets all the requirements for all the three categories that we're going to talk about. So let's let's go. Let's hit it.
00:43:14.58
Jaime G
And this time, we're going to be talking about a little gem of a game that's called two x KO. I think you might have heard me say that I've been playing it and you maybe you haven't picked it up because it is a fighting games and I know it's not maybe your your main thing, but.
00:43:31.00
Tony Sisk
flat earth right now
00:43:32.44
Jaime G
For. for For this week's segment, right we're going to be doing a combo and joining all the three segments into one. right And like i like I said, this is a brand new 2v2 assist-based fighting game from Riot Games.
00:43:49.12
Jaime G
When I say 2v2, man, that is really interesting because even though I've seen tag fighters before, This one executes and delivers. And do you know that you know the any lore on the 2XKO franchise, Tony?
00:44:04.50
Tony Sisk
Now. No, I played a little bit of it when it first dropped, so but I'm not sure what the lore is.
00:44:10.46
Jaime G
Now, are are you ah you familiar with League of Legends?
00:44:15.19
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:44:16.79
Jaime G
All the characters come out of the League of Legends universe.
00:44:21.11
Tony Sisk
Okay.
00:44:22.47
Jaime G
All right, so think about this. That means that there's potentially over 100 characters that they can bring into this game. And it's really important to remember that this is based on League of Legends, OK?
00:44:36.58
Jaime G
I'll get to that in a second. This game, man, had such a massive development cycle. It was announced, believe it or not, in October of 2019 when this the first announcement for this game came out.
00:44:50.74
Jaime G
Since then, it's had like a lot of visual changes, character, gameplays, open betas, whatever. But it took seven years for it to be developed and released in 2026.
00:45:02.10
Jaime G
And again, when they made the announcement, this game was playable. it had They were showing gameplay and in building up interest. It started as a 1v1 fighter like everyone was expecting.
00:45:12.70
Jaime G
But it's changed, right? But look at the development. Seven years. ah So now this year we finally have it, right? And as I said, it's based on the League of Legends universe and It's if you're a fan of League of Legends and you get to see your favorite characters out there in a fighting game, it's a win.
00:45:34.94
Jaime G
Or so you would think because it's it's a creative outlet for all those characters to gain more recognition, more love and seeing them you know just basically throw down.
00:45:47.77
Jaime G
um in a you know last side side view gameplay versus a top down for top down gameplay like you're seeing in the Alliance. But let's talk about the play side, right? This is a total no brainer. This is a really well developed game. It looks amazing. It plays it amazing. It has awesome net code.
00:46:10.74
Jaime G
And the entry fee is $0, Tony. Zero dollars. i have paid full price like $69 for fighting games that don't look, play, or feel, or entertain as much as these.
00:46:27.10
Jaime G
ah Now, it's completely free to play. You can get it on PC, on consoles. You cannot get it on Steam Decks because Riot uses its own, what is it, interface to play games, and you can't get it on Switch either.
00:46:40.92
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:46:44.34
Jaime G
Now, if you haven't jumped in, you you tried it a little bit. The gameplay is fast.
00:46:48.42
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:46:50.21
Jaime G
It's flashy. What's kind of your your thoughts for your your game time on it?
00:46:55.16
Tony Sisk
No, I mean, I enjoyed it. I mean, I thought it was pretty good. a Feel with the tag team mechanic, like, you know, where you swap the fighters in and out.
00:47:10.01
Tony Sisk
At will. But I mean, it I was impressed with the quality of what the the game, considering that they weren't charging you anything for it.
00:47:22.20
Tony Sisk
like I think it came with like four fighters or six fighters or something like that.
00:47:22.70
Jaime G
Right, right.
00:47:27.58
Jaime G
It released with 12 characters and out of those 12 characters, eight were playable, four were locked behind the grind is what I'm going to call it. OK.
00:47:37.50
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:47:38.36
Jaime G
um One of the things that was a big ah point of conversation for casual and new gamers is that it has a, a, what they're called, you a simplified control scheme where you don't have to do motion inputs to pull off special moves. It's rather like the the left and right triggers, right?
00:47:57.30
Jaime G
But even though it it was made to be an easy entry point for new gamers, because again, they were trying to get a lot of League of Legends players into this as well as finding game players.
00:48:05.22
Tony Sisk
Thank
00:48:09.37
Jaime G
Even though it it's made with that in mind, the the combo depth, the tag mechanics that you said, the chaos of managing two champions or two characters at once is is quiet is is so deep, man. ri Riot recently rolled out a brand new patch, and now they added like a gameplay that really focuses more on having a dual partner and playing two b two And it's really a blast. And like I said before, it costs you nothing to start playing it.
00:48:43.32
Jaime G
But hold on to your fight sticks, okay? Because that that is where we're going to jump into the pay side of this conversation, right? So we're talking about the play, $0 to get into it. Now let's talk about pay, right?
00:49:00.54
Jaime G
Well, yes, this game is free to download, but Riot knows exactly what they're doing. They for years monetized League of Legends on what? Character skins, right?
00:49:11.83
Jaime G
They want their characters looking a certain way, you know, whatever.
00:49:15.19
Tony Sisk
Right. Yeah.
00:49:15.70
Jaime G
and in And in this game, they try to do the same thing. You can step into like their shop, which by the way, the shop is rotating like skins and stuff that see today.
00:49:27.58
Jaime G
You probably won't see for several days because there's a lot and it's constantly, you know, if you see something, you have to get it then, right?
00:49:37.24
Tony Sisk
yeah
00:49:38.87
Jaime G
So you just go into the shop, you're observing stuff, and then you're realizing that if you want to, you know, have a winning pose and look clean while you're doing that, you've got to be ready to pay up.
00:49:54.20
Jaime G
and And dude, I am just going to tell you this, like the microtransactions are sitting right there all over the place in the main menu. When you're playing against other people who have a different skin or a different color pal palette than you, it's always staring at you, right?
00:50:10.94
Jaime G
And it's always telling you, or at least it's telling me, like, hey, it's just a few ride points. Look at that premium battle pass. Look at those skins. You have $60 up front of the game that that you didn't pay. So now you need to buy that digital wardrobe for your characters.
00:50:30.52
Jaime G
And normally, i would tell people, because I'm a cheap gamer, Download it for free, grind the combos, but shield your wallet. This time I'm going to make an exception, partially.
00:50:43.58
Jaime G
okay Because downloading two skins and a stage, there's a there's a a bundle that's two character skins and a stage, can cost you as much as a full price game, $70.
00:51:00.31
Jaime G
So you have to have some love for this and be careful about what you're downloading, okay? There's actually some bundles that are in like the $100 range. Kid you not. And people buy these and I've played against people. I'm like, man, you're really dropping some money.
00:51:14.20
Jaime G
Okay, now there there's people, like I said, who are long team long-term, long-time fans who want to support developments the developers and put out who have put out this game.
00:51:27.06
Jaime G
And i think that it's worthwhile supporting them because it is a a really good game. But I'm not going to say go buy $60 worth of skins. No.
00:51:37.66
Jaime G
i I commend Riot for trying the business model that's not... normal for fighting games, right? Because normally they want to get the game and then also charge you for DLC content here.
00:51:46.01
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:51:51.03
Jaime G
They said, we'll give you the game. The four locked characters that we just talked about, and even the new characters that have been released, you can unlock just by playing because you get player points, skill points that you can spend to get new stages, new characters, et cetera.
00:52:05.34
Jaime G
Just not the skins. Okay. So, you know, they have been challenged. Riot has already laid off their their main studio that was maintaining the this game.
00:52:19.64
Jaime G
They've cut the studio in half because they haven't been able to monetize this like they were expecting. They were going to. they they were going to. So here's my my recommendation. This is, you know, good to game radio. for Recommendation is skip the wildly expensive individual store bundles.
00:52:37.22
Jaime G
OK, and just go straight and get the battle pass. The battle pass is worth ten dollars and it'll last you for five weeks. And that is exactly where the value makes sense.
00:52:51.09
Jaime G
Again, you can jump in for free. Right. Then if If you're just playing, getting player points, you can still get Chroma and certain color patterns for your characters and unlock new characters. There's a lot of value already in there.
00:53:06.65
Jaime G
Okay. But if you drop the 10th box for the premium pass, you get a clean stack of four champion skins and a new stage. And if you're on Arcane, League Legends, or Caitlyn, which is one of the character fans, know,
00:53:22.68
Jaime G
Just getting the putting down $10 gets you a lot of like skins and color palettes that are you know really worthwhile. like I've personally dropped now $20 in the game because I've gotten the two battle passes.
00:53:37.27
Jaime G
And I am having a blast with it. Like you said that you played Resident Evil like around 25 hours. I've played this game now for 30 hours.
00:53:44.92
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:53:45.24
Jaime G
Again, I didn't have to get the battle battle pass, but I did only because I really want to support these guys. And now let's move away from the pay section.
00:53:56.31
Jaime G
Right, let's lock down our wallets against the rotating shop temptation. And let's talk about this. If we really want to support Riot and give them some of our money, let's move over to the pay segment, right? Because now we want to talk about if we really want to pay some dinero for something that we don't want the digital, but we actually want the hardware that we love and we want to commit to this, this is what we're going to talk about.
00:54:25.89
Jaime G
Check this out. Bam.
00:54:28.99
Tony Sisk
Oh, okay.
00:54:30.55
Jaime G
Right.
00:54:30.86
Tony Sisk
It's a, what do you call them? a fight controller pad
00:54:37.62
Jaime G
Yes, it's a leverless fight pad. Now, for all your listeners, I was just putting here on camera so Tony can see this, that I went all in, right?
00:54:48.44
Jaime G
If the ultimate temptation sitting in your cart at this moment could be like it was for me, the officially licensed Razer Kitsune 2XKO edition leverless arcade controller.
00:55:01.59
Jaime G
This thing is beautiful to look at. It is well done. and It's Stunner, right? It drops ah the joystick. It's very precise. Now it's like riding on a keyboard. And it looks clean. You get frame-perfect inputs, so you do not drop those combos in the middle of a match.
00:55:22.68
Jaime G
And it's just a breeze to throw in your backpack because it's even though it's it's properly sized, it's not too oversized. free Now it's hard to travel with. so But this special edition controller has got officially licensed artwork of one of their characters right on the plate.
00:55:44.12
Jaime G
And it has like chroma lighting that you can set up and control when the lights turn on, what colors do are they random, et cetera. And this beauty is retailing ah at around $330.
00:56:01.50
Tony Sisk
Wow, you dropped $330 that?
00:56:01.88
Jaime G
so
00:56:05.00
Jaime G
There's a story behind that. i'm not goingnna um ah i will I will give you the details. But it's definitely a premium of investment to get the leverless fight stick and added to your collection.
00:56:18.23
Jaime G
And again, when you're playing a game where a single frame separates a highlight reel from getting completely body, having hardwood like this makes us makes a real good serious statement.
00:56:29.43
Jaime G
So that is my pick, right? ah This has been 2XKO themed for pay play, pay, pray, right? We learned in this episode that 2XKO is free to play, but it's just the gateway to get us daydreaming about the skins and the high-end tournament hardware.
00:56:49.56
Jaime G
So, you know, if you got your own ideas, suggestions, picks, Hit us up in the comments. Give us and your thoughts in Discord. And we can look at them and we can you know bring your suggestions here into the episode. So we always want to know what you're grinding on, what gear are you're buying, or what are the holy grails that you're hopelessly trying to save up for.
00:57:11.51
Jaime G
So stay safe out there, gamers, and protect your credit cards.
00:57:17.70
Tony Sisk
Good job.
00:57:19.10
Jaime G
So the story on this one, Tony, is that
00:57:19.13
Tony Sisk
Awesome. ne
00:57:23.74
Jaime G
There was a store that had excess inventory and they weren't selling it. So this this bad boy costs $330. I was able to get it for $150.
00:57:37.76
Tony Sisk
Oh, nice.
00:57:38.36
Jaime G
Brand new.
00:57:39.77
Tony Sisk
It looks really nice.
00:57:41.94
Jaime G
Dude, it is awesome. I mean, I'm sorry for the people who are not able to see this. But you know I have the one that was custom made for Get to Game Radio, right? This one, dude, this one feels, just feels amazing. You know how you have like the the space up here on the PlayStation 5 controller where it's it's it can act as a trackpad?
00:58:04.02
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:58:04.54
Jaime G
It has that. Like this reacts to that and you can even press it, like the middle middle press on the controller.
00:58:06.55
Tony Sisk
Nice.
00:58:11.77
Jaime G
the The hardware on this thing is amazing. And It's weird to play levelless at the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, wow.
00:58:21.91
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:58:22.26
Jaime G
And again, 2x KO is pure FGC chaos. It's amazing. i wish more people were playing it because again, it's a game that is not getting the financial recognition it deserves, but it is a really well-controlled put together game and it just keeps on getting better because they're adding new characters. I mean, new skins, although I'm not buying them, but they're, they keep on adding skins every other week for your favorite characters, new, again, new colors and stages. And they have a really well-developed roadmap that hopefully doesn't disappear because of the reception.
00:59:06.14
Jaime G
Um,
00:59:06.39
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:59:08.38
Jaime G
But you know what they had to do to try to get people to buy more skins is the the newer skins that are being released right now are a little bit more on the risky side for their characters because because that's what people were buying for League Legends.
00:59:19.77
Tony Sisk
Okay. All right. Yeah. Yeah. That's what they want. Yeah.
00:59:26.33
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:59:27.68
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:59:28.31
Jaime G
which Which is sad. It's sad. Like the original ones were were fun and creative.
00:59:29.88
Tony Sisk
yeah
00:59:32.67
Jaime G
Now they're just short. Yeah.
00:59:34.71
Tony Sisk
yeah right yeah okay cool yeah i mean it's a good game i definitely uh enjoyed uh the time i played with it uh i just haven't you know played a lot with i'm not a fighting game guy uh though i did enjoy that one and i was really surprised like man this is equality quality game that nobody's talking about because remember when it came out it's like nobody's talking about this game ah and it's quality and i know the i think sgo had a tournament at one point when it first came out with some of its community
01:00:04.54
Jaime G
ah Exactly.
01:00:14.55
Jaime G
but it But it was, you're right, they did have a tournament, you know, like the ones that they host, Shadow Knights. You know, shout out to them for putting these together. However, there was like very little noise. like If you really look around, there's very little noise around this game in general.
01:00:32.25
Jaime G
Just last week, Tony, ah the biggest gaming tournament in the world, Evo, had its Japan ah rendition. And there were players from the US who went and participated, made it to the grand finals for 2XKO.
01:00:48.57
Jaime G
So it is gaining the love in certain pockets of the fighting game community. It just hasn't captured the pockets of the gamers, if you if you know what I'm saying.
01:00:58.07
Tony Sisk
Yeah, right. A lot of games are in that boat. ah
01:01:02.18
Jaime G
Yeah.
01:01:03.04
Tony Sisk
Yeah. All right, cool. Well, it was great to have... ah Yeah, on the episode and hopefully we can get back on a regular more regular schedule. I know you still have a lot of work to do as far as your move to to your selling your home and buying a new home and moving cities and selling the family and settling in with your new job. That's a lot. So but we'll be here.
01:01:31.90
Tony Sisk
so whenever you're at ah you know, you you have some free time or whatever. Just let me know. And we can.
01:01:39.38
Jaime G
So work good good to game is going now closer to Texas.
01:01:45.82
Tony Sisk
Yeah, right. All right.
01:01:48.19
Jaime G
Yeah.
01:01:48.39
Tony Sisk
Cool. Well, thanks everybody for joining us on the episode. And, oh and again, we appreciate, um, all the supporters and listeners and, um and everybody that takes their time of their day to listen to our, uh, to the show and, listen to a couple old dudes talk about, you know, uh, their, the hobby that they love. And, uh, again, so we'll catch you again on the next episode.
01:02:20.66
Tony Sisk
Have a great day.
01:02:22.55
Jaime G
See you, man.
