But I was born in"},{"startTime":485.382,"endTime":490.085,"body":"1989, so I'm an early 90s kid, And"},{"startTime":490.205,"endTime":493.506,"body":"at least in Italy, the only source of"},{"startTime":493.706,"endTime":497.767,"body":"entertainment was anime in the television at"},{"startTime":498.027,"endTime":502.148,"body":"the time. So all us children were obsessed with"},{"startTime":502.328,"endTime":505.749,"body":"Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and all"},{"startTime":505.829,"endTime":509.29,"body":"that kind of stuff. And I really, really, really"},{"startTime":509.75,"endTime":513.21,"body":"liked it. I was in love with Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon, to"},{"startTime":513.25,"endTime":516.811,"body":"this day, is one of my absolute favorite"},{"startTime":516.871,"endTime":521.093,"body":"things. Pokemon was another great addiction"},{"startTime":521.113,"endTime":525.956,"body":"of mine at the time. But somehow,"},{"startTime":526.136,"endTime":529.819,"body":"even if it was okay for us children to enjoy"},{"startTime":529.839,"endTime":533.641,"body":"this Japanese style of animation,"},{"startTime":534.222,"endTime":538.405,"body":"it wasn't really encouraged for us to draw in"},{"startTime":538.505,"endTime":542.227,"body":"that style, because it was so far"},{"startTime":542.367,"endTime":545.61,"body":"from the classical way of drawing, especially for"},{"startTime":545.71,"endTime":550.183,"body":"us in Italy. Growing up in Italy, it's beautiful."},{"startTime":550.443,"endTime":553.945,"body":"It's amazing. You're exposed to so much art, to the best art"},{"startTime":554.405,"endTime":558.107,"body":"that there is in the whole world. But when"},{"startTime":586.201,"endTime":591.044,"body":"people kind of pressured me to go back to the normal"},{"startTime":591.244,"endTime":594.506,"body":"Italian style, I end up"},{"startTime":597.655,"endTime":601.097,"body":"Yeah, that is sad. You're not the first person"},{"startTime":601.117,"endTime":604.56,"body":"to talk about drawing those characters as well, or at least characters from"},{"startTime":604.64,"endTime":608.122,"body":"childhood. We had a chap last year"},{"startTime":608.462,"endTime":611.845,"body":"started off by, he was obsessed with Smurfette and he would just"},{"startTime":611.905,"endTime":615.227,"body":"draw Smurfette. And myself and another guest were talking about drawing"},{"startTime":615.247,"endTime":618.629,"body":"Garfield when we were younger as well and copying those"},{"startTime":618.69,"endTime":621.912,"body":"other styles. And like you say, they're all completely different styles and"},{"startTime":621.952,"endTime":625.494,"body":"I can see how you then, it's not quite so interesting to"},{"startTime":625.534,"endTime":629.599,"body":"look at the classics. So when you stopped"},{"startTime":629.659,"endTime":633.204,"body":"all that, but you were doing sport, what was your plan"},{"startTime":633.564,"endTime":636.888,"body":"educational-wise? Rowling had Harry Potter"},{"startTime":737.084,"endTime":740.468,"body":"shut down six, seven, eight times before she"},{"startTime":740.768,"endTime":744.773,"body":"could actually publish it. If they shut down Harry Potter,"},{"startTime":745.113,"endTime":748.377,"body":"could I, with my ideas, create a book that"},{"startTime":748.417,"endTime":752.373,"body":"will instantly sell? So the"},{"startTime":752.453,"endTime":755.854,"body":"only profitable ways, and I hate now"},{"startTime":755.874,"endTime":759.275,"body":"that I think about it, that when I was a child, I was already"},{"startTime":759.335,"endTime":763.316,"body":"thinking about how to make something profitable. I briefly wanted to study psychology, But"},{"startTime":802.642,"endTime":806.105,"body":"again, you can do it because you"},{"startTime":806.125,"endTime":810.547,"body":"can really make a living out of being a therapist."},{"startTime":811.048,"endTime":814.33,"body":"Right now, mental health, it's a great"},{"startTime":814.39,"endTime":818.172,"body":"topic. There's not much stigma anymore, and"},{"startTime":818.332,"endTime":821.834,"body":"the people who are right now studying psychology, have bright"},{"startTime":821.894,"endTime":825.056,"body":"futures ahead. But in the 90s, there was"},{"startTime":825.156,"endTime":829.298,"body":"no talking about mental health, really. So it"},{"startTime":829.338,"endTime":832.44,"body":"was something like for people who are really, really, really in"},{"startTime":832.5,"endTime":836.422,"body":"a bad mental space. So again, I"},{"startTime":836.522,"endTime":839.944,"body":"couldn't do it. So I stick to my"},{"startTime":840.584,"endTime":843.906,"body":"safe plan, which was going to the university and get"},{"startTime":843.986,"endTime":847.628,"body":"my journalist degree. I did it, passed"},{"startTime":847.748,"endTime":851.323,"body":"with the maximum grade possible just"},{"startTime":851.343,"endTime":854.465,"body":"to make my father happy. So I think that I"},{"startTime":854.505,"endTime":858.227,"body":"enjoyed studying journalism. I really, really,"},{"startTime":858.287,"endTime":862.929,"body":"really enjoyed it. There are much, much harder topics to"},{"startTime":862.969,"endTime":866.331,"body":"study. So journalism was really fun. It was hard,"},{"startTime":866.351,"endTime":869.472,"body":"I will admit. So if anyone is"},{"startTime":869.532,"endTime":872.674,"body":"thinking about taking a journalism degree, don't think it's a"},{"startTime":873.254,"endTime":876.416,"body":"walk in the park. You have to put a lot of effort and"},{"startTime":880.278,"endTime":883.42,"body":"cry over every single one"},{"startTime":883.46,"endTime":888.824,"body":"of your sentences. They have the seed.
