Show Notes

I first came across Steve Phillip and his son’s story on LinkedIn and reading his article he posted shortly after his son’s death was like shooting an arrow into my heart.

For those of you who don’t know my story I am a suicide survivor after attempting when I was thirteen years old following extreme trauma.

I could understand both sides of the story, from seeing no way out of a dark and difficult space and as a parent dealing with the reality of mental health and suicide

For over 20 years, Steve was a successful consultant, trainer and keynote speaker in the world of sales and marketing. On December 4th 2019, he received a call that would change his world completely – his son Jordan had taken his own life.

Steve was faced with two choices; give in to debilitating despair that was beginning to take over or create something to prevent other families from having to experience the trauma of losing a loved one to suicide - fortunately, Steve chose the latter.

With a LinkedIn following of more than 34,000 people, Steve’ articles and posts have engaged a global audience of millions. Early in 2020, Steve established The Jordan Legacy CIC, to provide support to those struggling with their mental health or considering suicide, whilst accepting the position as Head of Mission, at Champion Health UK Ltd, a rapidly growing tech and client services company in the world of workplace employee wellbeing.

Steve’s lived experience of suicide, combined with his reputation as a highly engaging speaker, will help you understand the importance of looking after your own mental wellbeing and in turn, looking out for those you care about.

Some key points from our interview:

·        How he has transformed his life and now raises awareness around mental health and suicide
