Madeleine Black

Today’s episode is with Tiffany Levine, and she’s sort of a relation of mine as she’s my sister-in-law’s, sister-in-law!

She did confess before we started recording that she felt quite nervous as she’s more used to supporting others through baby loss and not sharing her own story, but she also feels it’s important to share her story to serve others on their healing journey too.

She is British and living in Australia. She says she is a proud mummy to angel twins and two young boys, and she works as a Bereavement Outreach Worker.

Her infertility journey began 10 years ago. After several rounds of IVF, finally falling pregnant with their miracle twins. Enduring hospital bedrest and prematurely giving birth, which resulted in their death too. Emotionally struggling with the loss of our hopes and dreams, being shattered and having a life-threatening infection, she says it felt like she experienced the impossible. Her and her husband, Pete, both had to learn to navigate their lives again and overcoming what now and what next.

8 years later, and 2 successful pregnancies, she has found healing through peer supporting others as a volunteer for a local charity and facilitating their support groups. This has been further extended to her dream job, as a Bereavement Outreach Worker, supporting families with the loss of their baby through a charity Program offered here. offering practical and compassionate support

Some key points from our interview:

·        How exhausting both physically and emotionally the IVF process is

·        How devastating it was to leave the hospital with empty arms after losing her twin girls in their premature birth

·        How important it was to open herself up to receive the support offered

·        How important it is to mark their birthdays and celebrate their lives as they will always be part of her family

·        How she believes that the universe is working with her and meets the people she’s meant to exactly at the right time in her life

·        How she’s now passionate about helping others cope with their grief after baby loss
