Birthday  8-27-1989

No tattoos but does have an upper lip scar.

Resides:  Macomb County Jail

Highland. MI

1.        Steven Michael Kelsey Sr and Jenni Spencer’s marriage lasted only 2 years.  

2.       When their two children Steven Jr 2 years old and Jesika just 6 months old, their parents divorced. 

3.       A newspaper article written by Aileen Wingbald in the Livingston Daily gives the best peep into the families lives that I could find. 

4.       According to the article,  Steven Sr raised the two children on his own for the first two years after the divorce. 

5.       After that they did as most divorced families do, they split their time.  

6.       When the two kids were 2 & 7 they welcomed their step brother from their dad.

7.       Mr Kelsey told writer Aileen Wingbald that their little brother looked up to his two siblings. 

8.       Neither of the kids would graduate high school.   I couldn’t find out when Steven dropped out but Jesika dropped out just before her senior year.

9.       Jesika did work for a local window company called Fish Window Cleaning.  

10.     In a newspaper article written by Korie Wilkins, it stated that both her mother and brother worked there too.

11.   Jesika just 17byears old was known as a very outgoing girl.  She was always smiling and was kind to her neighbors. 

12.    Apparently Steven Jr was able to take a test for his ged because he enlisted in the United States army in October 2008??

13.    He was supposed tob train as a multi channel specialist and reported to Boot camp in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. 

A.       Can you test for ged to get into army?

B.      Where did you go for Boot camp?

14.    Although Jesika also didn't finish high school,  she had aspirations to follow in her big brothers footsteps  and wanted to join the army. 

15.   Steven would come back for the holidays in December of 2009.  At this time he is 19 years of age.

16.   I didn't think that to could just leave boot camp.   

17.   The two families would joyfully go through the holiday season. 

18.   For the sake of humanity we will assume they spent time between the two families. 

19.   Just placate me on this one.

20.   New Years Eve rolls around and the family parties with friends.

21.     At the end of the night,  everyone went to bed.   Steven stayed up playing darts and drinking more.

22.   This is when Steven goes to bed…except without the intention of sleeping. 

23.   Due to living in a mobile home, Jesika and Steven shared a bedroom

24.    Seems wrong but we can’t judge. 

25.   Steven wants a going back to the army gift as he is scheduled to leave the next day.  

26.   So he tries to have sex…or lettuce say it like it is..rape her.

27.     She turned his advances down as we would expect her to.

28.   It sounds nuts that Steven would just do that right?  Who just asks his little sister for sex?  Steven,  Steven does.  

29.   Because around the age of 13 Jesika and Steven were caught by their dad engaging in sexual acts.

30.    We don't know how consensual this act was.   It appeared from the article that Steven was mostly blamed.   We truly do not know the extent of consent.

31.   He may have threatened or even groomed her.  Who knows. 

32.   Either way, according to Aileens article, Mr Kelsey sent Steven to a psychiatrist..  

33.   By all means,  Mr Kelsey surely thought that Steven was over the problem and they moved on. 

34.   For a few years Mr Kelsey insisted the kids stay at separate homes to avoid an further problems.  Eventually,  they grew out of that arrangement too.

35.   We are back to New Years eve,  Jessica is 17 now and has refused her brothers sexual advances.  

36.   Steven leaves their room, comes back with a knife and begins to stab Jesika in the neck area.  

37.   As Jesika is literally bleeding out, Steven rapes her.  In her bed, in her bedroom, while she is bleeding and still awake!

38.    Jesika looks up at Steven and says, “Why, Steven,  why.?”

39.    My gd heart.

40.     Steven realized that she is suffering and in pain so he decides to get to her brain the fastest way he knew how.  By stabbing her in the eye.

41.    He told the cops that later on. 

42.   Jesikas last memory would be of her brother raping her.

43.    In the wee hours of new years day 2009, Steven grabs his rucksack and takes off on foot.

44.    Steven is on the run but ultimately,  the family still has no idea what has taken place. 

45.    Steven headed to Heartland first.   He used an ATM machine to grab some cash.   On foot that would take almost 3 hours.   We do know hexwas trying to hitch hike.

46.   He then bought himself some new clothes and checked into a motel room to clean up.

47.   After that,  it was his goal to get to the airport.   His flight left sometime that day.

48.   Steven chucked his rucksack in a trash dumpster behind a Wendy’s restaurant.   

49.   An employee takes out that nights trash…probably doing a few hits while out there.  She finds the rucksack and there’s blood on it!

50.   Blatantly,  she’s a murderino…because she snags the sake and shows her manager.   

51.   They find knives, clothes and genius Steven’s military ID.

52.   They called the police because they were thinking something bad had happened to Steven and that the perp dumped his rucksack.

53.    Police are prompted to go to Steven’s home and do a wellness check on him.

54.    Mom answers door, tells them that Steven is out running errands because he’s leaving for Boot camp that day. 

55.   Either they ok with this answer or they hold it close because they leave the house. 

56.    They couldn’t have told her that they found his rucksack.

57.     Later on, she decided to check on Jesika, because it was rather late in the day.

58.   When she opens the door, she has to see her own daughter,  bloody and partially clothed, passed away on her own bed.

59.   Meanwhile  police are getting calls regarding a suspicious acting guy in Tyrone township asking for rides and just generally being creepy. 

60.    The police take Steven into custody at a party store.

61.   For the police, the easiest murder case was about to unfold for them with very little work.

62.   During the interview,  Steven just told them,  “I got a knife and I killed her.”

63.   He didn't give a motive and while he looked a bit remorseful,  I really don’t think he grasped what happened. 

64.   He simply told the police thar he didn't know why he did it.

65.   Besides the obvious,  Steve was linked to the murder with DNA via his Seaman and the blood on his rucksack. 

66.   Upon confessing he was arrested and taken into custody. 

67.   He was charged with 1st degree homicide and 1st degree premeditated murder.

68.   Steven waived his right to a preliminary trial.   He was probably instructed by his lawyer to do so.

69.   His lawyer put in a not guilty pleasure.  Symantics…this stupid shit drives me crazy.   He did it, give him the time. 

70.   Silently,  Steve stood in the court room during all proceedings. 

71.    When trial began, I think it was one of the fastest. 

72.   Medical examiner testified that Jesika was stabbed multiple times in the neck, throat and eye.

73.    He also confirmed the presence of Seaman and that there had been a sexual assault.

74.   The worst news Mr medical examiner revealed was that jesika was definitely still alive while the sexual assault.  Let’s call it what it is…rape was happening.   

75.   The police officer with the taped confession would also testify to how Steven was after the arrest.

76.    The jury had to watch the video of Steven confessing, going as far as hearing Steven give jesikas last words.

77.   “Why, Steven.  Why?”

78.   Unfortunately  that means the family had to see it too.  Along with crime scene photos.  

79.   I hope he hears those words on repeat.  The loudest possible volume in his head.

80.   Let’s send him a tape…screaming that. 

81.   The ultimate victim in this story is Mom, Jenni Spencer and Dad Steven Senior.

82.   Jenni lost both of her children that day and she still had it together enough to speak that final day in the court room.

83.   She spoke of her daughters beautiful life and the light that was taken from her. 

84.   She also said how sad it was that the son who had made her so proud when he joined the army had thrown his life away.

85.   The article that I mentioned at the beginning in the Livingston County daily press written by Aileen Wingbald gave the best insight to Steven Sr after thoughts on the entire situation.   

86.   He held himself partially responsible which is super sad.

87.    Unfortunately,  Steve was also able to open his trap at the end of the trial.  

88.   He went on about how sorry he was and that he is haunted by what he has done.   Goooood.   I hope Jesika herself is haunting you too.

89.   We are going to leave you with a quote from Aileens article. 

90.   From the back of Sherrif Steven Zdravkovskis vehicle Steven himself said, “I can’t believe I did that.   If there is a stupider person on this planet,  I’d like to meet him.”
