Kenneth Carl Grondin the third

Chadwick Shane Mobley

  1.  Kenneth Carl the third is a graduate from Lakeville High School.

  1.  For approximately 7 months, he had been dating a nice young lady named Andrea Eilber.

  1.  The two of them worked at a local Kroger grocery store.  Kenneth had just graduated high school and I believe that Andrea was in her senior year.  In that fall of 2011 Kenneth Carl was enrolled and taking classes through the Flint campus of the University of Michigan.

  1.  Andrea was Kenneth Carl’s first girlfriend, so the two were pretty inseparable.

  1. Being damn near an adult, the aunt and uncle of Andrea asked her to watch their house while they went on vacation in November of 2011.

  1.  The house was located on Kings MIll Road, just North of Lapeer about 10-15 minutes from where they lived.

  1. Being a teen, damn near an adult she probably jumped at the opportunity to have a place of her own to stay for a bit.

  1.  The house was located in a very remote area where it wasn’t truly an easy home to find, you kind of needed to know where it was to find it, I guess.

  1.   The first couple of nights Andrea, Kenneth Carl and their friend Cody Crumb had a sleepover at the house.

  1.  They were probably having a riot.  I don’t know if they drink but I’m sure they partied in their own way that night.  Be it movies, smoking…just hanging out on their own.  I don’t know what kids do these days, I just know its definitely NOT what I was doing.

  1. The young couple decided on November 13, 2011 that they were going to part ways, go get their own stuff done.

  1.   I know Kenneth Carl had chores to do at his house and I’m not sure if she had to work or what….we just know that they agreed to spend a day or so apart to do their own things.

  1. The two of them planned to spend the next night together alone though, so it was really just a day that they were apart.

  1.  The two were definitely looking forward to a night alone in the house.  You know…hormones and stuff.

  1.  That evening around 6:30, Andrea sent Kenneth Carl a text message asking him to meet her at the house sitting house at 6:30.

  1.   Kenneth Carl realizes that he better put down the video game controller and get the dishes and his chores done or his mom would have his hide.

  1.  He doesn’t actually get out to the house until around 7:30 though.  When he pulls into the driveway, it is not looking like she is there.  The house is dark.

  1.  Kenneth Carl knocks on the door and there is no answer.

  1.   Being the day of texting, Kenneth Carl texted Andrea, “I’m here babe.  Where in the hell are ya?”

  1.   Andrea replied with, “Sorry babe.  I can’t meet ya.  Catch ya tomorrow.” just a few minutes after he sent his text, so ‘she’ immediately replied to him.

  1.  He waited around for his girl.  He sat on the porch and went into his car.

  1.  He would finally get a text from her at 8:15 saying she was canceling plans for the night.

  1.   That was obviously upsetting to Kenneth Carl because they were both looking so forward to the time alone.  He may have felt a bit slighted.

  1.   Kenneth Carl then goes to the Kroger store where they all work and kind of dumped on a coworker, Brittney Stacey,  about Andrea cancelling their date.

  1.   So  she invited Kenneth to bring the movies he rented and go to her house to watch them.

  1.   So they did and they left Kroger around 9:30  and they stopped at a gas station for some munchies.   I don’t know why they didn’t get them at the Kroger…because, teenagers, maybe?

  1.   Meanwhile, Andrea is supposed to be keeping in touch with her father on the daily.  Like she is supposed to call him when she gets out to the house each night, so that he knows that she has arrived safely and he can relax a bit knowing his daughter is at the house.

  1.   Andrea doesn’t call that evening.  Dad, not fucking around one bit, calls a few family members and then the police to report his daughter missing.

  1.   Aunt Carla busts over to the house sitting home, Andrea’s car is not there and the doors are locked.

  1.  She is not there at the same time as Kenneth Carl, as she doesn’t see him.  So she goes over to his house to see if maybe Andrea had gone over there to see him.

  1.   Now, everyone is starting to get worried, she’s not at any of the houses:  her own, her aunts nor her boyfriends.

  1.   Kenneth Carl and Aunt Carla go back to the housesitting home and attempt to get in.  Kenneth Carl admits to her that he had a key but he left it inside on the counter as Andrea was supposed to get there first.

  1.  Steve, Andrea’s dad does get a missing persons report filed, it had been over a day since he had seen his daughter.

  1.  I believe it’s the next day that her Kroger co-workers put together a small search party to kind of drive around town and areas where she might be.

  1.   During this time, Andrea’s cell phone was not pinging anywhere and was shut off.

  1. I read that Kenneth Carl did NOT participate in this search, because he had to work the next day.  I do not know how true this is.

  1.  Cops are starting to do their cop thing.  They see Kenneth Carl wearing a Red University of Alabama shirt and grey sweat pants.

  1.   His cell does ping around his co-workers house at 10:15 that night and it appears they could tell he left there around midnight.   This info could be from both testimony and cell phone pings.

  1.  So, he was there long enough to watch one movie.  Seems appropriate.

  1. Another co-worker of Andrea’s his name is Jeffrey Babcock was kind of aimlessly driving around looking for either Andrea or her car.

  1.   He found her car.

  1.   Andrea’s car was found at                           State Game Park less than 2 miles from the housesitting home.

  1.   One of the car doors was open,  the emergency brake was on which is odd because she did’t use it as it was broken.   Near her car was like ashes from a campfire…

  1.  When the police and Steve show up, Steve is sure to point out the e brake thing.  His daughter definitely did not ever use it.

  1.   This gives the police enough circumstantial evidence that they can now go back to the house and break in with cause, I guess.  I’m not a lawyer.

  1.   They clear the first floor of the home and descend into the basement.

  1.   This is where Andrea is finally found.  In the basement laundry area.

  1.    She was slumped over in a chair, her hand zip tied with an execution style bullet wound to the back of her head.

  1.   Obviously, this was not a pretty scene to walk into.  From what I have read, it is believed that the local police department didn’t do the best job when it comes to containing the scene and evidence.

  1.   In fact, some will down right say they fucked up completely.
  2.   Evidence was collected after people had walked through the scene, etc.

  1.   Basically sounds like maybe inexperienced police work or maybe just surprised and did not follow protocol.  This isn’t exactly something they would run into often.

  1.   Forensic investigation later told us that the shooter was about 2 and a half feet away when he decided to end this young ladies life.

  1.   Kenneth Carl the 3rd is going to be the first person on the suspect list.   He’s the boyfriend.

  1.   The cops bring Kenneth Carl in, now this young man is inexperienced for a 20 year old.  You can tell just by looking at his face.   They had him in the interrogation room for hours.

  1.   Kenneth will end up giving three different versions of what happened that night to police.  I can see why and how that happened also!   You know they drilled shit into him and did everything they could to get him to slip up.

  1.   His first statement was that he went to the house at 7:45 he peeked in and saw her lying on the floor in the basement.  In this story he says he was worried that she had committed suicide and he didn’t want her family to think that so he adjusted the crime scene.

  1.  Meanwhile, Kenneth Carl the 1st is calling his lawyer.  Their lawyer immediately calls the police department to state that Kenneth Carl now has a lawyer and spews forth some lawyer type stuff.

  1. I do believe the police are supposed to, even in a phone call, tell the suspect that a lawyer has been retained for him.  But not this department.  FIrst, they hung up on him.  Then they said that Kenneth Carl was busy and couldn’t talk.

  1.   The lawyer,   _________________________________ is not in town so he literally had to do this part over the phone, the local police department were apparently acting like children though.

  1.  They don’t want Kenneth Cole 3 to know he has been lawyered up, they want him to be nervous and scared and to screw up so they can nail him for this crime.  Who else could it be??

  1.   Sadly, Kenneth Cole keeps talking.  He doesn’t even know there is a lawyer available and he probably wouldn’t know to stop talking even if he did know he had a lawyer.

  1.   I believe cops are now walking on illegal ground because they know he has a lawyer, but don’t place money on this.  It’s me, I don’t know shit.
  2.   Would it even hold up in court this way?? Why would they freaking do this, it makes no sense.

  1.   Police eventually search Kenneth Carl 3’s home, low and behold they find the clothes he was wearing the night that Andrea was murdered.  They throw all the clothing in one evidence bag.

  1.   They also found evidence by her car a cigarette butt, dna and prints.   DNA?  Why did i just write dna…like blood, seamen?  What kind of dna?

  1.   Oh, it’s from the cigarette butt.  They have dna from the cig.

  1.   The coroner had recovered dna from under Andrea’s fingernails.  Good girl, she fought back and ensured that she had his dna!

  1.  The police department have more than just Kenneth Carl on their list of suspects.  More people have been questioned, including the dude who found the car.

  1.   The police department also compared fingerprints and dna to about thirty people, including Kenneth Carl 3rd.  NOT ONE SINGLE match.  Not even to Kenneth Carl.

  1. The coroner discovered that she had been shot with a 38 caliper.  There were zip ties on her hands but they had been removed.

  1.  During investigation, police discovered that Andrea’s card was being used at an ATM machine inside a Speedway in Burton, MI ____________ miles away at 10:23 pm

  1.   Investigators also discovered that Kenneth Carl’s phone pinged at his friends home around the same time period.

  1.  The next morning, it was discovered that Andrea’s card was used to withdrawal money again.

  1. This time, they were able to get video surveillance.  The human was wearing a hoodie and shoes with a heal.  Tall and skinny person.

  1.   Kennth Cole is tall but he’s not skinny, he’s thick.

  1.  A dark 2 toned SUV was seen driving away on surveillance.

  1.   So they have weird coincidences that are happening, but they are still basically zeroing in on Kenneth Carl.

  1.  During one of Kenneth Carls interogations, he supposedly admits to killing her.  But the god damn audio just happened to NOT be recording during that specific time…so they have a handwritten admission.

  1.  While they think it’s possible that more than one person did this, they are sure that Kenneth Carl was also a participant.  So they charge him with 1st degree felony murder and larceny.

  1.  Prosecution claims there was a bloody hair found on Kenneth Carl’s sweats plus droplet’s of his own blood on his shirt.

  1. They say that he had a key and it was just that easy to get into the house.

  1. Defense put up a good fight with the oddities of the case, the atm card being used, the fact that Kenneth Carl actually had an alibi, the suv leaving the atm, her car being parked with the e brake on.

  1.   Defense also attempted to get the jury to see that there were other suspects besides Kenneth Carl that could cause doubt in this case.

  1.  The coworker, Babcock…he suspiciously quit Kroger a few weeks after the murder.  He was a hunter and had guns.

  1.  Then there was Michael Garbae, who had just been un-friended by Andrea on facebook.  Apparently, there was a photo that resembled the human at the atm and he was holding a gun in the photo….just going for doubt here, folks.

  1. Raymond Fuller also moved out of state after questioning and her murder.  He came back for her funeral though and even asked to see her wrists.

  1.  David Fletcher, his own father called in on him because he looked like the human in the atm photo.  It turned out that Fletcher was at the speedway but it was because he had committed a car jacking!

  1. Frederick Aaron Adams, who is Andreas half brother.  Defense brought up his addiction to drugs, his depression.  He told cops that Kenneth Carl owed a small amount of money to a drug dealer.   The drug dealer was never found and sadly, this young man ended up taking his own life, they believe by accidental overdose.

  1.  While defense was trying to use all of these people to create doubt, they had all also been cleared with the dna and the prints.

  1.   The trial took 12 days in the year of 2015 and eventually the jury found Kenneth Carl the Third guilty of 1st degree felony murder.

-cell phone pings   -he had key, knew where it was  -he was there next morning

     -contradictory statements to police

All reasons why the jury found him guilty.  He was sentenced to life without parole.

  1.  In November of 2011 the police recover the gun used to murder Andrea.

  1.  It is recovered in Utah and according to a sworn affidavit the gun was in the possession of Mister Chadwick Shane Mobley.  It was a 38 caliper colt model sa army revolver and forensics proved it was indeed the gun used to end Andrea’s life.

  1.  He had been questioned in Michigan in 2011 then moved out of state.

  1.  Dna technology had changed a lot so they ran Chadwick’s through the ol dna tester and guess who finally matched it.

  1.  The problem is…they can’t find Chadwick Mobley now.   He’s 42 years old and know’s that they are onto him.

  1.   Police used a tip from a facebook group that spotted Chadwick in Montana.

  1.   Unlike a lot of stories, this time police departments worked together to bring this guy in.

-Michigan State Police

  -Lincoln County Sherrif Department

-Lincoln County Law Enforcement…both of those from Utah

  1. They chuck down to Montana and arrest their second suspect in the murder of Andrea 12 years after her passing away.

  1. Chadwick has been charged with 1st degree murder, felony murder and felony firearm.

  1. But wait, it’s not over.   So a private security company went down to bring this d bag home to Michigan, right?   Chadwick fucking escapes from them!  No shit, he escapes.

I wonder if they still have jobs.  LOL.

  1. He was only free for like a day, he escaped on Sunday and they found him on Monday.  Again, community tipped off the cops, said they saw him in Plains.  That is where they re-arrested him.

  1.   We anxiously await his trial.

  1.   As far as Kenneth Carl goes, many people believe he is totally innocent of this crime.  In fact, his grandfather who procured the lawyer for him, has an entire video out explaining their side of the story and why they believe that Kenneth Carl 3rd is innocent.

  1. I’m curious to find out if Chadwick will somehow take all the blame and free Kenneth Carl of this mess.

  1.  Also, in  2018 Kenneth Carls conviction was overturned when state courts ruled there were issues with the verdict form used at trial.
  2. I mean, I feel like they probably appealed a ton before that also.

  1. Kenneth Carl is on house arrest awaiting his court appearance, which they believe is going to be held later this year, 2023.

If you look up Kenneth Carl on youtube, the first video to come up his Grandpa Kenneth Carl with his explanation of their story.  If you want to join in helping, if you think Kenneth Carl the Third is innocent of this crime, you can go to www.justiceforkc.com and help him out.
