Michigan Murders & Music
Our podcast is about murders and mayhem in Michigan. We will go through the cities, lakes, swamps, the 'back 40', and all over the Great Lakes State discussing a plethora of murders. We will include interesting stories that may not lead to murder but are just plain weird. Homicides, domestic abuse awareness cases, stabbings, missing people and cold cases. Our stories will describe as little of the victims side as possible. We believe the families have already been through enough. But we will definitely be mocking the murderer, the bad guy....the one who may or may not deserve it. Consider us your comedic crime duo. It's as though we are sitting in a living room, talking true crime with you.
We have an amazing music scene. Michigan has brought us many greats like Iggy Pop, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Eminem, Alice Cooper and SO many more. Music brought Your Highness and Boot together, Roger that! Boot is a musician and plays bass. We love our local music scene and want to support all of them. So we will end each story with a little local music, leaving you with a happy ending, and on a good note!

George Yzaguirre
- George was born in 1983 and grew up in the Kent County are of Michigan
- He attended Kelloggville high school, however he ended up not graduating
- From what I read, he was in and out of trouble as a teenager
- Unfortunately, that pattern did not change as an adult
- He would be in and out of kent county jail a few times
-drunk driving
-resisting arrest
-drugs
-alcohol related problems
- None of which would give anyone the idea that he could end up homicidal or even violent
- I read that he was sub-contracting work by restoring floors. It seems like he didnt really
keep a steady job except for selling weed.
- According to the news article on wzzm 13s website in February of 2017 George ran a rred liht on 52 ave
- He smashed into a hope network bus
- George’s blood alocohol level at the time was .32% that’s 4 times the legal limit
- He spent a whopping 5 days in jail and only 1.5 years probation
- A slap on the damn wrist is all
- George sold week on and off throughout his life, I believe
- This is how he would end up meeting his future wife
- At the time, she was living with her boyfriend and george would swing by and sell weed to him
- Eventually, jennifer would break up with her boyfriend and george weasled his way into her life
- The two of them would date for 1 mont before moving in together
- The beginning of their relationship was goood except when he drank
- During this time, jennifer had met and become friends with Georges good friend, David
- The two of them had grown up together and george considered david his brother and david’s parents his parents
- Many times with davids help, the two of them would be able to help george not drink it just never seemed to last long
- At one point during the show “evil lives among us” Jennifer stated that he was sober and doing really well
- Except that he worked at a beer factor and the temptation was strong
- One day, he got drunk and crashed a hi lo into a stack of glass beer bottles
- Needless to say he was fired
- After 4 years of dating and George being sober for 2 he and Jennifer decided to get married
- The Night of their wedding, george broke his sobriety and he fell of the wagon in so many ways
- Not only did he drink the night they married but he became physically abusive with jennifer that night
- Soon after they are married she learns just how controlling he is
- He’s a great guy, likes to party and have fun but when he starts drinking, he starts taking his buillshit out on Jennifer
- His partying does not stop and jennifer ends up being with him for quite some time
- David, the high school friend, starts dating someone seriously, her name is Julia and the four of them often hang out together.
- This gave a few more people eyes into their relationship
- Many times during their marriage jennifer stated that he would be gone for hours at a time and never tell her where he was
- One night, he came home with two teardrop tattoos next to his left eye, they were outlines..not filled in for those in the know
- They argued over the tattoos of course because jennifer KNEW. George tried his best to convince her that they meant he ‘lost’ somebody, not that he hurt or killed anyone.
- She finally just let it go and as much as she wanted to leave him, his threats of choking her stopped her from doing so
- Jennifer and george were living in a duplex on Kimball Ave, in Kentwood
- Thier friend Davide, moves in with them to help with bills and to help with George’s drinking
- In october of 2019 jennifer just can stay any longer and bravely leaves george and her dog to go stay with her sister
- Now it’s just George and david living at the duplex
- One night, November 27, 2019 the two of them were hanging out and david said something to george that he wasn’t too fond of. Maybe it was something abut his drinking? I don’t think anyone ever find out what was said
- That same evening, late into the wee hours David and jennifer were video chatting as they did every day. The chat went on until around 4 in the morning.
- While David is chatting away, enjoying his life with his beautiful girlfriend. George is lying in wait with a knife.
- David ends his call with julia and lies down on the couch to go to sleep
- This is when his long time friend of years, George, takes the knife and plunges it over & over again into David.
- In fact, he did that 70 times over something david said to him.
- The next day julia attempts to get ahold of david, as she does everyday
- Her attempts are futile, which worries her. It is completely unlike david to let her calls and texts go unanswered.
- The next day was thanksgiving and still no word from david. Not to julia or his family.
- Julia tried numerous times to call davids roommate & friend, george and gets no answer from him either.
- The family all just starting looking around for David. Even Jennifer, george’s wife, looked when she could
- When george finally answers a call from julia he seems totally unfazed, not even worried about his buddy being gone.
- In fact, he tells her that he is out of town on a bender.
- Also unlikely
- The first welfare check was requested by Julia. They went to the duplex and nothing stood out, so they really couldn't do much of anything.
- George wasn’t home at the time either, just the dog that jennifer sadly had to leave behind.
- They do find davids vehicle not too far away in a church parking lot
- Of course, george has not answered his phone at all after the one call with julia
- Monday, December 2, 2019 david is reported missing by his family
- He had missed his fathers birthday party and still was not answering calls. It wasn’t like him
- December 3, jennifer goes to pick up her dog. She knows that it is there alone because she knows everything that is currently happening.
- Wisely, when asking her sister to go with her, her sister says to call the cops and have them meet us there.
- With george having been violent towards jennifer previously and with the current situation, it was the smartest move ever
- Jennifer unlocks the door and she is kind of looking down and around for her dog but the police see the couch.
- She is immediately escorted outside and told that her home is now a crime scene.
- The police noticed no forced entry, just like they had not on the wellness check.
- However, the living room area was obviously a crime scene. Surprisingly for the amount of stab wouldn’t that were inflicted, it wasn’t as bad as you would picture.
- Dexter wouldn’t need a ton of red yarn for this crime scene.
- Jennifer had been texting and calling george prior to go to his home to let him know that she was going to pick up the dog
- I am not sure if he knew that she was bringing the police with her but he definitely knew what the hell she was going to walk into when she stepped foot into the front door of their marital home.
- That same day, the day my mother brought me into this lovely world, december 3, George walks his tear drop tatted face into Home Depot on 54th & Division Ave and asks the front desk assistance clerk if he can use the phone or if she can call the police because he killed his two friends.
- Sir, I do not make enough money for this bullshit, I work at home de pot.
- She calls 9-1-1- very calmly for him, the police show up and he is uneventfully taken into custody.
- During interrogation/confession george doesn’t unload a ton of detail nor does he show any remorse or emotion.
- Just says that he was mad at something David said, so he waited for him to go to bed, then killed him.
- The crime scene photos back this up, as there was no evidence of a struggle.
- George then moved the body and left the house.
- Goin on his merry grim reaper way, he tells detectives that he went to visit someone else he knew with plans to rob him
- This gentleman was a guy that George used to work with and someone who he used to deal weed to or something. His name is Ed Fuller.
- Ed lived in Kentwood in a mobile home park called pinegate village
- This was just 2 days after stabbing his best friend, he went to rob end but somehow decided to stab and kill him also.
- Thankfully, i didn’t find the number of times that he stabbed Ed, and I’m ok with not knowing.
- The crime scene is eerily familiar to the first one but they didn’t have any connection between the two men & George.
- He leaves and tries to use Ed’s card at numerous stores, which police will eventually see during their investigation.
- Finally, he tells them where he put his long time friends body.
- This freaked me out…the body of poor David was out on Lake Michigan Drive in a small wooded area
- At some point, it was reported that george admitted to the detectives that he would kill again.
- Given the tatto’s on his face, do you think he killed before George and Ed?
- George was charged with -1st degree murder
-felong murder
-armed robbery
- George waived his right to a prelim hearing on wednesday april 15
- Also, i hate all trials that happened during covid times. There were a few actual courtroom things that happened but most of it was via zoom and they all had stupi9d masks on.
- The jud did a very unusual thing and gave the families a microphone at the arraignment.
- Usually they have their statement at the sentencing
- Davids mom who had taken george into her home like a son, was fiery mad. It was horrible to watch
- On wood tv channel 8 video. You can see these statements. It’s both empowering and heartbreaking. Mostly heartbreaking.
- One woman ended with, “Burn in hell, George.”
- The trial was in august 2020 and george pleades gulty
- His still wife, Jennifer did not attend the triral
- Julia, david’s girlfriend did and ended up giving an impact statement. That takes a lot to do.
- Julia and Jennifer remain friend to this day.
- September 3rd george was sentenced with consecutive life sentences handed out by Judge Mark Trusock who said to george _____________________
- Because he pled guilty he was actually charged with 2 counts of 1st degree murder and 1 felony murder
- Jennifer went on to file for divorce from this couche and he still tried to hold power over her by refusing to sign the divorce papers
- All he did was prolong the situation because jennifer was going to win this battle and they were divorced 8 months later.
- May 16, 2021 correctional officers were doing their rounds when they found George in his cell dead from apparent suicide
- That’s too bad
- He had no control over others or his own life any long and couldn't handle it
- The little bitch never showed an iota of remorse at any time. Just sat there with his fake ass tears tattooed on his face like a bitch apologizin.
- George was 37 years old when he took his own life
- After David passed away in such a brutal fashion, that same week or the week after, Julia found out that she was carrying David's baby!
- Now Jennifer & Julia and the baby live on as friends. Girl power.
- I first watched this episode on the show “I'm related to a killer” on amazon prime, it came on directly after an episode about Mark Lutinski. Remember him??? Another Michigan murderer, the kilt man.
- Jesus, Michigan.
- The rest of the information was deemed from numerous news articles, news videos and court documents.
