What if the very thing you’re stressing about…is the exact thing blocking the breakthrough you’ve been praying for? I want you to really think about that.
Because in this episode, I’m talking about something that most of us struggle with—worry, control, and trying to make things happen in our own strength.
And I had this moment recently where I caught myself doing exactly that—trying to figure it out, trying to push things forward, trying to make something happen.
And I heard this simple truth: When you work, God rests. But when you rest… God goes to work.
And everything shifted. Because so many times in life, we’re operating from the wrong position.
We’re striving… instead of trusting. We’re controlling… instead of releasing. We’re praying for something… instead of living from it.
In this episode, I break down:
Why worry isn’t just an emotion—it’s a belief system
How worry “kinks the flow” of what God is trying to do in your life
The difference between a performance mindset and a supply mindset
And how to actually practice casting your cares (and not picking them back up)
Because here’s the truth…
You can be doing all the right things— and still be blocking what God is trying to release.
Not because He’s withholding…But because you’re gripping too tightly. There is a rhythm to grace. There is a flow to trust. And when you learn how to let go…you start to see things open up in ways you couldn’t have forced.
So today, I want to challenge you: What are you trying to control right now?
What are you carrying that was never yours to carry? Because the moment you release it…you make room for God to move.
And what He does with it will always be greater than what you could’ve done on your own 🤍

Feeling stuck despite your success? Are you looking for guidance and inspiration that speaks directly to your quest for a more purpose-driven and faith-built life? Hi, I'm Amy Wienans, wife, mom of twins, and CEO. Welcome to You Are More, your weekly infusion of inspiration, revelation, and encouragement to step into the life you are meant to live. Amidst professional triumphs in the high-stake real estate world, I faced my moment of truth. Success felt empty. That's when I realized success without purpose is like running on a treadmill, exhausting and going nowhere. Determined to find more, I embarked on a journey that revealed the true power of mindset, purpose, and faith. If you're ready to stop chasing success and ready to build a life that wins, it's time to buckle up because we're going to dive deep into purpose, enrich your life with faith, and you're going to walk in a life you're called to walk into. Because always remember this, you are more. He has a book called Let Go. And he's he said, When you work, God rests. And when you rest, God works. And in the midst of that situation, I felt myself like, oh, I'm trying to make things happen. I'm trying to do this, I'm trying to do that. And all of a sudden I had that, take a breath, Amy. Let me go to work on it. You take, like, you've done all you can do. Now stand and just wait and just watch what I can do. And all it was was the flip of a power source. Right? It was the flip of a switch. What's my source? And so I thought I started thinking about so many things in life. And it took me to the parable where Jesus talked about, take no thought for your life, saying, What shall we eat? What shall we drink? Take no thought on those things. And he talked about how the lilies of the field, they clothe themselves. And like he takes care of them, right? That have not near the significance that we have. He takes care of things in nature that have not the near, not any of the significance that we have as human beings on this earth. And take no thought. And I started thinking about all the areas where worry has taken over my life. Maybe I'm alone. Maybe worry is not a problem for you, but areas of worry and concern where we work and we work and we work and we're doing everything in our power to make something happen and we don't see it happen. And it causes stress and it causes worry. And all of a sudden, when I heard that the other day, like when you work, I rest, God rests. And when you rest, God works. I'm like, oh, it's a position thing. It's a changing of the guards. Who's running the show? So so many times in life, we we pray for victory when we should be praying from a position of victory. We pray for healing when we should pray as the healed. We pray for wisdom when we literally release God to be our wisdom. And so having that, like literally positionally changing the power source. So I felt myself when when I heard that in my head, like, okay, when you when you struggle and strain and worry, I rest. When you rest, I go to work. All of a sudden I did this. I went, I can breathe. Okay, God, I'm just gonna let you go and do. And here's the thing, guys. I so believe that that action is a part of faith and that faith without works is dead. And so you have to take the next action step or the next action step. But there is a time that when you have concern and worry over something, it's like the enemy plays on it and it just like literally can take you out. So let's talk about like something that a lot of people deal with. Like care and concern over your children. One night I was having care and concern over my children, right? And I was concerned about it, and I and I was ruminating on this thought. And we had had a situation and it was breaking my heart that they were walking through, that my daughter was walking through this, and I was just, I was concerned, right? I was laying in her bed and I had my hand on her, just rubbing her back, and I had that thought. Rest. I have her. And I thought, okay. Because here's the thing, what was happening is the enemy could bring that around, that situation, and poke me. Call it a trigger, and boom, it would send me out of uh spiraling for the morning or the evening or or it would take me off. Like I wouldn't be in, I wouldn't be a hundred percent working at work and I wouldn't be a hundred percent at home because I'd be thinking about this thing and it'd be disturbing me. Maybe your situation is not children, maybe it's not that, maybe it's a job, but there's something, maybe it's a health concern, maybe it's a financial concern, where literally all it is, it's like a trigger. The enemy just has to say, oh, get you in worry. Oh, yeah, worry. Where you just literally like, like shut the flow off. And so I was thinking about like how the blessings of God, like when Jesus died on the cross, he he bore it all. So he supplied everything for us at that moment, all sufficiency and all things. That's what he supplied for us. Okay. So that's like an oh, so like in my house, we my kids are always playing in the water. They got hoses out. In that mode, like, okay, we got a full hose full of supply. Like that water is just pushing through, pushing through, pushing through. But it doesn't take much to kink it and stop the flow. And that is much like worry. Worry, worry kinks it and it stops the flow. We don't receive the abundance. So we start our day off and we can be like like grace is like that fluid thing, right? There's the the the fluidity of grace over our lives. That's what I'm really talking about. And I want to make sure I get this right because I had it written out. But literally, there is a there's a rhythm to grace, okay? So when the Bible says, take no thought, take no thought for your life, saying, He's not telling us to do nothing, right? He's he's basically telling us that what you're carrying is not yours to carry. Worry is not an emotion, it actually reveals a belief system. And that was kind of like a whoa. Worry identifies where is your belief at? What is it rooted in? Are who are you counting on? What are you it's not aligned with who you are. Because in who you are, your identity is that you're a child of the most high, that that he gives you supernatural downloads of wisdom, that he teaches your hands to prosper and he leads you in the way to go, that your steps are ordered, and that you have all sufficiency in all things, that God supplies all your needs according to his riches and glory. Like all those things, those are truths, right? You have the mind of Christ. Like those are truths, but worry tries to pull you out of position and kink the line, so to speak. So where do I think my supply comes from? Is you have to replace it with the truth. Okay. Worry is effort without increase. And faith is rest that releases supply. I um sat under Pastor Jim for like 25 years. If anyone's from the Cedar Valley, a lot of people know him, but he would always say, Amy, cast your cares, cast your cares. And he would always talk about the law of casting. And I was like, huh. Okay, I would cast my cares, my concerns, oh, my concerns about this and my concerns about this, and you know, my kids and my family and all the things. And then I would cast it. I'm like, okay, God, you got this. And then two seconds later, I would pick it back up. Right. And I was like, okay, God, I don't think you've got it, so I'm gonna go to work on it. I don't know, but I'm sure there's other people listening to it that you've got that same thing, okay? But you're always operating in one of two systems: the law, which means it's like a demand mindset. I have to make this happen. If I work harder, I'll secure my future. Performance equals provision. It's rooted in fear and control. And under grace is a supply mindset. God supplies my needs. Jesus already finished the work. I receive, I don't strive. Rooted in trust and identity. Do you see how life can be a flow? Even though you're like, no, I mean, you don't know what I'm battling. You don't know what I'm battling. But here's the thing: you can pass on hard life, trouble, and always battling to your generations. I'm gonna say that again. Your family's watching you, your kids are watching you, your community's watching you, your team's watching you, your your whatever you have going on. Like you're you're passing on patterns and behaviors and even emotional behaviors, right? Worry. It's a way of life. Oh, our family has anxiety, our family struggles with this, our family has always been hard for us. We've never gotten enough. Like, literally, that's a that is a law mindset. It's dependent on the flesh, it's dependent on you, it's dependent on what you can do. Grace is a mindset of, oh, it's a supply mindset. I've got all sufficiency in all things. God supplies my needs. Jesus already finished that work. The Bible says, your heavenly father knows that you have needed these things. When he's it's the Sermon on the Mount, take no thought saying, What shall we eat? What shall we drink? And then it goes down. Your heavenly father knows that you need them. So you're not really trying to get God to move because he's supplied, it's getting in position to receive. And it don't you think it's funny that the enemy will send worry and fear to stop the flow? Have you ever noticed the things in life that you're not worried or afraid about? Like they flow pretty seamlessly for you. But it's those areas that uh that'll send you tail spitting and fear and anxiety that you're like, oh, it you grip it tight because it's always been a thing. The enemy's wanting to keep you in that mindset. But if you could shift the power source to you're not praying for victory, you're praying from a place of victory, you're praying from I already have it kind of a position, and you're releasing God in you. Like maybe it's, hey, maybe you wake up and you're like, man, I gotta talk to my kids today. It's gonna be rough. They're we're dealing with some things. You could wake up that way. That's kind of law and demand related, or you can wake up under grace. You know what? I find favor with my kids. Thank you, God, that as I open my mouth, that you actually give me a download that I can speak to their heart and that you'll bring resolve. Like, do you understand how this the it's one is such a struggle and strain because it's on us? And the other is a flow of, oh, God, you've got me. God, you've got me. So I'm asking you today to literally take a look around and acknowledge things. Like when you think about the Sermon on the Mount, literally He is showing you, okay, the birds they were provided for, the flowers they were clothed in beauty, they weren't striving, they weren't grinding. And then he says, Are you not much more valuable than they? If God takes care of creation effortlessly, how much more intentional is he about you? Get that deep down in your soul. You know, one morning I was walking and I'd been hearing this for several weeks, and I thought, God, this is so interesting. I would always hear this in my head, this scripture. He sings over you with love. And then I would hear the next thing. He perfects that which concerns you. And every time that I would start to worry and fret about certain situations that were out of my control, that would kind of come up. He sings over you with love and he perfects that which concerns you. And so until we see heaven, it will be our greatest thing is to literally trust in the provision and the faithfulness and the the goodness of God. That's always going to be the thing, right? Your faith is the most critical, most priceless possession you have on this earth. It's how the the kingdom of heaven does business and brings the kingdom of heaven literally on this earth, all sufficiency, all things, right? So worry is the kingpin. It it's the it's the stop gap, it's the twist in the hose, it stops supply. Okay? It keeps you, it keeps you, it's it's our way of being in control, self-reliant, and it's all fear-based. Supply-based is God supplies all my needs, it's uh relationship-based. So the biggest thing in life is always gonna be who do I trust? What voice do I listen to? When you understand it's the enemy's desire to keep like pulling your trigger or pressing your trigger button, so to speak, in search of situations where you really need supply, but you get emotionally involved and you, you know, you grip it. My challenge to you and my encouragement to you is to let go. And Joseph Prince's book is a really good book. It's called Let Go, but let live the let go life. Like I let go, God. Okay, I cast my care upon you. I release you into this situation. You're my divine supply, you're this. When you stop, it doesn't mean that you're not still doing the work. It doesn't mean that you've you're shirking responsibility. It just means that when you've done all, stand. When you've done all that you can do, stand and let God go to work. Let Him take it over. Right. So that is like, I hope that this is not muddy and I hope this provides some clarity, but it's literally a shift in the power source. And there's something that happens when you go, I don't have to struggle, I don't have to strain, I keep doing the next right thing. You keep leading me, taking the next right step. But God, literally, this is your battle. Take it on. Your word says you supply all my needs. You know what my needs are, whether they be financial or health or relational, you know what they are. So thank you, God, that you supply my needs. Thank you, God, that you're perfecting that, which concerns me. Do you see how that's like a different position than struggling, straining, trying to work that relationship out, trying to control that situation? Let go. Let go. Because here's what I found when I let go and I take my hands off of it. I'm always amazed that God does exceedingly and abundantly above all I could ask or think. When I tried to control a relationship or control a person or control a situation or struggle and strive and strain, like I would just end frustrated, upset, disappointed, disillusioned. But when I just let go, the funny thing is, relationships seem to come in line then, things start to open up, doors start to open because you're trusting. God, you've got me. Get this deep in you. When you work, God rests. When you rest, God goes to work. So whatever situation that you have going on in your life right now, maybe you're struggling and you're stressing and you're straining and you're trying to wrap your mind around how's this ever gonna work? How's this relationship ever gonna be resolved or corrected or healed? How's this health challenge ever gonna go? Like, how's this gonna correct? You perfect that which concerns me. I'm just gonna rest. I'm gonna keep casting my cares. And every time they come up, I'm just gonna verbally keep casting them and saying it to you over and over and over. Guys, here's the thing: this is a life journey. It's a life journey of learning how to cast your cares, that you'll start to see more of the flow of God. There's so much provision that comes to us in our life when we can just rest and trust in it. The enemy loves to get us bound up on the inside, tight, worried, stressed out, because he knows that he can basically block the flow that way. But we rest and we affirm that we're trusting God. I trust you. Thank you, God, you're moving on my behalf. You have good things for me. I don't see you working, but I know that you're working behind the scenes for me. When you can affirm those kinds of things and get them deep in your spirit, you'll be supply, you'll be surprised at the supply that starts to open up in your world. I've seen it so many times. You know, the only time that that, you know, the Bible's always saying, fear not, fear not, fear not, fear not. But there is one thing he does say. Labor to enter the rest, lest you miss out on the promises of God. Labor to enter the rest. Like so that means it has to be intentional. I'm switching my supply source. So many times I'm like in a situation, and all of a sudden I see a visual of a light switch, and I'll like click it up, or I'll click it down, like, hey, I'm connected to the wrong source. I gotta adjust. Christ in me, the hope of glory. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Guys, it matters the power source you're connected to. So we can stay under the law of demand, demand, demand, and we have to do and do and do and do, or we can operate under grace where it is that that flow, right? That great rhythm of grace. So I challenge you this week, whatever it is that's outside that's that's that's consuming your emotions and taking your taking your eye off the ball and and distracting you and got you, you know, wringing your fingers and you know, your nervous system and your adrenals running and tapped out. Practice this. I cast all my cares upon you, for you care for me. Oh, thank you, God. You sing over me with love and you're working this out. You might have to do that 50 times a day. You might have to do it a hundred, but eventually it starts to you get it down deep, locked in you, and you start to see, oh God, when I let you just have this, how much easier supply came. When I quit resisting it and I let it go, answers came, opportunities came, breakthrough came. Know this, God has a great life for you, he has a great plan for you. And he created you to live on this earth and manifest the kingdom of God on this earth. He created you for more. So let him just rest in the fact that he loves you, you're approved of him, he's got good things for you, and rest in that. When you rest in that, like that feels good. Breathe deep, but rest, rest in that. So if you're listening to this day, I dare you, take a big breath right now. Think about that thing that's that's got you in knots and go, God, you've got this. I hope this has been helpful to you today. If it has, please share it with a friend, like it. I love a five-star review, and I so appreciate you just listening to this podcast every week because it matters. So be blessed and know this. You truly are more.
