What happens when God calls you to leave a comfortable life before showing you exactly where He is leading?

In this episode of You Are More, I sit down with David Knapp, creator and host of On the Pen, for an honest conversation about fear, faith, purpose, and trusting God with an uncertain outcome.

David’s journey began after he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and started taking Mounjaro. Wanting to understand the medication, he immersed himself in scientific literature, FDA documents, and emerging research about GLP-1 medications.

When he realized few people were translating that complicated information into language patients could understand, he began sharing what he was learning.

At the time, David was selling traffic signals and creating videos wherever he could—including inside his Ford Flex. Today, On the Pen is a top-rated podcast, and David has become one of the country’s leading independent voices and patient advocates in the GLP-1 space.

But this conversation is about so much more than David’s professional success.

We talk about the limiting belief that nearly kept him in a comfortable career, the moment he knew it was time to take a leap of faith, and how God used every part of his previous season to prepare him for what came next.

David also shares what happened when he unexpectedly needed approximately $40,000 to close on a new studio—just as his largest podcast sponsor backed out. His wife and four children gathered around him to pray, and within 24 hours, every dollar they needed had been provided.

This is a powerful reminder that experiencing fear does not mean we lack faith. Fear is an emotion, but cowardice is allowing fear to keep us from doing what God has asked us to do.

Your fear may come with you, but it does not get to lead you.

If you feel God calling you out of your comfort zone, this conversation will encourage you to remember His past faithfulness, pray bigger, take the next step, and trust Him with the outcome.

In this episode, we discuss:

• David’s journey from Type 2 diabetes to GLP-1 advocacy
• How On the Pen became a trusted podcast and platform
• Leaving a comfortable career to follow God’s calling
• The difference between fear and cowardice
• Why resistance is not always a sign to stop
• Trusting God through financial and business uncertainty
• The family prayer that preceded a $40,000 breakthrough
• Teaching the next generation to pray big
• Remembering God’s faithfulness when facing a new giant
• Believing that God is truly who He says He is
• Using influence and opportunity for Kingdom impact
