She is your online business manager and a mentor for soulful entrepreneurs, and this is where she blends ancient wisdom with practical tools to help you feel rooted in your purpose and still get things done.
Speaker 1:So if you've ever wondered how you can bring more meaning into your marketing or how to align your strategy with soul, then I invite you to stay with us and listen in. So let's get started. Mary, I'd love to ask you just a fun, kind of playful question, just to break the ice and let's get to know each other. But what's lighting you up creatively or spiritually at the moment, inside or outside of work? What's bringing you a sense of joy and peace?
Speaker 2:Well, for the last year I've started ballet classes and I'm in my 40s. Well, for the last year I've started ballet classes and I'm in my 40s. I've never had dance classes when I was a kid but I needed to rehabilitate my ankle because I sprained it and I started ballet and I love it. I'm not the most flexible, but I love the sense of music, the choreography. It's quite demanding physically and it completely takes me away from work or anything else from my regular life. You know, when I go it's just immersive and then I feel awesome. So that's my creative outlet nowadays oh, that that is just.
Speaker 1:I can just picture it. It's so interesting that you shared that, because I actually walked past a dance studio the other day and I thought to myself, wow, I wonder if you could start this much later in life, if you have no form or none of that, all that training and everything that goes with it. But I kind of think of this being so elegant and it's got to be so good for your body.
Speaker 2:Oh yes, I sweat. I sweat a lot when I do those classes.
Speaker 1:Oh, that's fantastic. Well, congratulations for finding your, your space. That so I would love to, as we dig in now, and you know this coming up of blending ancient wisdom. So when we look at the heart of a soulful business, which is where I'm thinking you'd like to take your clients, what drew you to sort of blend this ancient wisdom in modern business world?
Speaker 2:Well, when I was a teenager, I discovered yoga and I loved it and for 10, 15 years that was my main focus just the asanas and the philosophy and everything about it. So it drew me to eating more healthily, finding balance in my life. Speaking in a non-harming way, non-violent way, it really instilled all kinds of values around my lifestyle and the way I was living. And when I started being well in the online space, I only wanted to work with life coaches or yoga teachers or holistic healers. For me, it made no sense to support a random corporation or someone who's just out there to make money. I absolutely needed to find clients that had meaning, purpose and that were bettering the world, literally, and my strength and skills. At first I was applying them in their systems and their strategies and the marketing, but because I was completely understanding their world and I wasn't rolling my eyes at them when they were saying, oh, the angels gave me new directives, so we're changing plans, I was totally on board with that. So it was just a great synergy for us to work together.
Speaker 2:And now, well, I like to bring my own knowledge to my clients um, mostly astrology, human design and gene keys and often it's new for them because they'll be more kind of a well life coaches or healers or other people in those areas of personal development or spirituality, but not as much in the astrology part, um. So they're always open to it because, well, they already function in a different paradigm. You know, most of their modalities haven't been data tested or they don't have a lot of scientific studies to support them, but they've witnessed it in their own lives and with their clients, how they work in the real world. So, so that's what their business is about. So when I bring that aspect, they're most often very open and curious to learn more about them.
Speaker 1:I love that because you put a note in when you and I were corresponding about how you had. You know, I work with positive intelligence methods and you'd said something along the lines of finding your whole astrology chart and all sort of giving…. I'd love for you to tell me a little more about that, what you said for yourself, that you sort of placed yourself on your astrology chart with all dimensions.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't remember quite what was the trigger for me to make that comment, but, um, I've been listening to self-help from gabrie gabby bernstein um her book and she talks about the internal family system and how we have different parts of us that's right.
Speaker 1:Yes, it was the internal family system.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes that and it sparked an idea in my own mind and lately, like I had a conflict, and it helped me navigate it. Um, I see the planets in my chart, like the moon and mars and all the planets as little parts of myself, so they're not necessarily protectors or managers, but they're part, kind of part of a classroom of kids and they have different personalities. Love that.
Speaker 1:Wow, that's so interesting yeah, I guess that's.
Speaker 2:That was a creative way for me to make sense of a situation that was a bit stressful. But my moon was all in a huffy. She was very emotional about the the situation and Mars warrior was trying to protect her and, you know, make sure everything was safe. And it just helped me make sense of how overwhelmed I felt. I guess I was able to take some distance, be the sage in a way and be like, okay, well, they'll sort that out between themselves, I'll let them play it out and I don't need to overthink it. I don't need to fix anything. I know my internal I mean your classroom will settle at some point.
Speaker 1:I love that because you know I hear you when you learn something or you discover something, and sometimes it just doesn't gel. You just you get it. You get that. You know you need to know it. But you need to come at it from a different angle to be able to correlate the internal family systems and then with astrology and exploring stuff. I think that's wonderful. So thank you for sharing that. That's wonderful. Now I know you were talking about working with people that understand. You're understanding each other and you're in that same space, so connecting and understanding is easier. But if we talk about intuition and so many of us do we doubt. We doubt our intuition, we doubt our gut. How do you guide your clients to go? Hmm, let's just slow down here. I want to let you meet and invite your intuition in and help you take practical action that's aligned to what your guts is trying to tell you well, I find it's a bit like I don't know the english word actually for that word, but say it french, say it in French.
Speaker 1:Say it in French, nobody will understand.
Speaker 2:Apprivoiser. So when there's a wild animal and you want to get close to it, like they have to learn to know you a little bit. It's a concept explored in Le Petit Prince, the Little Prince from Saint-Exupéry. So intuition is the same. It's a bit like a wild animal and you need to test it with little tasks at first. Don't try to change your business strategy based on intuition if you're not even sure how it sounds. Let's try. Just what are you going to eat at the next meal, you know? Or who do you feel like interviewing for the next role? Or oh, you have an idea for social media. Just try it and see how it goes, and then we'll learn to discern. That intuitive voice is different than the mental doubts that we can have. And as it grows, then we build trust and it's it's easier to be daring when intuition is a bit scary or just such out there that we're thinking, well, that can't be a good idea. But actually now we know who it is.
Speaker 1:Right and, as you shared that, I thought the opposite side of that is that sometimes we think we have to be so tuned into our intuition and that our gut is completely right and therefore it's a bad service to ourselves that we're not listening and that our gut is completely right and therefore we are just. It's a bad service to ourselves that we're not listening. But I love the way you said explore, because it gives you a chance to test the waters and go. Is this negative, spiralling? Are these thoughts that are overwhelming? Are these thoughts that are telling me I should be feeling like this about something? So I love that, that experimenting of let's test the waters so that you can recognize. Is this my intuition guiding me and does it feel right?
Speaker 2:Yes, because excitement and fear feel almost the same in our body. You know, there's a saying that says excitement is like fear. No, fear is like excitement, but without the breath. So if you're holding your breath, inside there is adrenaline. It's new, maybe it's dangerous, maybe it's not dangerous, but how? Do we know it's confusing and that's why the mind sometimes says, well, it's dangerous, let's just back away. But maybe, no, maybe it's just a fun roller coaster.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and you could test the waters. So, coming to the thought of being burnt out, which I'm sure you come across with your clients yoga teachers and it absolutely happens. We know the tools as we know them, but often we don't use them. So how do you help your clients basically shift from this um burnout to finding a sense of flow and sort of reframe themselves and open themselves up to opportunity? I don't know that's too big a question, but burnout is is, yeah, very much so, and it is a shift that one needs um to make and we can make it and we can, and those, those states, are so far away from each other.
Speaker 2:You know, burnout and then freedom or flow or empowerment are so different that we cannot jump from one to the other directly. We need to make our way gradually. So maybe at first we just rest, you know, just build energy again, and then just do small things we enjoy and then lean into them more until finally we can laugh and we can, you know, truly find the meaning and make more empowered decisions. But stressing about the burnout is not going to help so much, right? So we really have to be gentle with ourselves and listen to our needs.
Speaker 1:But I think, as you said, stressing about the burnout, we do need to stop to acknowledge and recognize and allow those feelings as opposed to go. I'm not burnt out, I must just do more. I'm not doing enough, I'm something, and not acknowledging that, hold on, as you said. It's so interesting because my podcast episode just before this is on procrastination and giving yourself permission to procrastinate, because sometimes in that pause you'll go ah, my body wants rest, I cannot beat myself up, and maybe a spark of creativity comes in. And so you know, we have this horrible sort of like. You know you've got to be driven, you shouldn't procrastinate, your list should be long, get them done and beat yourself up. So, whereas you know and I'm not saying you can't you must do some of the things you have to do. But if you can weave into that permission to be, to be you, to let it be, to have ease and flow, yeah, I think it's so, so important that I have one other little area that I'd love to touch on and that's marketing and visibility with soul, because you know I can marketing.
Speaker 1:I've been in marketing for years but I love soul aligned marketing. I cannot stand pushy, pushy stuff and you know, push, push, push all the time. But so I know that many a time you know women that are sort of hot, led in their business, find marketing very icky, very I don't want to do this. So then they don't do it. So how have you, you know, what shifts have you seen to help people feel empowered to show up genuinely in their marketing? How do you sort of help your clients?
Speaker 2:I find the most powerful mindset shift is stopping to think of yourself as selling and trying to get anything from others and just showing up to serve. You have something amazing to share and you're not trying to trick anyone into it, you know. You just truly believe in it. So share that passion, share that enthusiasm, share the prize. You're worth having a great living and being supported by your gifts, and you know it's an energetic exchange. All that is very true and just seek to help. How can you help?
Speaker 2:Most of us have also free content. You know blogging, podcasts, social media. If someone truly cannot afford your services, then they can still stay in touch with you and get some support in that way. But the people that do pay well, they also indirectly support all the free content we're creating. So I find, once we stop thinking of oh, I'm just greedy and I'm trying to get things from others versus my God. I'm just greedy and I'm trying to get things from others versus my God. I'm just doing my best to help. I'm here on earth right now to make a difference and this is how I say I can do it. Just don't hold yourself back. Do it, yeah absolutely.
Speaker 1:I love that advice. Show up as you as well, because that's what's so important is, people need to know I mean, there's synergy between different people and one person would enjoy working with you or they might enjoy working with somebody else and you can let that be. But if you're coming with that attitude of I just have love and I have things to give and I have things that have worked, come and join me. Come join me on the journey. Come join my community, come and be with me. But yeah, I think that's very powerful For someone that's early on in this whole entrepreneurship, solopreneurship journey of being in business. What would be one really small, soulful step that they could take to be more visible when they're totally intimidated by marketing?
Speaker 2:Well, choose one platform that you enjoy, that you have fun on. So if you're terrified of going live, don't do that because you think it's going to. You know, beat the algorithm or whatever. If you prefer writing, go on Threads, go on X. There are so many platforms that are written content-based. You can even post quotes on Instagram, on Facebook. So it has to be fun, because we already need so much self-accountability every day. There's no bus behind our shoulder looking over, like are you doing it? No, maybe I'm not working today and I should be, and I'm procrastinating. Or there's no bus behind our shoulder looking over like are you doing it? No, maybe I'm not working today and I should be, and I'm procrastinating. But if it's fun or at least less intimidating, then I'm more likely to continue it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and you know, as you were sharing that I'm thinking then isn't that the space with the people that are going going to resonate with you, that you're going to meet each other and find each other? Um, so I just yeah, I agree with you is showing up in a place that brings you joy, because you cannot push yourself into a box of going. I have to be in this space because otherwise I'm not doing my marketing correctly. Um, because you won't come across with salt. You won't.
Speaker 2:And as entrepreneurs like, yeah, nobody is forcing us, so we, we need to find it inside us, to find the motivation and, ultimately, the pleasure because, yeah, it's gonna be so much more sustainable and the energy will come through too.
Speaker 1:You know, there's a magnetism to that? Yeah, there is, so, thank you. Thank you so much, marie maria eve, um, for joining me, for sharing with me. I'd just love to let people know where they can find you. Um, and yeah, where's the best place to to find you?
Speaker 2:well, my best. My website has everything they need uh to find me elsewhere on social media and read my blog and find out about my services. So it's delightedspiritcom.
Speaker 1:Perfect but I'll make sure that those are in the show notes so that people can and listeners do, just reach out, because you just never know when you connect. I'll put your your social media platforms in the post as well and, yeah, just reach out and start the conversation. So, once again, thank you so much for being my first guest for season six.
Speaker 2:It's been an honor and a delight.
Speaker 1:Thank you.
