Beyond Your Safety Ceiling: The Path to Authentic Power with Cheryl Stelte
Ever feel like something invisible is holding you back in business, despite your best efforts? You're not alone. In this enlightening conversation with spiritual coach and master healer Cheryl Stelte, we uncover how subconscious blocks silently limit our growth and potential.
Cheryl reveals that true transformation happens not at the surface level of mindset work, but by accessing the physical sensations and emotions stored in our subconscious. "Subconscious blocks are encoded in the right side of the brain through physical sensations and emotions, not through linear memories," she explains.
This understanding unlocks why traditional approaches often fall short for ambitious women entrepreneurs.
Cheryl Stelte, spiritual coach and master healer, shares how clearing subconscious blocks can transform both life and business by raising our "safety ceiling" and allowing us to step into our authentic power.
• Subconscious blocks are stored as physical sensations and emotions in the right brain, not through linear memories
• Many midlife women were conditioned not to process emotions properly, creating blocks that limit business growth
• Our "safety ceiling" determines how far we feel safe expanding our business and stepping into our power
• Full abdominal breathing changes brain function and creates a doorway to access the subconscious
• Client success story of a woman who finally launched her business after being stuck for 10 years
• When we heal ourselves, all our relationships naturally transform and improve
• Simple daily practice: breathe deeply into your lower abdomen for 6-8 seconds in and out, asking your body what's in your way

...And so what happened for her is her safety ceiling changed. When we grow, when we develop a business, we grow through our business. So when we first started our business, we have a certain safety ceiling. Okay, I'm going to do that. I've certainly had my safety ceilings, but we eventually hit it. And then we're being called to move beyond it, and it's all about going deep and clearing the blocks, those subconscious blocks that have prevented us from going further. And what it does? It lifts the safety ceiling. You know we have a. We have. We have a certain threshold in business and it's about our service and fulfillment threshold and it'll always keep us small.
Speaker 2:Well, welcome back to another episode of Connect, inspire, create the podcast. That's all about empowering midlife woman entrepreneurs to take bold action, spark fresh inspiration and lead their businesses with heart. I am so glad you're tuning in and today I am delighted to welcome my guest, cheryl Stelt. Hi, cheryl.
Speaker 2:Hi Carol, I'm thrilled to be here with you today, oh, we had a wonderful conversation before we started and that's just set the stage for lots of beautiful energy. But I wanted to just let my listeners know a little bit about you, so I'm going to share a little bit about your background and just let you know who Cheryl is. So my guest today, cheryl Stealth, is a spiritual coach, master, healer, bestselling author and the founder of Star of Divine Light Institute. With over 30 years of experience in healing, spiritual leadership and empowerment work, cheryl helps high functioning, spiritually aware women break through their subconscious blocks and we're going to dig into this that keep them from stepping fully into their authentic power. And through her books, retreats and you help me with this, I'm going to say Uzarius.
Speaker 1:You've got it right.
Speaker 2:Awesome, the Uzarius Energy Healing Certification Program. She has guided countless women to align with their true purpose and live with more clarity, confidence and flow, and today we are going to be talking about how these hidden blocks can quietly hold us back and how clearing them can transform both life and your business in profound ways. So, Cheryl, I've shared that we started this journey. You started this journey into this healing space. It's been, as you say, over 30 years, and I'd love for you just to take us back to a moment that you remember that set you on this path.
Speaker 1:Well, it was a very profound moment on the beach and I'll try and keep this short where I was on the beach with a friend and she was doing kinesiology on me and my deceased brother, who had taken his life at the age of 30, his spirit showed up and was hovering above me as I was laying on the beach and I never felt so much love in my life. It brought tears to my eyes. I started crying with the overwhelming love and it was like his being was a ball of white light hovering above me, and I'd never had a spiritual experience in my life before. Spirituality and meditation and healing were not words that were in my vocabulary back then and, for that matter, in most people at that time.
Speaker 2:Wow. And then look now, when you look at where you are 30 years later, where that has taken you. So, oh, my goodness. So if you think back over those decades, was there a challenge that you faced that truly shaped the way you approach your work today.
Speaker 1:Yes, absolutely so. My brother spirit's message to me was to start meditating, and I thought it was to help me communicate with him, and it certainly was not. He clearly was depressed, you know, but my friend ended up channeling him and she had never channeled anybody, and he shared that he was very troubled and that he was actually also suffering from bipolar disorder and had never been diagnosed. It certainly wasn't really a thing back then, and I had recently been diagnosed with severe depression myself, which at that time was just becoming an in thing. And so initially first I learned to meditate and the instructor always said just focus on your breath as it enters and leaves your nostrils, but don't change your breath. You just use your everyday breath.
Speaker 1:But my body had been conditioned. Living in Alberta, canada, during the cold winters, I had developed this capacity for a long full breath when I was a child, to stop myself from shivering and to feel warmer when I was outside, and so my body naturally wanted to just do that, to breathe that way. And so eventually I did and I started to heal because I started to access what was held in my subconscious. So I started releasing my own blocks to life, to living a fuller life, to having more joy in my life, and within months I got off those antidepressants and never had to go back. And so I never in a million years thought I would help others do the same. But as I shared with friends and so on and so forth, people started asking me for help.
Speaker 2:Isn't it so interesting how you are prepared for something that serves yourself and then you move on to share that gift with others? And I think this is perfect to dig in a little bit to these subconscious blocks and breaking through them, because I think many people that might be listening to this episode can relate to that feeling. I've tried everything, I have really tried everything, and I'm still feeling stuck. So let's just kind of talk a little bit about these subconscious blocks. What would you say they are and how do they quietly influence our choices?
Speaker 1:Subconscious blocks are. You can call them trauma, incidents or wounds, and we all have them and science has proven that trauma and our wounds whatever word you want to use proven that. Trauma and our wounds whatever word you want to use are encoded in the right side of the brain, in the subconscious, through physical sensations and emotions, not through linear memories. Linear memories are a left brain thing, that's the superficial thinking mind. Left brain thing, that's the superficial thinking mind. Any memories that we have from trauma are always fragmented. The storage is not through linear memories. We may have those memories and so we learn to repress our emotions and so, as midlife women and older, most of us were conditioned that way. Our parents didn't know how to safely and appropriately talk about their emotions and they didn't know how to be a great emotional resource for us. So we didn't learn to process our emotions and we didn't learn to express them freely and that, no matter what we're feeling, we're okay and that emotions are just energy in motion and they're entitled to a voice.
Speaker 2:I think that's what people need to remember how often, as we say, that is suppressed and not acknowledged, and I kind of think also of that being sort of embedded in ourselves.
Speaker 1:It is embedded in ourselves and it's a generational thing and we cannot heal it through ancestral or generational healing. The soul is here and alive now and so the change is with us and then it automatically heals the past, the generations, and heals the future. So it's really so. I help people, I give them the skills, I help them along to access what's in the subconscious. That's what started happening for me and I started to heal myself. And initially the focus for years was primarily on healing. And then I started to realize, through the same methods, we can reprogram the subconscious with you, taking advantage of the brain's neuroplasticity Right and rewiring your neural pathways, we can do that. We can take those old highways that we've been traveling our whole lives and take the vehicle off the highway and open up a new road and start to develop that so that life becomes different.
Speaker 1:It's not about this work, it's not about mindset work. Mindset work helps. It's at the level of the mind, but that's the more superficial level. So many of my clients who've done decades, even 40 years one woman, 50 years of spiritual work on her own therapy, everything healing, and they say, cheryl, nobody goes as deep as you do. So this is about going deep, you get to the root of it. It's like a dandelion. We all know a dandelion. If you want to get rid of it, you don't just pluck the flowers. You have to go all the way to the root. And so what will happen is the subconscious will bring forward for you physical sensations. You will become aware of how you have stored your wounds, your trauma, your subconscious beliefs in the physical body.
Speaker 2:Oh, cheryl, as you share that, I have something, when you're talking about these blocks often can hide in these places that we least expect them to hide and I just love that image of the highway and taking the vehicle off and rebuilding your roads and doing something different. But would you mind sharing an example of your work where you actually helped somebody clear and shifted everything for them from one to another for a client?
Speaker 1:Yes, I. Recently I had a client well there's I mean there's so many, but the one that comes to mind. She wanted to start a business. She had everything ready, she had her website all ready to go, her program, everything. She couldn't get it off the ground for 10 years. She was so stuck she would try. She spent a fortune, she did tons of training and she couldn't do it. And she was a referral from another client.
Speaker 1:And in working together, what she realized? She was raised in a family. She had one brother. Her father was chronic alcoholic, mother, super codependent, but relied on her for safety. So she became her mother's parent, so to speak, which is very common, the codependent child.
Speaker 1:And at the age of 63, she realized through our work that she has been living her life for everybody else and so many of us. We are so heavily conditioned to put everyone else first and this work often, if not always, takes people back, the ones who want serious change, takes us back to the womb. So in the womb she began to understand her mother's dysfunction and that relationship before she was even born, the emotions that she felt and the subconscious, derogatory, subconscious beliefs that were formed. And it was like before she even came out of the womb, she had made this commitment that her life would be in service to her mother. So, of course, all other relationships and Gabor Mate he's a famous psychologist in Vancouver, canada talks about the lack of attachment with the mother. So as humans, and especially babies, infants, fetuses we are designed to receive and when we come into the world and we realize the world isn't about receiving, we only learn to give. You know, that's an extreme. So in her I can't remember if it was, it was one of her last sessions and she was in the womb and she released this fully and she had done a lot of work it's like we work toward that and she realized her little fetus self, realized in vitro, that she is an amazing bright light, an amazing bright light, and that she came here to shine her light in the greatest ways. And it just finished shifting everything and through that time, all her relationships changed.
Speaker 1:So, a lot of people, if you want your marriage or friendships to stay the same, they're not going to stay the same. If you come and work with me, they are going to change. And her marriage did nothing but improve, improve, improve. And for a few weeks she would ask me, have you been working on my husband too, because he's so different? Well, her energy was different, so he couldn't stay the same and they became closer than they ever had been. So she had hope in her life, her health improved and she realized that she wasn't actually a healer, she was a transmitter, that she transmitted messages for people, and so she was able to fully own that and step into it, change her website and get her business off the ground. And it was just so clear. And she did it with such excitement, no apprehension at all. And so what happened for her is her safety ceiling changed.
Speaker 1:When we grow, when we develop a business, we grow through our business. We have, we have a certain threshold in business and it's about our service and fulfillment threshold, and it'll always keep us small. So, being of service.
Speaker 1:Oh, I can only do that. I remember when I used to think, oh, I can't really work with businesswomen because I'm not a great businesswoman myself, I'm only in business to do the work I want to do. Like what a ridiculous belief. And so my level of fulfillment was at a certain level. And then I just kept getting more and more businesswomen. And I had to have a look at this one day and go well, wait a minute, you're designed to work with businesswomen, that's where I'm of the best service and that's where my fulfillment level is the highest. And so I just had to do my own work, walk my talk and go well, what's getting in the way, what's in your subconscious? And I could release that and move to that level. And that's what we are all designed to do to move beyond our safety ceiling and step into a new level of service and fulfillment in everybody's way.
Speaker 2:And it comes to a place where you then realize it and then, as you say, you do the work and then it opens up these opportunities. So I know, for someone who's listening right now and can relate to this, I'm off track or I'm feeling blocked. Could you share a really just a small, doable step that they could start with right now, today, to start clearing and regaining flow?
Speaker 1:Yes, the number one thing is you can meditate. I don't care if you call it meditation or not. This is not about mindfulness, clearing your mind, none of that. It's using the full breath.
Speaker 1:So I invite you right now, put your hand on your lower abdomen and, carol, I invite you to do this, thumb at the level of the navel, and I want you to inhale to the count of six or eight seconds, letting your belly expand and exhale to the count of six or eight seconds, and you keep doing that and it changes the brain function. That's what's going to take you into your subconscious, because when you breathe, normally you're using the back of the brain, the medulla oblongata, the brainstem. But as soon as you engage those abdominal muscles and breathe in this way, that function goes to the global brain and frees up the back of the brain, which is your doorway to the subconscious and the right brain, and then you can come into your body and ask your body what's in my way? And remember it's the physical sensations and the emotions that you're looking for. So, even if memories come up, pieces of memory you ask yourself what are the emotions that want to be felt now and you can breathe through them. So it's using that full breath.
Speaker 2:Which is just so, so perfect. I mean, I agree with you 100% that it's you know, and we have our breath with us wherever we are, so it is something that we can turn to. And you know, you don't have a journal, you don't have something else, but you can turn to your breath. So you've captured, I know, so much of your wisdom in your books and including From Blocked to Powerful, and I have to share that. I have just ordered my copy on Kindle, so I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but what inspired that title and what can readers and myself expect to learn from Blocked to Powerful?
Speaker 1:Well, that book. I wrote that book last year, launched it about eight months ago, nine months ago, near the end of last year, and I never planned on writing a third book. I never planned on writing a second book. But what happened? This opportunity presented itself and I tuned in. I had so much resistance, I was like I'm not writing another book, I don't need to write another book, and I tuned in and I had to move beyond my block and I really got that I need to write sort of a legacy book and that you know, we all grow through writing a book.
Speaker 1:Every author grows, usually grows through writing a book, and so that book is so different because it the first two books have meditation practices in them, but this book is full of all kinds of practices, what I have found so useful, many, many different skills and other modalities that I've used that I've never shared in this way. So it's just chock-a-block full of practices. Why you want to do them, you know, and my stories of women healing and becoming empowered through these practices, of women healing and becoming empowered through these practices. So for any business owner, it's really great that you can just hop into the book and you'll find the ones that suit you best for your business, and it's all about the same thing, but it's different ways of doing it.
Speaker 2:This is perfect because this just ties in. This is all taking care of ourselves, but look how beautiful to be able to tie this into your business. And so, as we wrap up, if our listeners could remember just one thing from our conversation today, what would you want that to be?
Speaker 1:remember that you are powerful beyond what you can currently imagine. I ask all my clients when we're finished working together did you ever think you'd become the woman you are today? And they always say no, I could not imagine this. So if you remember, you are powerful beyond what you can imagine.
Speaker 2:There we go. We should say that again, right.
Speaker 1:You are powerful beyond what you can imagine.
Speaker 2:There we go. So, cheryl, for people to connect with you and find you, I know that you have a meditation link that you shared with me, so I'm going to put that in the show notes, but where do they find you? The website, and then you share with me social media. Where's the best place to connect with you?
Speaker 1:Yes, so it's actually three powerful meditations helps you with the full breath, and then my most listened to meditation, creating safety and stability in the root chakra. It's to get you beyond that safety ceiling and start to really realize your authentic power, your inner truth, to reclaim it. And so best to go to my website, starofdivinelightcom. So it's all one word, starofdivinelightcom. I'm mostly on Instagram, so you can go. Instagram is stealthcheryl and I'm just now getting into LinkedIn. If you can imagine, I'm not a big social media, so you can find me on LinkedIn and I'm loving speaking on podcasts. So if you want more of this, there's other podcasts you can hop into, but those are the places and there's resources on my website. You can sign up for a free discovery call and I would love to learn more about you and your business, your challenges.
Speaker 2:So, listeners, I invite you to take up Cheryl on those opportunities and, as I mentioned, the links will be in the show notes. So, cheryl, thank you for today. It was wonderful.
Speaker 1:Thank you, carol, really such an honor to connect with you.
Speaker 2:So to my listeners, I just want to say thank you for listening and if today's conversation sparked which I just feel, you could not have been not inspired, I invite you to share this with somebody else who you think would enjoy it.
Speaker 2:And this week, I invite you to embrace your own unique way of connecting, inspiring and creating.
