There have been more recent news and studies about youth sports and the risk of spreading COVID-19 in these venues which have brought a great deal of concern to parents and those who work with our nation’s youth. Dr. Til Jolly, Aveshka’s Chief Medical Officer and IIFX Distinguished Fellow and Medical Task Force Chair, sits down with Skip Gilbert, CEO of US Youth Soccer. In this podcast, Mr. Gilbert sheds insight into the effects of COVID-19 on his organization and how the game of soccer, sports in general, and how our young athletes have been affected by the pandemic. They discuss the issues, and the precautions US Soccer took to ensure the safety of children when playing – at both indoor and outdoor venues, while taking into account the variances of state rules and mandates when competing.
