Synopsis
After rising through the ranks of her male-dominated profession, idealistic FBI agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt) receives a top assignment. Recruited by mysterious government official Matt Graver (Josh Brolin), Kate joins a task force for the escalating war against drugs. Led by the intense and shadowy Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), the team travels back-and-forth across the U.S.-Mexican border, using one cartel boss (Bernardo Saracino) to flush out a bigger one (Julio Cesar Cedillo).

Jim is a freelance film critic and the Editor-in-Chief of TAKEONECinema.net, which covers festivals and independent cinema year-round. He hosted a fortnightly radio show on Cambridge 105FM from 2011-2013, and has co-produced Cinetopia on Edinburgh's EH-FM since January 2019. He has served on multiple film festival juries, the Cambridge Film Festival submissions panel for short and feature films since 2011, and is a former Deputy Director of Cambridge African Film Festival."
