Show Notes

This #TuesdayTalkwithLB is a special one with a new friend that I met on opening day of duck season in Arkansas - Joe Duke.  I had the privilege of hunting with him opening weekend and getting to know him.  Joe is fifteen years old from Benton, AR. He grew up deer and duck hunting with his dad on some very pristine private ground as well as public timber all across Arkansas. He told me about some of the hunts he went on as well as some stories about the incredible things he has seen in the woods. We talked about what we really enjoy about duck hunting and hunting public land. Joe told me about some of the incredible men he has had the opportunity to hunt with and learn from. He told me about some altercations in the duck woods, but also talks about how many amazing people he has met in the woods. Joe told me about watching ducks and understanding how a duck works. We talked about the future of duck hunting & Joe said he will be hunting in the woods until he can't walk and then he will wheel himself in. He's so ready.
And of course we wrapped up with some good advice!
I can't thank Joe enough for being on the podcast. I had a blast getting to talk with him, and hear his stories and views on duck hunting. Joe gives me so much hope for the future of duck hunting and that maybe the dedication of keeping good morals in duck hunting will continue for many more generations. I hope that everyone can learn a little something from Joe Duke.
