Welcome to Align and Prosper, the podcast for women ready to remember who the fuck their soul came here to really be. I'm your host, Elise Danielle, multi-dimensional mentor and soul-led entrepreneur. After over a decade in the coaching, healing, and business space. And walking through my own unraveling and reawakening, I've learned that the real work goes way beyond the surface and the strategy. This is the place we go beyond mindset to rewire your entire system for alignment, truth, and the kind of abundance that flows from within. This is the work you're ready for now. Let's drop in. Okay, this episode is super fun. I have beautiful cast Mendoza Jones joining me today. And I thought we would be sharing lots about business, which we definitely do, in terms of how to really lead with intuition, how to balance intuition and strategy, what it looks like, having a pretty multi-dimensional business. Um and and kind of juggling different arenas under one whole business frame. Cause I think she does that so beautifully. And we ended up talking so much more about self-leadership, deep levels of trust, and really so much of what I know to be true that supports us to grow a beautifully aligned and on purpose business. So I'm just gonna cut it right there. We will dive in and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on this one. Welcome. Oh my gosh, Cassie. We I can't actually remember. This always pops up when I'm first introducing someone. Oh, I found you on YouTube because through Brad. That's how this all happened. Brad, who I, you know, we all love. Brad, who doesn't love Brad? If you don't know, you don't know Brad. If you're listening, you know Brad. Um, and I think I reached out to you because then that led me to maybe a podcast or something you did. And I was like, oh, I love you. I love this podcast. Thank you. And from there we just connected. And I think that's actually fun to share because I feel like that's the thing most people don't do.
SPEAKER_02Yes. And I love that also because last year, about this time last year, I was like, YouTube. I'm making friends with YouTube. And I just started putting videos on YouTube like with very little prep and just one tiny ring light. It's this big, it's I've still got it here. And I and I brought tapping into my business for the first time, even though I've been tapping, like doing EFT tapping on myself since 2008, and I've been using it with clients since I don't even know, like years and years and years. But I was like, why am I not doing this outside of my business, like on YouTube? Yeah. And I love because you since that I love knowing that you found me through YouTube because it's exactly the point of YouTube for me was to build visibility really easily with no effort. Yes, and I've had so many. This is like the second or third podcast interview that I've had as the guest, and the and the host has found me from YouTube.
SPEAKER_01No way, that's so cool.
SPEAKER_02I love that.
SPEAKER_01Love it when it actually goes to block 100%. Praise, praise me for that. That's amazing. So I'm so excited to connect because we've been chatting back and forth. I just feel like I really align with so much of your values and the way you show up and your transparency and your authenticity and all of those pieces. And I really love how you have really integrated so much. Like it's not, I mean, look, none of it's separate, isn't it? But I love how you integrate so many different facets of being able to step into transformation, clear out patterns, clear out all of the things that come up for us as the F-word spiral goes. Goes and goes and goes and goes. And I think you've done such a great job of integrating that all under one umbrella. So I would love to just hear like tell us a little about, I would love to hear your story and like how that's all come together and come about too. Because I think that's so inspiring for so many of us who feel like we don't fit into one thing or we've just been showing up in one avenue, but there's actually so much behind that. That's usually it, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02I could never fit myself into one box, triangle, rectangle, like another. I just could never. I just couldn't. And I and I love, and we were talking about this like before we hit record, like niche stuff, and as you said, like combining. I've just for me, I've always given myself permission to pivot. Yeah, I love that and to not niche myself. But there's always a thread of my work. So even when I'm doing business coaching or you know, one-on-one, like like a group business coaching or one-on-one energy alignment work and kinesiology and the tapping, there's always a thread, and the thread I would say is my niche, but the but then that's where it ends. Like it that's yes, yeah. So I started out actually as a makeup artist. I left school, I loved high school. The last year of school was like the best year of school. I wouldn't say my life, I've had many great years since then, but like I absolutely I loved my highlighters and my time, my like study schedule and my timetable, and I did really well at high school. Like I remember they you had to, you know, I wanted a specific high score to get into this course at university, and I I set my goal higher than the number I needed to get in, and I and I got higher. Like I just I went above what I needed. And that was actually, if I look back, one of the first times that I really tapped into that or something better energy, because I think I needed like a 94% score, and I was like, I want 96.5. I'm gonna go up. And then I actually got 97.3. So I I got more than I needed, but I it's because I initially went even higher and then did the work, but then let it go. Yeah, and then I went to university, I hated university or uni as we call it here, even though I loved it. Yeah, I was doing journalism and I was like, what am I doing at uni? I hate this. Yeah, and I needed something creative, I needed something to like just to, I don't know, for joy. And so I started a makeup course, which has been the best thing ever because I did end up doing one year course here. I lived in Toronto for seven months doing makeup there. Oh no way. I'm from Vancouver. Are you? Yeah. Yeah. So I lived in Toronto for seven months. Crazy. I absolutely loved it. No one could understand my they were like, Are you British? And then London. I went to London while I was living in Toronto, and when I was in London, they were like, Are you Canadian? I was like, No, I'm Australian, but my family's South African, so I sound a bit British, but I've been living in Canada. It's so funny. I remember one day I went to order a mocha in Toronto and then of what? And I was like, a mocha? You literally can't understand. Oh, yeah. A mocha. Mocha. Sorry. It's not that different.
SPEAKER_01Um my husband's Australian, and anytime he comes back, I have to like be an in-between translator. And he gets so frustrated.
SPEAKER_00He's like, I'm speaking English.
SPEAKER_02And they used to do the the one teacher used to make me repeat all the time, a dingo ate my baby. Like he was obsessed with me saying that. And when I left, they got me a cake that said, a dingo ate my baby. Like, I wasn't the only visitor into Toronto, but I out of the whole school, I got a farewell cake because I was Australian. I don't know, they were obsessed with my accent. It was a white cake with red icing. A dingo ate my baby. I was so embarrassed. I was like, why isn't everyone getting a cake? We're all leaving. No, just me. It was so funny. Everyone ate the cake, but only I got the cake.
SPEAKER_03Oh okay.
SPEAKER_02So when I got back from um Canada, I worked so hard. I've always been really good at working hard and getting a version of what I want, or the awesome thing better. So I some I I had to start assisting makeup artists, like, and I started assisting the top hair makeup artists in Sydney. And someone said it's gonna take you like three or four years to get an agency where you get repped, and then they take your bookings and they they get you booked on all the shoots and everything, and they organize, they manage everything for you. It's like a model having an agency. And I got one in 13 months or 14 months, and I just worked so hard. And then that same year, I was like, oh, I'm getting, I can't do this anymore. Like, I love makeup, but I'm sitting there doing makeup on someone, and then I'm waiting hours. I'm on set for hours doing nothing, and I'd always loved nutrition and naturopathy and herbal medicine. So I moved into that. When I'd been in doing that for like a year, a year and a half, I brought in kinesiology, which is I'll explain it because not everyone understands what it is, but and there's two different ways. There's like the US version and maybe the Canadian version, which is like um much more human physical anatomy. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The kind of, I want to say like the Commonwealth version, like Australia, UK, New Zealand, although kind of much more energetic. It's much more energetic, and we use muscle testing. Anyone watching the video, like muscle testing to tap into the unconscious or the subconscious mind. And I also I use both of those words interchangeably, I should say, because NLP will say unconscious, and kinesiology is like whatever, subconscious, it's not less than. Um so we use muscle testing to tap into the unconscious mind to find what is blocked in what you're how you're wanting to feel or what you're wanting to create, and then what your body needs in order to shift that stress and realign yourself on every level. And so I brought that in, and as I did, my clientele really organically shifted from very physical-based um issues to the much more energetical, energetical, that's a new word, energetic, spiritual, emotional, uh, and also then creative. And I started to attract more healers, other naturopaths, nutritionists, coaches, writers. I come from a family of entrepreneurs. I've always worked for myself. It's just how my brain works and thinks and how I see things. And so in about 2013, 14, I shifted from like the health work into more business coaching, creativity coaching. I launched my first, I was still doing the health-based work as well. I launched my first e-course. Uh I and then I moved into like running courses, writing. This is when ebooks were really big. Like you could launch an e-book and like make 20K. 2016. Under resort. Back in the days. Yeah. Um yeah, even an e-course. Like I did like the launches, it was just, it was just a different time.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02And then I won a book deal for You Are Enough. So my first book, I won a book deal with Hey House in 2014, 15, and the book came out in 2016. So it's the 10-year anniversary this year. Um and then I wrote two more books. I had two babies in between that I added NLP and tapping into my business. I've always been a writer. I've so there's been like lots of magazine work and media and podcasting and speaking, so workshop tours and my book tours and all that. So and I still do makeup on the side now. So as we were saying before, I if someone has my number and they book me, you know, if I'm free, I'll do a wedding and I'll do but mitzvahs and bar mitzvahs and parties and functions and all of that. So I do, I do a lot of things. But the main work is the coaching clearing work.
SPEAKER_01Love it. I love that. Such a cool it's interesting. I after I graduated uni, I studied psych and philosophy, went very deep into that kind of it all makes sense, it all comes around, doesn't it? And then I really also steered into my first, well, second business first was yoga teaching. Yeah. Then I went, I studied postgrad, like holistic nutrition, and got into although that always had been kind of in my family and all of that. So so interesting, isn't it? And then I the threads are always there. So I love how you speak to that so much. I love it. I love it. We'd love to know. So it's so cool to me that you work with such a wide variety of different humans. Um is there like common threads there? Like mostly people who are in business, working in health, a little bit of both.
SPEAKER_02I would say I would say a huge so because I started my work in health and more in the not in the business entrepreneur space, and I've had clients who worked with me in 2012, 13 stay in my world, even when my work shifted. Yeah. I would say that there is a sp is um quite a balance between like entrepreneurial clients who run their own business.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, mostly my clients are women, but I do have, there's still men who like have done courses and have read my books and come to workshops. I do speak mostly to women through my work. Um, but I would say that there is a split between women in business and women in like not, I wouldn't even say corporate, but like some kind of like career that's not necessarily running their own business. But the thread between all of my clients is they have really big goals and dreams for themselves. They they they feel a gap between like where they are and where they want to be, and they're not always great at looking at how far they've come.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02So there can be like a lot of not high achieving, really high achieving, deep feeling, um, like big, big thinking women, like lots of yeah, like planning, perfectionism, and also this thread, like my biggest thread, which has been there my whole, my whole business, is that the enoughness thread. So trusting that you are enough, trusting your work is enough, trusting your voice is enough, trusting that the first iteration and the second and the third, they're all enough and they're all perfect as they come out. Whether it's right because I've helped clients write um outlines for their book, write their book, I've helped clients get book deals. So there's so many places that I can work with a client within. It doesn't matter if it's getting a promotion at work, coming back into their role, an office job after Matt Lee, setting up a business, closing down a business, pivoting, um, being just, you know, working on something that they're doing in their life, whatever that is. It's the enoughness thread. There's so much work there around like self-trust and trusting the universe and releasing attachment and grip and surrendering. And I love just that the all-something better. So it's like there's always another option that you have not thought of yet. There's that, it's the big possibility energy that I want to help clients tap into possibility thinking, possibility energy, and just releasing the how. It's like this is what I'm working on. Here's what I can control. And I talk often about the difference between power and control. So I bring that into a lot of we're not in control of so many things. Like, yeah, sorry, but yeah, we always can come back to our internal power and we can always shift things outside of ourselves without feeling like we need to control them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And sometimes that does mean walking away, letting things go, course correcting, pivoting. It doesn't always feel good to release control, but it's always it's when we can do it from a sense of power, it's actually always for your highest good. 100%.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And isn't it funny? I work with very similar women and have am a very similar human, you know, which tracks. And I find it always so interesting of how what I'm really seeing, and it'd be so curious to hear your thoughts here. It's like that, it's that balance, isn't it, between surrender and also like a rediscovery of so much of our power. Because I I I tend to see and I feel that so much of that has just been beaten out of us.
SPEAKER_02And it's hard to surrender. Like we don't know. And it's hard. Yeah. I think sometimes we think surrendering means like giving up or a lack of like losing our power because something feels so out of your control. And I I mean I wrote a whole like my second book, It's All Good, is is so much about surrender because they went through it. Actually started with like a business project that felt like a massive failure and it wasn't a failure, but at the time, like letting that go and just surrendering to the what was and not the what is. Yes, yeah, was really hard. But surrendering is not giving up, it's actually releasing our grip and like no, you know, that's it saying nature abhors a vacuum. It's like, well, when there's space made, what can rush in to fill that space?
SPEAKER_01Yes, yeah, and it's forgetting too that like we are so limited with our awareness and our consciousness in terms of like what we can see versus what we see. I always just see it as like we see like this pinprick through what's actually in existence. Do you know what I mean? So it's like wild that we're like, no, but like with this whole limited viewfinder I have, I've got to control all of this stuff. And it's like that's insanity.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And like there's so many times you can look back in your life and be like, oh, that didn't work out the way I wanted it to. Yeah. Yeah. And even like what we were just saying, I was in this beautiful apartment last year, and I thought I was gonna be able to renew in this beautiful beachside apartment. I, you know, just separated from my husband, and I, the kids and I were like feeling so settled, and then we got the notice you've got to leave. And I was like, I don't wanna leave. This is our home. We're so settled, we're so happy. And then I found a new place, and I knew to the weekend when I would find the place. Like I knew my guidance was like, you find it before Christmas, and by mid-January, you're fully settled. And I was like, Great, thank you. I needed that. Yes. I needed that, yes, and I did. I found this beautiful apartment. I even was like on the phone to my mom on a walk, and I said, Mom, I've got to get off the phone. I think the agent's about to call me, and I got off the phone and the agent called me to tell me I got it. But it's it's slightly bigger, it's not near the beach, but it's near a big, beautiful park. It's closer to school. Like there's so many beautiful positives, and that's the or something better, even though it was so sad to leave the old place, so hard to accept I was leaving, costs so much money to move because I I help I get packers and removalists. I can't I'm not I refuse to do that by myself and stress myself out with two little kids. Oh not doing that. So that was the or something better, and I had to surrender, even though I would have dug my like my inner child was stomping her feet. Like I did not want to go totally surrender, like just you know, and sometimes I just say show me how good it's gonna get, or show me how good it can get, like just show me, show me the way, remove the blocks, remove what's getting in the way, and that sometimes means people leave your life, or totally like projects fall through, like things fall over.
SPEAKER_01Uncomfortable things have to come up for it to be released, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But you keep I keep saying, just show me how good, show me how good it gets.
SPEAKER_01Yes, love it. I'm also a fan of that mantra. I'm like, no, really, show me like now.
SPEAKER_02Like I want no, but if I I actually have had two mantras for the last like 18 months that have been my guiding mantras, and the first one is everything is always working out for me. And I just like that's it. Everything is always working out for me. Full stop new paragraph. And the second one is, and I just want to see what happens next. It's just like it's kind of a version of like, let's do it for the plot, but less dramatic. It's like I just want to see what happens next. Okay, I get notice that I gotta leave, I just want to see what happens next. Okay, my like, you know, whatever's happening, I'm like, okay, I just want to see what happens next, and then next, and then next. And it just keeps everything moving forward and keeps my eyes open. Yes. And makes me remember, like, I'm not, I'm never stuck. There's always the next chapter, the next phase, the next page, the next paragraph. I just want to see what happens next. And everything is always working out for me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Same. That's those have been such big ones. And like, I'm so excited. I I've really leaned into like, I'm so excited for you to show me how this turns out. Like, I'm I'm excited. That's a nice one. You show me. Because there's just gotta be uh there exactly what you said. Like, there's always a next paragraph, nothing's ever over. It feels like it sometimes. That's not to, you know, bypass the very human experience of needing to navigate that, but it's a both and, you know, which is hard for our brains. Our brains hate that.
SPEAKER_02No, yeah. And I have like this past summer, like in you know, real time as we record. Um, the my kids have been back at school for like a couple weeks, but there was a long Australian summer. It was hot, I had to move. There was so many life. There's an ant on my glass, go away. There was so speaking of like Australian summer, there were so many things that happened. And I was on the kitchen floor crying many times, more times than I would have wanted. Not even the kitchen floor, every floor. Yeah, bathroom, kitchen, entry, room, couch. So, but I reminded myself, oh my god, so many tears. Uh, I reminded myself often, like it's even something I tell my kids, no feeling is final. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Ah, so true.
SPEAKER_02And we just sometimes need that reminder, no hundred percent. Now, it it will pass through me. And I just lean on like people, humans in my life, but also my rules. And so much journaling this summer. It's like so like pages and pages and pages, and so many cards. Like, I've so I've created a card deck myself. Um but all of that, yeah. I can pull one for us afterwards. Yes, yes. That's yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's beautiful.
SPEAKER_02Well, the belief, thank you, belief balance deck. So it's based in kinesiology principles of traditional Chinese medicine. Ah, um at the five element theory. Yeah. Yeah, I'll just pull in. So the cards I pulled yesterday actually for me were courage, truth, and relaxation. And they always they tell the story when they come out together. So I'll pull my cards, I'll do a balance, and then sometimes I just remind myself like this kind of everything is always working out for me. But the the the flip side of like, I won't be here forever. I will not feel like this forever. This is a this is in real like in reality, this is a hard season in my life. Single mom, two little kids, uh, it was summer, school holiday, like there was just a lot. And I just have to remind myself, this is a story I will tell in weeks or a few years. I I will, I know I'm writing another book. This will be an amazing next book. I just have to keep living this chapter in real time before I can write it. And I just reminded myself over and over again, this is just this is a this is a hard like to honor the hard and not bypass it. Bypass it. And then also there's a line where I don't want to wallow in it, yes, and like victimize, like be a victim in my story because that helps nobody.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I walked the line this summer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's walking the line. I was just gonna say it's a walk, it's a line. You gotta learn more, it's a hard line, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But there's also so much compassion. Like, there's still in my bedroom a couple of you know, beautiful prints that are like still leaning against the wall, and I'm like, it's okay. You know, like I I I haven't put them on the wall yet, but like it's okay. The kids are fed and the internet works, and like there's a few little things that are still not done, but I've only been here. I've been here for two months, but every box but one was unpacked the next day because I had unpackers cut. Like I've had, but I've had compassion when things haven't felt you know, there's an adjustment period with every big life change. Absolutely, and we moved three times last year, so there's been lots of like me and the kids. There's been lots of, but now we can settle, but here you can exhale.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yes. Ugh, I love that. I would love to know how did have you, because it sounds like you're so connected to your intuition, and that is such like a through line in everything that you do.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01How what does that look like for you? Because I know that there's so many people listening that are like either on the precipice or they're starting to dive into that, and it feels very, it feels like shaky ground at the beginning, you know, because you're pretty much walking that line of the trust and surrender when we begin to explore so much of that. So I'd love to know how you have developed that or what you've leaned into to kind of bring that forward through more. I would love to hear your story there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So I I how do I explain this? So I think I've always been a very intuitive, like I'm uh Cancerian, I'm very like water sign, yeah, intuitive, you know, as I said before, like big, uh deep thinking, big feeling kind of gal. And so I've always been very in tune with certain things, and I've always been good at noticing the feelings in my body if I get a no or I get an uncertainty. I might there might be zero logic, and you often there is zero logic behind it. I also grew up horse riding, and so I'm very attuned to like there's something about horse girls and intuition, and you know, you you're reading another animal's energy on like a big level, but then and it's show shown to you in such a tangible way.
SPEAKER_01I love it. 100%. It's so crazy.
SPEAKER_02It's so crazy. And even as I say that my new home is opposite the equestrian center where I grew up horse-riding.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02And at dinner time, I can hear them neighing for their hay and their dinner. It's so cute. It's just oh, and you're like horses' heart, their energy, their the electromagnetic field from their heart is so big, and I just feel like getting heart, horse heart energy. Love, yeah. That's awesome. And so with kinesiology, I think that was when I really started to feel more attuned to my intuition. And I do differentiate guidance that I receive that drops in, which I'll tell you about some of the guidance that come in, and then like my more body-based intuition. Yeah. I don't want to get too into the nitty-gritty of like that, because everyone's gonna feel that differently. And sometimes I'm like, I'm like, I don't even know if that's guidance or intuition or both. Like I get the guidance that my intuition confirms, but yes, I just know there's both there. Yeah, and I work with both of them very fluidly, but they do feel different. Intuition feels like it comes in this way, yes, guidance drops in this way, drops. It literally feels like a drop, it drops. So with kinesiology, and actually, even when I was a naturopath, I remember opening up my liquid herb like cabinet, and at one point I had like 150 herbs. And I remember I even I never even had to muscle, because if you're a naturopath, a naturopath or a herbalist, you you create a herbal formula for your clients. It's liquid herbs, you blend a beautiful witty blend. When I brought in kinesiology, I would muscle test the herbs that the client needed. And at some point I stopped needing to muscle test. I'd open this cupboard. And the herbs that I needed would just like almost Harry Potter float out to me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I also stopped needing to muscle test as much when I started to see clients on Zoom or even in person because what they needed, or the block, or the I'd open the chart of emotions, and the one I that they were blocked with would just my it would, I would just go straight there. And then I might confirm with the muscle testing. But so as I work, my intuition and my guidance would get clearer and clearer. But um, since becoming a single mum, my intuition, my guide, or both, but my guidance has been like like so spot on. When I moved out of the family apartment into my parents' home last year with the kids, I got the guidance. You will be here for three to four months and you will get a new home. It will be a phone call and it will just be easy and it will just be yours. And I was like, listen, guidance, do you know the Sydney real estate market? Do you understand? Are you sure 80? Are you sure there are 80 people lined up to get an apartment in the Eastern suburbs? And I'm a single mom who runs her own business. I don't have payslips, I have bass statements. Like I can show you my tax return, but I do not get a pay slip. And so what happened was at the three-month mark, I'd gone to a few places, 80 people lined up, three-month mark to get an email. I'd go look at this place. No one has it turned out no one else had applied, no one else had gone for it. I got the apartment. It was because it was a short lease, but I got them up a bit. And she called me. It was a phone call. She said, You've got it. And I said, How many people came? She goes, No, it's just you. So that was it's just a phone call, it's just easy. You're the only one who came through. The owners loved you, you can rent it. That was at the three-month mark. And at the four-month mark, I moved into my parents' place. I mean, sorry, out of my parents' place. Right. I also got the insight that when I left that apartment, that I wouldn't be it's this sound, this is a little bit more vague, but like I wouldn't be leaving it necessarily in air quotes alone. Like there would be a person helping me leave. And it's gonna sound really funny because it's not, it wasn't as specific, it wasn't as um what's the word? Like basically I'd been dating and there was someone that I was dating that like was almost like an emotional support person as I was packing up and leaving, and that guidance was still right. There'll be someone that to help, like, yeah, and there were so many other things that when I got my new place, uh, I knew that I was getting it. And I knew, as I said, like that I was gonna move in, be settled by Christmas. There have been things with relationships in dating that I've known, like to the day would happen and they've happened. There are things this year that I get a really strong, clear sense of. And so I just follow it. And now, like, you know, I I've got friends and like I'll tell my sister, one of my sisters, or both my sisters and like my one sister is like, I just believe. She's like, if you tell me something, like I just, it's I just it's yeah, that's how I'm taking it in. I take it, and there have just been so many things that have happened so clearly. Like, like my guidance says this this will be, it's not always I don't always get it's left or right, but I might get there'll be a change in direction. And I'm like, okay, change in direction. And then it is up to me to say, is that the left or is it right? But I knew it was coming.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01I love that. And how has that just kind of dropped? It sounds like you've just kind of, I mean, my experience is the more you listen, the stronger it gets. Yes, yes, which is the catch 22 of it.
unknownI know.
SPEAKER_02Fully. And I think there was something about I've always had strong guidance, but there was something about becoming a single mom where I was like, I the guidance needs to come, it not even needs to, there was there was space for it to land even more deeply. Yeah. For me, I also do a lot of journaling, and I love to, I don't do it all the time, but I will every now and then just do like a download from my soul and my handwriting will change. I might ask a question or I might just get an answer even though there was no question. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I love my experience too. I find writing is so powerful for that, it's so interesting. I think because you just get out of your frontal lobe and just like tap in.
SPEAKER_02You just tap in. And so I would say if someone isn't sure, there's an amazing book called Writing Down Your Soul by Janet Connor.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02And she writes about she teaches you the process of how to do automatic writing and to connect with your soul.
SPEAKER_01Oh, cool.
SPEAKER_02It's I read it a decade ago, and it's yeah, amazing.
SPEAKER_00Okay, cool.
SPEAKER_02And even before that, I used to do it and my handwriting would change, but then I deepened the process and the practice through this book. Cool. I can also just sit, and I again I'm gonna say I don't do this enough, but I could just sit and close my eyes and just get something, yeah, get guidance. Yeah, and I I know that I need to do that more because that I've recently there's a few things have happened lately where I'm like, oh, I reckon if I'd paused, yes, I get that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, then I would have had that nudge. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And yet that also kind of minimizes my other belief that everything is working out for me and I'm on the right path. And if something happened like that, it was meant to happen like that. Yeah. Even if it was, as you said, really uncomfortable or push me out of my comfort zone. And and I think, and I can be really good at like self-shaming, and could like could I could have done this.
SPEAKER_01Current, like current consciousness with past action, right? It's so easy to do. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And so I hope again, I walk, I like walk the line of where can I look at how can I use that to create more space to pause in my life and just sit without you know the stimulation, even like without a put uh a guided meditation or anything, and just sit with myself.
SPEAKER_03Totally.
SPEAKER_02Sometimes even without the journal, because it's just like just sit and just breathe and just receive something, any just create the space, yeah. Yeah, but then also not self-flagellate uh uh in that process or before that, or you know, just totally, yeah. Yeah, like how can I reflect and and evaluate things and tweak as they move forward, but yeah, without the without the flagellation.
SPEAKER_01A hundred percent. Because there's no right way. It's just all learning. It's all learning, right? Like it's the only way to really deepen, I think, the practice and the embodiment of that connection is just from doing it.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01And seeing how else you can like, oh, cool, I can see this. Great. That's a good note. Exactly. I'm gonna, I'm gonna be more intentional with that next time. Exactly. I love that. Oh, I love it. Um, that really kind of brought up something else for me. And I'm trying to recall what you mentioned. Oh, just in terms of um the following the intuition, do you find that you've always utilized that as your kind of guiding light through business too? A hundred percent.
SPEAKER_02Like I I've always worked also with the energy of my business as its own energy.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love that. Yes, I'm a big believer of that too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So, like, since and also also individual projects, my books. So if I was stuck writing a chapter in a book, I'd be like, book, can you please work on chapter 13? Um drop it in when it's ready. And then I would just get along, get on rather with whatever I was doing. And then at some point in the future, chapter 13 would just like drip, drip, drip in or drop in in time, you know. I love that. I need to work so hard and hold this up all by myself. But 100% of my intuition has guided me in business, it's guided me with projects, it's when creativity will just like ping something at me. It helps me with planning, like when am I gonna launch something? Like, I don't really go by the moon or the season. I go by my, not even my cycle, but my body feeling of like it'll be here, it'll be there. Um, and also the energy of of my business as well. Um, things like pricing and uh just everything. I I definitely use my intuition in running my business.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, that's my experience as well. I mean, there's times where I'm strategy is a thing and it it's a big part of it for sure. Yeah, but I know for sure that nothing works like tapping in and really feeling into beyond this, yes, what actually is feeling called or like what's calling you through, or what's what's wanting to come through too.
SPEAKER_02Yes, and it's also obviously when there's a no, like if I've been asked to collaborate on something, or if something's come off my business and my intuition and my body and my business is like no, that that that's a no, like there's there's a contraction there, but then also that felt sense when you can feel like I I often speak about how you can feel fear and expansion at the same time. Yeah, so you might feel a contraction and a no will feel closed off, your body might feel shut down and leaned back, and an expansion will feel the opposite in your system, but you can feel open and expanded and also have fear at the same time. And that's fear is never a reason to not do something. I mean, in real life, obviously, like if there's fear, don't go down the dark alley. But like in business, fear is not the reason to do it when there is also expansion present.
SPEAKER_01A hundred percent. And I think that's the that's the fine-tuning of like tapping into what's actually feeling true versus what is what are our patterns there. Like what's the what is the brain trying to do? Because it always, always, always just wants to continue to create the same thing again and again, and equate that with safety, as we know, right? But it's like that, it's the it's tuning in to know the nuance there, because it's so different for everyone. And it's it's hard sometimes, especially when something is really scary and new, which is most things, but you know what I mean? When it's extra stretchy and extra, extra beneficial in terms of what that's allowing us to step into, it's usually gonna have almost the same equal amount of fear.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02A hundred percent. And I think that's when that the that that deep trust in yourself and what you're working on, and that you know, you'll figure everything out and you're always supported, and there's always an awesome thing better, and just see what happens next. And if you don't like it, then you pay.
SPEAKER_01Nothing's permanent, it's always literally nothing that's possible. Like, I think it's so normal for a lot of my clients who are very similar to yours. Like, we're very driven, very used to success in a lot of ways, too. And so that just becomes the baseline very easily, right? And when we delve into entrepreneurship, that's not the baseline. No. And I think it's this, it's so easy to come into it with like there's a right way and there's a wrong way, and there's a way I can stuff this up, and there's a way that I hit success. And that just doesn't exist in my experience. Like, there is there's literally nothing you can do that's gonna stuff everything up, you know, it's just not as permanent as our brains want to make it all be.
SPEAKER_02No, not at all. And everything, you know, I've had so many things that have not turned out in my business the way I wanted them to. Totally. But like the the only way to stay in business is to get over that, like process it, feel it, integrate it, and then keep going.
SPEAKER_01Going.
SPEAKER_02Obviously, yeah. Yeah, not at the expense of like, you know, you've got to eat and be able to pay for it. Yes. But just it's just part, it's it's completely just part of it. Yeah. And I always say, you know, there's like the resilience and resourcefulness are like the two most, two of the most important ingredients in entrepreneurship. Like just I mean in life, anyway, as well. But like you're I remember when I was growing my business in the first few years, I just would always say to myself, I'm so resilient, I can do anything in my business. I am so resourced, and that's an inner resourcefulness. But also, if I can't do something, I either have the resilience to do it or I will find the resources to figure it out. Someone yeah, to figure it out to get to help me never stuck and everything will get worked out.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. Literally, that I think that's the only reason why I was successful too, is because I am so stubborn as well. Yeah. And like just having that belief that of course, of course, you can figure it out. Like everything is like something. There's always a solution, there's always a creative solution available to everything. Yeah, I love that. I love that so much. Thank you. Um, again, you brought up the same thing and it keeps escaping me that I really wanted to talk a little bit deeper on. We're talking about resources, intuition, that inner trust. What do you when you kind of look at your own journey? Um, does it feel like how do you kind of navigate those chapters? Because it sounds like I don't know if you've noticed this too. I've definitely personally felt this, but I feel like so much, I feel like everything is universal in so many ways because we're all connected, right? I feel like there's so much that is shifting not only in entrepreneurship, but in the world and how people are, I really feel, being called to share their gifts even brighter and overcome so much of what's kept them stuck, whether that's the patterns, the beliefs, the energetics of that. Um maybe you've experienced that too, but what would you what would you kind of love to share around that in terms of what can people use as a guiding light? Or what is a great tool to kind of lean into to kind of guide through any kind of transitional time too?
SPEAKER_02I really so the journaling I love to do, but I love to write like connect with my future self. Yeah. And one of my favorite exercises or activities is actually inspired by um uh her name's Alexandra Fronsen.
SPEAKER_03She's a writer, she is American, I think she lives in Hawaii now.
SPEAKER_02And she I met her years ago, 2014. I went to one of her writers' workshops.
SPEAKER_00Oh, cool.
SPEAKER_02And I actually won my book deal from the workshop that I went to the week after hers because her workshop helped me imbue the confidence within myself to say, I'm a writer. I've always written, I'm a writer. And then I went to this hey house writers workshop. So it was genuinely life changing. And she, if like I would say a few months ago, she sent out this email about the hundred day letter, which had been inspired by a friend of hers. I can't remember that person's name. And it's not a it's not an original concept. It's just the concept that you write a letter to like from yourself as if you were 100 days in the future. I love that. So you choose a day, whatever today is. So it's you know three months into the future, 100 days into the future. Um, I get really specific. So I go to Google, I'm like, tell me exactly what's 100 days from today. So I want to know what the date is. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I write scroll after my own heart. I know what that's like.
SPEAKER_02Covering professionists. So I open my journal. And I will write that date, and I'll be like, oh, the last 100 days have been magnificent. I love it. I write everything that happened. I'm like, and let's say I did this over the for the summer, which I I kind of did actually. Oh my god, I did it in December. Oh November. I need to find that because I'm not dating. I've done it twice in the last year. I love it. Which sounds like I should have done it more, but I've done it twice. No. And both definitely the first time, almost everything came true. I love it. My crypto portfolio did not grow the way I wanted it to. But that's everything else was better was good. Look, it's a long-term thing. It's fine. Yeah. We're fine. We're good. And so you write and you're like, this is what's happened. This is what I did, you know. And I'm so I surprised myself with this. And I'm doing this. And this is what happened at work. And this is what happened at home. And if there's relationship stuff, if there's stuff with kids or friends, or you write about what's been resolved, what's been completed, what's been received, or up leveled, or what's shifted for the best. But you get, it doesn't have to be long. Like it's a page or two. But the kicker is you read it every single day for 100 days. Yes. I love it. And I'll say daily-ish, because there were definitely days I did not read it. And you know, I just forgot that I wrote one last year. So I've not read that for ages. But you you write it from your future self to your past self with everything that's happened.
unknownI love it.
SPEAKER_02And then you let go of the how and you release the energy around the letter. So that's surrender, releasing what's in your power. I wrote this, I connected to my future self. This is already done. It's this or something better. And then you just get to living, get back to living, but you read that letter every day. And that is one of my favorite things to do when I'm going through a hard time. The other, excuse me while I just shuffle over to get this book. Hold on. Oh, yeah, no, I'm here for it. I love it when there's a book nearby. I'm gonna, I'm gonna just like pull up this book because my second book, It's All Good. I wrote when I was in a real, well, at the end of a hard time, a really hard time. And the whole book is about how to navigate, like how to step back into trust and how to navigate when things are feeling really hard, and when you feel like you've lost trust in yourself, when you feel like you just need to forgive yourself over and over and over and over and over and over and over again for something. And so there's so much in there that I still go back to to help me surrender to the bigger plan, trust in the or something better, like really just trust that accepting where it's like what I said before, like really tapping into the what was, not the what if. This is what was, and I don't have to hurt myself by saying in that, but there is acceptance there, and I don't have to always look for the silver lining immediately, but I can know that there I can create something good out of this, or even if this hurt me, the alternative would have been worse for me. Like this is the better alternative, absolutely in whatever way, shape, or form. And so, but I I truly think like tapping into the future, future self, and I also love to do some NLP processes. If there is something hard that you're moving through, either, I mean, this could be something in the past that you've moved through or a future situation that you're worried about. I love to do a bit of a process on my timeline where I can there like something happened in the like in the recent history where if I think about that time in my life, on in in my memory, it's like quite a dark, like the picture of it is all really dark. So one thing that you can do is rise above that picture, that mental image. I I I you can brighten it if you want. Bright often feels less scary, dark can feel a bit doom and gloom and all that, but you might it might not feel good to brighten it. You might be like, you know what, it needs to stay as it is. There is something there. But what I am gonna do, I'm gonna make it smaller, and I'm gonna move it further back. And then I like to brighten the the energy between that situation and up to me now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So in the gap.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02And I move it back further away, further, further, further, and then I come back into the present moment, put myself back in the present moment, and I can take a different breath in and out. And I may have to do that again. Not yes, not always and not often, but I may have to. Or if there's something in the future that you're worried about, tap into it if you want to make it smaller, or you might need to make it bigger, you might need to make it brighter, you might need to. There's so many ways that we can like NLP it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But I love to play with the mental and somatic um NLP and kinesiology processes that I that I have in my toolkit so that when I think about the thing that has been stressful, my immediate response shifts without needing to consciously then like close the loop or change the pattern. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like do all the much more arduous work of that reprogramming in different ways. Yeah, I love that. I love that you brought up that first, the first one specifically, too. I love all of them, but the first one because that reminded me of a practice that I used to do all of the time and I haven't done it for ages, where it's pretty much the exact same thing, except instead of writing it, you speak it out verbally and you talk that out daily. And you, you know, I remember me and a couple of friends would do this where we would send little voice notes back to each other for, you know, I can't remember the time period, but it wasn't as specific as that time period. But I remember doing that in the very beginning when I transitioned from nutrition into um more coaching, and that was game changing for me because it just is so effective with changing the immediate story that you tell yourself around it. So thank you for the written version of that. That's amazing. Yes, pleasure. I love it. Thank you. Oh my gosh, I could talk to you forever, but I want to be conscious of our time. So please tell us what you've got going on at the moment, where people can find you, all of those beautiful things.
SPEAKER_02Amazing. Thanks. So I recently launched uh a new free tapping course for fans. Yeah, it's called Tapping Into Enoughness. And I take you through the top five, I shouldn't say top, but like the core beliefs that I see in my clients over like the decade plus working with women who where there's comparison or not enoughness or perfectionism. So things like I should be further ahead, or everyone knows more than me. And then I unpack each belief in the video, but we do tapping through the whole session, and there's a little bit of mindset coaching uh in there as well. And so that is super fun. And I've just launched that, and I'm about to launch a new membership, an energy balancing membership that's been, I want to say in the works, but not consciously or practically in the works for ages, but it's just been something that I've known will be here, and now is the perfect time. So I'm currently in wait listing mode, and that will launch at the end of this month for a March start, which I'm so excited about. So I've been mapping out there'll be a course within the membership, and then there'll be um a combination of live coaching and clearing calls as well as pre-recorded drops that uh include the tapping and card readings and belief balance work and the kinesiology and all of that. So I've been working on that as the majority kind of work that I'm doing right now, and then I've so you I mean the best place to find me is Instagram at Cassie Mendoza Jones and my website, Cassimendozajones.com. And I've got my YouTube channel, podcast, coaching. So it's I've got both like the one-on-one reframe session, which is a combination of tapping, kinesiology, and NLP, and also my business alignment coaching. Uh, I've got a mastermind that I run twice a year, and also private coaching for business coaching as well.
SPEAKER_01Amazing. We will make sure those are included in the space below in the show notes. Thank you so much for having me. It was such a good chat. It's such a good chat. Oh, actually, do you want to do a card reading now? Yeah. You do it before we close out. Let's do it. Because I'm sure everyone will want to see this too.
SPEAKER_02All right. So this is my deck, Billy Fallons deck. I did a couple print runs of this. I I first printed them, I think it was 2022, which sounds absolutely nuts. 2022, 2023. I can't remember. Yeah. Um, and there I am working on a digital deck. Oh, cool. Yes. I'm deciding. Well, no one's heard this yet, so I'll tell you, but and then everyone has listening. I'm I it'll be, oh, there you go. It'll be in the um, it'll be in the membership. So there'll be you'll be able to pull cards in the membership. So I've just pulled two cards for us. If I was doing this with a client, there would have been a goal or an intention at the beginning to set, but this is what I pulled, which I still think is so so perfect. So nourishing and full. And it's in both the earth energies and fire. So it's very much like where where are you for? Let's go this way, actually. What is helping you feel really nourished with what how you're showing up and what you're doing, and also the thoughts that you are thinking and the beliefs that you are believing and how you're showing up for yourself, and then it will lead into so when they come out together. I love to look at the story. You're filling yourself with either thoughts that are really nourishing you and your growth and your expansion, or you're filling yourself with thoughts that are not nourishing you. And that's not to bypass or gaslight you, like sometimes it's just really hard. You're having a hard day, I guess. But you're it's always, as we said, within your power to shift the thought, shift the energy. You don't have to go from zero to a hundred, you can go from zero to one percent belief, one percent energy. The tiniest shift, a walk around the block, cold water on your face, just sitting, just sit on the floor. No podcast, no music, no phone, no TV. Just sit and breathe. One tapping round will shift like what can you do to create more nourishing thoughts, energies, and energy field to that you there's a fullness there for you that you can always tap into, not about control, but within your power. And so it just feels perfect for what we've spoken about. I love it. That feels so perfect. Yeah. So those are my cards, and they come with not that they're for sale in like physical right now, but a beautiful um guidebook that I wrote.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love that.
SPEAKER_02Uh, with every card. Oh, there was something that I saw I need to fix in the reprint. Uh but yeah, I explained how to do a balance on yourself using the cards.
SPEAKER_01I love that. That's so cool. Thank you so much for that reading. So beautiful. I'm sure that's gonna resonate. That resonated for me. I'm sure that's gonna resonate with so many people listening too. Amazing. Thank you so much for having me. Thank you for being here. Speak to you soon. If this episode landed, it would mean the world to me. If you shared it on IG, don't forget to tag me, and left a review on Apple Pod so we can spread this message far and wide.
