Well, hello. Welcome back to Coaching for Coaches. My name is Denise Walsh. It's been a minute since I've had a chance to record. And I think that that is the beauty of having your own business, is that when life happens, you can take it on, right? My sister and her family have been in town. They're in town for another week. But I wanted to come and connect with you today because our workbooks are now fully in stock and everything has shipped. So if you are a new client, welcome. I hope you love your workbook and that you're you've probably already got it and you're starting to go through it. Now, why did I create the Dream Life workbook? It's right there in the white behind me. Because I myself have used the exercises throughout it. I have been through several pivots in my life. And I know that as women, we go through pivots and transitions every few years. You know, you're in school and then it's transitioning to work and then kids and then young kids. And as they age, like we our needs are different, our time is different. What our family needs changes. Like things change even more than, in my opinion, a man's schedule, I think, can often stay the same. Whereas a woman's schedule, and of course, not all the time, but I do feel like we go through more transitions, more uh, more questions about what do we want next, potentially, than men do. Just a thought, just a thought. Um, so I want to talk through what does a pivot mean and the power of a pivot, because what it's telling us is that you're like, all right, I'm ready for my next thing, you know, like this isn't it. And when people come into the dream life community, this is what they're feeling: this restlessness of this isn't it. I'm ready for growth. Because as humans, we are designed to grow, right? We want stability and we want growth. And if we have uh like we need a balance of both. And so sometimes we can be like and running the, you know, our job's fine, our marriage is fine, maybe you're in a business and it's fine, your health is okay, you're in the same kind of, you know, rabbit race, you're in that rabbit reel or um hamster wheel. But you're ready for something new. Something inside of you knows that there has to be more. And so today, while we talk through the power of this pivot, it's not because something is wrong with you, it's because growth requires change. And every person who has built a life they love has learned one critical skill: the ability to pivot. I'm gonna say that again. The ability to pivot. Because what we don't want, and what I know I have am guilty of this, I know clients are guilty of this, where we kind of spend time in this wishy-washy land for far too long. So let's first talk about what is a pivot, because a lot of people think that a pivot means blowing up your life, you know, absolutely quitting your job, finding something new, moving across the industry, um, starting from like starting a business and burning everything to the ground. And sometimes it does. But more often, a pivot is simply a conscious decision to stop going in one direction and start moving in another. That's it. It's a it's a pivot, it's an adjustment, it's a course correction, it's that 1% shift that is actually taking you somewhere new, but doesn't feel all new. Because guess what? If it felt all new, you wouldn't, we wouldn't do it, you know. Uh, think about a GPS. When you miss a turn, the GPS doesn't scream, you failed. You, you know, you didn't listen. It simply recalibrates. Yeah, when life asks us to recalibrate, which is that restlessness that we often feel, we panic. You know, we make that pivot mean that we're not good enough, or we should have known better, or we wasted time, or we made a wrong choice, or we shoulda, coulda, woulda done something different, you know. But what if that pivot isn't proof that you're lost? In fact, what if that pivot is proof that you're paying attention? Because we don't pivot, we don't have this restless feeling for no reason. We pivot because guess what? Who you were at 25 is not who you are at 45. Because what excited you 10 years ago may not excite you today. That's okay. Growth changes you, experience changes you, wisdom teaches you. Sometimes a door closes that you never would have closed yourself. And now it's time to say, all right, now what? Because your your soul has a way of saying, There's more, there's more, you're not done yet. And that's what we're talking about. The pivot isn't a sign that you were in the wrong direction. The pivot is a sign that you're ready for expansion. And that's why I believe listening to your pivot is actually a really important part of life's process. So in dream life coaching, we talk about this alignment, right? Where our head, do we know what we want? Do we believe it's possible? Do you know how to take action towards that goal? And a pivot, a pivot begins when we're out of alignment. Maybe you don't really know what you want. I have often people tell me, don't really know what I want. I just know I don't want this, you know, or your heart has lost belief, or it's been betrayed and it's hurt, you know, and you don't really believe in that change is possible or that you can get out of debt and you're just like, wow, you feel this blah feeling. Or maybe your feet have stopped moving, you've stopped learning new skills, you've stopped learning what it takes to experience success in your business or your relationship. This pivot is an invitation back into that alignment. So when life changes, when that relationship ends, when kids leave home and the business shifts, we've got two options, right? We can number one sink, which basically just means we stay in this what I call world of drama, where it's this like, why me? This isn't fair, I don't really know what to do, I feel stuck, like that kind of stuff, right? We're in we have that spinning of the wheels. And often when we're living in this world of drama, I'm not saying you're in drama, I'm saying this world of kind of confusion, maybe some chaos, this world of, you know, nothing works, and I don't, you know, I don't know what to do. And it's just we're in chaos. We can stay stuck in the past, right? We replay the past. What if I'd done this? What if I'd done that? What if this was different? What if, what if, what if, what if, or I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, which are two signs that we're in that stinking thinking mode. We can wait for motivation. We can blame our circumstances, we can focus on what was lost, on what we maybe didn't create or didn't do. And we can sit there. I'm sure we all have done it. Sitting there is a part of life, but what we don't want to do is sit there too long because feeling in this drama can feel satisfactory, like we're putting blame for what where we are or what we want on something else, like it's totally not our fault, and that can feel good, but it's not productive and it doesn't create anything, and it keeps us spinning our wheels. So the second option is instead of sinking, let's soar. So the second option to ask is all right, given where I am today, what do I want now? And guys, this is this is probably changed. It's not five years ago, not what your parents wanted, not what society wanted, not what looks good on social media. What do you want now? People who soar through pivots aren't fearless, they're simply willing to look forward before they have all the answers. We actually did a retreat on SOR a couple years ago. And we had, you know, whenever we have dream life adventures, we have a theme and a theme song, and like all the theme content is all woven together with this theme, the gifts, all that stuff. And this one was about eagles. Eagles don't resist the storm, they use it. Well, other birds seek shelter, eagles rise higher, and that same wind that pushes one bird down uplifts another. The difference isn't the storm, it's how they respond to it. Did you know that um like the opposite we in in our in the retreat? The opposite of an eagle we said was a chicken, and like a chicken's a bird and it can fly, just doesn't even re realize it. Just staring at the ground one one like peck at a time. Whereas an eagle can see miles, it has massive vision, you know, it can see it can see miles in all directions, and like that little fish in the water. It's fascinating. And what we want to do is we want to get our head out of like what's right in front of us. They say, right, we want to see the forest for the trees. We want to take take our head out of chicken brain. It's that a thing, where we're looking straight ahead and we want to see like the eagle. We want to see the big picture, we want to see for miles, and then we can hone in on that one specific thing that we want next. So let's start asking ourselves the right questions. What lights you up? What do you really want your day to look like? If you could identify your dream day, your dream business day, a thriving business or a career you love, what would it be? How do you want to spend your time? Tell me about like your family or your business or your health or you know what hobbies do you have? Do you crochet? Do you do triathlons? What is it? What is the thing that you keep coming back to? What is the thing that you would talk about for free because you lose track of time, because it lights you up? That spark, you guys, leaves clues. So let's ask ourselves this. All right, knowing what I know now, what are some ways I want to spend my time? Maybe you can even ask what frustrates you in this world, right? What breaks your heart? What is this holy discontent that you go, mm-mm? Like this is not happening. This is not, this is not where we're gonna go, you know? And on the flip side of that, what excites you? What do people naturally ask you to help with? And what would you do if success was guaranteed? Oh, this is a good one. What would you do if success was guaranteed? Your spark is often hiding in all of those answers. So, as most of you know, if you've been following my content for a while, you know that one of my earliest sparks came while working with foster kids in New York City as a camp counselor. You know, when I when the kids came off the bus, their heads were down, their guard was up, they were withdrawn, unsure of themselves, often seeing themselves through the lens of their trauma, you know. But I I didn't know them. I was seeing them through the lens of possibility. Over time, I saw them come alive. I saw those possibilities in them before they even saw them in themselves. And that experience planted a seed, a spark that became a calling. And eventually that spark led me into psychology, coaching, leadership, and helping thousands of people step into the lives they love. But the spark came first, the path revealed itself later. So most people think once I know exactly what I'm supposed to do, then I'll start. But the reality is it's it works the other way around. Action creates clarity. So you don't discover your purpose sitting on the couch, you don't discover it by sitting in your office by yourself. You discover it by doing. So this is where most people get stuck. And I think this is where the workbook for those that purchased get like they get so much out of it, or those in 90-day U-turn get so much out of it because it's not just a head game, you know, this is an action game. So people often get stuck because they don't know what they want, they haven't decided what they want to do. They say, I don't want this job, I've got the stress, I don't want this relationship, I don't want to feel this way, but they haven't actually given themselves the destination. The brain cannot move towards a destination that you haven't chosen. This is where we talk about your subconscious being like a GPS, you know. If you get in the car and don't set your GPS, guess where you're probably gonna go? A little bit of nowhere. Spinning your wheels, going around the block. Um, no, we want to set our internal GPS just like we set our GPS in our car. We don't want to wander. We want to give it a destination. You're beginning. So as you like decide, and I think that's the step one is decide. And you can pivot. Um, some things that stop people from deciding is feeling like, well, what if I don't want to do this in eight years? What if 10 years later I don't want to do this program? You can always shift, guys. Like you're allowed. But we need to decide something and then pivot along the way. We do a lot of this kind of work in 90-day U-turn, vision casting, really asking ourselves and creating a space to talk through these questions and give ourselves these answers and hear from other people because that can be really inspiring when you're hearing what other people want to do and what's motivating to them. You're like, oh, I haven't thought about that in a while. How fun. Yeah. So once we decide that destination, again, three steps out, not 10, not 20, three steps out, it's possible, it's believable, there's hope that it's possible, right? Your beginning, your brain begins to look for opportunities, resources, people, and solutions. This is one reason that we love vision boards, that we love goal setting, and that this intentional dreaming and speaking life works so well. Not because it's magic, but because they create that focus, you know, and that focus, then we can reverse engineer and kind of figure out what we want next. One of the biggest shifts that people in dream life community and clients and even working through the workbook, they one of the biggest shifts people make is they go from this reactive living to like moving through life with whatever life throws at you, to intentional living. Where instead of saying, let's see what happens, intentional living says, here is where I'm going. Even if you don't know every step, even if you're scared, and even if you don't have all the answers. Because that's how it works. You won't know every step, you'll probably be scared, you won't have all the answers, but you'll have that destination in your mind and in your heart, and you'll start taking steps through it. Your dream life isn't about waiting for your dream, it's about that decision. It's about saying, this is the life that I want to create. And I recommend starting small. You know, I've if you've are just in this restless phase, maybe start with your health. That's something you can control. You can um go to the gym, you can go for walks with friends, like you can put things on your calendar that help you meet and reach that goal. Maybe it's for your business. You want to find a way to generate leads, figure out, you know, like what is it that you want? You don't have to change everything at once, all the time, right? Pick one thing that feels doable and start there. And now you date you turn. We really work to align your dream or your dream life pathway, which is your head, heart, feet, towards that one singular vision that creates momentum in your life, which is why so much change happens in just three months. So much healing happens in just three months because you get support in making that decision. Guess what? If it were easy, you'd already be there. You get support in making that decision. You get support in doing daily and weekly actions to get you there. You believe that it's possible. You uh we do forgiveness work to release all that junk that's been holding us back, that betrayal, that hurt, that disappointment, right? Like it's there. Life has been lived, and we want to release ourselves from that while supporting you and learning the skills to hit your goals. We are gonna be doing a free workshop in just a few weeks all about the dream life pathway and how the dream life pathway will help you to create momentum in your life. It does a few things. It helps rewire your subconscious programming, it helps rewire the automatic thinking that's going on in your brain, whether we like it or not, and it helps you to gain clarity for what it is you want next. All things that people going through their pivot need support with. So if you are in your pivot right now, be sure to stay tuned for the live event I'll be hosting in just a few weeks. My sister's in town for one more week. So after the fourth, I will um put it in, well, you'll see it in the events tab in the Dream Life community. But you will uh want to register for that live event. Uh, the doors will be opening to 90-day U-turn itself, which is my 12-week overcoming self-sabotage program. I call it a loving kick in the right direction, as well as the coaching program, because I find that a lot of people want to give back and add value to their clients in a new way. They they work with people already, or they have a desire to start their own coaching business. And so as a dream life coach, we support you with creating funnels and creating freebies and the tech side of the business and creating your program. Like you learn the content, but then we don't stop there. We do have a business side that helps you with all the business stuff, right? So if you're in a pivot right now, you're in the right place because what we do here is to help you like make that 1% shift in order to take steps out of it. Be sure to put all of those dates in the calendar when they're posted and join us live. I want you to hear this. You're not broken, you're not behind, you're not lost. You're simply standing at the edge of your next chapter. The pivot is not the problem. In fact, there's power in the pivot, and it actually means you're listening. The pivot is the invitation. The invitation to reconnect with your spark, an invitation to decide what you want, an invitation to stop living by default and start living by design. Because the women who create extraordinary lives aren't the women who avoid pivots. Right? They're the women who embrace them, who actually listen to it, trust the process, who align their head, heart, and feet, and choose to build a life that looks as good or that feels as good as it looks. I don't know where you are, but my guess is you're here because you're ready for that next step. And we are about to give it to you. So be sure to um join us for the live event coming in just a few weeks and consider either joining us in the Dream Life Certification program where you can become a coach and learn skills to actually coach others. Or if you like I need a lovem kick in the right direction, then join us as a client in 90 Day U-turn. We'd love to have you. Uh the signups will be in July, and we will start the cohort in August. Have an awesome day, you guys. Thank you so much for being here. I can't wait to see your experience with the with the workbook and the journals for those who have purchased them. They should be arriving to you if you probably got it. If not, any day now. Um, have an awesome week and we'll see you guys same time, same place next week.
unknownBye.
