SPEAKER_02

Welcome, welcome back to Coaching for Coaches. My name is Denise Walsh, and I am here with two of my current clients who are working through 90-day U-turn. We are almost done. And they are here to share with you their personal experience on like why they decided to hop in, their transformation throughout the past three to six months, and like what life looks like now, right? After going through the content and working through the exercises. I say 90-day U-turn is a loving kick in the right direction. So most people are not starting in 90-day U-turn with everything at a 10. You know what I mean? Most people uh decide that, like, all right, enough's enough. I need something. I need to fill my spirit, I need to relight my spark, and I can't don't want to do it alone. And they say yes. And so I'm excited to hear from them because I think so many of us, all of us, humans, go through pivot points and transitions and ups and downs throughout our lives. And we need community and a roadmap to help us kind of get out of the pit sometimes. Uh, and so I love the space because that's exactly what we do. We help you kind of get out of that pit, get back on track, and create a life that you love. So thank you to the podcast. We have Ladeen at Emission. Welcome.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

And we have Erica. Erica will touch base with you in a minute. Ladeen, I do want to start with you because you not only said yes to 90-day U-turn, you said yes to the certification program because you were like, I want to not only learn these skills and exercises for myself, but I also want to add value in a new way. So before we talk about why you made that leap, I'd love to hear a bit more on how you found us, what was life like before 90-day U-turn, and we'll start there.

SPEAKER_00

So I started off with finding the workbook. And I, you know, started going through it. It was the first of the year. I got it around, you know, Christmas time. And I was looking at actually a set of pivot point in my life where I want to retire from a job I've been in for 39 years and just couldn't figure out how to do it, what was next. It was just like this big mystery. And uh, so I was starting to go through the workbook, and at one point I saw her website. So I thought, well, I'm gonna go look, check out her website. I'm gonna got on the website because there's something it said about there's some affirmation cards or something on the website. I think that's what it was. So I went to the website to find that resource, and right on the front page it said, You want to become a dream life coach? Already had coaching certifications and already working in different things, coaching, but just never really found my niche. It just always felt like I was just dabbling and not doing it seriously enough. So um I set up a call with Denise, and um, on the call we talked first about like where my life was at, and then we talked about it joining the certification program. So it kind of just folded into itself to go through 90-day U-turn as a client to get clarity on what I wanted, and then to step into the certification program for the next round to be your support coach and do some one-on-ones with the clients that were in that um cohort.

SPEAKER_02

So back in January, let's like picture Christmas time. You're scrolling on Facebook and you're just like, What are you feeling back at Christmas?

SPEAKER_00

Just kind of looking, you know, the way you scroll on Facebook, not really seeing anything, it just jumped out at me dream life. And I'm thinking, Yeah, I want to dream life. I don't want to just like let life happen to me. You know, I've been in the same job for a long time, and like what am I gonna do now? And so I ordered the book, figuring, well, you know, we order books all the time. So, you know, so I just ordered the book and thought I'd see what it was about. And it really changed everything.

SPEAKER_02

It lit your spark, didn't it?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it did.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I've had people tell me that they go through the workbook like chapter by I mean, obviously chapter by chapter, but like they really spend time with each chapter and read through it and do the exercises, and it does, it shifts something on the inside out. And so you were like, all right, not only do I know what I want to do in retirement, like I'm gonna start creating it now. You don't need to say, oh, when I retire, then, you know, you were like, I am going to prepare. So when I retire, it feels like a seamless transition, and I already have things up and running.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Well, Erica, we'll move to you. I want to hear from you. Uh, you also came in from the workbook, and so you started there. And I'd love to hear a bit about what you were feeling and experiencing before the workbook and why you decided to purchase it.

SPEAKER_01

So, like Ladine, the dream life part jumped out to me and I thought, wow, this looks very doable. Just was curious and wanted to know more. And as I dug into the material, I somewhere along the way saw that 90-day U-turn was an option with the coaching and the community aspect and just more support. And that just really appealed to me. I was in a season where it had been a time of transition for my family. We had recently moved and I'd had some health issues and was kind of coming out of that. So I just felt very stuck where I was at, knew that I didn't want to be there anymore, and was overwhelmed with what to tackle first and how to get to a place that sounded more like a dream life.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Both of you have said something like, Ladeen, you used the word mystery. Like I want this, but it feels like the how feels like a big dark tunnel. Like I don't know how to get there. I don't even really know what I want. It feels like a big mystery, like walking in the dark. And then Erica, you said uh, you know, you were at this transition, but everything felt um heavy, maybe more like a mountain to climb, where it felt like overwhelming. And what I love about this work is that we can take that big mountain and turn it into those small steps. So you start to see progress. And all of a sudden, that big mountain doesn't feel so big and heavy anymore. And so, Erica, you stepped in as a 90-day U-turn client, which is a 12-week overcoming self-sabotage program where we teach the dream life pathway head, heart, feet. Do you know what you want? Do you believe it's possible? Do you know how to go get it? Uh, and so Erica, I'll start with you. What was your, like, tell me about your experience throughout the program? Did you have any favorite weeks? What were your favorite aha moments, favorite exercises?

SPEAKER_01

I think just the process of gaining so much clarity initially was so helpful. Working through the exercises and the pacing of it really allowed me to see things that I wasn't seeing before, to slow down enough to figure out what those first steps looked like. And um, several weeks into the program, there was a significant reconciliation in my life that was brought about in part through the material that um we were working through. So that was my first big turning point. I think that was around um week five or six. And the material of week six was one of the things we did was writing a letter from our future selves and putting that down on paper of what I really wanted life to look like, what I could imagine myself looking back and thanking myself for was just huge for me to um continue getting that clarity about what I was working towards with my specific goals. And then moving on to week eight, I believe um, just processing grief and looking back at that hard season that I had been in and what I was believing about myself through that time and what was true and where I wanted to go as a result of all of that, um, was probably one of the most total moments of the program for me.

SPEAKER_02

So clarity is a huge piece of the first half, right? What do I really want? Because oftentimes people will say, I don't know what I want. I just not this. And so we do work through like, all right, if it were my dream day, if everything were a 10, like what do I really, really, really want? What's the most important thing to me? And I've done this work for a long time. These are exercises that I've done again and again and again. And I've seen that how show up in my own life. So I have complete confidence and belief in these exercises. And so clarity for you came into just think like imagining the peace that you want in your home and uh the fun and having friends over and having beautiful spaces to entertain in. And then that gets you excited. You know, once you have that clarity, it kind of lights your spark and you're excited to move forward. Um, but I often say that weeks seven, eight, and nine are like the pivot point of the program because this is where the healing happens. You know, this is where we release those onion layers of the guilt or shame or grief or the hard stuff that's happened. And then once we've released that, you know, the what is it, the break, reverse break, the what is it called when you break the emergency break. When you have your emergency break on, you can't go, like even if you try, right? You're not gonna go. But if you release the break, you'll start moving. And so in week seven, eight, and nine, where we really release those limiting beliefs, release those emotions. We work through some of the hard stuff. Like things start to get easier. So we'll talk about your progress because I know you made a ton of progress over the coming weeks, but I want to hear from Ledeen about your favorite exercises. Now, you get to go through it twice because you're in the certification program. So the first round, it's like free, you know? And the reason why we do that is because I don't want you to just read a book and go do it with clients. I want you to experience it so then you have confidence that it's the best thing since sliced bread, you know? So you have your own shifts and your own experience, but then you get to go through it again. And the second time you are working with clients and you're seeing their aha moments. It's really fun to see the growth throughout the weeks. So your first round of 90-day U-turn, you have no idea what to expect. Tell me a little bit about your favorite weeks, aha moments, etc.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think that one of the things that I liked was that you kind of looked at your the different aspects of your life, not just this big thing. It's like we're gonna look at different things, we're gonna look at your friendships, we're gonna look at your dream, you know, business, we're gonna look at your current relationships and and all these things like that. I really liked getting into those exercises where I actually looked at those things in my life and said, Do I do I really want do I really want to make connections with friends? And and so, you know, I I I'm like one of these people that once I get told something, I just do it. I'm I'm just an action person. So, you know, the first thing I did was realize we did have friendships that I I valued that I hadn't really put any effort into in a long time because I worked so many hours. So I reached out to one of my close friends who was really thrilled to hear from me. We've had lunch a few times and just reconnected, and that just felt like such a wonderful thing. And um, you know, and I thought I had to do this one thing to start retirement, and I just I just totally scrapped it and went a totally different direction because this thing started revealing itself to me. I realized that I didn't have to do what I didn't want to do.

SPEAKER_02

Isn't that interesting? Like you do have choices, right? Like you can't, there's multiple ways to get there. And so instead of the grind way, you chose a different way.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I think the uh one of my favorite lessons was the one on speaking, you know, what you tell yourself and speaking life over your life and and just creating those those uh you know meditations or affirmations of what you really want in your life. And I used to do that and I had stopped doing it. So it was kind of re-scarped something in me that I had done before where it helped me make progress because when we speak things, our our mind wants to make it happen, especially when we talk about it if it's already happened, which is I loved Erica talking about the letter to your future self or your future self writing a letter to you now, and all the things are accomplished that you set out to do. And to read that just felt like, yeah, this is the life I want.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So it was it's been just a really great experience, and going through it again kind of just solidified a lot of those ideas and and really changed actually some of the things again as I'm going through it the second time. I made some shifts in different areas.

SPEAKER_02

I it's it's funny. I sometimes people will say the first round can feel like a fire hose. Um, and then the second round they really implement and like it becomes who they be, you know what I mean? Um, because you're doing it habitually enough to actually retrain your nervous system, to retrain your automatic thoughts, to create those new habits. But so you you started uh hanging out with some old friends again. Um, I know you implemented some fun time with your grandchildren. Can you tell us a little bit about the things you planned because of the spark within 90 days?

SPEAKER_00

Well, there were some little things I always wanted to do, like sew. I mean, I can sew, but like I wanted to be more, I wanted to make quilts because my mother was a quilt maker, and I didn't realize that I really still wanted that until I went through a 90-day U-turn. So I signed up for a quilting class and um went to this class, and I really loved the little craft store that was doing these um sewing classes, but they actually had a um a camp for kids, sewing camp for kids during the April break. So I signed my granddaughter up. So my granddaughter and I went to a sewing camp for the week, and on the last day, the teacher let her bring her little sister, who was so sad not to be there. But it was so much fun seeing the girls like you know, at the sewing machine and sewing and engaging with other kids their own age and really just loving that and to be able to be present with them while they did that and to facilitate that. Yeah. Yeah, wonderful.

SPEAKER_02

Sometimes it's hard for me to describe the outcome of 90-day U-turn because hanging out with friends and meeting for lunch, going, you know, signing up for a quilting class yourself and then sharing that with your grandchildren, now having a hobby together. Like those are things that are hard to, they're not tangible. Like they bring joy into your life, they add value into your life, and it makes everything better. So I'm like, 90-day U-turn helps with everything. So it's hard to like pinpoint the thing, right? But it's all these dreams that have been buried because we're sad or life happens or busy or we're distracted, or you know, like, and it gives the space for them to pop up. Now, you also had a dream. I don't know if it was buried or if this was new, and you're now planning a whole family trip around it. Can you tell us a bit about that?

SPEAKER_00

Well, my son-in-law said the they went to Kentucky a few years ago and they went to the ARC encounter and they just loved Kentucky and thought it was so wonderful. And, you know, they started talking about moving out of we live in upstate New York, moving out of New York State where it's it's so cold all the time and moving to a warmer place. And I was just like, Yeah, that'll never happen. We're never really gonna do that. And then when I went through 90-day U-turn, um, I actually got on the bandwagon. So I did all this research and then went to both of my daughters who have are married and have families of their own and said, Hey, what if we moved as a family to somewhere south? And I did some research and found that Kentucky had more of the values that our family has. So I said, What if we take like some scouting trips to Kentucky and start looking at places? And so my younger daughter and her family, or her husband, the kids are gonna stay with their other grandma. So uh the two adult couples are gonna go to Kentucky together in October and spend a week down there scouting out um this one area and seeing if it feels like it could be home. And then uh we're planning to go with my older daughter and her family and bring all the kids with us for a second trip to Kentucky in April of next year. So, you know, it's kind of like I've already got it in my mind that I live in Kentucky.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, your future self is already thanking you.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But you can see how these dreams, like this 1% shift of going, oh my gosh, like Kentucky taxes are way better. It's way warmer. Like, why not? Right. And and you took that sparklit, you took the action of exploring and doing research and talking to, and now I mean, literally that one idea could change, you know, your grandchildren's lives as they grow up in a completely different environment. And I just think that's what it's all about, right? It's about for the it's about these dreams popping up and then taking action and having the community to support you because if it were easy, we already would be there. So to have these exercises to help unearth it and then to have the accountability and the check-ins to say, like, I'm actually following through, I feel like makes such a big difference.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

So, Erica, you had big dreams throughout this program. You had a big goal of like decluttering and unpacking and getting every room, you know, ready, um, which I think felt like a big mountain to climb at the beginning. So tell us a bit about all of the progress you made throughout three months.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I just felt stuck and overwhelmed with my house. And with the move so recent, there were a lot of things that just hadn't really been addressed yet. And I needed to set up systems for how to maintain the space and just manage the day-to-day. I spend my days at home with my four-year-old son. And so just wanting to incorporate, you know, times of fun with him while also having things in the house managed and not such a heavy weight was um just a big part of my goal. And this program just allowed me to break that down and get started. And it didn't need to feel well, I confronted that I am a perfectionist. And so trying to do it perfectly the first time has been a major hurdle for me in the past. And so being able to just try something and experiment with it and make some progress, even if it's not perfect, um, and seeing that that progress was so much better than just trying to get it, you know, exactly a certain way, um, really made a big difference for me and how I was able to tackle some really big projects in my home and go through spaces and get boxes unpacked and just really feel so much more peace in my home environment and cultivate that in particular for my son and our family in the space that we spend so much of our time in.

SPEAKER_02

So, three months ago when we got started, did you actually think you were going to be able to follow through with this with this intention?

SPEAKER_01

I was hopeful because of having looked through the workbook and and seeing all that was involved, but I I really had no idea how I would make it happen. And so I think that's where I was just like, I if it was up to me, you know, I I don't even know how to tackle it. And that's where I felt so stuck. And um yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So it felt like that big mountain, but breaking it down into manageable pieces and realizing it didn't have to be perfect. Um, and and and I think what we say is practice it, right? Like try something, see how it works, evaluate. And then the other thing that we like to do is say, all right, what's the biggest block here? What's really going on? What's the thing that gets in the way? And it can be as silly as like, I never have a good pen. And so writing my grocery list never, you know what I mean? It can be something so easy to fix, but we don't even consider it or think about it. It's just they call it the thorn in the side, where you're like, oh, the vacuum's downstairs and all my carpet's upstairs, you know, and you're like, oh, I guess I can put It somewhere else. So these are the things that we we talk through. That's like, what is the barrier here? Like what and I ideally, what would life look like? Or what would this cleaning situation look like? Schedule look like? And then what's going on? And I think there are just a few tweaks that you tried and you're like, oh wow, this actually does work, or this made it a lot easier. And I didn't have to, you know, wash your mop eight times or whatever the case may be.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You would talk a lot about how our schedule needs to reflect what our vision is and bringing those two things into alignment. Like how we spend, you know, the blocks of time in our day, if it's not lining up with what we want, then we need to make adjustments so that we're achieving, you know, those things. And so your day can be filled with good things, but if they're not the good things that are taking you towards your goal, either you need to change your goal or you need to change what you're doing to bring those things into alignment. And so I think just really thinking through what that meant for me right now in this season with the particular things that I wanted to tackle. What would it look like, you know, for these three months of the program while I was focusing on a specific goal? And what did I want it to look like six months from now when hopefully, you know, my systems are as they are now, much more, you know, up and running and smooth. Um, so that I can be making progress to those things that just seemed so far off at the very beginning of the program.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. We really do take control of our calendar throughout these three months as well. And so there is a lot of inner work, you know, we're gaining that clarity, we're releasing the junk, but we are taking action. And I think that's where the rubber meets the road, where the where things start to really stick. Um, because now you have not just new thought habits, you have new physical habits of this is where the keys go, and I vacuum on Sundays or whatever your system is, right? Uh, you're doing it differently, and that becomes ingrained and it becomes who you be, which makes it easier to then you know have that habit. And then you can add on new if you like. So, one quick question before we dive into the one-on-ones that you and Ladeen had, because as a support coach, Ladeen got to mentor and coach the ladies in the program, and you were one of them. Uh, how much time did 90-day turn, 90-day U-turn take you throughout the week? How did you divvy it up? Because I think sometimes people are like, I'm so busy. I have no time to add one more thing to my plate. And I will argue that the goal is that it gives you energy, not takes it away, right? Um, but I'd love to hear how you managed the whole program within your already busy schedule.

SPEAKER_01

So I like to listen to things like as I'm doing household projects. And so I would often listen to the sessions um initially while I was, you know, doing a chore like folding laundry or washing dishes or something like that, just folding it into a time of day when I would be listening to something anyway. And like you said, the sessions did give me so much energy and I was excited to listen to them. So that definitely helped. And then I would go back with the workbook. I would usually um carve out some time during my son's quiet time in the afternoon and focus on the like either notes from the things that I, you know, wanted to process from what I was hearing, and then doing the exercises and the reflection. Um, I would usually break it up over a couple of different days, just depending on what my week looked like, but it wasn't huge chunks of time. It was folded, you know, into the day-to-day life, 15 minutes here, 30 minutes there, depending on what I wanted to spend time reflecting on or processing. And so that I'm sure could vary by person and and the things that you would be working through, but it was very doable um within you know the day-to-day that I was already doing.

SPEAKER_02

You can add in the weekly lessons into a workout, into your walk, into yeah, in what you're already doing. Um, and then just set spend some time with the journal and the workbook and the exercises. And then, can I tell you, guys, I used to sell like e-courses, and then I was like, nobody's doing them. People buy e-courses all of the time and like never actually do it. And so I thought, we need accountability. And so meeting weekly not only supports the process of healing and progress because you're getting feedback from others, you're talking about it out loud to yourself, you're not just thinking things, but you're writing them down, you're saying them. Um, and it gives you a deadline. So, like, you need to be ready by the weekly meeting so we can all talk about it. Now, to be fair, come anyway. I will always say, come anyway, even if you're not completely finished, because we'll talk through it that night. Um, but that deadline, I think, probably helps with making sure that you get it done throughout the week.

SPEAKER_01

And then there was so much value from having the time to think through it, at least for me personally, how I process, I gained so much value from having gone through everything and given it thought. But then having that accountability of, okay, I am going to be talking about this, you know, at our weekly meeting. And really just the looking forward to the feedback and and hearing um, you know, from one another, that was that was a huge thing for me where I really looked forward to those meetings to be seeing the progress I was making and getting that feedback on it.

SPEAKER_02

The first uh the first meeting we do is like an like an intake session, essentially, where we rate all seven areas of life. We rate the dream life pathway on a scale of one to ten. So you have your starting number, you know? And the biggest feedback I get from week one in the community is I'm not alone. And like, I'm not a loser. Because, you know, sometimes we think, oh, I should be here, I should be doing this, or life's not good enough. And we get to talk and we're like, oh my gosh, we all got something, we all got stuff, nobody's perfect. We all want more out of you know, our life, we want more connection, we we want more purpose, and like they feel just validated, I think, after week one. Like, all right, we're gonna do this together, and I don't have to figure it out on my own, and it's okay. Awesome. Um, well, thank you, Erica. I'll come back to you in just a minute. Uh, Ladeen, you got to do some coaching within this group. And I'd love to hear as a like the coach's experience, you had gone through the content. Now, not only are you supporting within the group, but you're also meeting one-on-one with the clients and supporting their growth, going through different exercises, um, helping deepen the experience within you know this the session. Tell me a little bit about your experience, not only coaching the content, but seeing the transformation in your clients throughout the process.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that was that was really the greatest part with seeing the progress. And um, you make it very simple to coach for you because you know, just from my experiences in the past with coaching programs, you actually say, here are some skills and here are some ways, different things you can use when you do the one-on-one. So it was nice that there was like a template that I could just follow along with, but then to just get into those deeper questions and not answer them for for people, but give them just suggestions and then feel the light come on that I could do that. And and uh Erica was a great example of just how it's just the change from the first time I met with her to the last time, and was just so proud of the the growth and the work that she did, and it just showed through in like everything she did. And it just it was just like I kind of just was so proud of her for like taking out that action and seeing the shift in her life and how this program really did make an impact in her life and in her family's life. It was just a wonderful experience to be a part of that, just a small little part of that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it is. It's I think the aha moments when we see others people come into 90-day U-turn and you know, overwhelmed, overworked, confused, stressed, all the things. And we we have a little taste of what you're gonna go through, right? So we're like, hee hee, we know that growth is gonna happen, your nervous system is gonna calm down, your clarity is gonna come back, you're gonna take new action that's taking you places. Uh, and Ladeen, you get to practice the clinical skills. So a part of the certification program or clinical skills, which is just a ton of different exercises, but also a ton of powerful questions you can ask clients and kind of take them on this journey because a coach does not need to have all the answers, right? A coach creates the space for the answers to bubble up. And uh you did a great job. You're a natural, you can tell you've been working with people for a long time. Um, but it was it's makes coaching easy when you have this roadmap to follow.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So, Eric, and then just the other piece is that when you're going through the certification program, it was wonderful to get your feedback on how to do the coaching and to and get some some different ideas on how to present a question or how to engage with somebody. That was very powerful too. That that's a little piece that you kind of have to remember when you're doing the coaching with Denise. It's not like, here, here's my stuff, just teach it. It's no like, you know, I want to help you get better at being a coach. I want to help you grow your skills. And and having even the Monday night coaching calls was very important too. So it's not just, you know, doing the one-on-one for the group, it's other skills that you're learning along the way that make the certification program such an important thing. If this is the thing you feel like you're being led to do.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, you're right. The feedback, I um love listening to to the sessions. I only ask for three. They're not not everyone, um, but I love listening to them because I hear you asking the same questions I would ask, you know, and I like hear you going through the process. Uh, and it just unlocks so much within within the session. It's fun to see and experience. So, Erica, what about you? Because you, I mean, I love when you commit to something, you commit. You know, you showed up to the community meeting on vacation, uh, you met with Ladeen on a consistent basis, you followed through on the homework that you decided for yourself, right? Uh, how did meeting one-on-one with Ladeen enhance your experience?

SPEAKER_01

I think it gave just an extra support for the specific goals that I was working on and allowed me to go a little deeper into um building out some of those things in my home and in my life. And so it was helpful to just have that space to ask questions or um go through some, you know, additional material that that helped me think through what do I, what do I really want? That's a question we hear a lot in this program, which is you think, oh, that's easy to answer, but the asking it and hearing it so many different ways, especially when you want to change so much, deciding what's most important, what will make the biggest impact, and doing it in a sustainable way to really bring all those things into alignment, definitely made a big difference for me in my ability to, I think, to be successful within the program. So I really appreciated hearing from Ladine, just having her perspective and the time to go a little deeper on some of the material we were covering.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you're right. Because the community group has its pros, right? There's you get feedback from others, you get to hear from like other people's ideas, you're like, ooh, good one. I want that too. Um, but the one-on-ones really help you to go deeper into your own stuff. You know, you can go deeper into your own blocks or deeper into your own in goals and really be clear and specific. Uh, so I definitely think that it elevates the experience because you get a little bit of both, which is really nice. And so Ladeen is now, or our last session is this week. Um, and she will be a certified dream life coach, which means she can take the content and create her own program. She has access to all of these exercises at her fingertips. She can, you know, mad, you know, um, what am I, you know, voila, create her own thing. Um, but she also has the ability to sell 90-day U-turn or to utilize 90-day U-turn and um in with her clients too. So she's doing a little bit of a hybrid. She's taking 90-day U-turn lessons and kind of reorganizing or reshaping them to fit her specific niche and adding a few things uh that were really geared towards her specific ideal client. So, Ledeen, tell us about your program that you're brewing right now.

SPEAKER_00

So I already got the DBA and I already have my bank account. Like Denise takes you through all the steps of building your business. It's not just, oh, here's my material, see you later. So um I already have those pieces done. So next season by design is going to be working with women 50 and older who are going through like major life transitions. And I chose that um as my niche because that was me. You know, I found myself getting divorced from getting a divorce and I never wanted, and I had to kind of figure out my life, you know, as a single mom. And then I got remarried, and you know, that was a whole nother change of life, and multiple miscarriages and then had different infertility issues, and dealing with that type of a loss is really hard to go through and to process. And then I got myself out of crippling debt and um am now debt-free. So there's been a lot of different things in my life, and now the retirement plan, I'm like, now what's next, and not wanting to leave my corporate job because it's been my security for so long, but I also don't want to work for the rest of my life. So when I thought about all those different experiences and things that I've gone through life, I chose to want to work with women who are facing a major transition in their life, whether it's something they chose to do, like write a novel. I always wanted to write a novel, and I finally got published in my 40s, three fiction books, to um I'm I'm facing this divorce that I don't want to go through, or I'm trying to figure out my retirement plan, but I don't know what to do first. So um I want to work with women who are going through those transitions to show them you don't have to let life happen to you. You can design it, you can choose what you want, and you can live intentionally in the life that you want, the dream life that you want. And I'm I'm living proof of that. And I think that that's why I chose that avatar, that client base, because that was me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And you are making it how many weeks? So I'm starting off with a beta group of six weeks. So Denise and I looked at the curriculum, and there were six weeks that I chose to use in that beta group. Um, and so I'm gonna utilize her some of her material, but I'm also um starting to do some branding of my own so that it looks like me. Um, and I think that that's that's been fun to do as well, to kind of come up with my own little logo and things that kind of wrap around next season and um you know, to kind of appeal to the people that are my ideal client.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And you are adding in pieces of your own experience. Uh you're adding in, you know, off the you're bolstering or sh, you know, adding some things to the money mindset lesson. Because in order to retire, you've got to know where you are and you've got to have these kind of this, this uh, you know, figured out or detailed. And so to help people take uh to prepare financially, uh, but also live intentionally and take those actions, I think it's gonna be a really powerful program for people who were just like you, like ready for their next step, but it feels like a mountain, it feels like you're walking in the dark, you don't know what's next, and you're gonna help step by step clarify it for them and give them the tools so they can wrap their head around it and start doing something different.

SPEAKER_00

Be intentional about your life, don't let life just happen to you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and that means being intentional about your finances, that means being intentional about relationship, that means being intentional about our health. Like, if we aren't intentional, guess what? Like we will slip into watching Netflix and eating cookie dough. Like that's just kind of how it goes. It's always easier to do the easy thing. So in order to make change, we want to have our eyes focused on where we want to go instead. Uh, so uh Ladeen has a new free group, you guys. Uh, and she's just building it right now. This is going to be a place where she uh adds value and does challenges and you know helps you to get to know her. And then we'll open the doors to her beta group too. So we'll put the link to her group in the show notes. You guys can check it out. Uh, and then uh, and if this is something that resonates with you, definitely check out her six-week program coming up here in the next few months. Um, Erica, I want to ask you, what if somebody's here and they're like, I've heard Denise talk about 90-day return for several years now, or maybe they just got the workbook, right? The workbook is still being sold on Facebook. And so people are purchasing it every day. What if they are thinking, you know what, maybe I need a little bit more support, or maybe I want to do this in community, or maybe I want to be a part of a growth group, you know, uh, that so I'm not doing this by myself. What would you say to somebody who's on the fence?

SPEAKER_01

It's been invaluable in my life this summer. I would not be where I am right now. I would not have the clarity and the alignment and just the vision um for, you know, moving forward without all of the support that I had this summer through the program from both you and Ladeen. It was an incredible way to take things that maybe you, you know, could could learn um separately, but to process it in a way that really leads to action. Um it's so easy to learn something and not take action. But but taking action and having that accountability, knowing that you've got those weekly check-ins that are going to be life-giving and keep you moving, like you say, you know, going that right direction. And okay, what, you know, what are your action steps for this week? How can you keep making that progress? Um, just made a huge difference in my summer. I was aiming, my my theme for the summer was gonna be peace and achieving peace in my household um and my life. And I have seen that in so many ways that I could not have imagined three months ago.

SPEAKER_02

Amazing. Like literally, so much can happen in just a few months when you're given a roadmap and accountability, you know? Because I often say, right, you if you could just watch a video and your life would be changed. We have so many resources on YouTube, um podcasts, like we'd already be there. Um, so the lessons are a piece of it, but the writing about your own life, the speaking about your own life, the feedback, the community, the accountability, all of that kind of melds together into the perfect storm. But it happened, Erica, because you said yes. You know, you said yes to you, and becoming the best version of yourself bleeds into your entire family. And so just be proud of the effort you took because not only did you say yes, but you showed up consistently, you did the work, and I'm excited. Do you have do you have an insider scoop on your final number? Like, do you know your before number and then your after number off the top of your head?

SPEAKER_01

I just calculated it this afternoon, actually.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, good. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So before my starting hundreds was 34 across all of the areas. Okay. And I am now at 73. So I have more than doubled my life situation. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

Isn't that amazing? Yeah. It's amazing. It's amazing. Congratulations. You deserve it. You you deserve peace. Your family deserves peace. Um, and definitely I'm excited to stay in touch and see how you continue to take this. Because it's not like it's like three months and like, oh, now I forget everything I've learned. You know, it's like you now have tools. In your toolbox that you can use. I have people years later go, oh my gosh, my mother-in-law just called and I used your skill. And that's good work. Because life still happens, things still pop up. But now you have some more tools to help you support, you know, getting through the challenges and creating a life you love.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm excited to take action. I already have ideas for you know goals for this fall and things. You know, with the with summer, there's only so much capacity and learning so much new. Like you said, it is a fire hose. And while I've seen so many positive developments, I'm also excited to just take that space that I, you know, know I have that I've been setting aside weekly for these 12 weeks and say, okay, I'm gonna keep taking action on you know these other things that I know will continue to bring my life into alignment with where I'd like to be headed. Awesome. Awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Well, thanks for having your numbers. That was that was very helpful. Um, and congratulations. That's amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Wonderful.

SPEAKER_02

All right, Ladeen, what would you say to somebody who's been thinking about saying yes to 90-day U-turn, but maybe they're on the fence?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I didn't think I needed 90-day U-turn. That's the funny thing about it, was I was like, I have I've kind of life pretty much figured out and you know, my I'm happy. But it wasn't really until I dug into the the stuff that I realized that there were untapped dreams that just never realized. And I was just so busy with life that I was just like going to work and coming home, and that was like it. And I'm just like, this isn't the way I want my retirement to be. And with like, what do you what? And I couldn't figure it out. So coming to 90-day U-turn really totally flipped my script. Now it's not, I still gotta wait two more years. So that's okay. I can put things off. Now it's like, no, now I have a plan. I want to implement it. I want to retire, like, you know, now.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I can't, but you know, but now I but now you're like over the next two years, I'm gonna prepare and plan and be ready. So you're excited about where you're going. You're not getting a my dad. When he retired, he got a book from the library that said 101 hobbies. I was proud of him. He was he was trying, but we made fun of him for a while.

SPEAKER_00

We have all these plans now. We're we're doing scouting trips to Kentucky to see where we want to live with my children, which you know, when you move a lot of people times when people retire, they move south, they leave their families up here. It's like to know that my kids want to come. I know the numbers, I know my financial numbers, which was really important. And I kept putting off sitting down with my financial advisor, and I finally took action and did it, and now I have concrete financial plan for my future. Um, it's just all those things. And now I'm actually starting a coaching group that I'm really going to enjoy, where it's not just finances or you know, some writer's coach. It's now like a really concrete writing uh coaching program that I I really believe is going to really impact and change the lives of so many. I just really feel like I'm stepping into my calling. And it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't joined 90-day U-turn. That's the thing, sometimes you don't even know you need it until you get into it. And then it's like the aha, like the aha moments, like, yeah, I really needed this.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So even if you're on the fence and you think you don't need it, try it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. At the end of the day, you're gonna learn skills and have fun along the way. But you said too that you feel like you're stepping into your calling. This is something that maybe has been brewing, coaching has been brewing for you for a while. Um, if somebody is feeling that same way, they're like, I want to add value to the world in a way that is on my time, that fills my cup and others, right? Um what do you tell like what would I guess the question is, what would you say to somebody who's been thinking about becoming a coach and joining the certification program?

SPEAKER_00

So I have been in several coaching programs. I have three other coaching certifications. So, and to come into 90-day U-turn to become a coach, you know, a certified dream life coach, what the value that Denise has for you as a potential coach is incredibly a hundred percent more than any other coaching program I was ever in. It's not just okay, you could be a coach, but pick what you want to do. It's like you can be a coach and you can tweak this curriculum that you're walking through and how you're growing and use it to support other people in your own coaching program. And I got my first certification in 2018. So I'm not just a newbie looking at it, or 2010. So I'm not just a uh, you know, 2010 I became a uh certified cook from Coach Training Alliance. They did not go into the depth or the the skill base that Denise provides to the people that are gonna get certified certified to her, and it's just remarkable the difference. And I think that that's why it's it it's so important that if you're looking to be a coach, don't just cheap out, don't just get a piece of paper. Piece of paper is not gonna help you build a business. It's and then she will even take you beyond your certification that Denise has a whole other program for you as a coach that she can take you through as well, which I'm meeting on with her on Thursday to talk about that from my own coaching practice. So there's so much value that she gives above and beyond any other coaching program I've ever been in. Um, it's certified by Dave Ramsey. I'm a Ramsey certified financial coach. This training is better. It's hands-on. It's not just listening to someone talk to you, it's hands-on, and you really learn really great skills.

SPEAKER_02

Well, thank you for that, Ladeen. I'm gonna listen to that on repeat. But you're right, it's not just reading a book or watching a video and then being told to go do it on your own. It's the support of actually implementation and then getting feedback. And if you have questions, like we're doing it together. And so I think that's why so many people start their own podcasts, or we've got girls that have, you know, done retreats and hosted their own stuff and they are doing the thing because it's not just a $49 coaching certificate that you're getting on Udemy or something that you're never even going to finish. It's something that like it's step one, step two, step three. And then we do have the tech support as well. I found that was a big barrier for coaches. Like, how do you create a sales page and all these things? So we have that component as well, where I can duplicate what I have and you can edit it to make your own. So there's just a lot of we've we've seen where people get stuck and we've worked to create a bridge so that people continue the process. Uh, and so I'm excited, Ladeen, for you to open the doors to your um first coaching program, your beta coaching program, and take people through the six weeks because people need it. People need community, people need to remember that they're more than their current circumstance, that things can change in three to six months. Uh, you don't have to stay stuck, and you can do it, right? And so to have that message in a path that helps people to grow is super powerful. So, without further ado, um, anything you want to add before we end tonight?

SPEAKER_01

I think just be open to where it's gonna take you because I didn't know exactly what this was gonna look like when I jumped in. But I was willing to give it a shot. And I think that's a big part of why I've seen that jump in numbers um throughout this summer is that you know, the the material, the experience, the community, um it it's transformed my life in ways that I couldn't have imagined three months ago. And I'm forever thankful for that.

SPEAKER_02

Amen. Amen. Ladeen, any last words?

SPEAKER_00

Just do it. If if there's even if there's even just a part of you that wants to be in this community, just do it because the value that you're gonna get and the changes it's gonna make in your life are worth the investment of your time, you know, everything. It's worth it. And she's so much fun to be with.

SPEAKER_02

We do have a lot of fun. And like if your work doesn't leave you like laughing and overflowing when you're done, you're in the wrong profession, right? Like so, meeting weekly doesn't feel like a chore, right? It feels like it fills our cup. We leave energized. And I think that's what talking about your dreams does. We're not talking about the past, we're not ruminating on why we're not where we want to be, all the things. We're saying, all right, what can we control? What can we do now? And and let's let's do it, you know? And so big congratulations to both of you. I'm proud of all your effort and your vision. And just know that this is the beginning. Uh, because you don't just forget what you learned. You get to continue to implement it. And then you're always welcome for a reboot if you need one down the road. But thank you guys so much, friends, listening. We do have another round starting in August. So if you're interested in getting started with us, we'll be meeting Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Eastern. Uh and get with me. The doors are currently open, 90dayuturn.com. And then if you're interested in becoming a coach and you want to not only learn this content for yourself personally, but implement this in learning how to coach others, uh, whether you already are a coach and you want to bolster your skills, or you want to start your own coaching business and like with like a roadmap for implementation, get with me, book a call, uh, let's talk, and we'll see if the certification program is a good fit for you. So, with that being said, thank you, ladies, for your time and energy today. To everybody, we'll see you same time, same place next week. Bye bye.
