Todd:

Welcome to Todd Talks, where I help you design your best life not the life I designed for you, but the life you desire. I want to thank Rebecca Davidson for coming on the show today. She is with Intuitive Learning and if I get that wrong, please forgive me, but Rebecca is a worldwide expert on so many different things that we're going to talk about, especially finance and decisions and how to get your mind right to improve and develop abundance. Rebecca, how did you tell a little bit about yourself and how you got into what you're doing, please?

Rebecca:

Thanks, Todd, it's so good to be here. I love this dynamic of you on the beach and me here over in New Zealand. So, I'm an intuition coach, which means I help people to develop their intuition, their consciousness. Some people might call it a gut feeling and once upon a time I didn't even know what an intuition coach was. So I was really guided to this career or this. You could call it a vocation.

Rebecca:

I used to work in the banking industry and I worked there for 13 years. For five of those years I had the privilege really of working in private bank, which was for high net worth clients, you know, like most, which was amazing and it was across the board. There were celebrities, there were sportsmen, et cetera. But what I realized very quickly, from even just a money psychology point of view, that they thought very differently than a lot of the clients that I had been dealing with kind of in the banking chamber. So starting to recognize like fear and scarcity and how people were assigning meaning when it came to money, and then recognizing that these clients maybe were a little bit more emotionally intelligent in some ways and how they responded to money and therefore money responded differently.

Todd:

So now I really have a.

Rebecca:

Right Now I help people kind of go Okay, what's my relationship with money? Like even realizing that it is a relationship, and are you showing up for it in lots of different ways. I think that can be really telling, even in your head thinking okay, I'm having a relationship with money, what does it look like? Is where I really start from.

Todd:

Well, awesome. I know, having a relationship with money is difficult for a lot of people, based on their past, based on whatever, and it's important how do, how does someone figure out what their relationship is and where it developed from?

Rebecca:

Yeah, so because, like, we can like this money blueprinting, of course. But a lot of everybody's going to know the answer to this question for themselves, which is what is my money relationship at the moment? Like if you gave money, your money, a microphone, and said, hey, how's Todd in this relationship? What would money say? So that's a really good place to start and for some people they can feel like this relationship's awesome. It's really working for me because maybe they've worked on the relationship. But for some people you're right, they do have money trauma, like they've been in an abusive relationship with money where they feel like money is being up. So we have to shift that dynamic to heal it, to come back to a place like. This is really working for me Because you do experience a lot of miracles when you create harmony and your relationship with money, because it's such an amazing reflector to go as your relationship with yourself and the big thing about money, yeah it activates value.

Todd:

Do I value absolutely. Sorry for breaking in and interrupting, but I find this so important, Especially because you know, to be very open and honest here. I mean, as we got out of the military we ended up not having a job for three months, not making money. So it brought a lot of money fears to the surface, and now my wife and I were in a place where we hit rock bottom when it came to our fears. But now we've decided, instead of calling it, we're getting out of, We're now calling it

Todd:

We have financial goals, Because I've learned a long time ago that the wording that you use to yourself attracts. So, if you use, we're getting out of debt, we're talking about debt, thinking about debt all the time. Guess what? We're attracting debt into our lives. We have financial goals of zero balances on debt and massive balances and bank accounts. We're attracting more and I'm now flying for Delta Airlines and the money does just. As I focus on the financial goals, I do find that the struggles that I've had in the six months ago are not there. They're not the same. What can you tell someone about building this intuition, this relationship, a positive relationship with money?

Rebecca:

It's a great question because often the first thing that people need to move through which is the hardest and don't want to put it is to actually learn what it is to feel and process your emotions, because emotions are energy and if we're not actually feeling them, a lot of people try and sink their way through an emotion, like they feel the sensation in their body and then they go.

Rebecca:

I'm going to try and figure this out from the head, but to learn the skill set to actually come back into the body, to take the story away from the emotion and then to just process it, because when you do that, you create space in your body, process the energy right, it's gone, like the channel is clear. When the channel is clear, it is so easy to get the awareness of what the next step is. You've already had that awareness. I can't continue to focus on the dead and create gondons. Right, that awareness is already there, so you're already doing it. So, to be the person who's like okay, this is a really great question, right? Who am I being in relationship to what is occurring?

Rebecca:

That's a good question Because it's like, if I'm looking at my credit card, am I being powerful in response to what I see, or am I letting that determine who I am? Yeah, I remember once in the bank, Todd, this guy came into a background loan and it was declined. Right, Like I put it all in, did a little sorry, it's a no. I had to tell him that it was declined. I felt like I was crushing his soul. I know right, Because of course, I understand now too, like everybody is like their money with value, but maybe even more so in terms of providing and creating. And I was like and he couldn't hear me at all after I put in so much money behind, he couldn't hear this is the next step, this is what we do next. He was just crushed and I was like this is the problem. Right, we need to shift. Oh, yeah, yeah, so people don't go. Money determines my value. It's like, no, you determine your value and it will be reflected in me.

Todd:

Oh yeah, because so many people look outwardly to determine their value, whether it's money, whether it's houses, whether it's clothing, whether it's where they live, whether it's their job, whatever. I've seen so many people, especially while doing this podcast, that they're so outwardly focused that they're not even living their life. I like to call it that. They're the secondary actor in the play of their life, because they're letting everything else control them.

Rebecca:

Yes, and even that concept. I think that the other day taught about somebody talking about borrowing money to buy a bag or clothes, to present an image, and I was like I'm so naive I can't imagine what would tell somebody to do that, like to create a circumstance which maybe feels frightening, just to present an image, and of course you know they don't respect in your money relationship. You really ask yourself these deeper questions because, again you're right, the external has no control.

Todd:

So how does somebody that is going through that, that is feeling that that is outwardly controlled, how do they take that step from outward control to inner control?

Rebecca:

Yeah, see this, but here, like I, immediately go to learn what it is to live from your soul and consciousness rather than from your mind and your ego. The ego is fear based and it's a reflex and it has its purpose, right, because it's actually there for you to survive, because if you're the caveman and you have the most berries and the most firewood, then you've got a better chance of survival through the wintertime. Right, it just makes sense. Obviously, we can see extrapolated out how that's created mentions and Lamborghinis and all the things, which is cool. If you want to have that experience, have it, there's nothing against it. But, as often, our judgments around anyway, but to be the person who understands am I coming from my soul?

Rebecca:

Because your soul doesn't lack. There's abundances, all there is. So if you're in lack, you're actually in the illusion. So a lot of people, like the ego, can really hold on what it says, what it says, what it says, what it says. So if you try to do something different, like I've often seen this, where people are learning how to soften the ego message a little bit so it calms down, consciousness can come forward like more awareness, like how does this feel? Who am I being? How am I choosing to respond? I have control over that. And learning to listen to consciousness to say that is a good idea, which opens up energy, which creates more abundance. But learning what your ego is, what your consciousness is, and how to shift yourself constantly, because the ego is fear based, so fear always comes and that means that that money is going to move away.

Todd:

So I think, based on what you're telling me, there has to be a story there how you were able to shift from working in the banking to becoming an intuitive coach. An intuition coach. So could you expand a little bit on the story of what shifted you from working with those high network clients in the bank to becoming an intuition coach? What caused you to do that internal shift? To say this needs to be my calling in life.

Rebecca:

Intense suffering, tot yeah, right Like being like I had all the trappings, right Like I had. I drove an awful mail at the time. I had this amazing job. I was being paid really well. I had my own home. I had beautiful friends.

Rebecca:

My personal relationships or romantic relationships were a bit of a nightmare. I was drinking way too much. I was really unhappy because I felt like I was being ungrateful, because I was like is this it? Is this what I came to the planet for? To work in a bank and be in this environment? I was like this way, here and around, most days I was in a despair, and even the institution of banking itself to it's quite hierarchical and on purpose. So it was always like knowing your past and being great that you had. And you know, the irony being is I had to do something because I was like lying inside right, like my soul was saying to me this is not what you came here for, this is not your purpose. But don't get me wrong. I wasn't really awake or aware of it at the time and it was a struggle. There was a lot of fear. There was a lot of like clinging like nails down the blackboard, like, oh my God, this is so scary. What's next? But I just knew that I needed to come.

Todd:

I've heard this story before. Many people that shift from those high, high stress careers have to go through that same struggle that you're going to, because they realize that they have a higher purpose than what they were doing.

Rebecca:

And the universe gets your attention right by putting you with a knife. It's like let's make this really uncomfortable, right, so we get your attention. So you actually need to go. Oh, I've got to get out of here. So, and I did.

Rebecca:

You know, I still remember because I worked we had a lot of earthquakes here in Christchurch in 2010. So I actually worked at the big sport team for the banks here and they were downsizing. We'd all had to reapply. I didn't really want the job, but that morning I knew like we were getting the phone call. She was like I'm so sorry that you haven't been, you know, like we're not going to offer you the job. And I was like that's fine, I know. And she kept on talking, right, and she was like, oh, I'm so sorry, and you know, you've been there the longest, and I know right, because I knew it was time to go.

Rebecca:

And I left work on a Friday and on Sunday I spoke in an event called the last, which is for, you know, yoga practitioners, people who do have a question, and yeah, I did a speech on being powerful and all things, and I walked off the stage and I got angry by people wanting to sign up for a newsletter. So that's how much started, but that was a massive leap of faith too, because I was talking about being powerful and authentic. I didn't write a speech. I remember going up behind a tree and saying I have to help me out here because this needs to come from a place that's genuine.

Rebecca:

So, yeah, but again, stepping in the case, having the courage, you know, being willing to move. It's a big thing that I help female entrepreneurs with balance, like the masculine, and the feminine, like the masculine, has to move To create the momentum inside of us, and the feminine needs to be open to receiving, to have your income in a good place. You know, and again, let's put it this way, todd, in banking I was always limited. Now, like I'm multi-sense Is just from following my intuition. There's five years especially, I did not have a business plan.

Todd:

I totally, I totally get it. My wife and I have followed our intuition and we'd like to say it's the Lord guiding us to that's one reason we're in Florida, because we may.

Todd:

we have always tried to follow that intuition of where going, where we're supposed to go, and we've been able to help so many different people and we've had so many unique experiences. That would not have happened had we not followed that intuition. And so I totally get where you're coming from. But to live that way, to be that way, it really requires a leap of faith. It requires an overcoming of fear, because a lot of times you're stepping off into the unknown with no safety net. That's right.

Rebecca:

And universe is saying jump. And you're like where's my parachute? I feel like what do you want me to do, what? But you feel it so.

Todd:

The universe is saying, though there's a net at the bottom, you don't need a shoe or that if you jump I wings and fly Right.

Rebecca:

This is how we saw, exactly Right, and the universe is totally ready and available. But that's totally right. Like your intuition is the ability to communicate with the divine right, with the universe, with that part of you that knows more than your mind does, and we are the ones who are always orientating ourselves, todd, we're the ones who are going. Am I coming from my right or am I coming from my soul?

Todd:

So one, so somebody that is not used to using their intuition. They're used to having everything planned out and making them plan a step by step process. There are people that need that controlled plan. They can't just jump. How do you help them get from never using intuition to recognizing intuition?

Rebecca:

The bridge is the body, because the body has all the awareness. The body is actually more powerful and more aware and more conscious than your mind. Your mind is the type of the iceberg in the body. The rest of the iceberg. We know how this works with the subconscious. The mind is just like and it's all the same story.

Rebecca:

One of the first things to start doing is going okay, to what level do I feel sensation in my body? Because that's one of the ways that my intuition speaks to me through the body. To start practicing, how close are the thoughts? Can I push them back a little bit and realize I'm not the thoughts, I'm not my mind, I'm not even actually my body, but I'm the one observing it. This helps to create spaciousness.

Rebecca:

The analogy that I love with the mind is that your mind is like the little dog at a window watching the cars go past. If the little dog is behind the window watching the cars, he's safe. The cars are like the thoughts that are going past. If the dog runs out into the track, they get run over. If you identify too much with your thoughts and you think that this is who you are, you want to learn what it takes to start leaning back and creating space between yourself and your thoughts and observing the thoughts and going oh, that one's interesting, oh that one's. Wow, that one's taken me to an interesting place, because you know what it's like. I call my mind lassie. Sometimes you're sitting like look at her go.

Todd:

We have thousands of thoughts that go all directions every day.

Rebecca:

Yeah, but I went through a stage two and I'm really glad that I did this where every time I would just observe my thoughts and I would evaluate it Is this good, is this contributing to who I wish to become? And if not, then I'm going to release it. I'm like no, that's not. And again to that point where mastery was. For me, it was like noticing a thought starting to bubble up and I knew if I followed it, it was going to take me to a place where I felt awful, because this creates a chemical reaction which creates a sensation, which creates a mood in the body and that's affecting your energy field. And to go actually no, I'm not going to think that I'm going to go this way. For me, that was a real moment of like oh yeah, you always have a choice and there's nothing worse right and living in a mind where you feel like it's got control of you.

Todd:

Oh yeah, I mean to be perfectly honest. I know my wife really struggles with this. She has ADHD, and so her mind is always going in all sorts of different directions, and there are a lot of people out there that do have that where your mind will never settle down. And so, using what you say, what method do you use or recommend to people that have trouble

Todd:

with that? Where their mind is just going nonstop, to be able to step back, is there a method or something that you teach? I know I teach different variations on breathing technique and meditation, but what do you recommend for separating yourself out, to be able to be that dog at the window, not the dog in the street getting run over?

Rebecca:

Yeah, I've seen a lot of and not saying this is particular to your circumstance, but I've seen a lot of people with ADHD or ADD who actually have trauma, because it can be a trauma response, right. So, and again, when we hear that, we can feel like, oh, that feels heavy, but you can shift trauma quickly. Right, Because it's about learning, especially with your intuition. Right, Because the intuition can tap into the subconscious and go okay, maybe there is a massive fear of not belonging here and it's showing up and limited attention because it's too painful for that person to stay in the emotion. So and I know it sounds intuitive but for people like that, to actually learn what it is to truly process the emotion, and a lot of times what happens is they don't want to feel the emotion because it feels painful. So the ego is going don't go there. Don't go there because it feels uncomfortable. That's what can create those feelings of anxiety. So, you're right, breathing, but learning what it takes to be still and to be present with yourself, even if it feels uncomfortable.

Rebecca:

And there's kind of like four main channels when it comes to emotion, like gladness, happiness, sadness, anger and fear, and often too, when the mind is like all over the place. Probably the first two to start with would be anger and fear, because the mind is just trying to keep you safe. Oh yeah, there's yeah, and we need to appreciate that. We need to go. This has been developed as you know. Maybe it's not an old tear, a pretty year way of doing things, but the mind is looking to seek safety and this is how it's playing out. I've worked with clients before who have ADD. They actually need to tap into their genius as well.

Todd:

And they do because we, especially when they're living in, that they're 100% of the time living in fire their flight mode and so having to Find ways to get out of that fire their flight mode to tap into, as you said, your genes, to be able to Recognize that they are not their thoughts and feel the emotions, I love that, that idea, I think. I think it's so necessary.

Rebecca:

Yeah, but the mind will reject it. This is why people drink or take drugs. Right, because what's happening is the mind is actually Perceiving the sensation of the emotion in the body and it's right, creating just, and the person doesn't know how to sit down and process the emotion fully, so it shifts out of the body in the energy field. They're just feeling the sensation. They're like oh, this feels uncomfortable. That's when they get prompted I'm gonna go change my state by having a drink or checking out or doing something that's going to shift me into a different way of being, as opposed to.

Rebecca:

That's an invitation.

Todd:

No, I totally get it, because my wife I've talked about this before on the podcast that she was on medication for 20 years and finally, through some vitamins and things that we got to stabilize her, her Chemicals insider her hormones that's the word I'm looking for she was able to glean herself off and then get off the the medications completely and spin off them for several years. But what it caused is it caused her to realize, or To to think, there was something wrong with her because she was feeling highs and lows and crying and all the time. And but it's actually she was feeling and she had to learn and there's often in the process of learning About those feelings and that it's okay to have those feelings and stuff. So for me, from the outside, it's been very interesting to watch.

Rebecca:

How wonderful that she has somebody, because men in their Concept, like you're the container, right, you're the container, so it's safe for so she can feel the emotion Because, sorry, like there's no such thing as a wrong emotion.

Rebecca:

And that's really you need to understand that your anger, your sadness, your hurt, your fear there's nothing wrong with it. But people go oh, I don't like this. So then they push it down and then you know what it's like when the emotions been ignored for a long time and then it feels like a Feels like it's massive. But that's why I Encourage my clients to kind of play a musical notes with their emotions, to go on a Basis. So it's like fitness for your emotions to be the person who and again, often you need to be guided through it, because often it's really hard to facilitate yourself because your mind is going what do I do now? But once you learn it, it's really powerful in terms of keeping yourself Regulated and clear, because the emotions just want to be sane and witness oh, oh, yes, they do.

Todd:

Now I know that you're. You're offering a free you a free gift with this podcast and it'll be linked in the show notes down below. But can you tell people a little bit about what that free gift is that you are offering?

Rebecca:

It's actually about helping you to tap into your ideal reality, and one of the things that is obviously through you know, you're activating your imagination, but also the energy of your ideal self. So because when you have, when you know where you're going, it's much easier to get there right, and that's why your emotions are a guidance.

Todd:

And that's the hardest part to figure out yeah right.

Rebecca:

But, yeah, purpose is both, but the thing is about purpose, or aligning with purpose, or that feeling of like I'm in the zone, I'm doing the thing that I came here to do. Just follow your joy, because you know what it's going to feel like, even if you don't know everything around it. And that's really the purpose of the meditation and the process is to guide you into what's it going to feel like, because it's going to feel amazing and then, because you're saying yes to it, the universe can start dropping it into your reality. To say this is the next step. So, once you actually listen to it, what you want to be doing is going okay, universe, I've said yes to this. That's the next step. Show me, have it come into my reality, because you need to start talking and to activate it.

Todd:

Yeah, that's awesome and I appreciate you sharing that with people. Now, if somebody, after they get that, wanted to work with you, how can they reach you?

Rebecca:

I always offer like a three 30 minute consult to lean in and to have a conversation right, because the conversation in itself, like this, is activating, so you can lean in. And also, too often, people are led to me from their consciousness right From their soul, from their intuition is resonating. Listen to that part of you because that part of you knows and I have multiple like I help people with things like boundaries. Obviously with money, you need to have good boundaries in order to create more money, self worth, developing your intuition. So I have a lot of different programs that can match people up to where they're at and what they're looking to expand and into. But, yeah, I love my greatest passion. Really, I have a signature program that says intuitive mastery. But what I'm really meaning to right now is what does it take to live from spirit consciousness moment to moment to moment to moment?

Todd:

Well, that's awesome, and I'll have a link to your down below so that people can get ahold of you as well. Thank you so much for being on here with me today. I think that we have had a very good discussion, and people can learn a lot about how to find their purpose, how to overcome those fears, and also to align their thinking and their spirit to be able to focus on the abundance that they want in their lives. So thank you so much for being on.

Rebecca:

I think it's for having me, Todd. You know it's so important for me for people to know you're not alone, right? That consciousness has been with them before they were born, will be with them every step of the way and will be still you after you pass away. So, learning to lean back and trust that as you, it changes your life and it's so joyful and it's so great to see that you're doing that already, like on the beach in.

Todd:
