We talk with Julia Walda about the moment she realized she loved Jesus but did not actually understand the gospel well enough to live free. She shares how righteousness, renewing the mind, and rejecting lies reshaped her fight with lust, anxiety, condemnation, and self-hatred.
• her shift from casual posting to intentional gospel teaching on social media
• why she values local church authority over a self-made platform
• growing up with a “do your best” Christianity and missing identity in Christ
• dreams and encounters that convinced her God is real and Jesus is the only way
• prophetic guidance around marriage and the wisdom needed in charismatic circles
• purity struggles, deep shame, and counsel that normalized sin without empowering freedom
• the gospel training camp where righteousness finally clicked
• learning freedom as release from sin’s power, not only future punishment
• anxiety as fear fueled by lies, fought through Scripture and renewed thinking
• “God doesn’t make junk” as a turning point for self-image and healing
• exposing lies out loud, declaring truth, and taking thoughts captive
• practical view of the mind as trainable, like an algorithm
• why she challenges works-based language that masquerades as holiness

Cold Open: Temptation And Despair

SPEAKER_05

The world doesn't think that the gospel can change your life, but we know that it can. And that's why we want you to hear these stories: stories of transformation, stories of freedom, people getting free from sin and healed from sin because of Jesus. This is death to life.

SPEAKER_03

So then once we got saved, because we didn't know the message of freedom, we didn't know how to resist temptation. We didn't know how to, you know, renew our minds or flee the temptation, even. So I remember I was sitting alone with the Lord and it wrecked me to disobey him. It wrecked me to sin because I had such a radical conversion and such a hunger for justice that I was like, I do not want to sin. So I would sit with him weeping, saying, I must not love you enough. I must not, like, I must not be as committed as I say I am, because I'm hearing the scripture where it says, resist the devil, he will flee. Like, you know, if your arm causes you to sin, cut it off. Or, you know, um, you as you I don't know, it was like um, no temptation has overtaken you, blah, blah, blah, or pray that you don't enter into temptation. And I'm reading all of this, trying harder to not. But then in the moment when temptation would come, lust was so strong, and I believed that lust was in me.

SPEAKER_05

Yo, welcome to the Death to Life podcast. I'm your host, Richard Young, and today's episode is with somebody that I've spent a total of uh six minutes talking to, and you're about to hear the rest of it because uh it's Julia Walda. I found her, or maybe she found me, or something. I saw a reel of hers three years ago, and she was just speaking hot fire gospel, and I said, Whoa, how did like where did you hear this? We started talking and then stopped talking, but I kept seeing her stuff, and it was such a blessing to me until a couple weeks ago where I was like, Hey, need to hear your story on the podcast, and she was like, uh, let's go. And so uh we're gonna do the podcast, and I'm sure it's gonna be a huge blessing and an encouragement, and back to just foundational um freedom from sin and identity in Christ. So I'm looking forward to having this conversation. I know you're gonna be blessed by it. So buckle up and strap in. This is Julia. Love y'all and appreciate y'all. Julia.

SPEAKER_04

Hi.

SPEAKER_05

I'm looking at your Instagram. You've got uh, how long have you been doing this thing on Instagram where you're like, I'm going for just sending the gospel. You said Canada shall be saved. That's one of your things on here. How long have you guys been, you and your husband been going for it?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, going on Instagram intentionally with the gospel, like literally less than two months in in the most recent consistent, like teaching the gospel. And then when I started my Instagram, it's been

Meet Julia Walda And The Message

SPEAKER_03

my personal Instagram since what? I was in high school. Actually, before when Instagram first came out, I would have been on like rate seven. Uh, and then I just really felt God recently, I don't know, I I we just adopted a baby. I left my ministry position to be on parental leave, but the fire of the gospel was burning so strong inside of me that I was like, Lord, I don't know what to do. And I just felt the Spirit of the Lord be like, actually, you do know what to do, but you just have to do it. And so that's why almost two months ago I started intentionally doing it uh and ended up deleting an old page I had, which was uh my business page that I had started when my husband and I first got married, and it had more followers. It was more of like turned into lifestyle content. So I was posting more of my fun stuff on there, and it was something I actually didn't delete when the Lord had called me into full-time ministry, not because the Lord told me to delete it and I didn't, but I just really felt God prompt me again of the opportunity of like you can totally get rid of this and then just go fully into this social media avenue, which is the gospel, which is your calling. So I did that. And so that's super recent,

Why She Started Preaching Online

SPEAKER_03

and you know, I maybe that's why I ran into you again.

SPEAKER_05

That's probably what it is. I'm like, it's the Holy Spirit. Well, yes, and also the algorithm, like it shows up for things that I like.

SPEAKER_03

I'm actually posting content that I wasn't, I might have posted it random here and there, uh, but then I I stopped for a while and I can explain that at some point. But yeah, that's why. And then as for Canada Shall Be Saved, that would have started five years ago when we got connected with the ministry we work with now, which used to be called Bill Prankard Evangelistic Association. Now my husband is the president of it, and it's Timothy Generation Ministries. So my husband and I have a ministry that is passionate about seeing Canada saved, and one of our main messages is obviously the gospel should be the gospel. Let's go and teaching identity in Christ. So that's why my husband just has the book that came out. This is a quick plug called Poor Weak Old Sinner question mark. And it's all about our identity in Christ and how we're not poor weak old sinners anymore.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, let's go.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna need to get him on here to just talk hit tell his story at some point. And uh that'll be awesome. And then he can plug plug the book. We plug the book twice. Um three years ago when I ran into your stuff, was that just your personal page and you were just like doing gospel stuff on there? And then yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And so what happened was back when I first started, when I first got saved, was a year before I got married. Then we got married, and then I was like working with my husband. We were doing ministry, but I was a live-in caregiver, I was a cleaner, I was doing my own business, and my husband was doing youth pastoring, and I was supporting him. Uh, so I wasn't really doing ministry. So I knew I was called to ministry, and so I started on TikTok. Same time like Bryce Crawford started, like Al Yoss, like all those like big influencers. I kind of started around the same time, maybe a year or so after. And that's when Bryce had like 40,000 followers. Okay, he was like just at the beginning. And I really felt the Holy Spirit be like, Julia, you can post this content like intentionally, and like, you know, get platformed because you're charismatic, people are gonna watch you, whatever. But it's probably not my time yet for you to actually go on social media. I want to prune you, I want to refine you. I don't want you to get yourself a platform. I want to give it to you. And so I stopped posting intentionally, and then I would just post randomly here and there. And so I was always kind of testing the waters of like, is it time to post? Is it not time to post? This message is burning on my heart, so I'm gonna post here and there, but never like intentionally. I'm gonna go for this, I'm gonna pursue this, and I'm going to market the message through social media. And so that's why you would have seen some of the stuff randomly, because it would have just been like, oh, I'm so passionate. I just need to tell somebody about the message of freedom, or somebody would have said something dumb and I would have been provoked by it and been like, this is not true. Cause that is so hard when you're on social media and like 90% of people are saying something and you're like, this is wrong. And they're just perpetuating the same message over and over again, but scripturally, it's wrong. And so that's why I wouldn't have done it, but I would have randomly. And then now I feel that release of like, we did ministry. I was pastoring for three years. Um, I'm a part of my husband's ministry. We're working with literal ministry leaders all across the nation. Uh, so we're we're embedded into the local church and we're embedded into the national church. So I feel like our mission and our responsibility has been established outside of social media so that we're entering into social media now, respected and given the authority by God. We didn't take it. Because that's just a side note. This is a free tibet, okay? You can have you can have a social media ministry, but that doesn't mean it translates to the body of Christ. I would rather be given a leadership position by the Lord that's affirmed by the real body of Christ across the nation than to receive it through social media, which doesn't always translate into the church. So that's the direction we went. So that's why now I'm coming in knowing I'm called, I'm anointed, I know the message, I've been refined, I've been pruned. I'm not saying there's not more, but there's enough where it's like I'm coming with the authority of heaven, I'm not just coming with Julia's opinions, and 90% of social media has opinions. And you're like, you just came on here because like I used to do, you're just frustrated and you want somebody to know what you're thinking, and it's not for the sake of the church. So, anyways, so that's that's my thought.

SPEAKER_05

That's good. That's good. So where does this story begin with your like your journey with understanding who God is and your identity in Christ? Where does that start? Like, tell us.

SPEAKER_03

So I got saved. Okay. So I was I got saved, so it started there. So I grew up in the church. I did not know we were a Pentecostal church. So I'm Pentecostal, Holy Ghost. Like we speak in tongues, we believe in the gifts of the Spirit, we believe in the five-fold ministry, we just believe in the full, you know, Bible. And um, I didn't know we were Pentecostal, and I was taught that Jesus is your ticket to heaven. I don't think they meant to teach that. Maybe I think that's just inadvertently what we learned. My husband was the same way. We were both in Pentecostal assemblies churches, which is like the assemblies of God, but it's the Canadian version. And so, like, I just saw, like, do your best, do good. God doesn't want you to drink, smoke, have sex before marriage. He doesn't want you to party, he doesn't want you to do all these things, and he loves you, but you're just a sinner and you can't help but sin and just do your best, even though you're saved, because one day you're gonna go to heaven and you don't want to do those things, I guess. Whatever. I don't know. I didn't have any foundation really of understanding because I don't think I really paid attention. And then I don't know, it just it didn't it didn't affect me deeply, and I didn't actually believe in God yet. So there's all that. So then what happened was when I was 19 years old, I had a dream where I died and I went to heaven, but I was actually a martyr in my dream. So I was being martyred, and six, I would say maybe six months before that, it's a little foggy now, but six months before that I had a dream where I was um being uh shot by this guy who had kidnapped me, and I felt the fear of dying. I felt the fear of like, I'm gonna die, I'm terrified. It wasn't like I don't know where I'm gonna go,

Platform Vs Real Church Authority

SPEAKER_03

but it was just like complete fear, helplessness, and and and just

Church Upbringing And A Heaven Vision

SPEAKER_03

wickedness before me. I died and I woke up from that dream. Then six months later, I have a dream where I'm being pursued by these three men. Obviously, they're from Islam, I'm gonna be honest, and they say something to me of like, Do you have anything to say? And I knew in my heart of hearts, like, I'm going to see Jesus. I'm okay. And I and I had total peace, no fear, total love, total peace. They shot me, and it was like how I would describe it is I was underwater upside down, and it was a bright light, and someone reached into the water, grabbed me out, and I like, man, I might cry. I lifted my head up and I was in paradise, and somebody was walking towards me. And I don't know if it was Jesus because at the time I didn't know who it was, but I gave them a hug, and behind me was this blinding bright light, and it was the love of God, it was the Father behind me, and his love was penetrating my entire being, and I had never experienced love before like that. I had just never experienced that, and I knew it was God. And so after I hug this person, after I have this experience with the love of God, and I'm weeping and I'm wailing, I wake up in my bed, obviously, and I I think it was a night after partying. Like, I don't think it was some normal night, like I'm sure, you know, I wasn't making good decisions, and I just laid in my bed and realized that was a vision. Like God is real. And the crazy thing was, in my dream, I was saved, and in my dream, I was a believer, and in my dream I was being martyred. But in real life, I wasn't a believer yet. I wasn't saved, and obviously I wasn't being martyred. And normally in a dream, when you die, you wake up, but obviously it wasn't just a dream, it was a vision. And so I was like, Jesus is real, God is real. And that was the time I was kind of going through an existential crisis of like, does God even exist? Because I I'd grown up, right? Like I knew what I was told, I knew that the there was the Bible, I just didn't know if I believed it. And then I got a Bible. It was like a New King James. No, it wasn't even New King James, it was an old King James version from like a random antique store because I didn't even know where to get a Bible. It was so confusing. But that taught me how to use like Bible Hub where you can contrast all the different translations. And then I started going to church maybe two weeks later, and I just had the Lord speak to me so clearly through the Bible. Uh, for example, one time, so it was just me. So the Holy Spirit discipled me right from the beginning. Like he just spoke so clearly to me because I was sold out. Like, yeah, I had a pretty intense conversion, but I had a pretty intense discipleship journey where I just was like, This is real. I'm done. I don't want anything else. I will do anything for you, Jesus. And I did. And one time I was talking with this girl who was kind of new age, and she said to me, Oh, but Jesus isn't the only way. And I was like, Ooh, that's like where we disagree. Like, I'm pretty sure he's the only way. And she got mad at me for the first time. She was so nice, so loving until that moment, it was like the first time I was being attacked about the truth. And I said, No, like that's where we have to disagree. Like, Jesus is the only way. It was super uncomfortable. She ended up leaving, and I'm going to this coffee shop before work, and I'm talking to the Holy Spirit, saying, like, I'm pretty sure you're the only way. Like, I just need you to tell me. That was really horrible. I opened my Bible. I don't know, maybe it's it's one of the New Testament letters. I don't know which one it is. And he says, Anyone who um, the only one who, you know, professes Christ is if he came in the flesh and he's the only way, whatever. It was like so clear. The answer was immediately given to me. Opened my Bible, it was right there, felt the Holy Spirit, heard the Rhema word of God, and was like, He's the only way. So that was kind of and that I would say that was the intensity of my discipleship journey. The spirit of the Lord was just so close to me. This is where it gets interesting. So I have these, yeah. So I have these like crazy encounters with the Lord. He's speaking to me really clearly, he's unpacking the Bible to me, teaches me about provision, teaches me about his faithfulness, teaches me about faith, but I don't understand freedom. So I'm struggling a bit with righteousness. So at the beginning, I stopped swearing, I stopped, you know, having sex with this guy that I was with, I stopped smoking, I stopped drinking alcohol, and the Lord used all these different things to tell me to stop doing those things. But then the the time when it really exposed itself that I didn't understand righteousness was when I was with my husband. So we knew by the word of the Lord that we were meant to get married. This is why my story is pretty crazy. Everybody says dates, mates, and babies. I've done pretty much all of them, including dates.

SPEAKER_05

Um wait, what's what is that? Dates, mates, and babies? I've never heard that. What does that mean? No, what does that mean? So do you I've never heard is that a Canadian thing?

SPEAKER_03

Prophetic? No, no. So for prophetic,

Learning To Hear God In Scripture

SPEAKER_03

so prophecy, right? Of the Lord speaking to us prophetically, rules in the prophetic circles don't prophesy dates, like like times on the calendar, don't prophesy mates, you know, husband and wife, and don't prophesy when people are pregnant, because those ones can cause the most harm. So if somebody prophesies a date and that date means nothing, that's a pretty tough thing for that person. You prophesy, oh, you're my husband, they ain't your husband. Vice versa. That's you know, that's a little rough. You prophesy somebody's pregnant, which I have had before, and they're not pregnant, you know, that kind of can hurt the person.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that that can be a killer for sure.

SPEAKER_03

So I've I've experienced all those things, but they've all turned out good. So God did prophesy that my husband and I would be married, and we both heard that prophecy. So we knew it was the Lord, and we had the witness in our hearts that we actually liked each other. So we ended up getting married. But when we were dating- How long were you guys dating?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like before you guys heard this like two half hour before you heard like you're supposed to get married.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, oh, so I would say two three weeks after we met. We didn't like we weren't romantically involved, but Jacob was interested in me. We had a phone call one night where I had a question, and the Lord had orchestrated this whole thing because Jacob was like, if she doesn't, I need her her to contact me today because I need to talk to her, Lord. And if she doesn't contact me today, then whatever. I ended up contacting him that day

Prophetic Marriage And Early Dating

SPEAKER_03

because he was he was a chicken. And then we had a phone call. On this phone call, we spoke for three hours and at the end we hung up and the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and he said, This is your husband. And at the exact same time when Jacob hung up the phone, the Holy Spirit spoke to Jacob and said, This is your wife. On our first date, two days later, 20 minutes into the date, I said, Hey, I just have to let you know I'm a really bold person. And I said, This is my shoot your shot.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_05

And I'm like, God didn't tell me that.

SPEAKER_03

No, but then wait, then I said, I was like, Yeah, so I'm just like a really bold person, which I am. And I said, I just need to tell you that I think you're my husband. And he starts giggling, and he goes, I know. And I was like, What do you mean? And he goes, The Lord told me you're my wife. And so on our first date, we knew we were gonna get married, and we were dating for five months, engaged for seven, and then we got married. So that's how that happened.

SPEAKER_05

So, but you guys are saying that it's it's we okay, so I know uh some people that kind of have your same faith background, and all of them get married really young. How how old are you guys?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, well, first of all, please note that I came in late, but even though I was 19. So I got married at yeah, 20.

unknown

I wasn't.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it seems like everybody gets married with that background, they're all super. And I think it's I think it's cool, I think it's good. Better to be married earlier. And and um, but the wisdom is not to prophesy about mates. That's what you're saying.

SPEAKER_03

So side note, so for the circle who is charismatic, understands the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, when we function in those gifts, there's some guidelines people have created of like, don't prophesy those things. Now, I disagree to a degree because the Lord has prophesied those things over us and they have been true, and it's also in the Bible. So that was why I said dates me.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, gotcha. I'm glad we got that covered.

SPEAKER_04

That's a side thing.

SPEAKER_05

Well, I don't, yeah, I don't, I've never heard of that, but now I'm glad you explained that to me.

SPEAKER_04

Now it made sense. Now somebody else was like, Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I know exactly what that is.

SPEAKER_05

So there's probably some wisdom behind it as well.

SPEAKER_04

There is a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_03

So at that time, when we were dating and engaged, we were struggling with having sex before marriage. We both had sexual past where we were both like, you know, actively um partaking in that before we got saved. So then once we got saved, because we didn't know the message of freedom, we didn't know how to resist temptation. We didn't know how to, you know, renew our minds or or flee the temptation even. Like, you know, if your arm causes you to sin, cut it off, or you know, um as you I don't know, it was like um no temptation has overtaken you, blah, blah, blah, or pray that you don't enter into temptation. And I'm reading all of this, trying harder to not. But then in the moment when temptation would come, lust was so strong, and I believed that lust was in me. I believed that that was my deepest desire. So if that's who I truly am, how am I gonna say no to it? And I gave in. And it caused a lot of turmoil in my heart where I repented for it multiple times, even sought counsel for it. And unfortunately, the counsel I received was, well, we all sin, you know, like do your best.

SPEAKER_05

You're the Roman seven gal.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And and they and they were trying to, you know, not make me feel so bad. They didn't want me to feel condemned, shamed, guilt. Well, you're gonna feel condemned, ashamed, and guilty if you're doing the wrong thing. You're just no matter what. Because that's

Purity Struggles And Unhelpful Counsel

SPEAKER_03

what sin produces. And so it didn't help. So I walked away from that wanting help, confessing it, being honest about it, trying to put in the parameters, you know, trying to do all the boundaries. And it didn't work because I was young and dumb and then didn't know the truth. So then what happened was in all those moments of, you know, sitting with the Lord and weeping to him and crying to him, he saw how honest my heart was. Well, he knew what I was going to be before I was even born. So he knew how tender I was towards him. So then what happened was I didn't know that I didn't understand the gospel. Okay. So I just need to say that. There was no, you know, revelation of I'm I'm not believing the truth, that if I knew the truth, I'd be free. Language didn't even exist in my vocabulary.

SPEAKER_05

You just weren't trying hard enough, according to you.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I wasn't trying hard enough, and I didn't love the Lord enough, and I didn't what I just say starve the flesh enough. I just made a video on that. But, anyways, um, and whatever. So then all this time, the Lord is preparing to bring me to this thing. And what happened was I had a friend reached out to me and said, There's a gospel training camp that's eight days long. I'd like you to come to it. I just really feel to ask you. And in my heart, I'm like, I know the gospel. I got saved. Okay. I'm saved. I'm not only saved, I'm on fire. Like I'm evangelizing, I'm discipling, I'm doing all the things you're supposed to do. So I'm not missing the gospel. That's what I thought on the inside. That's not what I said to my friend. And then I left it. During my honeymoon, I have a dream one night, because the Lord does speak to me in dreams. And in the dream, I'm trying to evangelize to the singer Rihanna. Okay. I think I'm decorating her house or something. She's got a bunch of cats. I don't know why. And she asks me, like, what is the gospel? And I say to Rihanna, you know what? Just read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. That's the gospel. Because those are the gospels. And whatever. I woke up from that dream and I was journaling with the Lord because that's what I used to do. Oh, I still do it, but I did that very intentionally at that time. And it was even my honeymoon I did it then. And I was writing to the Lord, like, Rihanna's not going to read the Bible. Like, what? That was my time to tell Rihanna the gospel. And I couldn't even tell it to her. I said, Lord, I don't know the gospel. I said, I don't think I could explain the gospel to somebody. I said, I actually don't understand the gospel. Rihanna's not going to read the Bible. She's not, she won't die in that moment. Like, yeah, I believe it in the name of Jesus.

SPEAKER_05

Rihanna, you shall God's reading your journal and he's like, that's true. That's true. You're on to something.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but like, um, and I just realized I don't know the gospel because I can't even tell somebody it. So then I messaged my friend right away because I just linked those together of the Holy Spirit showing me, like, yeah, you don't know the gospel. So then I messaged my friend and I said, Hey, like, do you still have spots for this training thing? Because it was less than a month later. And he said, Yes, actually, I can. And somebody has given money and I want to pay for the majority of your week. You just have to pay like 200 bucks. I think it was like a thousand dollars or something. And so God not only had the spot open for me, but somebody donated money where somebody else paid for me to go. So the Lord was so in it and it was so gracious and kind. So I went. So when I got there, there was one message. It was an eight-day camp. So I had just gotten married. So I was willing to leave my husband for eight days to go learn the gospel less than a month after getting married. And I'm sitting in one of the training sessions, and I'm I'm I'm in deep condemnation. That was something I didn't share. I'm in deep condemnation, self-hatred, self-loathing, self-doubt, uh, shame. I had a really negative self-view, even. So it's not even just the issue of sin. Like I hated myself because I was told, you're too loud, you're too bold, you're too obnoxious, you don't have a filter, everything. Like, like just all the worst like things people could say. I internalized my whole life. And so I was like, I would send people texts and I would like be like, why did you say

The Camp That Taught Righteousness

SPEAKER_03

that? They hate you now. And so many people have that internal dialogue. And I'd be like, this person's mad at you, blah, blah, blah. It was horrid. So I was living under that condemnation. And I was flowing in the gifts of the spirit. So I would prophesy and then immediately would be attacked. Why did you say that? You're so obnoxious. That was wrong. How dare you speak right now? So I was living under a lot of issues. Like I wasn't in freedom. So I go to this week, this eight-day thing, and I'm experiencing all these emotions kind of thing. And we're going through specific training messages. They're not clicking yet. I don't know why, but they're not clicking yet. There's like building kind of, and I don't even remember what the first messages were about. I couldn't even tell you. But the message that clicked that set me free was actually my friend Adam, who was the one that invited me. He's one of our best friends. I would say he's our apostle. If I were, he wouldn't call himself that, but I would call him. Well, maybe he would, but I would call him that. And he was teaching on righteousness. And I have no idea what he said, but he said something and it clicked. And I stopped him in the middle of his message, because there was like 20 of us. And I said, um, excuse me. I said, are you telling me it's possible to not sin again? And he goes, Yeah, yeah, like it's possible for sure. And I sat there going, What? Like it's on video. This whole interaction is on video. And I'm like, is and I'm I don't know if I'm like, is anybody else hearing this? Like, this is the craziest thing I've ever heard in my life. If I'm the only one that fully grasped it, that whole week was totally worth it because it just like wrecked me. So then from that point on, everything started clicking. And I started going through a journey of freedom from sin, started going through a journey of identity in Christ, started getting free from condemnation, shame, guilt, self-loathing, self-hatred. All of those are actually pretty linked if we think about not understanding the gospel. And that's what happened. And it was just that message. So then from that point, I went home with the revelation of we're free from the power of sin. We're actually new creations in Christ Jesus. We died, we're reborn. This is the best message in the world. And I told my husband, and I remember sitting in the driveway to our apartment, and he goes, This is either the best message in the world or this is absolute heresy of a hair. He's like, This is absolute heresy. He said, I hope this is true. But he said, I need to look. So he spent six months studying it. I don't know if his book is in here. He has this green book. So, oh, I can't grab it. There's a green book over there. And it has all the scriptures that he studied for that six months of righteousness and rebirth and being born again, no longer being a slave to sin, no longer being a sinner, but being a son or a daughter. And then at the same time, I was diving hardcore, diving hardcore into Romans 7, diving into 1 John, 2 John, like all of that, diving into James, diving into what is the flesh, what is the spirit, what is the circumcision of the heart, what is you know our new identity in Christ, who were we? And it just became richer and richer and richer. And the years that I've been living it and meditating on it, I got free from anxiety, free from condemnation, free from guilt, free from shame, free from sin. Intimacy with God is great. Like just everything you'd want. You get.

SPEAKER_05

What had to click in the scriptures that you had to see for that lie to be exposed for what it for what it is?

SPEAKER_03

Well, first of all, I had to learn that lies produce bondage and truth produces freedom always. So I I even remember sitting one day with that question of what was I freed from? Like I just like remember being like everybody says you're free. What? Y'all telling me I'm going to heaven. Is that free from punishment? Free too, free what? I just like remember that time with the Lord. And it was, no, you're free from the effects of evil and bondage and sin and corruption. I've set you free. Okay, so what does that mean? Well, anxiety is not freedom, like it's just not freedom. And so when I understood that revelation of anxiety is not freedom, then I found the scriptures of, well, the truth sets you free. So then what's the truth about anxiety? And if Christ lives in me and he doesn't have anxiety, then I shouldn't have anxiety. That was a big one. I died. Christ lives in me. It is no longer I who lives, but Christ in me and the life I live, I now live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. Right? I live by the Spirit. Okay, well, does the Spirit produce anxiety? No. And so I had to reject anxiety. If I'm accepting anxiety, I'm gonna live under it. If I'm embracing anxiety, I'm gonna live under it. If I'm rationalizing anxiety, I'm gonna live under it. But I just believed the gospel so simply, so recklessly, that I died. And if Jesus lives in me and he doesn't have anxiety and the truth sets me free, and this is not freedom, I'm not going to submit to anxiety. Get out, devil. Not today Satan. So there was that part of it. And so I would read the scripture that says, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything with prayer and thanksgiving, make your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends understanding. What? Transcends understanding? I don't even have to understand how

What Freedom Really Means

SPEAKER_03

I have peace. That makes no sense. Will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. So instead of so when anxiety would come, I had this revelation of Christ in me. I don't have to have anxiety. Anxiety is not being produced from Christ. So where's it coming from? Obviously, the enemy. And so then I would submit myself to God, submit myself to the word of God, and I would fight through anxiety moments with the word. Did anxiety lift right away? No. Anxiety actually took probably two years to be totally free from. But I had to believe am I who he says I am? Am I a new creation? Is his spirit in me? And that's what allowed me to endure until the emotions lifted. So anxiety is a byproduct of a lie. Always. Well, there's a few things. Anxiety is a byproduct of a lie, and you've believed it for so long that you're living under the effects of it. A lie will manifest, and the lie manifests through anxiety for me. And then I can go into the lie I was believing. But then also your habits. If you're treating your body like crap, anxiety is a byproduct of treating your body like crap. If you're scrolling on your phone mindlessly for hours and hours and hours, your body can't rest. That's also a product of anxiety. Like uh uh anxiety is a byproduct. So I had to deal with all of those things.

Anxiety As A Lie You Reject

SPEAKER_03

But the main thing was no, I'm not, I'm not accepting anxiety. And I got free from it. And then and then part of the issue was believing lies about who I am, feeling like a failure. If you're in fear, you're gonna have anxiety. And feeling like a failure and fear of failing is fear, and fear is not a part of God's plan for you. You are not to be in fear with the Lord because he loves you, so there's no reason to be afraid. So I had to also then renew my revelation of the Father's love, and I had to let his love love me through all of my insecurities. So I would just say anxiety is the product of deep, deep insecurity. And the father's love loved me through it. But I wouldn't have fought for it if I didn't believe that I didn't need to be anxious, and so now I'm sitting here without anxiety.

SPEAKER_05

That's so powerful. The words that keep coming up with anxiety is fear, fear, fear, fear, fear, fear. The opposite of love isn't hate, the opposite of love is fear. And like when we're set free, we're like the well was poisoned, and we operated with this mind that would go in the worst places and our habits, our our thought patterns. Freedom is old us, you know, you and I have died. And so then we have to stop thinking like old us. And sometimes that takes a little bit of time. You know, we were talking about my porn coaching program. I'm teaching guys how to think differently. Yeah. Um, because you do actually have to be renewed by the transforming of your mind. Like we it's also like God's not going to think for you, He is giving you His mind, but then you have to start thinking, like repent, think a different way, change the way you're thinking about it. So that's so so powerful. So what you when you were younger, all this stuff about your energy, and all this stuff about like people had put a bunch of stuff on you and you didn't even like the way you were, your your energetic self.

SPEAKER_03

I hated. I like and it wouldn't have been hate, like cutting or or um oh maybe a little bit isolating, but it was because I had so much energy, because I was so outgoing, and I really didn't have a filter. I didn't, I I was oblivious. I was a pretty oblivious child, and I don't know why. I think it's partially a gift. Uh, I would still do things that were obnoxious and oblivious, and then I would be like, Why did you do that? You're such an idiot, and just like internalized that language of myself. And part of the message of freedom was God actually loving me into loving myself and being like, Julia, you're because if you remove the sin, you you have a beautiful human. Like you have a beautiful person, you have a beautiful personality. Yes, sin tainted my personality, but without sin, I am designed and made beautifully by God. So of course I have a beautiful personality. Of course, God loves who I am. Of course, God made me this way, right? God made me exuberant and vibrant and chatty and outgoing. And yeah, all of that has to be refined and brought under submission to the character of God, but it's not junk. And that was one of the revelations I had at that retreat was God doesn't make junk. Do I believe that about my personality? And it was true, God doesn't make junk. So what we did, and and this is actually what got me free from anxiety, what got me free from sin, got me free from everything, was they taught us expose the lie out loud and then declare the truth. So I remember Holy Spirit speaking in my heart because I love what they did. They they made us all come to the front, and you can't get free if you don't confess. I don't care what anybody says.

God Does Not Make Junk

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, some things, very few things actually, can you confess privately to the Lord? Most need to be confessed out loud so that you break shame, you break guilt, you break condemnation. If you're willing to confess that thing to a person, you're not you're not being controlled by shame. You're being controlled by God because God has designed confess your sin to you know your sins to one another so that you can be healed and forgiven. Anyways, so they had us come up to the front and to expose lies that we were believing because they understood and taught us that lies drive bad behavior, lies drive bad thinking, lies drive sin. So if you can expose a lie, you can start making it powerless. And so I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me and go, you believe you're junk. And that hurt, it hurt to have him expose it. And it was like, Yeah, the Lord, I hate myself. And he was like, I don't hate you, I don't make junk, I love your personality, and that hurt. You'd think it would be easy, but it wasn't because I built my entire life off that belief, and so I got up to the front and in courage, courage isn't the absence of fear, it's doing it anyways. In courage, I said, I expose the lie that I'm junk and I declare the truth that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and God does not make junk. And that started this journey of like total freedom, of like, I am. You know what? It started the journey of I don't have to believe every thought. And I at the time of my life, I'm telling you, it was hard work because it says, take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Like you make it obedient to Christ, take every thought captive. And I started realizing that 99% of my thoughts were junk. Like, literally, all the time a thought would come in. I had just thought my whole life, and I'd be like, hmm, I don't think that's true. I don't think that's scriptural, I don't think that's the character of God. And it just like, and then have that connected with intimacy with God, where I was actually just like believing these things in the presence of God, talking to him about it, being totally honest about all my issues, and like, what do you think about this? And then him like washing his love over me. I just became like unstoppable.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, devil, shut up.

SPEAKER_05

There's so many layers to it, but that would be that that idea, that one idea, and I don't remember how I used to say it. I think I used to say, not every thought is your own, and now I don't say that anymore. I I would say thoughts, you are not your thoughts at all. No, your mind is offering you thoughts, yeah, and so you have thoughts, but if you have it, you are not it. Like you just have thoughts, and some of them are true, some of them are not, some of them are out of left field. Why? Because your mind just takes memories, it takes things in the past, it takes experiences, and when something similar shows up, it offers up that thing. And so if you've lived a life filled with condemnation, and then somebody shows up and they look really nice, and you've lived a life full of condemnation, you'll compare yourself and then you'll be condemned. But and you think, oh, I must be that. But no, your mind is just your mind, it's plastic, it just offers you what you've put in there over and over and over again. Yeah, it is exactly like the algorithm. And then we're like, there's something wrong with my mind. There is nothing wrong with your mind. Your mind is actually acting exactly how you trained it to act. And now you can train it a different way. So good. And people have to understand that, or else they they don't even consider what their mind is. They're just like, they are their mind. And when when people start to see, oh, I'm not my mind, I'm the one observing what my mind offers me. So if my mind offers I'm a piece of junk, if I think I'm my mind, I don't even put the thing in between. I just believe I'm a piece of junk. But if your mind offers you you're a piece of junk and you know the truth, you'll be like, okay, I see what you did there. Yeah. Because I put that in there two years ago and I really believed I was a piece of junk, and now you're reminding me of that, but that's not true. I'm not a piece of junk.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, or or even two, yeah, because there's so many different places thoughts

You Are Not Your Thoughts

SPEAKER_03

come from. Or literally, you are being attacked, and the enemy is like, you're a piece of junk. And you're like, Whoa, no, I'm not. Thank you very much. So, yeah, there's so many different and I think you make a good point. Every part of you that's not your spirit is completely pliable. Every single part of you that's not your spirit can be changed. Now, are there you know ailments and things that people have disabilities and that can't I I believe the Lord can change anything, but I understand we do have limitations. Like I'm not gonna go pick up a building. Okay, that's all I'm trying to say. But my actions, my habits, my emotions, my thoughts, my feelings, all of those can be changed. All of those can be, you know, in some way affected by my spirit. My spirit's not gonna change. My spirit isn't even fully mine anymore. I'm one with Christ. The spirit of the Lord lives in me. We're like intertwined. So I take my identity from his identity, I take my character from his character. That's why it's called the fruit of the spirit. I I can't produce the fruit of the spirit. It's not the fruit of Julia, it's the fruit of the spirit. So I have this anchor. We have this hope as an anchor for our soul, firm and secure. I've never thought about that before. That's a good, that's a good word, though. Um, because my soul is controlled by my spirit. But my spirit, the deposit of the Holy Spirit is is immovable. It's a foundation. It's it's my very life. I don't have life in my spirit aside from the life of Christ. So I think we only see that as eternal life. We don't see that as the character, the attributes, the power, the righteousness, the goodness. All that makes God who he is is my life. And so my mind, everything else is pliable. And my spirit has to be discovered, not trained. I'm not training my spirit. My spirit's trained. My spirit comes from God. My spirit was raised is from God, not raised by God. My spirit is from God. It's God's spirit in me. It's the living being of God, his Holy Spirit. And so I have to discover who he is. And the more I discover who he is, the more I discover who I am. And that's why it says we with unveiled faces behold the glory of God and are being transformed in ever increasing messages. Into that glory. It also says, he who reads the Bible and does not do what it says, or he who reads the word and the perfect word of truth, or the perfect law of God, whatever it is, and does not do what it says, is like a man who looks at himself in the mirror and then immediately forgets who he is. Why? Because this Bible, this word is the identity of God. And if I learn the identity of the Spirit of God, I learn my identity. And if I don't read the Bible, I can't know who God is. And if I can't know who God is, I can't know who I am. And that's why sanctification is something that happens immediately because my spirit is completely sanctified. But my mind, will, and emotions and my body have to be trained based on my understanding. And it, you know what's crazy? I didn't realize this. The scriptures talk a lot about understanding. Understand the will of God, understand the truth. Understood. It says that Abraham by faith understood or rationalized, something like that, that God could bring his son back from the dead. There's this place in your mind that has to be understanding the revelation of God in order for you to live it out. So you first, what I was taught, change the way you think to change the way you speak, to change the way you act, to change the way you live. You can change the way you speak and think at the same time because you're going to speak and think, whatever. I don't think it has to be that sequence. But uh that that revelation has grounded me. Jesus is my foundation. He is my cornerstone. He's my cornerstone for how I think, how I act, how I how I you know view myself, how I treat others, how I endure temptation. I can't graduate.

SPEAKER_05

How long ago was this conference?

SPEAKER_03

Seven years ago.

SPEAKER_05

This conference sounds like the bomb. Like, is this like your church puts it on? Like people in your church believe this stuff? No, wait, wait. Because like I'm I don't run into people who believe this stuff. That's like when I found you, and then you and I asked you about it. You sent me this book, Awake to Righteousness. I bought it like the next day. I'm like, wow, people are out here believing this. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_03

I've actually never read the whole book. My husband has You never read it? The whole book.

SPEAKER_05

So you're well, it it was beautiful for me. I loved it.

SPEAKER_03

The revelation that you're hearing from my mouth is the revelation of the spirit of the Lord and intimacy with God. Like where Paul says, No man taught me it. So 99% of what you're hearing from my mouth is seven years of intimacy with God, obsessed with this. I'm like obsessed with it. I don't use the word obsessed. This is such a negative connotation, but like I am where Paul says, I am compelled. Like, whoa, woe is me if I don't preach the gospel. Like that's how I feel. Um, because I was taught uh, I think rebirth. I was taught freedom from sin and rebirth. And then I was taught about lies and truth. So then I just went hardcore into pursuing that myself and reading the Bible out of that revelation. So they taught me the truth, the simple truth. I don't know how much I remembered, but I remembered enough. And then I studied and studied and studied and studied and was like transformed by it. And and so, yeah, 90% I would say 98% of what you hear is just me learning it, experiencing it, living it, reading the scriptures, studying the scriptures.

SPEAKER_05

So for seven years you've just gotten crazier and crazier about this, and it doesn't seem like it's slowing down.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no. Sorry, he's getting all these messages and it's dinging in my ear. Yeah, no, it's not it, it it amps up. And I've said to the Lord, actually, the other day I will share this. I was praying to the Lord and I was just being really vulnerable with him because when I hear people preach sin, when I hear people preach wretchedness, even this whole thing right now that's getting me is this idea of like you have to starve the flesh. Where the heck, who said that? Where did that come from? I just don't understand. That's just hidden. It's works veiled as righteous living. It's not, it's works. And if I look up flesh and spirit, that's all I find. And I'm like, why is there not teaching on this? So I see that and it burns in me to the point of like intensity, right? Like that, I think I'm being pretty tame. I can be more intense than this. And I was sitting with the Lord saying, God, I feel crazy. Like, am I wrong? I say that to him often. Am I wrong? Like, am I just like out and left field? And the Holy Spirit kind of showed me an image of Paul. And he was like, Imagine what Paul would have been like. This man was a righteous man who understood the gospel of righteousness. Romans is actually about the gospel of righteousness, and he was so fervent about it that he wrote all like so many of the New Testament letters. And he was like, Paul would have shared the same fire for righteousness that you have. He said, You feel alone, but but one of our forerunners, Paul, would have felt the same way as a man that you guys feel now. And that gave me so much comfort because when I talk to people about righteousness, I'm like, this is the most important message in the entire world. This is the gospel. But so few people can can you know follow with my intensity because it's I just want to go deeper and deeper and deeper. And I'm just like, do you not? And so the Lord just comforted me of like, yeah, Julia, you're meant to, you know,

Calling Out Works Disguised As Holiness

SPEAKER_03

carry the fire of this message because I want them to know and they don't know, and I feel the same way. So this is the Lord's fire, and I just carry it. And this is the Lord's revelation. I didn't come up with it. I just carry it and it's gonna go across our nation. And and I it's I have to have the faith. I faith is is you actually believe it. So I'm not saying I don't have the faith as like I have to conjure it up. I'm actually convinced and I know that like it's his message, he's gonna platform it. And I say that to him all the time. You have to platform it. If you if it frustrates you as much as it frustrates me that these people are saying crap all over social media, I'm like, you better do something about it. Because if you don't platform this message, God, they're all believing that this is true. It's your responsibility, so you better get this out there.

SPEAKER_05

So that's my He's like, okay, Julia, I got it.

SPEAKER_04

But yeah, so yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So so let me ask you this. If you were to run into um a girl like Julia eight, nine years ago, who was hating herself, struggling with sin, and you got to put your arm around her, what how would you encourage her?

SPEAKER_03

If she was, I would just say, like, I don't know what I would say. What would I say?

SPEAKER_05

Put you on the spot.

SPEAKER_03

I know because it's like there's probably a girl like this out there. Uh I would just say Jesus actually did it all, and you're so valuable and loved by God that who you are is going to be a radiant beacon of eternal light that can actually express the character and nature and goodness of God, and He was delighted to choose you to do that. I don't know, I think that could I could maybe say that, but like and and I would have never believed that that was possible under the false doctrine I was believing. Because I would have thought it honors God to, you know, dishonor us, or it honors God to minimize us, or it honors God's mercy and love and glory and goodness, that He would love such wretched sinners, and that's not the whole story. It honors God to make us good.

SPEAKER_05

I think the gift that we can give people is that we actually see them for who they are, like we see the Jesus in them because we know that of the Jesus in us. So when you see somebody and they're struggling, but you can see past the struggle to this sweet heart that God has given them, and you can see past the anger or the whatever it is, and you're you say, like, I know you're misbehaving and acting crazy, and you might even be mad at me, but I see you. Yeah,

How To Encourage The Old You

SPEAKER_05

like you can't fool me, you can't fool me. I see you. And the truth is that's the human predicament. We want to be seen, we want to be known. And when someone really sees you and knows you, out looking past all of the whatever, man. What a gift you can give somebody. Yeah, and and that's something you can do. Maybe you you know, you put your arm around that girl and you're like, girl, I see you. Like, I know who you are, and I've been through this. And um No, he makes things all all things beautiful. So um tell me what's on your heart coming up in these next few months. Plug the book one more time, plug the plug your ministry. Uh, if we want to find you on social media, give it give it all to us right now.

SPEAKER_03

Um, okay, so it's called Timothy Generation Ministries. That's our Canadian ministry. We do stuff in the US, but our mandate is Canada. Uh, so you can go to TimothyGen.com, uh, TimothyGen Ministries, just type it in on Instagram, you'll find it. My husband is Jacob underscore Walda on Instagram, and then I'm Jules underscore Walda on Instagram. Uh, we also have a TikTok, but again, if you just type in Timothy Jen, you'll find all that. Uh, my husband's book is Poor Week Old Sinner question mark, and it's all about new identity in Christ, the things we've been talking about, the scriptures of who you were and the scriptures of who you've become. I have a book called uh A Life Please, How to Live a Life Pleasing to God or a Life Pleasing to God. I should remember, but I don't. It's on Amazon. It's by Julia Walda, and it's just basically you learn the gospel and then, you know, how do you live to please God, just in the most simple way. But then I have a YouTube channel for Julia Walda, and I have a gospel series coming out called This Is the Gospel. And it's a series I wrote three years ago because I've been pastoring and teaching this message. So let me be an encouragement. I've taught this message and I'm seeing people live it out. And it's changing their life, and they're becoming these firecrackers with the message of like calling out lies and calling out the simple transformation, like how simply you can walk in this revelation just from believing the truth. I love it. They're like my comment warriors on Facebook when people call out things. Uh, and so I am gonna have a book coming out called This Is the Gospel. And then I'm gonna have the video series, which will have all the information in it. If you're like, man, I want to learn this gospel, I'm

Books Ministry Links And Final Words

SPEAKER_03

gonna teach it very clearly. Uh, and yeah, so check out that YouTube and Instagram is where all my reels are. So, yeah, that's how you get connected with our ministry.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you so much, Julia, for coming on. It's been three years in the making, and we finally have it. Um, but you're a blessing and a testimony of God's love. So, thank you again for sharing your story.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you. Love it.

SPEAKER_05

Absolutely.
