Practical Prepping focuses preparing for the events we are most likely to face, weather events, power outages, supply chain interruptions, shortages, and financial issues.

We've never put any real time into aliens, zombies, asteroid strikes, EMPs, or nuclear war, ... until now.

Through watching world events and doing a lot of research, we've come to have some concerns about the growing possibility of a catastrophic failure of the electrical grid.

A catastrophic failure could be caused by a CME or an EMP, or even through sabatage.

That's our discussion for today, EMPs and CMEs.

We discuss actual EMP tests and the results, as well as several recorded CMEs, and the probability of future occurrences.

There are now nine contries (of which we are aware) that possess nuclear weapons, and others are progressing toward having them. Some of those are not friendly nations.

Several EMP commissions have studied the issues, but efforts to protect critical infrastructurees have not been undertaken.

Even the commissions report that either a CME or EMP would thrust us back to life in the 1800s, 90% of the population would die, and it would take over a year to recover.

We discuss the affects on the power grid, supply chain, economics, vehicles, on life as we know it.

The threat of CME and EMP are real, and will be devastating, but there are some things we can do to prepare.
