WHAT WERE THOSE MARCHES REALLY ABOUT? GOD GIVE US JUSTICE! PART 3

Send us a text

In I Samuel 8:5 reads in the Amplified version; And said to him, (this is Israel speaking to Samuel), Behold, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint us a king to rule over us like all the other nations. Israel wanted a king so that they could be like the nations around them. As we all know, Israel was a nation that was second to none but still they wanted to be like the others around them. Unfortunately, this is what has happened to many of the nations, the nationalities, races and ethnic groups here in the United States since integration. We’ve wanted to be not just equal to but also like those around us. That’s not what our forefathers marched for. They didn’t march so that we could be like this one or like that one, they marched so that we could have the same rights as everyone else, so that we could be treated as equals to everyone around us. Our forefathers marched for justice. They marched, were beaten, put in jail, had water hoses turned on them, had dogs to attack them and some were even killed so that we could be equal to every other race and ethnic group. They didn't suffer these atrocities so that we could be like others but rather so that we would be equal to others. And personally, I don’t want to be like anybody but me.
