The Painted Door Church - Chicago
The Painted Door Church is church family that gathers in Chicago, IL. We are a people who share the same story; we are sinner, saved by grace. We draw our name from the Exodus account in the Hebrew Scriptures, when God spared his people from judgement, passing over all homes that had the blood of a spotless lamb painted across their doorways. Jesus is the new spotless lamb, his death on a Roman cross sparing the people of God from judgment once for all. He reconnects us to our Maker and to each other and invites us to participate in his grand work of restoring all things.

Palm Sunday: Getting Jesus Wrong / Matthew 21:1-17
•
Pastor Mark Bergin
Everyone gets Jesus wrong. Yet he does not rebuke our broken worship nor mock our blindness nor belittle our immaturity. Instead, he accepts our praise in all its feeble lack of understanding. And he accepts us. For he sees our longings and knows they will be satisfied in him. We may not come to Jesus for the right reasons. But if we simply come to him, we can be assured that he will embrace us and teach us the ways that make for peace. Jesus did not enter Jerusalem to rebuke the Palm Sunday crowds for their folly. He entered Jerusalem to be with them, to be among them, and finally to die for them.
