Anjna Chouhan: The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is back with series 3 of Shakespeare Alive. This time our guests include Artistic Director of Shakespeare's Globe, Michelle Terry; composer and former Director of Music at the Globe, Bill Barclay; and author of Shakespeare and East Asia, Alexa Alice Joubin.
Michell Terry: What does the next 400 years of life on this planet look like? And Shakespeare's carbon footprint, cultural footprint, is huge. He is the embodiment of the impact that human beings can have on generations, so I feel so proud that we are in a position where we can be really asking those questions.
Bill Barclay: I try riffing off of a melody that maybe everyone will know, but without the audience going, 'is that Elvis?' or 'is that Coldplay', or 'is that Roy Orbison'?
Alexa Joubin: Not many people know that the narrative structure of Akira Kurosawa actually inspired Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and George Lucas.
Anjna Chouhan: For all this and many more fascinating conversations, remember to subscribe and tune in on your usual podcast platforms.
