The Modern Frida

63. Someone Like You, Someone Like Me

Jennifer Valdez Episode 63

“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do.

I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me, too.

Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this, know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.”

-Frida Kahlo

In today's episode, I had to get something off my chest...at times it felt like I was exposing my heart from the inside out.

And as much as I wanted to shrink myself and not openly express these real thoughts I have, I remembered this quote by Frida Kahlo and it gave me the courage I needed to hit record and go off.

I share my experience on what it feels like to overcome an obstacle and break a cycle just to feel like you’re back in it again.

I speak on my dating life and why it's something I'm choosing to speak more openly about. The good, the bizarre, and all the in-between.

What it feels like to abandon yourself when you have abandonment issues (lol)

The concept of having FANS!!!

Why I think self-love isn't enough sometimes and maybe you just need a fucking hug , sex, or whatever.

And lastly, the new segment coming to the Modern Frida podcast!!

Enjoy and don't forget to leave me a comment below if you're tuning in from Spotify!!
