The believers of the Bible heard from God. We should talk about this more. It should be apparent that the Messiah came to connect us more deeply with God by giving us the gift of the Holy Spirit and some associated gifts or evidences of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a powerful work in our lives it says in Acts 1:8 NKJV, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." Shaul tells us to desire spiritual gifts and this a commandment of God. 1 Corinthians 14:1, 37 NKJV says, "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts; and in verse 37 it says, "The things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord." The context is the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is our helper to keep God's commandments and also helps us in many other ways. We still must do what is "right and good." Remember, Yeshua will reject those who do not keep the law (see Matthew 7:19-23). The Holy Spirit is an important and powerful part of the life of the believer.
