Why contend, struggle, to act in faith if there are no consequences for disregarding God's commandments. Those who do not keep God's commandments are marked out for condemnation it says in Jude. No one is immune to this. Even the angels who sinned will face eternal fire and so will those who do not keep God's commandments no matter who they are. Revelation 21:8 calls it "The lake which burns with fire and brimstone." Some say that Paul taught something different. Shaul (Paul) says that those who live in sin will not be in God's future, "kingdom of God." (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Galatians 5:19-21). He tells them, "Which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past," in Galatians 5:21." He is okay with repeating himself. People need this warning so they will wake up spiritually and stay awake.
Shaul (Paul) did not put up with those who were not keeping God's Old Testament commandments. 1 Corinthians 5:1 NKJV says, "It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles – that a man has his father's wife!" In 1 Corinthians 5:9, Shaul says not to keep company with the sexually immoral. Leviticus 18:7 refers to not having sexual relations with either your father or mother.
People who reject God's authority act like mere animals, "brute beasts" according to Jude. They serve themselves and God will execute judgment on them for their evil. God is the creator and knows how we should best live, so not to live how God tells us to live is sin and is to do evil. Therefore, pretend believers who do not keep God's Old Testament commandments must be judged for the evil they do because they do not follow the good commandments of our good God.
The book of Jude sounds like we are under the law. Of course we are under the law, the law of God. No one is exempt from God's law, not even the angels. God is able to keep us from stumbling. God is able keep us from sinning, but we must make the decision to stop sinning and be committed to stop sinning. Be committed to keep God's commandments. The eternal wise and all-powerful God has given us His good commandments so that we can have a blessed life and be in His future kingdom.
