Last week we talked about the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit. For more information on the Messianic gifts, go to our Divine Healing Prayer Class on our website. You can find the class on our drop-down menu. We repeated ourselves a little bit last week because we used part of one of the teachings from the class. Repetition is not a bad thing. Does a person that commits themselves to follow God one time remain in relationship with God, or does the person who commits themselves frequently to follow God remain in relationship with God? Obviously, the person who commits themselves to keeping God's commandments on a regular basis is in relationship with God. The Bible teaches us that we are to be diligent to teach God's commandments. It would seem that repetition is a necessary part of our spiritual walk, our pilgrimage so to speak.

The end of our spiritual walk ends with our acceptance into God's future kingdom.
Hebrews 11:13-16 NKJV says,
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

They died knowing that their faithfulness to God's commandments will lead to eternal life in God's future kingdom. Our spiritual walk is a daily part of life and not a one-time decision. We need to make a one-time decision to begin that walk and our walk ends at the end of our life in the future kingdom of God. These scriptures in Deuteronomy tell us that repetition and commitment are an important part of the believer's life. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NKJV says, "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."

Our walk involves many things, and the most important of those things is to believe in God and therefore walk as we are supposed to walk and be God's holy people. Deuteronomy 28:9 NKJV says, "The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways." We do not reinvent life at our whim, but through commitment and repetition we develop our ability to keep God's Old Testament commandments. It clearly says we are God's holy people, "if," we keep His commandments. James 2:18-20 NKJV says, "But someone will say, 'You have faith, and I have works.' Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe – and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?" So those who do not follow God's commandments are not living in faith. They do no better than the devil spirits who will end up in the lake of fire. Revelation 20:10 NKJV says, "The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone."
