I frequently point out that if nations just kept the commandments to not murder and not covet, we would have fewer wars. That is the amazing impact of just two of God’s commandments. The 10 Commandments are good commandments and so are the other commandments in the Old Testament. Also, there are many good applications of the Old Testament commandments in the New Testament portion.

God commandments are not difficult. Deuteronomy 30:11 NIV says, "Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach." Rabbi Yochanan also says the same. 1 John 5:3 NKJV says, "His commandments are not burdensome." People can make God’s commandments difficult by adding extra man-made laws, but God never intended for us to add lots of extra laws so that we end up following what people say and not God. Isaiah 29:13 NKJV says, "Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men." 

Let’s look at some of the scriptures about God’s commandments to refresh our memory. We all need encouragement to keep God’s commandments. Society, the Atheistic Religions, false religion, and those who hate us are pulling and pushing on our faith and commitment to God and truth at every opportunity.
