Introduction & Meet Ken Hobbs

SPEAKER_02

I have an interview that I think is going to entice you to listen and stay right where you're at. I have a dear friend, Mr. Ken Hobbs, and I'm not going to give you all of his laurels and background because I want you to hear his story and how he's impacting men. Yes, I said men, and not only just men, but young men, and you're going to learn a lot about what he does.

Ken's Story & Calling

SPEAKER_02

So, Ken, welcome to Renewing You. It's great to have you.

SPEAKER_00

Great to be here.

SPEAKER_02

And we have so much to talk about because you're doing so much. I really want to start with how did you get cranked up and ready to go and do what you're doing? Because you're doing a lot. And then tell us in as we go along what you do, because it's not one camp. You've kind of created an incredible vineyard of young men's training and studies. And we won't want to forget your wife, who has an incredible woman story, but we'll get back to that when we have her on the program, okay? So, Ken, where did you come from and what was your background at this point?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I grew up in South Florida, and uh my dad was a pastor, my grandfather was uh evangelist, and uh during the 40s and 50s was with uh uh Oral Roberts and Shambuck and some of those guys during the stuff. And I've saw growing up in the churches and everything of ministry, because my whole family was involved in the ministry, but I also saw the underbelly that went on uh with a lot of major organizations and saw the things that happened and decided to do 20 years of Jonah, uh, where I was called, uh, but I chose not to walk in my calling and for that period of time built my business and built my

Finding Purpose Through Band of Brothers

SPEAKER_00

family, and and then God gave me a wake-up call 20 years later, and that's where the start happened is that when I went through a life change and uh uh my son's mom decided she wanted to do something different, that uh totally rearranged, and God said, He says, Do I have your attention yet? And he said this is where he was calling so far. About three or four years I went through preparation, and then I um uh was able to get involved into what this call organization called Band of Brothers, which used the John Eldridge Wild at Heart. And Wild

Why Men Need God More Than Ever

SPEAKER_00

at Heart came out in the early 2000s, and uh but it's known for John Eldridge is known as the the uh the leader for men's ministries worldwide and talking about how to be a real man in of God in a secular world, and there's nobody coaching that. Churches don't prepare. Matter of fact, the world's coming against men in all categories and emasculating men of of you know go not wanting them to be what God wants them to be. And especially young men are having a problem, they're questioning whether their their genders are questioning their their way, their rights, or what they should do or not do. So what one of the things I went to and I I was able to, uh the Lord brought me to the my heartmate, my love of my life, and uh and right after I got married, uh, this was the end of 2012, I went to my first Band of Brothers boot camp and uh and saw John Eldridge and the unpacking. And I said, this is stuff I grew up in the church, I grew up in all these things, but nobody ever prepared and talked to me about where you stand with in the eyes of the Lord, the the battles that's going on spiritually that you don't see. Uh who's coaching and preparing men for real life? Who's dealing with you know sexual addictions? Who's dealing with, you know, a way that men medicate themselves, who's dealing with those things? That's not the what's going on in the men's ministry breakfasts at our church right now. There's not raw, there's not real, there's not a a band of brothers, and there's not a squad that you can go to and say, hey brother, pray for me. I have issues, you know, I'll go this. Be transparent and be transparent. Because a lot of times they won't do it in a church, and that's why all the ministries I'm involved in are parachurch organizations. Um, because they won't, if you are going to church and your wife is going to church with his wife, he's not going to come and share with you what's going on, the real stuff. That's right. Because that's what happened. But if you have a safe place, if you have a band of brothers, and if you have a place that you can go to, that they will be there. And then if you coach people and give them resources. And that's what we've gone through is that these events are life-changing.

Inside the Band of Brothers Experience

SPEAKER_00

There's nothing in my life that I've seen and growing up in churches, growing up in organizations. Uh, I run um marketplace ministry, financial coaching businesses that we use. We have so many people come through those organizations and they come and ask, What's the secret of your success? I said, Well, you need to come to one of our band of brothers' events. And learn it. And learn it. And then we let the Holy Spirit do what the Holy Spirit does.

SPEAKER_02

Well, describe uh a weekend for the audience because it is very unique because for men, men have to play as well as learn and grow and develop. And when you put those two together, especially out in nature and competitiveness, you you got the right chemistry. It's it's what drives a man to watch the football game on the weekend, the soccer ball. All those things happen in a man's heart, typically overall. And then you've got the business part of it too, that I know we're gonna be talking about. But what does it look like in a weekend with the band of brothers?

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know, one of the things is so we make it activities draws. So even in our advertisements and stuff, we're not gonna talk about the things that we talk about.

SPEAKER_01

Okay?

SPEAKER_00

Or we'll make that really clear. We we talk about like here, I'm going, I'm leaving for um Wednesday uh in a couple days. I'm leaving to go to Florida for our um our band of brothers in Florida, and we should have about 500 guys there. We had 600 at our at our big boot camp in um uh last November. We have about 500 for our rally point, and we're always bigger in the fall. But anyway, we've got um to do that. They're gonna come in, check in around Thursday. We've got airboat rides, we have helicopter rides, we have zip line, we have full gun range, uh, we have 24-hour sporting complex. And then also we've got a place that people can just go fishing, um, go kayaking, go for trails. Our 93-year-old usually wins the cornhole tournament, all right. And then we have as long as young as uh a freshman in high school.

SPEAKER_02

And you said you've got a movement of young men coming in. What ages, 30 and below?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, in fact, um uh we have uh probably about 30 percent of our guys are under 30 because the activities is what brings them in. I mean, because when the chance they had a chance to sh shoot an AR-15 or to uh go on an airboat and go on a hog hunt in Florida. And we actually um after uh 14 years of being in Florida, uh we actually opened one help because when I bought a place up here in northeast Ohio, we opened one for Great Lakes called a Great Lakes Boot Camp. And uh we have on that one we have paintball and we have uh five waterfalls hiking tours, 24-hour gym open, and uh and we do one thing uh at night for the young guys called midnight meats. So we have in Florida we have all the uh Brazilians and Argentinians and Jamaicans have a meat cook-off. So we have chorizo, we have sausages, meats. Yeah, yes, okay, not meet up, midnight meats, because you know, guys get around, you know guys start talking around a campfire, put some meat there, they talk even more. All right, because it's just it just gets that that drive going. One of the cool things that John Eldritch does, as we use his curriculum, is that he does movie clips for everything that he teaches.

Real Stories of Life Transformation

SPEAKER_00

So the young guys really adapt to like the Braveheart scenes and the gladiator scenes and the Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings, all those epic men movies.

SPEAKER_02

Tapping them into that. Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

And pulling them back in mentally and emotionally so that the God can impact them, and then coaching them up and giving them direction.

SPEAKER_02

How does that filter into the weekend? The the do you have teachers, do you have coaches or testimonies? I mean, we're gonna talk about your books and how so many men have written their tr transformation of their life. Right. So, but what in the weekend do you do to create some of that hot interest for them to move forward?

SPEAKER_00

Great, great thing. Like we do, like in the spring, we'll do a uh what we call a rally point, which is it's a rally point, so we don't have the video curriculum that we use with John Eldridge that we do in the fall. And I'll explain that in a minute. So, like this one uh that's coming up here, we've got um in Florida Cameron Arnett that did the movie The Forge.

SPEAKER_02

What a great movie!

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, amazing, right? He is all about men's mentorship. I've been he's a very good friend of mine. We've been working on uh talking about dates of when he could come and share. So this is the time. So he's gonna be our special speaker. Uh so he will have a session Thursday night, uh, two sessions on Friday, two sessions on Saturday, and then we have other guys who we call responders. Not teachers, not preachers. These are real guys sharing their story as it relates to the topic of that.

SPEAKER_02

Transformation.

SPEAKER_00

Their transformation. Exactly. That's why we call them responders. They're just telling their stories, they're not professional paid, you know, actors or our uh teachers. And then we let them do, and

Building Brotherhood, Family & Community

SPEAKER_00

then we have about 15 pastors that are on our leadership team in Florida who use the our boot camps and our events to help with their men's ministry. And they're on board, and we use them as teachers as well too. They do the devotions in the morning, they'll do some of the things, and so we break it down to um you know two-hour slots of training, talking. We'll actually encourage, uh, bring men's worship to hear 500 men worship loudly is powerful. Yeah, it is powerful.

SPEAKER_02

You know it's interesting. Uh a good friend of mine and big ministry, we just interviewed him uh last month before his Hawaiian Hawaii event. He does it one in Hawaii and one in California, fall and spring. But in turn, uh he builds his programs, which comes with thousands of people. You know m worldwide speakers come in, but he spends only from 8 30 to 1230. Then he lets everybody out to go because they're at resorts and beautiful places, because they're husband and wives, and it's draws in every year constantly, just one after another year, of wonderful groups of people. People come together. I mean, we got friends from our first visit with him when I spoke at his event. It was like we still know those people like they're best friends. Right. You know, and they might be across the country. But I think that's really that's really the mech mechanism that makes people stay. Exactly. That's it. Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

You can't make it all talk and talk. You gotta give it, yeah. Especially guys. Especially guys. And they you know guys that are do activities together bond. We had a hundred in Florida, we had 122 fathers and sons that did the experience together. And we actually had another 24 that had uh grandfather fathers and sons to run that thing. I was very blessed. I had my dad and my brother um six years to do the experience with us, and then my son was able to do three years with us. And so it was really cool. The one we starting like have um here, we started last year in Great Lakes here is a spin-off from our Florida. But the Bander Brothers organization that we do using John Eldridge, um, you know, it has in eight states right now in the United States, um, Florida being the largest, and then the newest one was uh Great Lakes. Um but then we also have four in Canada. We have uh Greece, Belize, Guatemala, Colombia, and we just opened, did our first ever one in Columb in Cuba. All using John Eldridge's Wild Heart, just done through our organization, our event organization.

SPEAKER_02

You know, there's something that happens when guys get together, and I'm sure you saw the Olympics with the hockey team. And the interview is great as the game was, and I loved it. But the great interview of the young man who got his teeth knocked out and made the final goal. His comment, and I think you probably can remember this, said, We've only been together for a few weeks, but we are hockey brothers. And you could see it in his face, the intensity. These are guys from all over the country and competitive. Right. But there's that synergy that takes place, and you drop Christ in the middle of that. This this becomes something that I think is just world-changing, transformational. Transformational.

SPEAKER_00

Like I said, nothing I've ever been involved in. I've been in very successful businesses, been involved in very successful church organizations and stuff.

Why Reaching Men Changes Everything

SPEAKER_00

I've never seen it had any more impact because of according to Barna Stats statistics, that they talk about if you get a child to the Lord first, you have a 9% chance of getting the family. A wife to the Lord first, 17.

SPEAKER_02

17%.

SPEAKER_00

17% of the time, the whole rest of the family. 93% of the time when a father comes to the Lord, the family follows. So guys are hard. Guys are not easy. That's why we do all the activities. That's what we do with all this stuff, because that's takes a lot of coordination. We have to go through a lot of milk, you know, uh hoops and everything to get all the activities done, to get everything done. But we know that's what draws, especially the young guys. If we can teach the young guys, we started as as uh high school freshmen. If they if dad wants to bring them or bring a guardian, and they can go some of the kids in your pictures of your videos.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we want to have them there so they can do it as long as the parents approve. Obviously, if they're over 18, we want to target 18 to 35-year-olds, because those are young dads before they wound their kids because they're already been wounded, okay? We want to get them fixed. That's right. Okay, and when we say get them fixed is what? Give them guidance, give them coaching, give them accountability, but more importantly, give them God. Because that is the key to doing is walking this world, because otherwise we're going from one relationship to another, from one medication to another. One job. One job to another. Exactly, over and over again. And where can we do it and have that? And like you talked about the repeat, like that you were talking about with the your the other event. We

Lives Changed Through Biblical Discipleship

SPEAKER_00

have about 40% of our guys come back to the same videos every year to this because they want the experience.

SPEAKER_02

Well, now I have a question. We're gonna talk about your books real quick. Not real quick, we're gonna talk about your books in a moment, but the reality of the stories that these gentlemen have told, have you ever had them talk about their aftermath of what's it like now you went to your first boot camp and the reality was you met some great fries and they became friends. Is any of that been documented by your your team?

SPEAKER_00

We have some of the things you we talk about that while we're there. I bet. I bet. We have not gone full multimedia yet on it, because we kind of want to keep the boot camps what we do there, because if most of the guys found out we're gonna start dealing with sexual addictions and we're gonna start dealing with, you know, uh teaching and talking about that. And if they talk about some of the things the wounds that they might have, they if you talk about that on the outside first, that doesn't sound like they're not gonna come sing kumbaya, they're not gonna come do all that kind of stuff, all right? That that's not what most guys want. So we talk about the activities, we talk about the gun range, we talk about you know getting certified, we're talking about going airboats and helicopters and stuff, and we talk about the secret to our success.

SPEAKER_02

Well, now, tying this back biblically.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Jesus does a sermon, then he gets Peter and them in the boat. He already asked them, how's the fishing being? He said, not so good. Right. And he takes them out, they catch a lot of fish. They immediately leave their way of life to take on and follow him. That I really, you know, the the the Spirit was just giving me that picture as you were sharing because it's get meeting them where they're at, meeting what turns them on, and helping them lead that in a lifestyle of Christ-centered. And I think that's really it just I'm excited because I'm coming to the event and I'm excited about that because it has so much power when you put men, you know, women have have changed the world in the in the Christian faith. They have been there, they've supported them, Jesus had his best team on the on the female side. We know that, without that. But in turn, you said it earlier, the world has crushed this male image that Christ set for us. Right. And boy, you know, it needs to be restored, re-built and developed again.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely, absolutely. To have a vehicle, to have a thing that people can be part of, can feel the camaraderie, can have the experience, and then maybe bring their kids with them and bring their sons. Because I always hear it right now. Matter of fact, even one of your assistants talked about, oh there, because I want my son to be around that. That's some of the things that gets that keep it ongoing. The other thing is we build our leadership team from the guys that's been transformed. So we have a hundred and ten guys that have volunteered for our leadership team. They come to serve. So they come, they've been transformed. They've been transformed. So now they come to serve. They go work on the airboats, they go do the food.

SPEAKER_02

And Ken, when you look in the eyes of somebody who's really been transformed, and you're not yet transformed, or you're just, you know, nibbling along, you look at a man who is really sold out.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Not doing everything perfect, not everything going right, but know that they've been transformed. That is a magnet. It's just like an attraction that you want to have whatever that person has.

SPEAKER_00

100%. And also one of the things is that our executive leadership team are very successful business people. So they can draw in their offices, their people, like one of the in financial coaching, which I'm part of. We do financial seminars, so we have thousands of people coming through our system, and we always use that as a way, hey, why don't you come check out our booth? You know, our events is coming up. Why don't you come learn a little bit more? And also other successful people in the business are going to be there too. But you can network. Exactly. And so we've done this all without advertising. We've had in Florida, we've had over 10,000 guys go through. Okay. And so across the country, I haven't even kept track of the numbers. It's amazing. But it's not about the numbers. Exactly. Okay, it's not about the numbers, it's about the impact. And I pray every day. God help me to have maximum impact. That's one of the things that I do. That's

Books, Devotionals & Ministry Resources

SPEAKER_00

why I we do so many things between the financial coaching, between the uh the Bander Brothers events, between the books. Let's talk about the books.

SPEAKER_02

You've got five that you've uh you've written and um coached. I mean, it's got a multi-level. Pick up that first book and show it to our camera right over here. Um this title is what?

SPEAKER_00

United Men of Honor. Overcoming adversity through faith. And on the back, you can see we've coached 26 guys to tell their stories in 3,000 word chapters. And of those 3,000 word chapters. Exactly. So like here is that here's one of the here, he has uh Sean Loomis, and he has his bio there, so he can share information about where he comes from. If he's involved in any ministries, he can list that there or his business. And then he shares his story. And then, like, here is there's a purpose in the pain. And talked about that where he shares scriptures. We always have scriptures in there, and he always talks about how you go, you know, how he overcame, you know, and then we have a teachable chapter that whoever the visionary authors that goes through, and a teachable chapter, it's like here, uh, faith to overcome shame. So it does a teaching on two-page teaching on shame. So in one of the things the guys don't have don't have a tendency of reading a lot of novels, okay? I mean, you understand? But they can take a five-page, three thousand-word chapter and knock it out in 15 minutes. And that's a cool thing they could do. And then they could do a two-page um teaching or a devotion. I have some of the guys that use the two-page teaching as devotionals because they're written for guys about guys' issues. And so that was our first book, United Men of Honor, Overcoming Adversity Through Faith. Our second book was Navigating Your Storm. Okay, and as here is that uh we just called it Navigating Your Storm because everybody has a storm, okay, or have been through a storm, or are currently in a storm, okay? And we had 26 guys. Uh, an author of a book called Forgiving Forward that's part of our band of brothers. He wrote the book, it was amazing. The seven levels of forgiveness, which most men never get past three. He wrote his story in there. Very successful business leaders or the heads of uh Way FM shared their story. So we have had all kinds of guys that volunteered to share this. We use all the revenue from the books to fund scholarships for guys that can't afford to come to the events. And then Fit to Fight was uh um two years ago, our book there, and it's talked about Are You Armored Up? And it's kind of cool the covers are really guy things. We have all guy themes on that. And then we have gentlemen that uh wrote their stories. Matter of fact, one of the guys that wrote the stories is uh one of the guys we called, uh he calls himself the Heaven Guy. So the Heaven Guy Ministries. He's his wife passed away about seven years ago, and her last thing he says, get as many to heaven any way you can.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, and so he he took that as a ministry, and so he actually came up with the uh the QR code video of how to get to heaven, six-minute video of how to get to heaven, and that's his story. Oh my goodness. Okay, because he's one of my very good friends, so we just cross-resource because now all the ministries that we do, it's never about money, it's never about anything. We're here for the big C. And so that's why we don't compete with churches. We actually resource churches.

SPEAKER_02

We want to get people saved and get them in churches, and that's another dimension that you're filling because somebody can be going to church every Sunday. Yep. They can go to Bible studies, and especially with guys, they'll probably travel along with their wife to the Bible studies. But you can see they're not motivated and stimulated, not everybody, but a lot of the majority. But when you start to put these types of things together, you motivate something that will never change. I mean, it's like a kid that's played football in college, he's gonna always have that driving force in his business world, in his family world, and you know, in his belief.

SPEAKER_00

It exactly. It crossed really and it goes into every part of your life, like you were just saying. Once you are radically changed from the inside out, and life, you are now able to look at life. Different perspectively, it affects your marriage. We tell uh well, one of the things we use to get the guys to come, we'll talk to the guys' wives. You need to make sure your husband gets there. I promise you, you'll be changed. And then every year, and every year what happens is the wife goes and says, Isn't there one of them events coming up for you to go to? I mean, they want them to go because when they come back, they come back changed. And that's what we want to do.

SPEAKER_02

And I think that the other part of it, and you know the scripture, it's the constant transformation. Everybody thinks it's a one and done, been born again, accepted Christ, got the Holy Spirit, got baptized. But the reality in the scriptures again is based on the fact that this is a renewal daily. It's a renewal daily, it's a renewal daily, and without that, you begin to drift. Correct. And why did you fall from your first love? The scripture says, that's the very reason. There's nobody fanning in the flame like Paul was telling Timothy, fan it in the flame.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. But going back to the scripture, like you were talking about, we use as the thing is that David, who was called a man after God's own heart, he was also the warrior king, if you remember. Okay? And before that, he was the shepherd singing, writing psalms. Before that, right? But how did he fall? Where did his fall happen when he wasn't doing what king warrior kings are supposed to do? He's sitting on the porch of his palace overlooking and said, Boy, doesn't that look good.

SPEAKER_02

Perfect time.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. So the point being is when you are distracted, when you're not living life on purpose.

SPEAKER_02

But David says the one thing that I have learned is I want to be in the presence of the Lord all the time. That's the separation. And you need brothers to keep pulling you back in when you start to drift or to forget. And that's really, I don't think any other source has put it together, thank God, what the Lord put in your ministry in the power of men being men.

SPEAKER_00

And we also we don't we we made a commitment we're not gonna be churchy. Okay, we're not gonna sit there just uh use churchy language, we're not gonna do that. We're gonna be real, we're gonna be raw. You know, we have unedited clips out of the movies that we share, you know, the guys' things there that are you know that that are real and raw.

Spiritual Growth Through Silence & Prayer

SPEAKER_00

We also have even to tell the guys that hey, we are gonna be straight with you all the way through. Okay, whatever we do, they honor the code. Okay, we have a code of silence. So we're after every session, we uh there is a 25 to 30 minute quiet, mandatory quiet time, nope unplugged, okay, and you have a list of questions. And the first time I went there, I I was going through that first half hour. I've never been a half hour without having a text message, a phone call, a kid, or a spouse, or somebody interrupt 30 minutes. I've never, I can't remember. That rocked me.

SPEAKER_02

We just did a discussion on the previous podcast, and it's very interesting. We talked about silence. And I had shared with my son, um, who's out of the country, went on a week fast of silence. The hardest thing he'd ever done in his life. Uh very successful business person, but when he got through that week, he said it was the greatest experience he'd ever had. Because we can't take captive every thought when we got too many thoughts. Correct. We can't know what's in our heart, so we speak a bunch of junk out of it. And when we become silent, it really changes even the moment. Even the moment.

SPEAKER_00

We call it the covenant of silence. Okay, and all the guys have the code. Okay, all right. If there anybody if there it's ever an interruption of the code, we call them out. We know it because you gotta let God, you gotta listen. Okay, you can get all the information you want, you can be in all the environment you want, but if you're not listening to what God is, and that's where it talks about, you know, it's a scripture, it says whether you turn to the left or whether you turn to the right, there is that still small voice that says, This is the way, go in it. Okay, why is it still and small? Because you have to be so close to hear it. Intimate. Intimate. And that's where it is. And guys don't want to hear that. That's not something that's popular to bring, they're not gonna have like 10,000 guys come sign up for this because of that. No, we have them. This is that we have an environment. We create an environment, and we give them resources. That's what we're here to do. We're here to equip the saints. We can't do everything. I run a very successful business, and uh my job is to equip my people to be successful and it's provide resources and stuff. That's one of the reasons we do the books. That's one of the reasons like uh my my wife with her magazines and her podcasts and her uh devotions, she writes a devotion every day and for the women, and then you know, having the cards, having the things that we do is to give resources so that we can equip people so that they can live a better life. And you can't be a disciple if you're not discipling somebody else.

SPEAKER_02

Well, you know, John 15 through 17, 18 is very neat because the last hours of Jesus' life was with his eleven.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Can you imagine? I mean, when you read those scriptures and you put that in perspective, it is life-changing because these are the last words of Jesus on earth as the human vessel coming forth with wisdom. Remain in me, and I'm praying for you. And I mean, just things that just change their life. But we can read that same scripture and not get it.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

But in this kind of environment, I think it would be so living because it's life. And people it's happening around them. It's not just here's what it says in John 15, 7 years.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. When Jesus is up on the mount, okay, that his let his first word that he said, it's written as his last sentence before he leaves, is two-letter word, go.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that's what he says. He says, go. And when he was resurrected, a lot of people don't realize if you go back, I just did this over Easter, a study, that his first word that he said to Mary when she saw him and got scared, he said, rejoice.

A Call to Biblical Manhood

SPEAKER_00

So his first two words operative when he was rose from the dead and before he left the earth was rejoice and go. And then and then don't be afraid. You know, he always says that when here. But those are the things, and that's what we as men need to run. Okay, men need to go. We are not built to be passive. Okay, testosterone is not toxic. Testosterone is the gas for a fully equipped man to live a life and to be full, what God has called us to be purpose-driven and to fulfill it, and to have maximum impact. We're not here to live and die and eat and do anything. We're here to make an impact. And our children and our friends and our who's watching everything, okay, need to do that. And the way we can do that is giving stories when you hear how other people have overcome. When you hear what other people have gone through, like your son just going through that experience, hearing that that inspires others. And that's why we do the books. And like here, last year's book was Unstoppable Leaders. And went to on Amazon on release day five category, number one bestseller. And we had 23 guys, including that young 20-year-old that I talked about. He just mattered, I just officiated his wedding two weeks ago. Okay, that he went through our whole process and coaching. He got a contemporary, there you go. He was right there. He shared his story, and he had teachers and people that he that knew him and brought him up that were so proud of him. And he had over 22 guys at the event last year. All right. And so that's what we want to do is how do you become unstoppable? Okay, you become unstoppable through faith. Okay, that's what you the only way you can become an unstoppable leader is here. And the teachable chapters that go in between are powerful. Okay, the powerful because it gives people encouragement. An unstoppable leader is a visionary, an unstoppable leader understands forgiveness. You know, an unstoppable leader is, you know, makes a um leader is empowering. Okay, and that's the way we go through. And we're excited to be able to provide these resources. We're working on book five. This uh right now we have 30 guys that are going through um uh what I call forged by fire. And as I I already got the book cover, already going to think about a guy holding a sword and and and and hitting what it's red hot, and there's already a sword that's already been made into a cross behind it. Think about that. So that's what here is that forged by fire. How many of us have been forged through? We've gone through fires, we've gone through storms, and that's the way gold is made pure. Okay, and that's the way iron becomes strong, is through that forging. And how many times have God done that with us?

SPEAKER_02

And then iron against iron.

SPEAKER_00

Iron sharpens iron. That's right. That's exactly the scripture that goes through.

SPEAKER_02

I know that we're gonna have you back as often as your schedule allows. How can we have everything down below? So if

How to Get Connected & Get Involved

SPEAKER_02

you've gotten inspired, and I'm sure you have, we have all the information down below. But what else can they do to get involved? How can they get the books? How can they learn more about these events?

SPEAKER_00

Got it, got it. Well, the checkout here, we go through uh United Men of Honor is our online community. Unitedmenofhonor.com has a landing page where they can link to any of the things that are going on. They also have the links to the books uh that are available on Amazon. They can go and link there if they want to check them out. It's available on Kindle or they can have it in two days, whatever they want to do to do that. Then also our next events, whether it be our Florida Band of Brothers uh or the uh Great Lakes that are both coming up um you know here and uh the next couple weeks. So we have those available. Uh, you can also reach me directly, uh Ken Hobbs2 at Yahoo.com. Reach me directly. Uh I am fully invested in all of this. I love helping people. It's a part of my calling, is that uh I want to be that that congruent, you know, to take people from where they were to where they need to go.

SPEAKER_02

Well, your grandfather has to be very proud up in heaven, rejoicing in the world. He's not in heaven.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, he's alive. He turns a hundred in October. Oh, wow. Where he already had his hundred-year-old birthday plan. He's preaching, okay, at the church. Well he's got it.

SPEAKER_02

He can go to 120.

SPEAKER_00

He can that's and he claims it. He's Italian, he's son of olive oil and a clove of garlic. It's his secret, he tells me. He's turning a hundred years old, and he is. I mean, he he knows he's our prayer warrior. So anytime there's a book released, I taught him to pray about our podcast that we're doing here. He is a prayer warrior for us. That's where he's gonna be.

SPEAKER_02

You call him Pop, you call him Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

I call him Pop Sorello, his name is Rudy Sorello Jr. and uh senior. Uh, and then Rudy Sorello Jr. is his son who is uh runs a seminary in Colorado Springs. And so we're very proud to be his grandson, to take over his legacy. I'm uh not a pastor of a church, but our goal is to do as many marketplace ministries to fill as many churches as we can.

SPEAKER_02

Jesus said when two or more come together, he's there. That's the church. That's to be the church. Absolutely, and working for the big C. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Getting them all together. And so we're excited about that. And that's also part of the reason I mentioned about my wife and how you know she started Women World Leaders after she saw the impact that we were doing with the men. And so she started um eight years ago writing a devotion every day, a weekly podcast, a quarterly magazine called Voice of Truth, and there's no ads, anything's there. And then she's coached, uh, she has eight anthology books. She's coaching women in the process right now, and uh she's coached over 500 women to tell her embracing the journey, uh, tears to triumph, all the ladies' stories and stuff. So that's where we are right now.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna ask you for your influence to get her on the uh I'll work on that.

SPEAKER_00

I promise, I promise.

Final Encouragement & Closing Thoughts

SPEAKER_00

She'll we'll work on that for sure.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_02

Good, good. So you remember this though, above everything else beauty and true change begins within, and that happens within you when the Holy Spirit explodes like you saw it in Ken. It'll happen to you as well. See you soon.
