God's Word in Action | Applying Biblical Truth to Everyday Life
What good is knowing God's Word if we never put it into practice?
In this week's teaching, Jeffrey Paul shares how lasting transformation happens when we move beyond simply understanding Scripture and begin living it each day. God's Word was never meant to be information alone—it was meant to renew our minds, shape our hearts, and transform the way we live.
Drawing from 2 Corinthians 10:3–6 and Philippians 4, Jeffrey explains how the Holy Spirit faithfully guides us, helps us recognize unhealthy thought patterns, and empowers us to take every thought captive. Through practical illustrations and biblical application, you'll discover how to move from simply hearing God's truth to experiencing the freedom that comes from walking in it.
No matter what you're facing today, God has given you everything you need to renew your mind, walk in the mind of Christ, and live the abundant life He has prepared for you.

🙏🏻 Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving us Your Word to guide our lives and Your Holy Spirit to help us walk in truth. Teach us not to be hearers of Your Word only, but doers who faithfully apply it each day. Help us recognize thoughts that do not come from You, take them captive, and replace them with Your promises. May our minds be renewed, our hearts transformed, and our lives become a reflection of Christ. Strengthen us to trust You, follow Your voice, and experience the peace that comes from walking in obedience.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.

A Power Greater Than Self-Help
SPEAKER_00You have a power greater than you could ever muster up in self-help. You have a power that you don't have to earn. You have a power, though, you need to exercise. Do you have an awareness that you have 50,000 thoughts going on in your head every day? My granddaughters would say, I can't even count that high, Poppy. Well, today we're going to talk about in our series of winning the war in our minds, the principle of application
Knowledge Alone Doesn't Transform Us
SPEAKER_00now, the life application of taking all of what we've learned from the scriptures, all of what we've learned from the understanding that we've shared about our neuropathways, our two minds, the enemies that we have. And we're now going to take all that from the scriptures that we've learned and put it into practice on a day-to-day basis. Are you ready for that? Well, that's really important. It's really important because just having knowledge, as we talked about yesterday, as the example I gave, which was the cigarette pack, that the Attorney General says that it causes cancer to smoke cigarettes. And you shouldn't smoke cigarettes, but it hasn't done anything but increased in the popularity of use of cigarettes.
Taking Every Thought Captive
SPEAKER_00So knowledge, research, science does not change or transform your thoughts, your feelings, because we deal with two minds, as I've talked about throughout the week, two minds, the human mind, the intellectual mind, the mind that has its own attitude, it has its enemies like the devil, the world trying to conform it, and ego. But today, the scripture we're going to share out of 2 Corinthians chapter 10, verses 3 through 6 says, take captive every thought unto Christ Jesus. Take captive. If the Bible says that, it means and it sets the premise that we can. We also know Philippians 4.13, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, not in our human effort. But let me share with you, just in review, before we get into this life application, I don't want you to go anywhere because it's really important you grasp after all week this whole series about winning the war in our minds, is really put to practice,
The Mind of Christ vs. The Human Mind
SPEAKER_00not just knowledge. You know, it's a little um cup that my son, who's a glass blower and a creative guy, uh made for me, which is Caleb. And he put on the face on the side a smiley face. Let's say that's the mind of Christ that you have received, that we talked about, that comes out of 1 Corinthians chapter 2, verse 16. But how many times we always often shift into that other mind, the mind that wants to think of things logically instead of faith-filled, want to think of things hopeless instead of thinking with hope. What happens when we go from the mind of Christ through a day, an hour, a relationship, a discussion, and turn to the other mind? That is what we're going to talk about today, Enrique Earrids, of taking captive every thought. Here's the point. We know that we have, if we've accepted the Holy Spirit inside of us, the power to take captive every thought, as the scripture says today, to take captive every thought.
The Ongoing Battle in Our Minds
SPEAKER_0050,000, I said to you, 50,000. But it also says in scripture, be alert, the enemy. Remember back to the enemy? The enemy prowls around looking to pull you back into the mind, the mind that will be miserable, the mind that will be ugly, the mind that will be worrisome, the mind that will be fearful, and all the things that come with the human mind. But when we transcend into the mind of Christ, we have the ability to take
The Holy Spirit as Your Driver's Assistant
SPEAKER_00captive. But this battle goes on and on and on. Now, let me give you a real good example. And this came from the Spirit today. I wouldn't have been able to think this through. Cars today have what's called driver assistant technology. Driver assistant technology. I'm going to compare that with the Holy Spirit. I know you think I'm crazy, but that's okay. Because I think you're going to get a real visual for this that the Spirit gave me this morning. When I'm driving my car and I go over the white line just a little bit, I hear beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, and the wheel pulls me back into the lane that I'm in. Unless I put my blinker on and I move then to the left or to the right. Why? Well, it's there to assist me from getting into a car accident, pulling into a semi, pulling into another car, wherever it's going to lead me. It's not going to lead me to something very good. But I have three choices. Three choices to deal with that driver's assistant technology. I can turn it off. Right? That's one of the options. You can hit that button and turn it off. I can ignore it. I can ignore it. Or I can obey it. So I can turn it off, ignore it, or obey it. Now let's move it over to the Holy Spirit.
Three Choices: Ignore, Turn Off, or Obey
SPEAKER_00The Holy Spirit is there in John 14, 26 to remind us, to correct us, to lead us, to give us the understanding, to give us the driver assistance to get through this life in the ways that God has designed for us in a path that is firm and steadfast, taking captive every thought is the same thing. As you are going through your day, let's say that you beefed up on watching, you know, our inspirational morning session, you did some prayer time, some journaling, and you really were ready
Recognizing the Holy Spirit's Warning
SPEAKER_00to go. And you drive out in your spiritual mind of Christ, and suddenly you hear beep, beep, beep because you're starting to feel, well, I'm kind of nervous about today, or I'm so aggravated with that worker next to me. I just can't. And these thoughts begin to beep, and the Holy Spirit gives you that trigger, that beep to take captive that thought immediately. Why? Because if that thought has time to continue to be either ignored or turned off, you're going to turn in to the other mind, and you're going to turn into the traffic and danger and everything else that comes with that.
How to Turn Your Spiritual Driver's Assistant On
SPEAKER_00So, Jeff, how how do I do this? By turning on your spiritual driver's assistance, which is the Holy Spirit. Constantly communicating, dialoguing within yourself, with the Holy Spirit, dialoguing back and forth, discussion. I feel this way, and hear the Spirit say, don't worry. All of a sudden, you feel the sense. If you're in the mind of Christ, you feel the sense of that's the right thing to do. And I bring back myself into the right little center lane and no longer being crossed over. But if you allow it to go too long, you endanger yourself from going from the mind of Christ that we've talked about to the mind of man, which is hell on earth. I'm just gonna you know call it it as it is, but it's not as black and white, it happens with just a few sprinkles of a few feelings or thoughts that allows you to hear that beep, beep,
Your Responsibility to Listen and Obey
SPEAKER_00beep. If the Holy Spirit is in you and living and active, that's that's his role, and he never fails. But he, the Holy Spirit, can be ignored, turned off, or obeyed. And now we have a responsibility, just like we do when we drive our car. You can have the best car in the world, you could have the Mercedes or the BMW or the it doesn't matter what car brand you have, you could have the best in the world, and as you're driving, you're still responsible. You're responsible to listen to the Holy Spirit, not to make the car go, not to make the road underneath you smooth, none of those things. That's God takes care of that. But what we are responsible for is to listen to the Holy Spirit and to truly obey that voice. Why? For a bunch of laws, to be a good boy or girl, for the best life ever, for to live the life that God has called, designed, created, and planned for you and I to live. But there's 50,000 thoughts, way more than you and I can count, like my granddaughters would say, but not too many for the Holy Spirit to take captive and to bring you to those thoughts that are good, pleasing, and perfect. Let me take you to one more scripture before we close today.
Philippians 4:8 — Think on These Things
SPEAKER_00Philippians chapter 4, verse 8 says, in fact, verse 7 starts by saying, We have a peace that transcends us, lifts us out of this circumstance, out of this situation, out of these feelings, out of these thoughts, out of this world, out of whatever we're in. Transcends us out of this. And it then goes on as instruction, now think upon these things that are good, pleasing, perfect, loving, compassionate, praiseworthy.
Put God's Word Into Practice
SPEAKER_00Then it says in verse 9, now put this into practice, put this into practice so that your life would be blessed and that you truly will see the manifestation of the Christ's likeness in you. If you understand what we've talked about all week long in regards to what's happening in the war, in the battlefield of your mind, the reality is this: you have a power greater than you could ever muster up in self-help.
Exercising the Power God Has Given You
SPEAKER_00You have a power that you don't have to earn. You have a power though, you need to exercise, you need to have that dialogue with God. How? By journaling, confirming that journaling what you hear and what you say in scripture, and then surrounding yourself with those that have the same like-mindness of being Christ-like, following Christ. And with that, excuse me, comes the call every day to read and listen to scripture and to speak words of life. Those are all the things that happen when you're in the mind of Christ. But as we slip back and forth from time to time, because of the circumstances, because of the situation, because of our chemistry, because of our moods, because of what happens to us, we can always trigger back, not by our strength and not by our power, but by drawing back. Draw unto me, the scripture says, and I will draw near to you.
Repent and Return to the Mind of Christ
SPEAKER_00All we've got to do is repent. That's the word that's used. Turn from the ugly human mind and repent and turn to the mind of Christ. I hope this week has really ministered to you. I really pray for you to put this into practice. It is not by your strength, not by your power, it's by truly triggering and turning on the driver's assistance in this world that we're
Final Encouragement & Weekend Challenge
SPEAKER_00in but not of, which is the power of the Holy Spirit living within you. Take captive every thought. Have a beautiful weekend. And through this weekend, continue to remain in the mind of Christ, in the spirit of Christ's likeness, so that your days and your nights and your mind is controlled by the Spirit.
