Originally we started out from 2010 until 2021 when our work was based around our weekly radio programme SacredSpace102fm (SS102fm) on West Limerick 102fm. Now we share our work via this page including our weekly podcast as well as other recordings and inspirational talks which we would like to share with you our listeners. Fr Eamonn McCarthy reflects on the life and witness of Edel Quinn - 6 October 2019 (Programme Excerpt)
This week we play a reflection of the life of Edel Quinn by Fr Eamonn McCarthy. Edel was born in Kanturk, Co. Cork in 1907, and in the 1930’s became ill with Tuberculosis which prevented her entering the Poor Clares. However God had another plan for Edel. She joined the Legion of Mary and went on the first Legion pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1934. After travelling to England and Wales with the Legion, Frank Duff suggested she spread the message of the Legion in Africa. She arrived in Mombasa in November 1936 and continued working in Africa till she died in 1944.
